Betty J. Kirby

Betty Jean Kirby, 72, of Riverview, Florida passed into the Lord's loving arms on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at her residence.

She was born April 3, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Okey and Ollie Belknap Blosser.

Betty was a full-time employee of Brooker Elementary School in Brandon, FL and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Kirby; eight children, Cathy Metz of St. Marys, WV, Donna Sands of Brandon, FL, Sandra Gwynn of Parkersburg, WV, Robert J. Kirby of Pensacola, FL, Susan Holland of Orlando, FL, Bruce Kirby of Richmond, VA, Tina Williams of St. Marys, WV and Lisa Straight of St. Marys, WV; two brothers, Clifton Blosser of New Matamoras, OH and Ralph 'Sonny' Blosser of Parkersburg, WV; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol McIntire.

A celebration of her life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. Gene Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. William Combs

The Reverend William L. 'Bud' Combs, 78, of Parkersburg, WV went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Willows Nursing Facility.

He was born July 5, 1926 in Maysville, KY, a son of the late Earl and Jessie Mineer Combs.

Rev. Combs was the current pastor of the Wesleyan Chapel Church and for the past several years, he was an employee of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Services.

Bud is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Rosetta Souder Combs; ten children; forty-one grandchildren; sixty-two great-grandchildren; and five sisters.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three children; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one brother.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Pastors Winfield Poe and Alan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests donations be made in memory of Pastor Combs to the Wesleyan Chapel Church, attn: Pearl Byers, Treasurer, Route 3, Box 285-A, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Ralph W. Enoch

Ralph Wilmer 'Elby' Enoch, 86, of Parkersburg, WV traveled home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. While on this earth, many lives were touched by his passion and love for life.

Elby was born July 30, 1918 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Clarence Elbert and Elsie Roberts Enoch. In his 86 years, he enjoyed life to the fullest sharing it with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many beloved friends. He touched everyone's soul in his own special way. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received four medals for meritorious service. He was retired from Johns Mansville with 34 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Senior Men's Golf League at Worthington Golf Course. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Elby was a Big Red football player and a huge fan. He loved to dance, fish, hunt, golf and spend time on the river.

He is survived by his children, Gene and Barbara Enoch of Fort Myers, FL, Gerald and Bonnie Enoch of Parkersburg, WV, William Gilbert of Pensacola, FL, Michael Enoch of Las Vegas, NV, Nancy and Doug Batton of Pensacola, FL, Joseph and Maria Enoch of Bay City, TX, Karen and Keith Turner of Vienna, WV and Bill Lee of Vienna, WV; one brother, Clarence 'June' E., Jr. and wife, Verona Enoch, of Vienna, WV; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four wonderful caregivers, Marcy, Sheryl, Patti and Gloria.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Dare Enoch; his second wife, Edna Buckner Enoch; his third wife, Grace Hartleben Enoch; a grandson, Brian Gilbert; and three brothers, Freeman Enoch, Gilford 'Jack' Enoch and Denver Enoch.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with the Rev. R. Michael Goff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Friends may call from 2 - 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Geraldine M. Starcher

Geraldine Marie Bland Starcher, 95, of Parkersburg, WV died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.

She was born in Bull River, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey and Martha Jane Ball Bland. She was the former owner and operator of Starcher's Grocery Store and Service Station in Pleasant Hill, WV and was a member of the Chapel Baptist Church in Nobe, WV.

She is survived by four daughters, Janet Ramona Holliday and her husband, John, of Newark, OH, Phyllis L. Fetty and her husband, Patrick, of Sweet Springs, WV, Roberta R. McCoy and her husband, Jim, of Smithville, WV and Beverly Ann Prince and her husband, Bill, of Smithville, WV; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alton Starcher; a daughter, Carolyn J. Starcher; a grandson, James C. McCoy; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Gene Hutton officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Nobe, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mary J. Rasel

Mary Jackson Rasel, 77, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Marietta Nursing and Rehab Center, Marietta, Ohio.

She was born February 6, 1927 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late James M. and Edna Mellinger Jackson. She had worked at Corning Glass, Sears, Hallmark and as a real estate agent. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, had served as a former YWCA Board member and served as a volunteer for both the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She was an avid gardener and a true lover of all nature.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Rasel Tribett, and her husband, Stephen, of Fleming, OH; one sister, Betty Jackson Farnsworth of Parkersburg, WV; two grandchildren, Jason and Justin Tribett of Parkersburg, WV; one niece; one nephew; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley 'Roz' Rasel, Jr. in 1995.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Reverend James Kinsler officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday and one prior to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice.

Norma J. Taylor

Norma June Taylor, 87, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1918 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Norman Alfred and May Goldman Oakes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Memorial Church in Parkersburg.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Anne Glore, and her husband, Curtis Andrew Glore, of Coolville, OH, and Ida Mae Prior and Patricia Jones, both of Parkersburg, WV; seven grandchildren, Michael Robert Lewis of Ft. Collins, CO, Roger Lee Powers of St. Louis, MO, LeAnne Smithy of St. Louis, MO, Theresa Gayle Ridenour of Parkersburg, WV, Sharon Kay Goudy of Parkersburg, WV, Paul Anthony Kirk of Vienna, WV and Kenneth Dow Jones of W-Seneca, NY; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mearl Dow Taylor; one brother, Alfred Leroy Oakes; one sister, Eileen Kathlyn Camper; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Calvary Memorial Church, Parkersburg with Pastor Robb Collins and Pastor Wilson Strickhausen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

David M. Bailey

David M. Bailey, 47, of Parkersburg, WV departed this life on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born December 23, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Mary Jo Beeman Bailey and Gerald K. Bailey.

