Edna Hively
Parkersburg, WV

Edna B. Hively, 82, of Parkersburg, passed
away Jan. 2, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical
Center.

She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Belleville, a
daughter of the late Payton F. and Rosa A.
Griffith Lemley.

Edna was a member of the Belleville United
Methodist Church and had retired from the C&P
Telephone Co. with 28 years of service. She
had also been owner and operator of the Candy
House, which she ran out of her home for
several years. She was a member of the Pioneer
Women of the Telephone Company, and she
enjoyed puzzles, word search books and playing
solitaire.

Surviving is her son, Edward C. Hively II of
Parkersburg; her daughter, Linda (Ron) Baker
of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Erik Baker
and Cody Hively; and a great-grandaughter,
Brandi Baker. She is also survived by a
special niece, Shirley Hunt; and many other
nieces and nephews. In addtion to her parents,
she was preceded in death by brothers, Ray
Lemley, Carl Lemley, Ralph Lemley,
Walter "Shorty" Lemley, Harry Lemley and an
infant brother, Robert Lemley; an infant
sister, Esta Lemley; a nephew, Hartzell and
his wife Martha Lemley; and a niece, Sharon
Lemley Watters.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1
p.m. on Monday at the Kimes Funeral Home, 521
Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Bob Riffle
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-7
p.m. Sunday, and an hour prior to the service
on Monday.

Ruby Perry
Parkersburg, WV

Ruby G. (Blouir) Perry, 81, of Parkersburg,
passed away on Dec. 29, 2013.

There will be a memorial service held at the
convenience of the family.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family.

Leo Craddock
Davisville, WV

Leo E. Craddock 85 of Davisville, passed away
December 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born October 5, 1928 at Adam in Calhoun
County a son of the late Glover and Ellen
Slider Craddock.

Leo was a graduate of the Calhoun County High
School and Glenville State College.

He was a member of the Kanawha United
Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men
which he had once served as President.

Leo retired from the Federal Aviation Agency
with 34 years of service and had also retired
from Hughes STX Corporation of Vienna,
Virginia.

He had served in the US Air Force during the
Korean War and was a member of the American
Legion, Parkersburg Post # 15.

Leo was also a member and past Master of the
Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge # 3 and the Calvary
Commandary.

He enjoyed Woodworking and Antique Cars.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years,
Mary Roberts Craddock.1 son, Ronald L. (Hannah
Omietanski) Craddock of Davisville and 1
daughter, Jennifer R. (Daniel) Craddock Gibbs
of Middeltown, RI. A granddaughter, Jessica
Leigh Craddock of Albertville, AL. 4 brothers,
Harold Craddock of Grantsville, Ronald
Craddock and Homer Craddock both of Rittman,
Ohio. and Larry Craddock of Arnoldsburg.
2 sisters, Hope Roberts of Vienna and Linda
Meadows of Creston and several nieces and
nephews.

In addition to his his parents, he was
preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gale and
Doyle Craddock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00
PM Sunday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Pastor Jamie Sprague and Reverend Rick
Haught will officiate and burial will follow
at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Masonic and
Military Graveside Rites.

The procession to the cemetery will be
escorted by the Patriot Guard.

The visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 &
6-8 PM and an hour prior to the service on
Sunday.

Leo Halcovich
Parkersburg, WV

Leo J. Halkovich, 90, of Parkersburg passed
away at home, December 25, 2013.

He was born January 28, 1923 at St. Clair,
Pennsylvania, a son of the late Jacob and
Fotia Halkovich.

Leo was a graduate of Penn State University
with a degree in Engineering. He was a United
States Army Veteran, retiring from Walker
Division of Butler Manufacturing Company in
1988 where he was Vice President of Sales.
Survivors include one daughter, Lee (Ray)
Church of Belpre, and one son, Robert (Jan)
Halkovich of Mettawa, Illinois.

