Cledith H. Cantwell

Cledith H. 'Red' Cantwell, 87, died at St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday, January 12, 2006 after a long illness.

He was born in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of the late Clarence H. Cantwell and Lillie Hanlon Cantwell. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Penn Metal/Keene Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Darla J. 'Dot' Cantwell, of Vienna, WV; and by his daughter and son-in-law, Dottie and James Midkiff, of Vienna, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rondal Cantwell and Kenneth Cantwell; and two sisters, Alice Spina and Eileen Alexander.

At his request, there will be no visitation. Burial will be in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV.

Thomas L. Lambert

Thomas Lewis Lambert, 78, of Vienna, WV passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at his residence.

He was born September 8, 1927 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Harry L., Sr. and Mary Hoffman Lambert. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; worked at American Viscose; operated a plumbing and septic tank sales business with his father for several years; and was retired from Elkem Metals as a maintenance supervisor after 33 - years of service. Tom attended Wayside United Methodist Church; was a 32nd Degree Mason; a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 3, Parkersburg; past Director of the Nemesis Temple Director Staff; past Director of the Mid Atlantic Shrine; a member of Scottish Rite and other Masonic Bodies of West Virginia; and enjoyed hunting and fishing. After his retirement, he worked for more than 10 years at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Homes. 'Uncle Tom' will be fondly remembered by the entire Lambert-Tatman staff and families.

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Claire Eagle Lambert; two daughters, Vickie Ross of Maple Grove, MN and Judy Lambert of Vienna, WV; one granddaughter, Kasey Ross of Minneapolis, MN; one brother, Joseph Lambert and his wife, Wilma, of Parkersburg, WV; two sisters, Anna Pepper of Parkersburg, WV and Josephine Tatman and her husband, Gordon, of Newark, OH; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry L. Lambert, Jr. and one infant sister.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 5 - 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells, WV.

Robert L. Woollard

Robert Lee 'Bob' Woollard, 44, of Parkersburg, WV departed this life Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born August 16, 1961 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of A. Marie Yates Woollard of Parkersburg, WV and the late Chester L. Woollard.

He was previously employed by the WV Department of Highways for 16 years and was a member of Stephenson United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his son and grandson and also fishing, NASCAR and collecting guns.

In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by one son, Robert Lee Woollard, Jr. and his wife, Englich, of Parkersburg, WV; two sisters, Martha W. Gerwig and her husband, Martin, of Sandyville, WV and Diana L. Hines and her husband, Jeffrey, of Parkersburg, WV; two nephews, Christopher N. Morrison and his wife, Shannon, of Belpre, OH and D. Michael Warman, II and his wife, Elizabeth, of Virginia Beach, VA; one niece, Deidra M. Hines of Parkersburg, WV; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held in honor of Bob's life from 1 - 4 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV.

Donald W. Williams

Donald Wayne 'Buck' Williams, 73, of Parkersburg, WV died at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 3, 1932 in Auburn, WV, a son of the late Harry and Brenice Williams. He had spent most of his life in the Parkersburg area. A graduate of Harrisville High School, he attended one year of college in the engineering program at West Virginia University and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as a flight mechanic/crew chief. He retired as a computer technician with 33 years of service at E.I. DuPont in Washington, WV. He was also a 33nd Degree Mason, belonging to Mt. Olivet Lodge 3 A.F.&A.M.; in Parkersburg. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and in general, time spent in the woods. He was also a Corvette owner/fan as well as an avid motor sports fan, attending multiple races each year in Charlotte, NC as well as local tracks. He and his family were charter members of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville and most recently attended Broadway Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Oleta Marie Kerns Williams, whom he married November 5, 1955. The recently celebrated 50 years of marriage at a well-attended function of family and friends. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie K. and Shawn Graham of Parkersburg, WV; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig H. and Amy L. Williams of Lenox, MA; three grandchildren, Kristopher Sean Gillespie and his wife, Christy, Emily Brenice Williams and Jacob Craig Williams; one sister, Eva Lou Skipper of Mobile, AL; a brother, James Alden Williams of Harrisville, WV; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Dr. Harold Custer and Pastor Bill Angel officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, WV. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Erickson All Sports Facility. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Mary E. Giffin

Mary Elizabeth Giffin, 83, formerly of Little Hocking, Ohio passed on to be with Jesus on Sunday evening, January 8, 2006 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 14, 1922, the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Morrison Ahart.

