Thomas Hall Garrett

Thomas Hall Garrett, 58, of Belpre, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 27, 2005, at his residence.

He was born August 17, 1946, in Weston, WV, a son of Elvin R. Garrett of Parkersburg and the late Helen Pettit Garrett.

Thomas was a truck driver with E.C.H. Trucking. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2307 of Parkersburg, WV. He was a past board member of the City of Parkersburg Planning Commission and was a past board member of the Parkersburg Homecoming Committee.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Arlene G. Garrett of Belpre, Ohio; two daughters, Angela Davis and her husband, Dale, of Parkersburg, WV and Mildred Modesitt, of Parkersburg, WV; three sons, Bryon Garrett and wife, Nicky of Elizabeth, WV, Kevin Allen, of Mineral Wells, WV, and James D. Allen and wife, Tina, of Mineral Wells, WV; and 10 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Brittany, Ashley, Jillian, Hannah, Hallie, Zackery, Aaron and Noah.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 P.M and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Iva A. Hartley

Iva 'Dolly' Amanda Hartley, 87, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mere words cannot express the love this woman had from so many people. If ever there was an angel on earth, it was Iva (Dolly-Nannie) Hartley. She was a caregiver for many and always there to do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. Everyone who knew her was enriched by her acquaintance and we know she is in a better place with her husband and loved ones she has missed. Although she will be missed by those left here, a void that can never ever be replaced, her time spent here on earth was exactly as she wanted it'no regrets. To those who knew and loved her as we her family did, thank you for your prayers and concerns. She will forever be in all of our hearts. We are the lucky ones to have had her for 87 wonderful years. Our angel finally made it to her final resting place.

Iva Amanda, daughter of Watson and Arie Cheuvront Balderson was born June 4, 1918, in Sandyville, WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hawlie Edmond Hartley; sisters, Mamie Welch and Laura Gearhart; and brothers, Dale and Ray Balderson.

Survivors include a son, Mick Hartley and his wife, Beverly; daughter, Judy Frum and her husband, Marty, all of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, John Frum and his wife, Yvette, Chris Hartley, Jason Hartley and Jeremy Frum and his wife, Dawn; a great-grandson, Dylan Edmond Frum; a sister, Cora Wigal of Parkersburg, WV; and many members of her extended family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV. Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Barbara A. Mancini

Barbara Ann Mancini, 46, of Parkersburg, WV passed away June 24, 2005, peacefully in her home.

She was born August 10, 1958, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of Connie Burchard Lipscomb Lattea of Parkersburg and the late Edward Lipscomb.

Barbara was a 1976 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She had previously worked at the Dils Brothers Department Store for 10 years and Corning Glass for six years. She was a stained glass artist as well as a craftsperson and was a volunteer at Love and Care Personal Care Home. She was an avid bowler for several years and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving is her husband, Richard 'Sam' Mancini of Parkersburg, WV; her daughter, Caci Marlow of Parkersburg, WV; her step-son, Tony Mancini of Huntington, WV; her mother and stepfather, Connie and George Lattea of Parkersburg, WV; two sisters and their husbands, Becky and Stan Wilson and Jeni and Larry Anderson, all of Parkersburg, WV; one brother, John Lipscomb of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV, with Dr. David Heater officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Douglas E. Wenmoth

Douglas E. 'Doug' Wenmoth, 51, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away August 24, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born February 8, 1954, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Harry E. and Myrtle G. Deems Wenmoth of Vienna, WV.

Doug was a 1973 graduate of PHS and earned a REA with an emphasis in psychology in 2004 from WVU-P. He was working on his master's degree in rehabilitational counseling at WVU Morgantown. He was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa in 2002 and was named to the National Deans List in 2002. Doug has several academic awards from WVU-P. He served in the Wood County Democrat Executive Committee and in 2001 he was named Wood County Democrat of the year. He also was instrumental in the election of Chuck Milhoan for mayor of Vienna, WV and he was the 2000 Wood County Democratic Convention chairman. In the 1970's, Doug raced late model stock cars in the area. He worked at Universal Glass in the '70's and was an active member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 33 until disability forced his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle J. Leasure whom he married April 5, 2004; his son, Andrew D. Wenmoth of Vienna, WV; his sister and her husband, Victoria and John Hale of Vienna, WV; his grandson, Bryan Wenmoth of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Ethel Joy Deems and Andrew and Sonoma Gertrude Archer Wenmoth, and several aunts and uncles.