He was the last surviving member of his
immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in
death by his wife, Nancy.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am,
Saturday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church
with Father Joseph Peterson officiating.
Inurnment will be in Pennsylvania at the
convenience of the family.

Memorial donations should be made to the
Matthew 25 Group of St. Margaret Mary or the
Camden Clark Medical Center Foundation
earmarked for the Family Fitness Center.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services is
assisting the family with arrangements.

Cary Andrew Queen
Parkersburg, WV

Cary Andrew "Andy" Queen, 53, of Parkersburg,
passed away Dec. 18, 2013, at the Willows
Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 15, 1960 in Parkersburg, a
son of Martha Marie Kirkpatrick Queen Modesitt
of Parkersburg and the late Cary William Queen.

Andy was a member of the Lynn Street Church of
Christ.

He had been employed by Pizza Hut and did
concrete work for several years. He had also
served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are three daughters: Autumn Jones,
Brandy Thompson and Carrie Queen, all of
Parkersburg, and four grandchildren; two
brothers, Jonathan Queen and Gerald Moran,
both of Parkersburg; three sisters, Beth
Fluellen and Chrissy Miller, both of
Parkersburg, and Jennie Jefferson of Vienna.

He is also survived by several uncles, aunts,
nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service held at 1
p.m. Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Parkersburg, Evangelist Hoss Ridgeway
will officiate.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services is
assisting the family.

James C Smith
Parkersburg, WV

James C. Smith, 65, of Parkersburg, passed
away Dec. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born on May 20, 1948 at Peru, Ind., a
son of Jayne Elizabeth Betzner Smith of
Columbus and the late Carl Robinson Smith.

James attended the First Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ) in Parkersburg.

He graduated from Franklin University with a
BA degreee in Journalism.

James was currently the executive editor of
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel and The
Marietta A.M.

A 42-year veteran of the newspaper industry,
he served as editor of four newspapers before
coming to Parkersburg on June 25, 2001. After
a couple of years as the city editor of the
Delaware (Ohio) Gazette and 9 years as the
crime editor at the former Columbus Citizen-
Journal, he was named editor of the Piqua
Daily Call in western Ohio.

He was named editor of The Herald-Star in
Steubenville, Ohio, in 1984, and later went to
The Review in East Liverpool, Ohio, before
heading south to become editor of The Daily
Iberian in New Iberia, La., in 1996. He has
been active on many community boards and
committees throughout his career and served
two and a half terms as president of the
Steubenville, Ohio Lions Club and on the
boards of the Franciscan University of
Steubenville, the Regional Spelling Bee, The
Steubenville City Schools Advisory Board, The
Steubenville Homecoming Fiesta, treasurer of
Steubenville's Steel Valley Transit Authority
and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Wish Come
True for Terminally ill children.

He was an active member of the Piqua Kiwanis
Club and a member of the board of the New
Iberia Kiwanis Club, The New Iberia Leadership
Alumni Association and the sheltered home for
abused housed woman.

He is a member of several Masonic
Organizations, The Elks, a former member of
the Parkersburg Salvation Army Board, on a
West Virginia University at Parkersburg-
Advisory Board and the Parkersburg Lions Club
Board of Directors.

He also was chairman for several years of the
Freedom of Information Committee for the West
Virginia Press Association.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by
his wife, Mary Ann Morgan Smith and their
daughter, Susan (Joerg) Dreweke of Washington,
D.C. and twin grandsons, Cole and Luke Dreweke.

One brother, Tom Smith of Columbus and Tom's
son, Levi Smith in Massachusetts.

There will be a graveside service held at 2:30
p.m. on Sunday at the Radnor, Ohio Township
Cemetery.

Locally, there will be a visitation at Kimes
Funeral Home, 521 5th Street in Parkersburg on
Saturday from 3-6 p.m.

There will be a Ceremony held at 6 p.m.
Saturday at the funeral home, Pastor Janice
Hill will officiate, with Masonic services
following.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart
Association or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