Mary worked at Corning Glass during WWII, worked on the family farm with her husband and children, cared for her parents and her husband's parents. Her greatest gift was her witness of the healing power of God, going to church and putting Jesus first in her life.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lee Duckworth and her husband Robert of Mineral Wells, WV; two sons, Clarence Wayne Giffin and his wife Lois of Little Hocking, Ohio and Darrell Dewaine Giffin and his wife Laurel of Plain City, Utah; four grandchildren, Robert C. Duckworth II, George U. Duckworth, Robin Morris and her husband Daniel all of Mineral Wells, WV, and Jessica Marie Giffin of Little Hocking, Ohio; two step grandsons, Justin Campbell (Jill) of Utah and Jason Campbell (Stacy) of Arizona; two great-granddaughters, Brittany and Sarah Morris of Mineral Wells, WV; four step great-grandchildren; one nephew, Kenneth Rosier of Vienna, WV; two nieces, Alice Butcher and Julia Gansor; several cousins; dear friends; and her family of loving friends and caregivers at Heartland of Marietta where she resided and called home for the past five years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 49 years, Clarence Gilchrist Giffin, who passed away December 29, 1993; a sister Vera Rosier and one niece.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Bill Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday.

Charles J. Long

Charles Joseph Long, 69, of Washington, WV, passed away January 7, 2006, at his residence.

He was born at Lowell, Ohio, a son of the late Herbert and Catharine Quinn Long. He was retired from E. I. DuPont Washington Works after 34 years of service. He was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He loved to run his beagle dogs at field trial competitions.

Survivors include his wife of over 36 years, Floretta Flannery Long; two daughters, Kimberly Meredith and her husband, Mark of Parkersburg, WV and Libby Shibayama and her husband, Juris, of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Margery Hogan and her husband, Jerry, of Marietta, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Zachary Meredith and Megan Meredith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Ralph and Harold Long.

Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Casey Mahone as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Connie Lee Wright

Connie Lee Wright, 76, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away January 7, 2006 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of the late Kenneth and Dorothy Benson Wentzel. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and a member of the Baptist Temple Church. She was a Christian and enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible. She loved taking pictures of her many friends and was loved by many for her great kindness. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Lushbaugh of York, Pennsylvania, Dotty Miracle of Mineral Wells, WV and Tina Haines of Casper, Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Sarah, April, Kristina, Melissa, Stephen, Travis and Katie; and three great-grandchildren, Jared, Autumn and baby Taya.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Wright, Jr. in 1981; a daughter, Carolyn Peterman; a son, Kenneth Wright; three sisters and four brothers.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Chad Mugrage officiating. Burial will be Evergreen South Cemetery. Friends may call 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Curtis A. Glore, Jr.

Curtis Andrew "Curtie" Glore, Jr., 77, of Little Hocking, Ohio passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 at the Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born June 28, 1926, in Irondale, MO., a son of the late Curtis Glore, Sr. and Ester Osborne Glore. Curtis was retired from Dils Ford, where he was general manager. He was a member of the Calvary Memorial Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Anne Taylor Glore; five children, Ruth Ann Duff of Joliet, IL, Becky Kelly of Sioux Falls, SD, Andrew Glore, Billy Glore and Bonnie Brown, all of St. Louis, MO.; one brother, John Glore of St. Louis, MO.; two sisters, Ellen Pratt and Barbara Pruitt, both of Irondale, MO.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Calvary Memorial Church with Pastor Rob Collins officiating. Interment will follow at the Torch Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Edna K. Bartlett

Edna K. Bartlett, 74, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Friday, January 6, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Madison, N.C., a daughter of the late Ples and Cobbie L. Price Kellam. Edna married the late Carl E. Bartlett and moved to Parkersburg, where they had six children. Edna formerly worked at Demuth Glass and Stealey's Cleaners. She volunteered at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and was a devoted homemaker. Edna was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Parkersburg, where she was a deaconess in charge of Holy Communion, a member of the missionary society, was the church announcement clerk and was a member of Women in Christ.