An informal graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Evergreen North Cemetery, with Pastor Ron Walker officiating. A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Homeland Community Church, Camden Avenue, Parkersburg, WV. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV.

Memorials may be made to Housecalls Hospice Camden-Clark, 1601 Garfield Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101 in memory of Doug.

Frances G. Henson

Frances G. Henson, 67, of Vienna, WV, formerly of Laurinburg, N.C., passed away August 23, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 8, 1938, in Wilmington, N.C., a daughter of the late William T. and Irene Wright Genes. Frances was a member of Vienna Baptist Church where she was active in the Home Builders Sunday school class, active in T.O.P.S., was a housewife and loved to go to the beach.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Henson; three sons, Ronald Henson and his wife, Karen, of St. Petersburg, Florida, Carl S. Henson and his wife, Teresa, of Vienna, WV and Brian Henson of Parkersburg, WV; one sister Barbara Gardner of Laurinburg, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan and Alex.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, William S. Henson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Vienna Baptist Church, Vienna, WV with the Rev. Nathan E. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Gail C. Williams

Gail C. Williams, 78, of Vienna, WV, passed awy August 22, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 15, 1926, in Wood County, WV, a son of the late Willie A. and Oretta Betrice Jordon Williams. He was retired after 39 - years from Demouth Glass as a mechanic, was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he had served as a trustee, and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Wigal Williams; five children, Nora Paton of Omaha, Nebraska, Douglas Williams of Texas, David Williams of Parkersburg, WV, LuAnn Loy of Vienna, WV, and Jacquline Harris of Davisville, WV; two brothers, Herbert C. Williams of Nashville, Tennessee and Clarence Williams of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Jack M. Paton of Texas, Christ Paton of North Dakota, Eric Williams and Randy Williams, both of Arkansas, and Sarah J. Harris of Davisville, WV; step-grandchildren, Sammy Davis, Joshua Davis and David Kastrow, all of Parkersburg, WV; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Ingram.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV, with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 15. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dale Joseph Radcliff

Dale Joseph 'Joe' Radcliff, 51, of Mineral Wells, WV passed away August 20, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born November 1, 1953, in Wood County, WV, a son of Laura Jane McCauley Radcliff of Mineral Wells, WV and the late Dale Jennings Radcliff. Dale was a member of the Sams Creek Baptist Church, Mineral Wells, WV.

In addition to his mother, his is survived by two brothers, Daniel Jennings Radcliff of Creston, WV, and Clifford Radcliff of Mineral Wells, WV; a sister, Jane Gilstrap of Jackson, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV, with Pastor Bob Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joseph M. Bettoli

Joseph M. Bettoli, 59, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born December 20, 1945 in Long Branch, NJ, a son of the late Frank and Nicholina Perno Bettoli.

Joseph retired from E.I. DuPont after 35 years of service. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, a member of the Sons of Italy and The Riviera Club. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan and supporter of the South Parkersburg sports. He was a recent participant and member of Almost Heaven. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Lorraine Krelik Bettoli, of Parkersburg, WV; two children, Lisa Bettoli of Parkersburg, WV and Frank Bettoli and his wife, Pati, of Harrisburg, NC; four grandchildren, Natalie and Anthony Hess and Joseph Gwynn, all of Parkersburg, WV and Sela Bettoli of Harrisburg, NC; one sister, Johanna Nuzzo and her husband, John, of Liverpool, NY; one brother, Francis (Frankie) Bettoli of Parkersburg, WV; four brothers-in-law, Daniel, Robert, John and Joseph Krelik, all of New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Marlene Borbely of New Jersey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, David Krelik.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Father Casey Mahone officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Ward A. Clevenger

Ward A. Clevenger, Jr., 80, of Parkersburg died Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the Worthington Manor Care Center, Parkersburg.

He was born April 15, 1925, in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Arden A. Clevenger and Esta Cottrill Clevenger Bailey. Ward retired from McClinton Chevrolet; was a member of Mt. Olivet No. 3 A.F. & A.M.; he played on the Big Red football teams of 1942 and 1943.

He is survived by three daughters, Rickie Susan Willison of Parkersburg, Charolette Boso and her husband William of Parkersburg, and Barbara Jackson of Marietta, Ohio; one sister, Patty DePue of Vienna; two stepbrothers, Mike Callihan of Ohio and Doug Clevenger of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and companion, Linda L. Smith of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Sovil Clevenger; two brothers, Hobert and Gene Clevenger; and his stepfather, Patrick Bailey.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, with the Reverend Scott Sears officiating. Burial will be at Limestone Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 3 A.F. & A.M. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Blanche Ollom

Blanche Ollom, 96, formerly of Belpre, Ohio died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the I.O.O.F. Nursing Home in Springfield, Ohio.

