Harry C. Mylar

Harry C. Mylar, 70 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away at his residence.

He was born October 12, 1935 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Ruth Grove Mylar. Harry was retired from the Ormet Company, Hannibal, Ohio and was a member of the North Parkersburg Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy and Army veteran; was a member of the Masonic Lodge 172 A.F.&A.M.; in Vienna, W.Va.; American Legion Post 15; Moose Lodge 931; and Martha Washington Chapter 22 OES, in Sistersville, W.Va.

He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Tammy and John Hill, and Kathy and Bill Bloomingdale all of Marietta, Ohio; six grandchildren, Tabitha Pittman of Marietta, Ohio, J.T. Hill of New York, Joel Hill of Marietta, Ohio, and Eric, Tori, and Alli Bloomingdale all of Marietta, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Kayla Pittman both of Marietta; five step-sons, Jeff Rogers of Pennsylvania, Jason Rogers of Virginia, Wally King of Toledo, Ohio, Brandon and Tierman King both of Akron, Ohio; two step-grandchildren; and one brother, Albert Mylar of Kingwood, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Langfitt Mylar in February 2005; and two brothers, Charles and William Mylar.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at the North Parkersburg Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Boone officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. and Friday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Christian School, 3109 Emerson Ave. Parkersburg, W.Va. 26104.

Harry G. Butcher

Harry Gene 'Rusty' Butcher, 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va. died April 23, 2006, at Worthington Manor.

He was born in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Harry B. and Dorothea Stanton Butcher. He graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1948, where he was junior and senior class president; a member of Acapella Choir; he had polio as a child and was a pitcher for the Big Reds baseball team; was a member of PHS All-State Choir; and attended WVU and Marshall University. He retired from Union Carbide and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his brother, Boyd P. Butcher and his wife, Irene, of San Antonio, Texas; and three nephews, Mark Butcher of Cloudcroft, Texas, Robert Butcher of Clyde, Texas, and Steven Butcher of Lancaster, Texas.

Friends will be received from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va., with private family services at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Eleanor Howard

Eleanor E. Howard, 92 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 24, 2006 at the Worthington Manor Care Center.

She was born October 10, 1913 in Sherman, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jasper 'Roy' and Susan Mamie Tumlin Howell. Eleanor had worked at the American Viscose in Parkersburg, W.Va. and was a member of the Peoples Church in Boaz. She enjoyed basketball and was all- state guard for three years at Ravenswood School. She loved crafts and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

Eleanor is survived by her sister, Anna Lou Stephens of Parkersburg, W.Va.; her niece, Juanita Mae Bell of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and two great-nieces, Karen Tackett of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Rebecca Bell of Pickerington, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Howard; and her brothers, John, Jess, and Carl Howell.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor John W. Frum officiating. Interment will follow at the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kathleen S. Stovall

Kathleen S. Stovall, 62, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006 at her residence.

She was born September 28, 1943 in York, Maine, a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Donahue Keniston. She had worked for the past seventeen years at Thermo Electron in Marietta, Ohio, where she had many friends. She was a member of the VFW Post 1212 and operated a small business known as Nanny's Homemade Fudge.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Smith and her husband, Chris, of Parkersburg, WV; one son, Arick Stovall and his wife, Terri, of Leesville, LA; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Stovall and Kristyn Smith; one sister, Nellie Ann Monahan of Rowley, MA; one brother, Michael Keniston of Chesapeake, OH; a very close friend, Ginger Harmon, of Ripley, WV; and was Nanny to every child she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Flanigan; and one brother, William Keniston, Jr.

A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held by her family at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV.

Vera L. Nowery

Vera Lynn Nowery, 45, of Rockport, WV went to be with our Father in Heaven on Friday, April 21, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Vera was a woman of strength and faith; a very strong Christian woman. We can rest easy knowing she is with the Lord. She was an active member of her church, The Celebration Center of Belpre, and was a part of the Southern Gospel singing group, Under The Son. Her love for her God and her family was unsurpassed. Her influence and guidance can never be replaced.

Vera was employed by Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield in Parkersburg. She also had taught school previously in Roane County and was a graduate of Glenville State College.

Vera is survived by her children, Rachel Leighann and her fiancé, Travis Fridenstine, Amanda Christine and her special friend, Ralph Washington, Jr., and Jesse Nathaniel, all of the home; her parents, Lewis and Barbara Sullivan of Sandyville, WV; one brother, David and his wife, Sherri, of Sandyville, WV; one sister, Carla Underwood and her husband, Brian, of Fountain Inn, SC; grandparents, Blaine and Wanda Sheppard of Elizabeth, WV; mother and father-in-law, Barbara Joan Nowery of Vienna, WV and John Nowery of Washington, WV; brother-in-law, Doug Nowery and wife, Carol, of Lubeck, WV; brother-in-law, Ryan and his wife, Julie, of Lubeck, WV; sister-in-law, Amy Tingler and her husband, Al, of Parkersburg, WV; and eleven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher John Nowery, who passed away in 2003; and paternal grandparents, Dana and Ina Sullivan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Sharon Atkinson and Pastor Everett Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 1- 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Alberta L. Buskirk

Alberta Lenora 'Betty' Buskirk, 86, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1919 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late James and Virginia Harris Treadway. Betty had previously worked for the American Viscose, had attended the Calvary Community Church in Belpre, OH and was an avid NASCAR fan.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Larry Buskirk and Steven Robert Buskirk, both of Parkersburg, WV; ten grandchildren, including Barbara Buskirk, who was also her caregiver; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Buskirk; her sons, James Ronald Buskirk and infant son, John Wesley Buskirk; one brother, Paul Treadway; and one sister, Margaret Treadway.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Clay Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Stephanie Black

Jane Mary Chips, age 76, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Monday, April 17, 2006 in Evansville, Indiana.

