Gusty D. Snyder

Gusty Daniel Snyder, 82, of Belpre, Ohio died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born on December 10, 1922 in Wood County, WV, a son of the late Daniel and Lottie Greathouse Snyder. He retired from the B&O; Railroad as a trackman and machine operator. He was a Protestant by faith.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna Harris Snyder; three daughters, Debbie Collins and Dolly Freeland, both of Belpre, OH and Mary Nelson of Ravenswood, WV; two sons, Ron and Don Snyder, both of Belpre, OH; twelve grandchildren, Jass and his companion, Dreama, Dink, Tracy, Ronnie, Daniel, Serena, Evie, Jeremy, Timmy, Joel, Cindy and Brandy; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roy (Bud), Dennis, Raymond, Jr. and Ernie; and four sisters, Beulah, Mary, Geneva and Kathryn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, OH with the Reverend Kenneth Fullerton officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Beverly A. Vincent

Beverly Ann Vincent, 66, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at her home with her family by her side. She is reunited in death with her beloved husband, Earl. A. Vincent, and her parents, Chester Paul and Jesse Backus.

She was born November 6, 1938 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Chester Paul and Jesse Bailey Backus. She was retired from WalMart as an associate, was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ and a former member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ.

Beverly is survived her daughter, Cathy McDonald and her husband, Nelson, of Parkersburg, WV; her son, Michael Vincent and his wife, Debbie, of Parkersburg, WV; her son, David Fluharty and his wife, Angela, of Parkersburg, WV; her daughter, Brenda Smith and her husband, Randy, of Parkersburg, WV; her son, Steve Fluharty and his wife, Kelly, of Xenia, OH; one brother, Chet Backus and his wife, Kathy, of Parkersburg, WV; ten grandchildren, Jason McDonald and his wife, Kristi, Angie McDonald, Kellee Kabealo and her husband, Mike, Becky Fluharty, Ben Fluharty, Ashley Fluharty, Rodney Smith, Josh Smith, Christopher Smith and Matthew Smith; four great-grandchildren; a nephew, Phil Backus and his wife, Angie; nieces, Michelle Korson and her husband, Jarrod, and Kimberly Backus; and two cousins, Barb Louden and Donna Casto.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Vincent, in 1991.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Evangelist Dana Slingluff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkersburg High School Big Red Band, 2101 Dudley Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101 in care of Mr. Earl Corrothers.

Dale V. Weaver

Dale V. 'Fuzz' Weaver, 69, of Boaz, WV passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 8, 1935 in Vienna, WV, the fourth of seven children of the late Raymond Clyde and Viola Ernie (Pugh) Weaver.

He studied art and photography classes while attending college in Milwaukee, WI. He worked for Ladish in Cudahy, WI, Bucyrus-Erie in South Milwaukee, WI, Dravo in Marietta, OH and was the owner of Weaver's Lawn and Garden. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the south Parkersburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He is survived by one son, Dale A. Weaver of Morgantown, WV; one daughter, Diane E. Weaver of Vienna, WV; one brother, Samuel I. and his wife, Brenda J., of Washington, WV; two sisters, Grace M. Buchanan of Belpre, OH and Ruth M. Riggs and her husband, Denzil, of Elizabeth, WV; two sisters-in-law, Emily Jarecki of South Milwaukee, WI and Carolyn Orlowski of Hartland, WI; various aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny L. Weaver; his wife of 35 years, Bea E. Orlowski Weaver; two brothers, Paul E. and Garland R. Weaver; and one sister, Mary R. Beanard.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Hank Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A family gathering is being planned and will be held following the graveside services.

Deuteronomy Wilfong

Deuteronomy Wilfong, 92, of Belpre, OH passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005 peacefully at home.

He was born January 7, 1913 on Duck Run in Glenville, WV, a son of the late Charles William and Ganette B. Wade Wilfong. He was the last of their eleven children. He came to Ohio in 1946 and had worked for Remington Rand Company of Marietta, OH for 15 years. He also worked for the City of Belpre street department for 13 years where he retired. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the 391st Tank Destroyer Battalion in France, Germany and Luxemburg under the command of General George S. Patton. He was Pentecostal by faith.

He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Gwen Raucci and her husband, Rick, of Belpre, OH; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 54 years, Dolly Mae Beall Wilfong; seven brothers, Whetzel, Shirley, Carl, Russell, Janet, Elihue and Charles (Toddy); and three sisters, Evalee, Genevive (Sissy) Collins and Nellie B. Moore.

Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, OH with Elder Clair R. Ruble officiating. Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre with full military honors by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg, WV. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Judith A. Lowther

Judith A. Lowther, 63, of Parkersburg, WV departed this life in peace to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 after a brief illness.

She was born in Wood County, WV on February 22, 1942, a daughter of the late Fielding P. and Ella M. Varner Metz. She was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg High School and worked at E.I. DuPont Company and was a Christian and loyal member ob the Baptist Temple in Parkersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Dannette Bonnett of Parkersburg, WV and Mary Valentine and her husband, Mark, of Ostrander, OH; one son, David Lowther of Parkersburg, WV; five grandchildren, Jeff Bonnett, Carrie Lowther, Allen Lowther, Megan Valentine and Markie Valentine; one great-grandson, Gavin Bonnett; three sisters, Shirley 'Kate' White and her husband, Curtis, of Williamstown, WV, Sharon Williams and her husband, Bob, of south Parkersburg, WV, and Barbara Kirl and her husband, Paul, of Walker, WV; and one brother, Tom Hall and his wife, Betty, of Parkersburg, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan Lowther; four sisters, Jessie Starcher, Dorothy Kirl, Mary Deem and Marie Moss; and four brothers, Frank, Gene, Jack and Roger Metz.