He attended Parkersburg Catholic schools. After high school, he was a member of the United States Army serving in the Special Forces Unit. He had been employed in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and was a Catholic by faith.

David is survived by his companion and fiancé, Cindy Lutz Whitehead, and her daughter, Savannah; his two daughters, Elizabeth Bailey Gandee (Stephen) of Parkersburg, WV and Christina Bailey Carpenter (Drew) of Quaker City, OH; three grandchildren, Brandon Gandee of Parkersburg, WV and Devon and Alexandria Carpenter of Quaker City, OH; one sister, Anna Bailey Schultheis (Kirk) of Parkersburg, WV; nephew and nieces, Jake, Paige and Allie Schultheis, all of Parkersburg, WV; and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. David was especially close to the entire Lutz family as well as his special pal, Smedley.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and an infant granddaughter, Alyssa Gandee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Reverend Casey Mahone officiating. Burial will be in the St. Xavier Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV.

Kenneth J. Marucci

Kenneth Joseph Marucci, 47, formerly of Vienna, WV passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at St. Lucie Medical Center in St. Lucie, Florida.

He was born April 13, 1957 in Cleveland, OH, a son of Josephine Giallombardo Marucci of Kingsport, TN and the late Joseph Marucci. He was a graduate of Marietta High School and Marietta College where he was a four-year member of the golf team. He was employed for 17 years with Resource Consultants Development, Inc. of Parkersburg, WV and was currently working at Tampa Bay Mortgage in St. Lucie, FL. Kenneth had coached his daughter's softball team for 11 years and was an avid fan during her high school softball career. He was the treasurer of the Parkersburg Catholic Athletic Association during his son's football career and served on many committees for Parkersburg Catholic. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Vienna, WV. Over the years, he was a member of the Men's Group, served on the board of Sunrise Preschool, was a member of the Finance Committee and served as president of the Parish Council. He also served on the board of the Parkersburg Art Center and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he helped with bingo when needed.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pam 'Neely' Marucci; a daughter, Kristina Marucci of Huntington, WV; a son, Nicholas Marucci of Port St. Lucie, FL; a brother, Jack Marucci and his wife, Lynne, of Houston, TX; two sisters, Mary Jo McCarty and her husband, Paul, of Kingsport, TN and Kathy Marucci of Ellicott City, MD; three nephews, Alex and Anthony Marucci of Houston, TX and Christopher Cochrane of Parkersburg, WV; and ten nieces, Gina Marucci of Houston, TX, Megan Downs of Greenville, SC, Kerry McCarty of Atlanta, GA, Katie McCarty of Kingsport, TN, Kathleen Cochrane of Cleveland, OH, Lauren Morgan of St. Marys, WV, Sara Neely and Caroline Neely, both of Richmond, KY and Morgan VanScoy and Taylor VanScoy, both of Pennsboro, WV.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 55th and Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Father James Chetock officiating. Burial will follow in the New St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Marietta, OH. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV. A Christian Wake service will he held 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Friends of Greyhounds.

Ruth A. Ellison

Ruth Ann Ellison, 68, of Elizabeth, WV died Friday, March 25, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.

She was born March 20, 1937 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Herldy Harrison and Goldie Bailey Cline. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by one son, Michael Paul Ellison of Elizabeth, WV; one daughter, Debra Ann Neptune and her husband, Marvin, of Elizabeth, WV; three step grandchildren, Donavin and Daniel Neptune and Jessica Townsend, all of Elizabeth, WV; one brother, Herldy Harrison Cline, Jr. and his wife, June, of Ohio; one sister, Patsy Lea Kelly of Boaz, WV; and a beloved friend, Sandra Watson, of Elizabeth, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Paul Ellison; and five brothers, William, twin brothers, Robert and Richard, Charles and Carl Cline.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Wirt County, WV. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Dorothy M. Decker

Dorothy Marie Horne Decker, 88, of Vienna, WV passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born February 4, 1917 in Red Springs, NC, a daughter of the late William and Clara Callahan Horne.

Dorothy was a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she earned a B.A. in arts and history. She was an art teacher and an outstanding local artist with paintings and portraits of family and other prominent officials that are displayed in local, state and national exhibits. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Fred A. Decker, III of Charleston, WV and Daniel H. Decker of Vienna, WV; one daughter, Julie Weaver of Vienna, WV; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Ailor of Richmond, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Decker, Jr. and one brother, William Van Horne.

Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Pastor Jim Mike Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 - 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Artsbridge of Parkersburg, 935 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101 or to the American Cancer Society.

Robert P. Cain, Sr.

Robert P. 'Bob' Cain, Sr. 72, of Washington, WV passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at the Charleston Area Medical Center.

He was born March 19, 1933 in Wirt County, WV, a son of the late Charlie and Minnie Ash Cain.

Bob was self-employed as a water well driller for more than 50 years.

Surviving are his wife, June Schultz Cain, of Washington; four sons, Bob P. Cain, Jr., Willie Cain, Charlie Cain and his wife, Linda, all of Washington, WV and Mike Cain and his wife, Cindy, of Parkersburg, WV; one daughter, Barbara Tucker and her husband, Jim, of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Virgil Cain of Davisville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday and from 1 -3 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV.

Leland D. Gault

Leland D. Gault, 65, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 3, 1940 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Okey and Zelma Thompson Gault. He graduated from Parkersburg High School, class of 1958, was a U.S. Army veteran, was retired from the Pechiney Co. in Ravenswood, WV and enjoyed playing horse shoes, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Oldaker Gault; two daughters and their husbands, Robin and Craig Wade and Kim and Andy Corley, all of Washington, WV; two grandsons, Drew and Dustin Corley of Washington, WV; two brothers, Lionel Gault of Melbourne, FL and Larry Gault of Myrtle Beach, SC; mother-in-law, Geraldine Mohr of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