She was born October 13, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late John and Anna Papierniak Borysiewicz.

Jane worked as a cardiac head nurse at Alexian Brothers Hospital and Lutheran General Hospital both in Chicago, Illinois. She also worked as a nurse for Dr. Robert Guske in Vienna, W.Va. for over 30 years.

She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Vienna, W.Va. where she was a member of the Women's Club, head of the Evangelization committee and church lector. And she belonged to four bridge groups in the Vienna, W.Va. area.

She started the annual New Years Eve Rosary, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, and the Easter blessing of the food baskets. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, gourmet cooking, travel, and providing traditional holiday gatherings for her family.

Jane is survived by her husband, Stanley D. 'Al' Chips whom she married October 7, 1950; two daughters, Susan Hall and her husband, Bil, l of Newburgh, Indiana and Mary Henkels and her husband, Bob, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; three sons, John Chips and his wife, Bep, of Butler, Pennsylvania, Daniel Chips and his wife, Pam, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Allen Chips and his wife, Dee, of Kill Devil Hills, NC; 10 grandsons, Christopher Hall, Matthew Chips, Timothy Chips, Jeffrey Chips, Michael Chips, Nathan Chips, Andrew Chips, Alexander Chips, Joseph Henkels, and Peter Henkels; six granddaughters, Jamie McElya, Katherine Henkels, Julia Henkels, Alana Chips, Jane Henkels and Anna Henkels; one great-grandson, Eamon Chips.

Mass of Christian burial will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2006 at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Rev. David Huffman as celebrant and Rev. Anthony Conlon as concelebrant. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at Holy Savior Catholic cemetery in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, W.Va. 26105 where a Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Constance J. Wade

Constance J. 'Connie' Wade, age 83, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Sunday April 16, 2006 at her residence.

She was born June 29, 1922 in Swain County NC, a daughter of the late James Marshall and Minnie G. Earn Caldwell. She was a homemaker, a member of the East Vienna United Methodist Church, had served as a Brownie Scout leader and was an avid bowler.

Connie is survived by one daughter, Barbara Shultz of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and one son, Larry Wade and his wife, Nancy of Marietta, Ohio; four grandchildren, Linda Sullivan and her husband, Wayne, Eddie Kendall and his wife, Stephanie, Angela Hanscome and Jessie Hanscome; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Margaret Congrove and Cynthia Ruble.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Wade in 1992; one daughter, Carol Bailey; and one sister, Ruby Sandy.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Marilyn Schroeder and Rev. Keith Kapple officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Francis G. Bettoli

Francis Glen 'Frankie' Bettoli, 54, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 16, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1951, in New Jersey, a son of the late Frank and Nicholina Perno Bettoli.

Frankie was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church. He is survived by his sister and her husband, Johanna and John Nuzzo of Liverpool, N.Y.; his sister-in-law, Lorraine Bettoli of Parkersburg; two nephews, Michael Nuzzo of Liverpool, N.Y. and Frank Bettoli and his wife, Patti, of Harrisburg, N.C.; one niece, Lisa Bettoli of Parkersburg, W.Va.; great-nieces and nephews, Natalie Hess, Anthony Hess and Joseph Gwynn, all of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Sela Raine Bettoli of Harrisburg, Pa.; caregivers, Violet and Shaun Tant; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph M. Bettoli in August 2005.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pearl L. McVay

Pearl Lucille McVay, 101, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 14, 2006, at the Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.

She was born December 3, 1904, in Petroleum, W.Va., a daughter of the late Waldon and Lena Minks Parr. Pearl was a member of the Calvary Memorial Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Blennerhassett Chapter.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Edna McVay and William and Frania McVay, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two grandsons, Paul and Steven Echard, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Patricia Elmy of Pennsylvania, and Jackie Parr of California; four great-grandsons, Aaron, Andrew and Nicholas Echard and Timothy Elmy; and one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Echard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Robert Franklin McVay; one daughter Madolyn Echard; one grandson, Robert D. McVay; four sisters and four brothers.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Dr. Kurt Busiek and Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Junior H. Jackson

Junior Harold Jackson, 81, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 14, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born February 14, 1925, in Sherman, W.Va., the son of the late Gay Jackson and the late Carrie Derenberger-Jackson. He was in the U.S. Army's 141st Medical Battalion and was a veteran of World War II. Junior had worked for the B&O; Railroad for over 10 years and retired from The General Service Administration in Parkersburg.

He is survived by four daughters, Carol and husband, Allan Rawson, Kathy Jackson, Mary Jackson and Julie and husband, Charles Shingleton, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sons, Harold and wife, Sherry Jackson, of Parkersburg, W.Va., Phillip Jackson of Pleasant Valley, W.Va., and John and wife, Sharon Jackson of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one brother, Don and wife, Karen Jackson, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Elizabeth and husband, Roger Whited, Evelyn DeHaven and Madeline Buckley, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, Aliza Jackson, Lori Walters, Michael Rawson, Tara Jackson, Dustin Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Jennifer and Joel Shingleton and Alexis and Caitlin Jackson; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margret Cook-Jackson; two sisters, Patty Buffington and Irene Lucas; three brothers, Wilford Jackson, Ron Jackson and Clair Jackson; and one granddaughter, Holly Jackson-Wuller.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Mike Seebaugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mineral Wells, W.Va.
