James R. Payne
James R. “Jimmy” Payne, 81, of Winfield died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at home.
He was retired from Monsanto Corporation, Nitro, with 32 years of service and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He was the last of his generation and was preceded in death by his wife, Norma L. Payne, and his parents, Charles Christopher and Grace Mae Kirk Payne.
Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann “Jeannie” and Elmer Young of Winfield; son and daughter-in-law, James Michael and Madeline Payne of Hinton; grandchildren, J.T. Payne, Katie Oliveros and husband, Jesse, and Molly Young.
Service was held Friday, March 31, 2006, at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield, with the Rev. James A. Walther officiating. Burial was in the Payne family Cemetery, Winfield.

William R. Richardson Jr.
William Ray Richardson Jr., 82, of Poca died March 28, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Elizabeth Taylor and William Ray Richardson Sr. and wife, Beulah.
Surviving: sons and daughters-in-law, William Ray III and Virginia Richardson of Lafayette, Indiana, Jack and Brenda Eastwood of Poca; daughter and son-in-law, LeaAnn R. and John Lersch of Leon; grandchildren, Yvette Worthington of Lafayette, Anita Wachstetter of Greenwood, Indiana, Stephanie White of Charleston, Ashley White of South Charleston, Tony Byrum of Norfolk, Virginia, Dalene Byrum of Lafayette, and Michael Lersch of Elkview; seven great-grandchildren.
Service was held Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with Pastor Jeff Pitchford officiating. Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Margaret J. Rollyson
Margaret J. Rollyson, 89, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, formerly of Winfield, died March 24, 2006 following a long illness.
Born June 28, 1916 in Braxton County, she was a daughter of the late French and Chantilla Moore Rollyson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Grand Blanc, and a former member of Winfield Baptist Church. She was retired from the Farmers Home Administration with over 30 years of service.
Surviving: nieces, Betty Beardsley of Reno, Ohio and Priscilla Rollyson of Marietta, Ohio; nephews, John Frazier of Grand Blanc, David Rollyson and Stephen Rollyson, both of Valdez, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Mary C. Rollyson of Swansboro, North Carolina.
Service was held Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield, with the Rev. E. Ted Wall and the Rev. David Johns officiating. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Georgia M. Glenn
Georgia M. Glenn, 89, of Winfield died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Teays Valley Center, Hurricane.
She was a homemaker and resident of the Teays Valley Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Glenn.
Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Carsie “Kitty” and Charles Moore of Winfield; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Diana Smith of Poca; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with the Rev. John Hayes officiating. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.
Cecil Thomas Hill Jr.
Cecil Thomas Hill Jr., 90, of Winfield died March 31, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House.
He was a retired millwright from FMC and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Thomas and Anna Margaret Hill, son, David Lee Hill, sisters, Julia Overstreet, Faye Johnston and Olive Matheny, brothers, Cyrus, Donald and Charles “Doc” Hill, grandchildren, Jon Mitchell Hoover, David Lee Hoover and Christy Lynn Hoover.
Surviving: wife, Frances Eileen Hill; sons, Dale Richard Hill and wife, Lorraine, of Missoula, Montana, Cecil Thomas Hill III and wife, Robin, of Cleveland, Georgia, Michael Keith Hill and wife, Robin, of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter Marybeth Sargent and husband, Dana, of Scott Depot; brothers, Robert Hill of San Antonio, Texas , Glen Hill of Port Reading, New Jersey, and Lee Franklin Hill of South Charleston; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
Service was held Monday, April 3, 2006, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Mike Rader officiating. Burial with military rites was in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Ira L. Wines
Ira L. Wines, 84, of Liberty died March 30, 2006, at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness.
He was born February 7, 1922 and was a 32-year resident of Liberty. He was retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company with 32 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Birtie Ellen Wines, brothers, Dennie M. Wines and Shirley Issac Wines, sisters, Mabel Fetty and Ruby D. Wines, and son, Kermit L. Wines.
Surviving: his wife of 42 years, Norma J. Harding Wines; sons, Harold “Hardy” Harding and wife, Susie, of Ashford, Bobby L. Wines and wife, Carol, of Hurricane, Derek Dickens and companion, Brandy Cochran, Sean Michael Wines and girlfriend, Stephanie Grass, all of Nitro; daughters, Dreama Proctor and companion, Richard Vance, of Charleston, Carolyn Dickens and companion, Jeff Norris, of Bancroft, Etta McCormick and husband, Doc, of Nitro; sisters, Lula Marion of Parkersburg and Mary Opal Hackney of Sissonville; 16 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Service was held Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca, with the Rev. Wayne Coger officiating. Burial was in Emma Chapel Cemetery.
Naomi Ruth Whytsell
Naomi Ruth Whytsell died February 22, 2006, at Putnam General Hospital following a long illness.
A graveside memorial service was held Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Carter Payne
Robert Carter Payne, 55, of Hurricane died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Putnam General Hospital.
He was born February 5, 1951 in Huntington, a son of Rachel Carter Payne of Huntington and the late John Payne.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a former employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center, Putnam General Hospital and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was a former coroner for Cabell and Wayne Counties, for the State of West Virginia. He currently was an employee of CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Surviving: wife, Randi Chambers Payne; sons, Douglas MacKenzie “Mac” Payne of Charlotte, North Carolina and Logan Brendan Payne at home; sister, Karen Cadwell of Huntington; father- and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Janet Chambers of Culloden.
Service was held Monday, April 3, 2006, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park.

Harold A. Randolph
Harold Allen Randolph, 68, of Poca, formerly of the Charleston area, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after complications from pneumonia.
He was a retired plumber and a member of the Adda Baptist Church, Hurricane, and was also known as Pa-Paw to all his CB radio friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Mae Randolph.
Surviving: sons, Allen Randolph, Bob Quinn and wife, Cindy, Mike Randolph, all of Naples, Florida, and Bobby Randolph and wife, Penny, of Hurricane; daughters, Vicki Randolph of Naples and Kim Taylor and husband, David, of Hurricane; brother, A.D. Randolph of Naples; sisters, Eddyth Buckingham of Naples and Karen Armstrong of Pendleton County; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Service was held Monday, April 3, 2006, at Myers Funeral Home, Elkview, with the Rev. Tim Gilfilen officiating. Burial was in Rock Memorial Gardens, Elkview.