Judy will always be remembered as a kind and loving person who put her family and others before herself. She was a true believer and will surely be at peace with our Lord in Heaven. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Kathryn K. Cauley

Kathryn Kay Hopkins Cauley, 46, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, died December 14, 2004 at Leesburg General Hospital in Leesburg, FL.

She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of Helen Foutty Schweikert of Edgewater, FL and the late Durwood G. Hopkins. She was formerly employed by Big Bear, United Bank and Community Bank. She was a Methodist by faith.

Other survivors include her stepfather, Edward Schweikert of Edgewater, FL; a son, Jason T. Stephens of Washington, WV; two brothers, Dana Hopkins of Ocoee, FL and Joseph Hopkins of Florida; a sister, Kelly Goodwin and her husband, Karl, of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating. Inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to the American Diabetic Association.

Glenda L. Daggett

Glenda L. Daggett, 60, of Mineral Wells, WV passed away Saturday morning, April 23, 2005 at her home.

She was born May 27, 1944 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Wilson and Jessie Harrison Oldaker. Glenda was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, worked for several years at Nashua Photo and attended the Rockport Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Daggett, of Mineral Wells, WV; her sons, Billy Lerch and wife, Debbie, of Vienna, WV and Kurt Lerch and wife, Sally, of Vincent, OH; her daughter, Barbara Harrison and husband, Steve, of Wildomar, CA; eight grandchildren; brothers, Henry (Hank), William (Butch) and Roger Oldaker; sisters, Kathleen Lucas, Debbie McVey and Barb Hegedus; sister-in-law, Coralee Oldaker; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Carrie Alleman.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mick, and her former husband and father of her children, Jacob 'Bill' Lerch.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Evangelist Steve Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery in south Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockport Church of Christ or Housecalls-Hospice of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

Alfred E. Hall, Jr.

Alfred E. Hall, Jr., 60, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Friday, June 3, 2005 after an extended illness.

Alfred was a special man, known for his smile and his big, blue eyes. He never met a stranger, and had a way of making your day with his friendly wave and gestures of love. Although he dealt with many physical problems throughout his life, Alfred believed in the power of prayer and beat the odds many times thanks to his strong belief in God. As a Church of God pastor's son, Alfred attended several churches over the years including the Camden Ave. Church of God and most recently the 19th St. Church of God in Parkersburg. He also enjoyed going to different churches to sing with his friend and respite worker Bob and never forgot the words to any son that he heard.

Alfred attended school at Westbrook services where he made many friends over the years. Recently he was blessed with the opportunity to live with his 'extended family' at Stella II, one of the homes at Westbrook services. Some of his favorite pastimes while there were cookouts, going to the airport on Friday nights and of course, 'cruisin' in the Mustang' with his best friend Tony. He also enjoyed bowling, going to football games and watching his favorite Cincinnati Reds play baseball.

He was born May 9, 1945 in Marietta, Ohio a son of the late Alfred E. and Iona Burns Hall.

He is survived by two brothers, John W. Hall and his wife Sharon and Thomas A. Hall and his wife Millie both of Parkersburg; a sister, Karen Mowery and her husband Daniel of Belpre, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ayla Mae Hall.

A celebration of Alfred's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor J. Wayne Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Bill J. Workman

Bill J. Workman, 65, of Parkersburg passed away June 2, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after a long illness with strokes.

Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill grew up in Huntington, WV and served in the United States Army. After the Army, he worked at Adkins Fat Boy, Bennies Waffle Iron, the American Viscose Corp., O. Ames, Mt. State Steel and Burns Security until his illness caused retirement in 2002.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis Workman; one son, Greg Workman and his wife, Tina, of Surprise, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Sarah Renee Workman and Hannah Nicole Workman, both of Surprise, Ariz.; and one brother, Steven Miller and his wife, Pam, of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a younger brother, Dennis Miller; father, Carl Workman; his mother, Cynthia Lucas Miller; and grandmother, Zena Mae Lucas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV, with the Rev. Larry Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Saturday.

Dorothea Lee Hinkley

Dorothea Lee Hinkley, age 80 of Vienna, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 1, 2005.

She was born in Charleston, WV, April 29, 1925 to the late Nelson and Gertrude Ball Gwinn. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston and worked for Exxon and United Fuel. After moving to North Carolina, she worked for Dairy Records at North Carolina State University. Returning to West Virginia in 1997, she worked for J.C. Penney for many years. She loved reading, travel, and was an avid fan of the North Carolina State Basketball team. Her friendship and laughter will be dearly missed. She was a Presbyterian by faith.

She is survived by her son, Sheldon Lewis Hinkley, Jr. and his wife Robin of Vienna, WV; two grandsons, Michael and his wife Alice of Columbus, OH and Joseph and his wife Jaime of Watertown, OH; three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Jade and Xavier; and two step-grandchildren, Caroline Martin of Lexington, KY and Jeffrey Martin of Yardley, PA.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Lewis Hinkley, Sr.; and one sister, Victoria. A memorial gathering will be held at the home of her son on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from noon to 2:00 p.m.. There will be no visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

The family requests donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Lola M. Wells

Lola M. Wells, 70 of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home.

She was born December 3, 1934 in Wood County a daughter of the late Heber and Mae Davis. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Wells of Parkersburg, WV and Joe Wells of Williamstown, WV; five grandchildren, Ratchell Boice, Kelly Wells, Stacy Wells, James Wells, and Jerred Wells; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Boice, Hunter Boice and Jacob Duley; and one brother, Bill Davis of Columbus, OH.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Wells and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV with Rev. Kevin Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
