Virginia Louise James

Virginia Louise James, 83, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Nov. 2, 2008, at her residence.

She was born in Middlebourne, W.Va., a daughter of the late George W. and Merle Tustin Owens. She was a homemaker and formerly worked with Hope Gas in Clarksburg, W.Va. and America Standard in Elyria, Ohio. She was also a member of Steer Run Baptist Church and attended South Parkersburg Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Samuel James; one sister, Geraldine Prunty of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Meadow Lane Cemetery, Gilmer County, W.Va. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Marian McCrady

Marian McCrady, 76, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed from this life on October 29, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Roy F. and Mattie Haines Ludwig in Wood County, W.Va. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church and a graduate of Parkersburg High School, class of 1950.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles W. McCrady; three sons, Allen and Anita McCrady, Scott and Diane McCrady and Dana McCrady, all of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Matt and Lynn McCrady of Buena Vista, Virginia, Amy and Jeff Mitchell of Parkersburg, W.Va., Charlie and Stacy McCrady of Beaver, Pennsylvania, Kristy McCrady of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Michelle McCrady of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Amanda McCrady of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Brandi Elkins of Charlotte, North Carolina, Justin Elkins of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Sophia and Brendan McCrady.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Geneva and Jack Ashwell, Kathryn and Os Ball, Anna and Noel Spiker and Mildred and Bill Sargent; and one nephew, Jim Ashwell.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Saturday, November 1, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Elder Sterling Ball and Pastor Mike Allen officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Friday, October 31, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Erickson All-sports Facility, Box 3750, Parkersburg, WV 26103.

Fay Miskofsky

Fay Miskofsky, 93, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died Oct. 29, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born in Wood County, W.Va., one of a set of twins to Martin Luther and Anna Elizabeth Thomas Wolfe. She was employed by Dudley Florist for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a graduate of PHS, was an avid gardener and attended Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, William and his wife, Sandra Miskofsky, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a daughter, Anna Rogers of Greensboro, N.C.; her twin sister, May Duffield of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Stacy and her husband, Chris Taylor, of Greensboro, N.C.; three grandsons, Keith and his wife, Tracy Miskofsky, Christopher Miskofsky and John Wright, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one great-grandson, Shawn Taylor of Greensboro, N.C.; three great-granddaughters, Natalie, Madison and Gracyn Miskofsky, all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and eight nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; six brothers, Guy, Claude, Earle, Bernard, Gordon and Bryan Wolfe; three sisters, Lorene Black, Autumn Pugh and Madeline Apart; and one grandson, Peter J. Rogers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Jim Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Maijub, Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, House Calls/Hospice and their staffs for all their care and support.

Melvin E. "Gene" Maston

Melvin E. "Gene" Maston, 83, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Charleston Area Medical Center.

He was born in St. Marys, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas Gale and Mary Hall Maston. He was retired from DuPont Washington Works, a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church, enjoyed WVU sports and golfing and served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Gene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Grace Nocida Maston; one daughter, Melissa K. Maston of Georgia; two sons, Thomas W. Maston of Georgia and Jonathan P. Maston of Florida; two sisters, Opal Martin and Hazel Flower (Leo), both of St. Marys, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenna Waugh Maston on July 23, 1970; one son, Richard E. Maston; two brothers, Jimmy Maston and Carlton Maston; and one sister, Ruby Gaines.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with the Rev. John Frum officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Lucy Edna Drake

Lucy Edna Drake, 88, of Rockport, W.Va., passed away Oct. 25, 2008, at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility, Parkersburg, W.Va.

She was born July 12, 1920, in Dink, W.Va., a daughter of the late George E. and Lilly Ann Rhodes West.

Lucy was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She formerly attended the Little Laurel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Joy of Rockport, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Dana E. and Harold W. Joy, Ella Sue Holiday and Edna Joann Kincaid; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daulton M. Drake in 1995.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at the Carl Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Main St., Clay, W.Va. Interment will follow at the Moore Cemetery, Walback, W.Va. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Donald E. Full

Donald E. Full, 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 22, 2008 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 7, 1931 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Jesse and Ethel R. Maley Full.

He was retired with over 37 years of service from Elkem Metals, served in the Air Force, and enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Larry D. (Patty) Full of Belleville, W.Va.; two daughters, Linda S. (Lynn) Dickel of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Lisa D. (Scott) Lamb of Richmond, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Heather Boggs, Holly Bohman, Jason Dickel, Stephanie Elliott, Stacie Nesselrotte, Derek Full, Kyle Full, Meredith Lamb, Lindsey Lamb, Angela Lamb and Kendall Lamb; and nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Treadway, Dalton Treadway, Bryce Treadway, Kendra Elliott, Brodie and Blake Nesselrotte, Ava and Alayna Boggs, and Emerson 'Emmie' Bohman.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Janice I. Full, in 2003 and two infant sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Richard K. "Rich" Bentley

Richard K. 'Rich' Bentley, age 64, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away October 10, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in South Williamson, Kentucky, a son of the late Roy Lee Bentley Sr. and Edith Mae Stair Bentley. He retired as a tour coordinator with the Blennerhassett Museum, Fort Boreman Park Board of Directors and a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon.

