David Owen Wright

David Owen Wright, 59, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away Nov. 30, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. David is survived by his wife, Susan Morris Wright; one daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Oathout of Valdosta, Ga.; one stepson, Leonard (Angela) Worley of Summerfield, Fla.; three sisters, Diane (Jerry) Williams of Lake City, Fla., Vera McIntyre of Ocala, Fla., and Patricia (Melvin) Speicher of Interlachen, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Kyler Oathout, both of Valdosta, Ga.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at the Palestine Cemetery in Palestine, W.Va. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Cecil Williams

Cecil Le'Roy Williams, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Dec. 2, 2008 at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.

He was born Feb. 27, 1924 in Stanley, North Dakota, a son of the late Le'Roy Cecil and Mary Florence Grumbo Williams.

Mr. Williams was very proud of his Chippewa Indian heritage. He retired from the United States Navy as an E6 in 1964, having served in both WWII and The Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg and also the Grand Central Church of Christ.

Surviving are four daughters, Cecila Wood of Belpre, Ohio, Ramona Grogan of Beaufort, South Carolina, Eva Swiger, also of Belpre, Ohio, and Cheryl Teague of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, Marvin L. Williams of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Loran D. Williams of Vienna, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Dyas of Idaho.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Z. Huddleston Williams, whom he married in 1947 in Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Doris Brougham and Ramona Williams; and one brother, Peter Luvaas.

Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va.is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harold E. Johnson

Harold E. Johnson, 88, of Parkersburg, died December 3, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born April 4, 1920 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late William E. and Ethyl G. Hanes Johnson.

Harold was retired with over 35 years of service from E. I. Dupont as a foreman, a navy veteran of WWII, member of Moose Lodge 118, VFW 1212, American Legion Post 15 and a member of the Camden Ave. Church of Christ.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Alice Johnson; two sons, Michael E. Johnson and wife, Judy of Dallas, TX and Thomas A. Johnson of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carl G. Johnson and William R. Johnson; and one sister, Hilda N. Sartor.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with David Newberry officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.

Ruth Swick McPherson

Ruth Swick McPherson, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 1, 2008 at The Willows.

She was born Dec. 8, 1919 in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Arthur Samuel and Clara Blanche Piggott Yeater.

Ruth was employed for many years at the Colin Anderson Center and was a member of the 10th Avenue Church of God.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth McPherson and Bob (Peggy) McPherson, both of Davisville, WV and Stanley (Sheila) McPherson of Boaz, WV; one daughter, Shirley Lainer of Columbus, OH; one sister June Wright of Clarksburg, WV; one brother-in-law, Elzie McPherson of Vienna, WV; six grandchildren, Brandon, Scott, Brian, David, Kathy, and Diane.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Park McPherson; one granddaughter, Pam; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 1PM on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with the Pastor Gary Pack officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.

Linda Whitaker

Linda "Carole" Whitaker, 63, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Nov. 25, 2008, following complications from colon cancer.

She was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Bill and Nelle Crout. Carole was a 1963 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a graduate of Mountain State College and a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. During her life, she was a pre-K Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Troop Leader and was active in various school related functions for her daughter Beth Connolly, who was a 1989 graduate of P.H.S. She was an accomplished seamstress and an avid reader.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Beth Connolly and husband Rick of Suffolk, Va.; one granddaughter, Kathryn Eleanor "Ellie" Connolly, also of Suffolk, Va.; and one brother, Jim Crout of Parkersburg, W.Va.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Parkersburg with The Rev. Canon Arthur L. Bennett III officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Lambert-Tatman Funral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, is assisting the Whitaker family.

Donald E. Crouser

Donald E. Crouser, 78, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away after a battle with cancer on Nov. 30, 2008 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born July 15, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio, the only son of the late James Earl Crouser and Alma Marie Allen Crouser-Frost.

Don graduated from Belpre High School in 1949 and served in the National Guard for 8 years. He was secretary for the Belpre Civitan Club in its origination. Don retired from Western-Southern Life Insurance after 35 years of service. During his life as a devoted husband and father, he enjoyed traveling, boating and camping with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lola Jean Fuller Crouser; daughters, Beverly Ann Crouser of Belpre, Ohio, Kimberly Kay Masters of Coolville, Ohio, and Tammy Jean Coe and husband Daniel Thomas Coe of Fleming, Ohio; son, Donald Wayne Crouser of Belpre, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Kathy Wolf-Crouser of Veto, Ohio; a nephew he loved as a son, William Henry Patterson of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; nieces, Velcie Zoeitsa Zegrea of Marietta, Ohio and Hazel Ann Stanley of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Seth E. Crouser, Zachery W. Crouser, Danielle E. Coe, Clayton B. Coe and Mary Kay Melliken; and two great-grandchildren, Abbey and Alex Melliken.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard F. Masters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Ralph Tisdale officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

David O. Wright

David Owen Wright, 59, of Mineral Wells, passed away November 30, 2008 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 29, 1949, in Anderson, SC, a son of the late James and Betty Kinard Cheshire. David had previously worked for Wal-Mart of Vienna and was a member of the Dupont Road Baptist Church. He loved softball, fishing, flower gardening, yard work and working with teens at the church.