She is survived by her loving sons, Carl E. Bartlett, Jr., Ralph L. Bartlett and Scott A. Bartlett; two daughters, Sheila A. Bartlett and Hope (Tina) Q. Jones; three half-sisters, Ruth Moseley, Rosalee Harris and Winifred Benton; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl E. Bartlett; a daughter, Mary L. Bartlett; and brothers, John Dewey Kellam and Valentino Kellam.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Zion Baptist Church in Parkersburg with the Reverend Alfred E. Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Tatman Funeral Home, 220 Main Street, Belpre, OH and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Zion Baptist Church, Eighth and Clay streets, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Rachel D. Mihaliak

Rachel D. Wires Mihaliak, 36, of Vienna, WV passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 at her residence.

She was born December 14, 1969 in Wood County, WV, a daughter of Clarence 'June' Wires of Volcano, WV and Kitty A. Britton of Mineral Wells, WV. Rachel was a graduate of Parkersburg High School; had been a dental assistant for several area dentists; enjoyed crafts and wood working; and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Vince J. Mihaliak; one daughter, Shela Dawn Mihaliak and one son, Vinnie James Mihaliak, IV, both of the home; four brothers, John Wires of Kentucky, Jason Tingler of Ravenswood, WV, Kevin Tingler of Florida and Eugene Watkins of Ravenswood, WV; two sisters, Drinda Richards and Tammy Williams, both of Parkersburg, WV; and her paternal grandmother, Marlon Simonton of Parkersburg, WV.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marilyn Wires; a brother, Andy Wires; maternal grandparents, William and Katherine Britton; and a nephew.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Lamber-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with Dan Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ernestine H. Black

Ernestine Helen Belt Black, 84, of Vienna, WV departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2006 to be with the Lord.

She was born in Ritchie County, WV on June 12, 1921, a daughter of the late Hegmon and Laura Kelley Belt.

She had worked for Coke-A-Cola of Parkersburg, WV and was retired from the Midland Road Commission, Midland, MI. Ernestine enjoyed bowling and spending time with her special cats, Buffy and Cindi. She was a Christian who enjoyed reading the Bible. She attended the Vienna Baptist Church and had many special Christian friends.

She is survived by one brother, Harold Belt and his wife, Betty, of Cocoa, FL; one sister, Lucille Belt Hescht of Parkersburg, WV; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Charles Black, on February 26, 2005; a daughter, Maureen Hayes; and a sister, Arlene Belt Dewees.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV with the Reverend Nathan Williams and the Reverend Dennis Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family requests donations be made to the Vienna Baptist Church, 3401 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV 26105.

Howard Dean Corbin

Howard 'Deano' Corbin, 42, of Philo, Ohio, passed away January 4, 2006 at the St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born June 7, 1963 in Wood County, WV, a son of Blanquito Rodriquez and William D. Corbin.

Surviving is his father and stepmother, William D. and Sharon Corbin of Philo, Ohio; his grandmother, Juanita M. Nolan Corbin of Vienna, WV; one sister, Juanita Corbin of Charleston, S.C., two brothers, William Corbin of Parkersburg, WV and James Corbin of Texas; two stepsisters, Tamara Harbaugh of Wakeman, Ohio and Michelle Thorn of The Netherlands; two stepbrothers, William Thorn of Wellington, Ohio and Scott Thorn of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; one uncle, Tom Corbin of Parkersburg, WV; one aunt, Judy Wallace of Parkersburg, WV; and three great-aunts.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Corbin; one sister, Billy Ann Corbin; one brother, William D. Corbin; and two uncles.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, WV with Pastor James Kinsler officiating. Interment will follow at the Corbin Cemetery, Waverly, WV. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
