Margaret Bunner

Margaret Bunner, 91, of Vienna, WV passed away Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the home of her caregiver.

She was born April 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Charles and Isabelle Province Emerick. She was a homemaker, a charter member of the Pioneer Antique Auto Club and a member of the Seventh Street United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Davis and her husband, Gary, of Vienna, WV and Martha Elliott and her husband, John, of Parkersburg, WV; five grandchildren, Renee Elliott, Matthew Hammett, J.D. Elliott and his wife, January, Jeff Davis and his wife, Christina, and Kimberly Hensley and her husband, Chris; seven great-grandchildren, Hezekiah, Kendyl, Zachary, Eric, Caleb, Evan and Kamryn; one brother, Frank Emerick of Springfield, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Bunner, who died June 11, 2001; and five brothers, Ralph, Bob, Clair, Joe and Lester Emerick.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Reverend Norman Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Vera E. Board

Vera Evelyn Board, 88, of Parkersburg, WV died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Ohio Valley Health Care.

She was born June 19, 1916 near Reedy in Roane County, WV, the daughter of the late James Holly and Daisy Hickman Stutler.

On February 24, 1940 Vera was married to Charles Riley Board, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2003. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who excelled as a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and attended Belleville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Cain and her husband, Richard, of Elizabeth, WV and Karen Hoff and her husband, Lyle, of Vienna, WV; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Vera was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert Stutler.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Rondal Browning officiating. Burial will be in the Two Run Cemetery in Wirt County, WV. Visitation is from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Jeffrey V. Anthony

Jeffrey V. 'Rabbit' Anthony, 43, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at his residence.

He was born October 8, 1961 in Wood County, WV, a son of Leo V. Anthony of Parkersburg, WV and the late Goldie Hall Anthony.

Along with his father, he is survived by a son, Austin Hendershot of Parkersburg, WV; a half brother, Roger Nutter of Parkersburg, WV; three half sisters, Sheila Nutter, Janet Nutter and Regina Triola, all of Parkersburg, WV; and an uncle, Nuel Anthony of Belleville, WV.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

John K. Nestor, III

John K. Nestor, III, 31, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005 at his residence.

He was born April 4, 1973 in Winter Park, Florida, a son of Theresa Villarreal Bogard of Parkersburg, WV and the late John K. Nestor, Jr. He was a student at West Virginia University - Morgantown pursuing a degree in aerospace and mechanical engineering and had been invited to join the Mensa Society.

John is survived by his mother, Theresa, and step-father, Jack Bogard, of Parkersburg, WV; a nephew, Jacob Bogard of Parkersburg, WV; two sisters, Sarah Hoosier and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Patrick, Spencer, Trevor and Faith and Jennifer Fox of Belpre, OH; his two children, Quinton Toncray and Cameron Barber; paternal grandparents, John and Hanna Nestor of Parkersburg, WV; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Jack Nestor, and his maternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Hope Free Will Baptist Church on Winding Hill Road in Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Bud Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV.

William M. Meadows

William M. 'Bill' Meadows, 50, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 9, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of William Hoye Meadows of Grantsville, WV and Retta Richards Meadows of Mount Zion, WV.

Bill had been employed at Green Pack of Parkersburg. He enjoyed bowling and the internet and was a Baptist by faith.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Debra L. Westfall Meadows; a son, William M. Meadows, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Vienna, WV; one grandson, William Austin Meadows of Davisville, WV; one sister, Ada M. Smith of Davisville, WV; one brother, John A. Meadows and his wife, Robin, of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Nola Johnston, and one brother, Denny L. Meadows.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Donald E. Clark

Donald Edward Clark, 71, died Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wood County, WV, a son of the late Virgil and Mable Westfall Clark. He retired from Cyanamid as a chemical engineer. He was a Baptist by faith and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Pamela Dotson and Donna Foggin, both of Parkersburg, WV and Tina Marshall and her husband, John, of Waverly, WV; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ramona Cale Clark; and one brother.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary A. McDougle

Mary Allen McDougle, 89, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.

She was born February 12, 1915 in Republic, MO, a daughter of the late Frank E., Sr. and Emma Lee Pipkin O'Dell. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crafts.

She is survived by one niece, Lilas Kee of Charleston, WV; one nephew, Henry Holt of Flagstaff, AZ; and two beloved friends, Gregory and Deborah Marshall of Belpre, OH.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert McDougle, in 1998; two sisters; and one brother.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 at Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre and inurnment will take place at the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Edith M. West

Edith M. West, 90, of Belpre, Ohio died Friday, February 4, 2005 at her residence.

She was born August 17, 1914 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Ithmer C. and Lucy G. Sheifer Horner. She retired from Corning Glass Works after 25 years of service and was a member of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville, WV.

Edith is survived by one niece, Vera Brothers of Vienna, WV; a caregiver, Carol Stanley of Parkersburg, WV; and special friends, Dr. Elizabeth Norod and Connie Allman of Belpre, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. West; and a brother, Charles Lee Horner.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastors Mike Allen and Bill Angel officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Sally L. Richards

Sally L. Hicks Richards, 100, of Parkersburg, WV went to be with her Lord Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the Willows Nursing Facility.