David is survived by his wife Susan Morris Wright; one daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Oathout of Valdosta, GA; one step-son, Leonard (Angela) Worley of Summerfield, FL; three sisters, Diane (Jerry) Williams of Lake City, FL, Vera McIntyre of Ocala, FL and Patricia (Melvin) Speicher of Interlachen, FL; two grandchildren, Taylor and Kyler Oathout, both of Valdosta, GA.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 4, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., Parkersburg with Pastor Gene Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at the Palestine Cemetery in Palestine, WV. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Thursday, Dec.4 at the funeral home.

Edna Mae McCoy

Edna Mae McCoy, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 29, 2008, at her daughter's residence in Parkersburg.

She was born April 10, 1930, in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Mitchell A. and Helen Johnson Nutter. Edna was a member of the Blennerhassett (Marrtown) Church of the Nazarene. She retired from the Wood County Board of Education, where she was a cook.

She is survived by one daughter, Ruth A. McNemar and husband, Harold, of Parkersburg; two sons, Roger L. McCoy and wife, Lois, of Guysville, Ohio, and Randall L. McCoy and wife, Loretta, of Davisville, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Brown of Holt, Mich., and Della Gorrel of Paris, Ohio; one brother, Mitchell Nutter of Canton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Almond Laco McCoy; one great-granddaughter, Claudia Way; one brother, Franklin Nutter; and one sister, Garnet Adams.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Blennerhassett (Marrtown) Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bob Kniley officiating. Burial will follow in Coolville Cemetery in Coolville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Debra Kay Green

Debra Kay "Big Deb" Green, 47, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Nov. 27, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1961, in Geneva, Ill., a daughter of the late Dalton and Iamajean Clark. Deb worked at Das Rookhaus in Parkersburg for several years and formerly worked at The Lynn St. Tavern. She attended Calvary Mission Church in Parkersburg.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Bishop of the home; two grandchildren, Domario and Nashanti; two sisters, Doris Evans (Edward) and Mary Evans (Tom), all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 11 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Harry "Doc" Jordan of Belpre, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Green; and two sisters, Carolyn Green and Connie Bishop.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Jack Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Patrick T. Kincaid, Jr.

Patrick T. 'Red' Kincaid, Jr., 11, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord, March 28, 2009, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born June 25, 1997 in Morgantown, the son of Patrick T. and Barbara A. 'Madison' Kincaid, of Parkersburg.

Patrick was a student at Worthington Elementary. He always had a smile, and was a joy to everyone who knew him. He loved fishing, riding his bike and scooter, playing games on the computer and his Nintendo DS. He attended Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Madison Kincaid, of the home; one brother, Garrett Kincaid, of the home; grandparents, Cecil 'Darrell' Madison Sr., of Parkersburg, Francis 'Pete' and Doris Davis of Walker; aunts and uncles, Roberta 'Birda' (James) Fordyce of Mineral Wells, Tonya (Donald) Boyd of Parkersburg, Cecil Madison, Jr., of Parkersburg, Darrell E. Madison, of Parkersburg, Mark (Ramona) Kincaid, of Parkersburg; several cousins; and several great-aunts and great-uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Roberta (Bird) Madison.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike Cox and Pastor Todd Hill officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at the funeral home.

Virgie E. Canepari

Virgie E. Canepari, 90, of Parkersburg, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, at her residence, after a brief illness.

She was born April 20, 1918, in Wirt County, the daughter of the late Moses Burdette and Ora Mae Fought Mason.

Virgie worked at the Viscose, Penny Fare Market and Ralph's Market. She loved to sew, cook, arts and crafts and embroidery. She was the last surviving sibling of her family.

She is survived by her loving family; two sons, Harry E. Richards and wife, Shirley, of Lumberton, NC, Joe V. Canepari and wife, Shelly, of Davisville, WV; three daughters, Mary Lou Adams and husband, Robert, of Torch, OH, Rose Church and husband, Fred, of Vincent, OH, and Georgia Ann Beatty and husband, Stephen, of Denver, NC; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Virgie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Canepari; a son, James Russ Richards; three brothers, Harley Mason, Carroll Mason, and Delbert Mason; six sisters, Melvina Beyler, Della Mason, Grace Brown, Mildred Parker, Lela Williamson, and Myrtle Mason.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 at the funeral home.

Virgil N. Dowler

Virgil N. Dowler, 92, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Jackson County, W.Va., a son of the late William and Dora Yoho Dowler.

Virgil enjoyed hunting and fishing, and after his retirement from DuPont, spent much of his time farming and gardening. He was a 50-year Mason, past president of the South Parkersburg Lions Club as well as the Mountain State Sportsmen Association. He operated service stations for many years and worked as a boilermaker prior to going to work at DuPont. He was a U.S. Navy veteran from World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Norman Dowler and wife, Linda, of Southaven, Miss., and Bernard Dowler and wife, Ann, of Ripley, W.Va.; two daughters, Linda Donahue and husband, Larry, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Charlotte Bumgarner and husband, David, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three brothers, Wayne, Lester and Milford; one sister, Mamie; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah; and five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
