Clara E. Lounsbury

Clara E. Lounsbury, 82, of Parkersburg, WV died Monday, March 21, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 11, 1922 in Wirt County, WV, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Ethel Hickman Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Hall.

Clara is survived by her dedicated husband, George Lounsbury, whom she was married to for 40 years. They loved each other dearly and saw a lot together. Clara was an invalid for the past 15 years and was very familiar with pain and hardship. She is now with her Lord and family in heaven. Clara read her Bible and loved Isaiah Chapter 43.

There will be no funeral or visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV.

Howard E. Joachim

'Humble' Howard Edward Joachim, 76, of Parkersburg, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2005 at his residence.

He was born in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Eli W. and Ronnie Deem Joachim. He was owner and operator of Fulton Refrigeration for over 56 years and was part owner of The Locker Room. He was a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church, BPOE 198, VFW Post 1212, American Legion Post 15, DAV Chapter 6, FOE Aerie 2307, Loyal Order of Moose 1118 and Ducks Unlimited. He was a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Pearl Vanscoy Joachim; two sons, Rodney H. Joachim and his fiancé, Susan Abdella, of Parkersburg, WV and Donald R. Joachim and his his wife, Diana, of Williamstown, WV; two daughters, Brenda S. Cozart and her husband, Jerry, of Linville, VA and Tami L. VanCamp and her husband, Detmer, of Lancaster, OH; a sister, Janet S. Myers of Rotonda West, FL; nine grandchildren, Dannie Joachim, Tracy Hixon, Rodney Howard 'JR' Joachim, Jeff Cozart, Derrik VanCamp, Greg Joachim, Wendy Cozart, Jessica VanCamp and Patsy Joachim; and two-and-a-half great-grandchildren, Nickoles VanCamp, Brennen Joachim and Baby Girl Joachim.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence 'Smokey' Joachim.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend John F. Koerner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 15. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Blandis N. Martin

Blandis N. Martin, 81, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.

She was born November 25, 1923 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Lena Dakin Tanner, formally of Elizabeth, WV.

Blandis was retired from Tri-State Roofing and was a member of the Wayside United Methodist Church, Vienna.

Surviving are her two sons and their wives, Michael L. and Kay Martin of Vienna, WV and Stephen A. and Teresa Martin of Fuquay-Varina, NC; four grandchildren, Amy Gherke and her husband, Pat, Abby Hanshaw and her husband, Ric, Aaron Martin and Kendall Martin; four great-grandchildren, Danielle and Allison Gherke and Cole and Cameron Hanshaw; and one sister and her husband, Gladys and Bill Arduini of Belpre, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayman Martin; and one brother, Delbert Tanner.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Joe Kenaston officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens & Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Jack W. Treharne

Jack W. Treharne, 93, of Vienna, WV passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at The Wyngate Senior Living Community.

He was born December 9, 1911 at Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late David R. and Mary Kinsey Treharne. Jack was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School and Denison University, Granville, Ohio, with a bachelor's degree of arts and business administration. He was director of development at Alderson-Broaddus for 11 years and the co-owner of 7-Up Bottling in Parkersburg. Jack was a founding member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkersburg; a 50 year member of Rotary; a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge 169; an active supporter of the Boys Club, where he was on the Board of the Boys Club and held one year as President; he represented West Virginia with the American Baptist Convention Board at Valley Forge, PA for two terms; he was a U.S. Army veteran with the U.S. Army War Training Service (WTS) in Huntington, WV; a flight instructor of Navy and Army cadets based at Marshall College from 1942 - 1944; and foreman in charge of production of the N8A Military Gun Sight at Zenith Optical, Huntington, WV.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Ann Mandry Treharne of Vienna, WV; three children, Judith Sandord and her husband, John, of Worthington, OH, John W. (Jack) Treharne, M.D. and his wife, Bridget, of Winter Park, FL and Patricia Treharne, M.D. and her husband, Mike Sims, of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Adam Garrett and his wife, Ania, John Garrett and his wife, Jill, Kathryn Treharne and Daniel Treharne; one nephew, David Treharne and his wife, Judy, of Parkersburg, WV; and one niece, Jean Wagner and her husband, Walt, of Mesa, AZ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Evan Treharne; and his brother, Samuel Treharne.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710 23rd Street, Parkersburg, WV with Dr. Kurt Busiek officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 -4 and 6 -8 p.m. Sunday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV and one hour prior to service time Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Education Scholarship Fund or to Alderson-Broaddus, Jack and Ann Treharne Scholarship, Philippi, WV 26416.

Ruth A. Phillips

Ruth A. Phillips, 93, of Valley Mills passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Arbors of Marietta, Ohio.

She was born October 27, 1911 in Jackson County, WV, a daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary K. Milhoan Shields.

Ruth was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was previously a 4-H leader for the Tally Ho 4-H Club for more than 10 years and a member of the Valley Mills Homemaker Club, where she was elected Homemaker of the Year in 1984. She enjoyed crafts and made her own patterns, along with donating the quilts she made to be sold at auctions. She was called grandmother by all the children in the neighborhood and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by three sons, Charles Edward Phillips and his wife, Dolores, of Parkersburg, WV, John E. Phillips and his wife, Berdena, of Valley Mills and William M. Phillips and his fiancée, Arlene, of Washington, WV; two daughters, Elsie M. Bowens and her husband, Fairley, of Marietta, OH and Patricia J. Santee and her husband, Jim, of Valley Mills; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances L. Phillips; and six brothers and sisters, Rowena Phillips, Georgia Gulliford, James Shields, Robert Shields, Edra Wickiser and Kenna Shields.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Earl Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Liverpool Cemetery in Jackson County, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Vera Twyman

Vera Twyman, 69, of south Parkersburg, WV passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Arbors of Marietta, Ohio.