She was born January 31, 1909 in Big Otter, WV, a daughter of the late James S. and Jessie Jarvis Shawver. Blanche was a member of the Ben Fortney Rebekah Lodge of Belpre and the Augusta Rebekah Lodge of Marietta. She had held various district and state offices in the Rebekahs. She was a United Methodist by faith.

Surviving are two sons, Jack Ollom of Mullins, SC and David Ollom of Reno, NV; one brother, George Shawver of LasVegas, NV; one sister, Nina Rexroad of Belpre, OH; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry W. Ollom; one son, Richard Ollom; and several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2005 at Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, Ohio with the Reverend David Hubbard officiating. The Augusta Rebekah Lodge of Marietta will conduct services at the graveside.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, Ohio.

Delbert Wigal

Delbert Wigal, 78, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Sunday August 7, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1927, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Clarence and Jane Prine Wigal. He was retired with 32 years of service with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio, a member of Sunrise Church of Christ and was an active hunter and fisherman.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Ruth E. White Wigal; son, Terry and his wife, Carol Wigal; daughter, Bonnie and her husband Larry Weideman; son, Michael and his wife, Karen Wigal; son, Mark and his wife, Kris Wigal; one sister, Evelyn Petty; three brothers, Paul, Cecil and Harold Wigal; grandchildren, Eric Wigal, Angela Anthill, Kevin Wigal, , Randall Wigal, Jennifer Cunningham, Christy Stitzlein, Renee Myers, Curtis Myers, Tonya Wigal, Joshua Wigal and Heather Wigal; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Wigal, Belle Wigal, Sophi Wigal, Emma Stitzlein, Katie Stitzlein, Chase Stitzlein and Kelsey Eagle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Steen Ray Wigal.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg, WV, with Keith Kress officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Charles Griffith, Sr.

Rev. Charles L. Griffith, Sr., age 86, passed away August 3, 2005 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 20, 1918 at Ben Bush, WV a son of the late William and Maggie Ruble Griffith. He was a WWII Army veteran and a 33rd Degree Mason.

Rev. Griffith began preaching at the age of 17. He first served as pastor at Central Hill in Elizabeth, Wirt County, WV. He also served as pastor at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Cedar Grove, Pleasant Valley, Middle Ridge, 14th Ave. Union Gospel Mission, Veto Tabernacle and conducted evangelical services in the Tri-State area since 1935.He treasured his ministry and his family. He worked as a machinist at St. Clair's Auto Supply in Parkersburg for 25 years and was a member of the Auxiliary Police for Washington County, Ohio for several years. He enjoyed woodworking and loved gospel music.

He is survived by six children, Shirley Jo Nichols of Belpre, Ohio, Sandra (Larry) Eddy of Parkersburg, Norma (Arlie) Proctor of Kenna, WV, Charles 'Chuck'(Jane) Griffith, Jr. of Belpre, Ohio, Barbara (Gordon) Brock of Kenna, WV and Keith (Sandy) Griffith of Evans, WV; 13 grandchildren, Daniel Reed and David Reed of Coolville, Ohio, Daya Albrecht of Kenna, WV, Dusty (Crystal) Albrecht of Charleston, WV, Michael (Karen) Pyles of Buchannon, WV, Denise Martin of Parkersburg, Timmy (Sheree) Roberts of Clarksville, GA, Butch (Teri)Thompson, of Veto, Ohio, Stephen (Amanda) Thompson of Morgantown, WV, Kenneth (Tamara) Thompson of Vincent, Ohio, Kimberly Griffith of Belpre, Alexander Griffith and Jessica Griffith both of Evans, WV; 14 great-grandchildren, Chasidy, Charli, Lyndsay, Lindsey, Tobias, Michael, Joseph, Yauhana, Brittney, Austin, Gracie, Tessla, Shawn and Austin; three sisters, Margaret Dunlap and Helen Wolfe of Parkersburg, and Betty Hamrick of Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Ernest Griffith of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lena Francis Meredith Griffith; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; three son-in-laws and three brothers.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Clyde Boarder and Pastor Danny Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Reno, Ohio with full military rites by Williamstown American Legion Post 159. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