Rich is survived by four sisters, Betty McCoy (Glen) of Vienna, W.Va., Penny Smith of Vienna, W.Va., Brenda Sitz and Gloria J. Bentley both Avon, NC; two brothers, Paul Bentley of Vienna, W.Va. and Johnny Bentley (Emma) of Winchester, Va.; several nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, Mimi Pitts.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, and three sisters; one niece and one nephew.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, 1341 Juliana Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Paul Drake and Rev. Michael Seeley officiating. Entombment will follow in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Memorial contributions may be made to Blennerhassett Museum 137 Juliana Street Parkersburg, W.Va. 26101.

Robert "Jeff" Davis

Robert 'Jeff' Davis, 45, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 17 2008 at his residence. He was born December 28, 1963, in Parkersburg, a son of Billy C. Davis of Columbus, Ohio and the late Murlie Salyer Davis.

Mr. Davis had been employed in construction work, focusing on framing and building. He was a member of the Winding Road Church of Christ, Parkersburg, W.Va.

In addition to his father, he is survived by one sister, Tammy Pfaff of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three brothers, Ryan Davis of Columbus, Ohio, Patrick Davis and wife Kathy also of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Michael Davis of Hilliard, Ohio; and one nephew, Keegan Davis also of Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to his mother who passed away in November 1972, he was preceded in death by numerous other relatives.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 25 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with Mr. Keith Malone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Esther F. Balsley

Esther F. Balsley, 95, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 21, 2008, at Sunbridge Nursing Facility.

She was born January 15, 1913, in Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Effie B. Morris Williams.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Susan) Balsley and Randal (Ramona) Balsley, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Julie Balsley and her fiancé, Doug Blackwell, of Parkersburg, W.Va., Lucas 'Luke' (Molly) Balsley of Fairfax, Virginia, Ryan Balsley and Kyle Balsley, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one brother Charles (Betty) Williams Jr., of Harrisville, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilson Balsley, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with the Minister Andy Robison officiating. Interment will follow at the Lubeck Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the funeral home.

Carrie V. Brooks

Carrie V. Brooks, 89, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Oct. 18, 2008, at her residence.

She was born in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arley and Katie Wilson Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Eugene Brooks of Cumberland, Va., Marie VanFossen of Tucson, Ariz., and Alvidor Brooks of Parkersburg, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Joy of Tucson, Ariz., Irene Ball of Walker, W.Va., and Dolly Weaver of Baltimore, Md.; and one brother, Leroy Smith of Tucson, Ariz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brooks, they were married for 70 years; one sister, Nellie Harris; and one brother, Raymond Smith.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Charles B. Barr officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Lubeck. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ermal J. Cline

Ermal J. Cline, 81, of Davisville, W.Va., passed away Oct. 17, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Mrs. Cline was born March 1, 1927, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clarence and Bernice Williams Richards of Reedy, W.Va. Ermal was a homemaker and formerly worked at the State Hospital in Spencer, W.Va.

She is survived by one son, Roger Cline of Fredericksburg, Va.; three sisters, Zeralda Blosser (Delbert), Wanda Bailey and Betty Boggs (Harry), all of Spencer, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Richards (Linda) of Spencer, W.Va.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ermal was preceded in death by her first husband, French Cline; her second husband, Lewis Cline; one son, David Cline; a daughter, Sandra Cline; a brother-in-law, Vernon Bailey; and a sister-in-law, Betty Richards.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Memorial Cemetery in Spencer, W.Va. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ruth Page Tanner

Ruth Page Tanner, age 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 18, 2008 at Eagle Pointe. She was born in Parkersburg a daughter of the late Budd W. and Audna Cooper Page. She was retired from Best Photo, enjoyed animals and boating on the river.

Ruth is survived by her husband Charles A. Tanner; two sons David Page Tanner and wife Patty of Williamstown, W.Va. and Daniel Scott Tanner and wife Moni of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one brother James Page and wife Bonnie of Vienna, W.Va.; four grandchildren Jason and Jeremy Tanner both of Williamstown, W.Va., John Tanner of Louisville, KY and Chris Tanner of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one great grandson Logan Tanner, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters Betty Eschbacher, Hazel Poole, Thelma Schrader and Helen Peck; two brothers Robert Page and Budd Page.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Eagle Pointe for the care they gave to Ruth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Tom Leasure officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