She was born March 11, 1936 in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred Hull Allen. Vera was retired from St. Joseph's Hospital where she worked as a L.P.N. She was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church, a member of Eastern Star Chapter 14 and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Andrew B. Twyman; three sons and their wives, Larry and Cathy Twyman of Houston, TX, Mike and Brenda Twyman of Parkersburg, WV and David and Candy Twyman of Pickerington, OH; six grandchildren, Daniel, Laura and Jennifer Twyman of Houston, TX, Autumn Humbertson of Parkersburg, WV and Nicholas and Allison Twyman of Pickerington, OH; and one brother, Charles Allen, and his wife, Phyliss, of Cincinnati, OH.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Allen.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend R. Michael Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 p.m. Saturday with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the Shriner's Hospital.

Thelma E. Blair

Thelma Ernestine Fisher Blair, 95, of Parkersburg, WV died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the Ravenswood Care Center.

She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, a daughter of the late Edward E. and Virgie Hart Fisher. She retired from the American Viscose Corporation as a secretary after more than 30 years of service. She was the oldest member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ where she was a member for 81 years.

She is survived by her nephew, Gary E. Fisher of Little Hocking, OH; her niece, Diane Egelston of Beaver Lake, NE; and three great-nephews, Jason Fisher of Shamokin, PA, Ryan Fisher of Seward, Alaska and Scott Egelston of Las Vegas, NV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Caryl Blair, in 1982; a brother, Dr. Edward J. Fisher; and a sister, Hester Fisher.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials made be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Grace E. Baker

Grace Eula Mace Baker, 87, of Vienna, WV passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at her residence.

She was born July 19, 1917 in Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of the late Bert and Ina N. Starcher Mace.

Grace was retired from G.C. Murphy and was member of the Wayside United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star/White Shrine of Vienna.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Ann Hays of Parkersburg, WV; three grandsons, Thomas Hays and his wife, Kathy, of Vienna, WV, Wesley Hays of Parkersburg, WV and Scott Baker of Vienna, WV; one granddaughter, Christine McCraken and her husband, David, of Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geneva Luikart and her husband, Darrell, of Nitro, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Baker; her son, Earl Baker, Jr.; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Rev. Gene Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond W. Scott

Raymond Wendell Scott, 85, of Vienna, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2005.

He was born in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Richard and Martha Ann Walker Scott. He worked several years as a salesman for a food chain. He was a member of The Independent Baptist Church, where he was a charter member. He was a member of South Charleston Lodge 168 AF&AM; and a 32nd Degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife of seven years, Mary Waybright Scott; four stepsons, Delbert Parsons and his wife, Cathy, of Bowie, MD, Randall Parsons and his wife, Jenny, of Vienna, WV, James Parsons and his wife, Stephanie, of Vienna, WV and Clarence Paul Parsons and his wife, Bobbie, of Laurel, MD; three stepdaughters, Margaret Carter and her husband, Don, of Vienna, WV, Sharon Kay Lewis of Parkersburg, WV and Nancy Jean Fifer of Portsmouth, VA; a brother, Elwood Scott of Jacksonville, FL; twelve step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Reva Scott; and a brother, Junior B. Scott.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Robert May and the Reverend Wesley Vernatter officiating. Entombment will follow in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Vance E. Jones

Vance E. Jones, 77, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at his residence.

He was born July 14, 1927 in Grafton, WV, a son of the late Russell and Edna Collins Jones. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a Mason and retired from E.I. DuPont as a foreman after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth JoAnne Buchanan Jones; two daughters, Deborah Jones and Sharon Grossenbacher, both of Parkersburg, WV; two sons, Matthew Jones of Parkersburg, WV and Timothy Jones of Ft. Myers, FL; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Regina Thomas of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Jones; one grandson, Joseph Jones; and two brothers, Earl Jones and Ronald Jones.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend John Koerner officiating. Burial will follow in the Cairo Masonic Cemetery at Cairo, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Kathryn Johnson

Kathryn Johnson, 83, of Belpre, Ohio died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 1, 1922 in Racine, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Frances Pickens Frazer. Kathryn formerly worked at E.I. DuPont as a cashier and worked at several local restaurants, including Vera's Lunch and The Redwood Restaurant. She was a Christian by faith.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Calvin Levi Johnson; two sons and their wives, Robert and Darlene Johnson of Vincent, OH and Ronald and Patricia Johnson of Belpre, OH; two brothers, Billy Frazer of Baltimore, OH and Chuck Frazer of California; one sister, Lula Bell Cochran of Stockport, OH; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Johnson; four sisters; four brothers; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Freda Robinson

Freda Mahaney Robinson, 94, formerly of Vienna, WV died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Selby General Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.

She was born April 17, 1910 in Belpre, Ohio, the daughter of the late Homer and Ida Rubolds Mahaney. She lived in Vienna most of her life, where she worked at the old silk mill and was co-owner and operator of Robinson's Grocery Store for 30 years with her late husband, Denver Robinson. She was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church for over 50 years. She had resided for the past five years with her nephew, Joe Robinson, and his wife, Debbie, of Belpre, Ohio.

Surviving are one brother, Homer Mahaney, of Williamstown, WV; one sister, Pauline Holleron, of Nitro, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Showalter; a brother, Lewis Mahaney; and her husband of 58 years, Denver Robinson.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Nathan E. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