She was born October 1, 1904 in Dingus, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. William H. and Ala Jeffrey Hicks. She was a homemaker and a member of South Parkersburg United Methodist Church for 53 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women for 40 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star #140 of Parkersburg for 44 years. Sally was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Sally is survived by two nieces, Patsy Hicks Sinnett and her husband, Jack, of Belpre, OH and Barbara Flinn Reeder of Parkersburg, WV; two nephews, Charles Shafer and his wife, Pat, of Beverly, OH and Harold Hicks and his wife, Ginny, of Nutterfork, WV; one niece-in-law, Dorothy Hicks of Parkersburg, WV; one great-nephew, Harry A. Reeder of Vienna, WV; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. Richards, in 1998; two sons, Robert Lee and Charles Toby Richards; three sisters; and one brother.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Rick Brown and the Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.

Lois J. Cookson

Lois Jeanne Cookson, 81, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at Sunbridge Nursing Facility in Parkersburg, WV.

She was born July 22, 1923 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha Radcliff Hull. She was a 1941 graduate of Parkersburg High School; a World War II Navy veteran; she formerly worked at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital as a nursing assistant; and she worked at Dils Department Store as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Liberty Street Church of God where she sang in the choir and was a member of the VFW Blennerhassett Post 1212 of Parkersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Hammer and Pam Boston and her husband, Chuck, all of Parkersburg, WV; two sons, Frank Cookson and his wife, Jane, of Wilson, NC and Richard Cookson of Marietta, OH; two sisters, Lyla Modesitt of Parkersburg, WV and Susie Hill and her husband, Arch, of Wheeling, WV; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Hull.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Brian Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen South Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Irene E. Jones

Irene Elizabeth Ahart Jones, 94, of Sanford, FL, formerly of Parkersburg, WV died Monday, January 31, 2005 at her residence.

She was born June 27, 1910 in Athens, OH, a daughter of the late George and Sarah Russell Ahart. Irene spent most of her life in Parkersburg, WV where she worked the front desk at Staley's Dry Cleaners and later as a drapery consultant at Dils Brothers where she retired. She and her late husband, Barney, enjoyed camping and fishing along the Kanawha River, where they hosted many large family fish fries. Shortly after retirement, Irene and Barney moved to Miami, FL and then to Orlando, FL to be near her sister, Ruth Harrison, and family. While in Florida, Irene enjoyed bingo and attending church. She maintained her membership, however, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Parkersburg since 1965. Irene was a special 'Auntie' to many nieces and nephews. She had a heart of gold and a wonderful outlook on life. She will be missed by all whom she touched.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Harrison; one stepson, Larry Jones; several nieces and nephews, Connie Harrison, Chuck Wade, Bill Wade, Linda Ahart Affolter, Bill Ahart, Jim Ahart, Evelyn Ahart Nolan and Mary Ahart Nolan; and one great-nephew, Aaron Thiel.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Casey Stinespring officiating. Burial will be in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mamie Cooper

Mamie Cooper, 74, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.

She was born March 21, 1930 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruby Deem Allman. Mamie was a homemaker and was Baptist by faith.

Surviving are three children, Ruth Adkins and her husband, Stanley, of Mt. Alto, WV and Delbert Cooper and Teddy Allman, both of Parkersburg, WV; nine grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Cooper; two children, Shirley Underwood and George Lewis Cooper, Jr.; one sister; five brothers; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Parkersburg. Friends may call from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gilbert E. Bryan

Gilbert Eugene Bryan, 63, of Vienna, WV passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

Gilbert was born June 11, 1941 in Marietta, Ohio. He was a member of South Parkersburg Jehovah's Witnesses and worked for many years at Iddings Trucking in Lowell, Ohio as a truck driver. In 1958, he married Rebecca E. Green. They would have been married 47 years on June 6, 2005.

He has three children, Mark and his wife, Dee, of Veto, OH, Michael and his wife, Jennie, of Marietta, OH and Becky Rae Rollison and her husband, Donnie, of Waterford, OH; a sister, Joyce Skinner of Marietta, OH; eight grandchildren, April of Vienna, WV, Eric of Parkersburg, WV, Michael of Marietta, OH, Aaron of Vienna, WV, Jenna of Veto, OH, Courtney and Jamie of Waterford, OH and Melanie of Lubeck, WV; five great-grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, Amory, his youngest and sweet granddaughter, Dillon Scott, McKinzie, Abby and Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma Gilchrist Bryan Stanley; one brother, Allen Lee; and a sister, Lynette Stanley.

Gilbert was a hard worker who loved his family very much and he will be greatly missed. There will be no funeral services. These were his wishes.

Jean M. Mylar

Jean Marie Langfitt Mylar, 77, of Vienna, WV died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late William B. and Virginia Marie Wright Langfitt. She was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from Parkersburg Community College. She had worked several years for Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Parkersburg Chapter 14 and the North Parkersburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of over 19 years, Harry C. Mylar; a daughter, Mardeen Rogers of Greensburg, PA; a son, Jeffery King of Akron, OH; a stepson, Ryan King of Parkersburg, WV; four grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Aleine Langfitt; and an infant son, Charles King.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at North Parkersburg Baptist Church, 3109 Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Kent Boone officiating. Burial will be in the Paden Memorial Gardens near Paden City, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Christian School, 3109 Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
