Roger D. Kerns

Roger Dale Kerns, 51, of Belpre, Ohio passed away May 24, 2009 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born Sept. 4, 1957, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Mary Josephine Fairbanks Kerns of Washington, W.Va., and the late Wilford Dale Kerns. Roger had previously worked at Goldsmit Black for over 25 years, was a life member of the DAV, a member of the VFW and enjoyed NASCAR and bowling.

Surviving is his soul mate, Sherri Ciulla of Belpre, Ohio; his daughter, Laiana D. Kerns of Belpre, Ohio; his son, Roger D. Kerns of Belpre, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tyler Kerns and Maylea Nichols; five brothers and sisters, Bonnie Rummer (Kelsie) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Pamela Brand (Mike) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Charles Kerns (Penny) of Belpre, Ohio, Sharon Danver (Dick) of Washington, W.Va., and Ronald Kerns (Sandra) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Kerns; and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, with Pastor Bill Duty officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the family in Roger's name. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Emma L. Furr

Emma Louise Furr, 81, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away May 21, 2009 at Ohio Valley Health Care.

She was born June 6, 1927, in Spencer, W.Va., a daughter of the late VaRoy and Addie Steele Hildreth.

Emma was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkersburg, W.Va.

Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Clen Furr; one son, Bob Furr of Belmont, W.Va.; two daughters, Betty (Ed) Hofmann of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Nancy (Mike) Reed of Marietta, Ohio; six grandchildren, Chris, Alan, Brian, Jackie, Jarrod and Lauren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Reed; three brothers, William, Jack and Charles Hildreth; and one sister, Frances Morford.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with Dr. William Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of West Virginia, P.O. Box 3980, 415 Dickinson Street, Charleston, WV 25301.

Thomas B. Teeter

Thomas Blaine Teeter, 61, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away May 22, 2009, at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Care Facility.

He was born April 8, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, a son of Bonnie Jensen Teeter Nichols of Parkersburg and the late William Teeter.

Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Europe and Vietnam. He was a Catholic by faith, belonged to the Independent Royal Arch Lodge No. 2, F & AM Masonic Lodge in New York, N.Y., was employed by the City of Parkersburg, where he served 17 years on the City Fire Department, after which he moved to Seattle, Wash., and later enjoyed computer work and enjoyed volunteering and helping others.

Along with his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Autumn Teeter, of San Francisco, Calif.

By his request, there will be no visitation or services.

The family requests that donations be made to The Hospice. Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services of Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

Olive M. Forshey

Olive Mae Forshey, 65, of Parkersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 5, 1944, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Don and Esther Wineman.

Olive attended Parkersburg High School class of 1963. She retired from Hope Gas after 21 years of service, was a member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ and loved to paint and work in her garden.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry A. Forshey; two daughters, Darla Lott and Treena Davis; two step-children, Heather (Jason) Moore and Ryan (Megan) Forshey; two sisters, Sharon Woomer and Kay (Don) Gault; two grandchildren, Michael (Jana) Dowler and Heather Davis; eight step-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and 'adopted' grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Cockerham; and one brother-in-law, Jack Woomer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Teddy Tackett officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at the funeral home.

Everett Arlon Boyles

Everett Arlon Boyles, 50, Fort Mill, S.C., passed away May 20, 2009 at his residence.

He was born February 7, 1959 in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of Wanda Culver Boyles and the late Raymond Eugene Boyles Sr. and was the husband of Sandy Riser Boyles.

Everett was employed with Rea General Contractors, was an avid boater, loved dirt car racing and served our great country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Riser Boyles; his mother, Wanda Culver Boyles of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a son, Chad Boyles of the home; a daughter, Ashley Boyles of the home; two brothers, Raymond E. Boyles Jr. of Davisville, W.Va. and Roger Boyles of Lincolnton, N.C.; five sisters, Sandra Meeks, Joyce Casto, Sharon Parsons and Tina Bollinger, all of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Jackie Cudd of Kings Mountain, N.C.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl 'Pete' Boyles and John Boyles; and one sister, Susan Lynn Boyles.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Everett will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, S.C., with cremation to follow.

There will also be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Monday, May 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Rev. Bud Corbin officiating.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the South Carolina Bank and Trust, Scholarship Fund for Ashley and Chad Boyles, PO Box 1602, Fort Mill, SC 29716.

Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, will be assisting the family with local arrangements.

Opal M. Francis

Opal M. Francis, 94, of Belpre, Ohio passed away May 18, 2009, at the Arcadia Nursing Home, Coolville, Ohio.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.

Virgil A. Wilson

Virgil A. Wilson, 80 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away May 19, 2009 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 19, 1929 in Tanner, W.Va. a son of the late Russell and Hallie Ware Wilson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. Virgil was retired from the Parkersburg Fire Dept.

He is survived by two sons, Randy Wilson of Pomeroy, Ohio and Todd Wilson of Marietta, Ohio; one daughter, Mary Lea Wilson of Parkersburg, W.Va.; four grandchildren, David Wilson, Caroline Wilson, Vanessa Wilson, and Cassidy Wilson; one great-granddaughter, Megan Wilson; and one sister, Judy Jonas of Parkersburg, W.Va.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Wilson in 1998.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Pisgah Cemetery in Gilmer County, W.Va. with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va.

Carroll V. Knotts

Carroll V. Knotts, 66, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away May 16, 2009, at his home.

He was born May 17, 1942, at Minnora, W.Va., the son of Perry Edward and Greeta Knotts. He was a 1960 graduate of Calhoun High School. He worked 23 years at E.I. DuPont, Washington Works.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Carolyn (Brown) Knotts; two daughters, Robin (Greg) May and Kimberly (Jim) Arnold; one son, Eric (Becky) Knotts; four grandchildren, Lyndsey and David Lemon and Emily and Ethan Knotts; four step-grandchildren, Cynthia Barton, Danielle and Katelyn May and Josh Arnold; three step-great-grandchildren, Alexia Arnold, Christian Posey and Rylan DeLancey; two sisters, Fern (Gene) Deel and Glenna (Arlen) Carpenter; and one brother, Harry (Frances) Knotts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronald (Daisy) Knotts.

A special thanks to all doctors and nurses who took care of Carroll during his illness.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at e Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Tim Lindsey and Robert May officiating. Interment will follow at the Torch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

William O. Tennant

William O. 'Bill' Tennant, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 peacefully at his home with family beside him.

Bill was born in Zanesville, Ohio March 26, 1935, a son of the late Odd William and Pauline Mautz Tennant. He graduated from Zanesville High School and was a master plumber for Tennant Plumbing and later worked at Ohio Ferro Alloy in Duncan Falls, Ohio. He was an associate of Caribbean Tans in Parkersburg for several years.

Bill was an avid golfer and a member of the Vienna Men's Association and a Worthington Golf Course member for 25 years. He watered greens at Worthington Golf Course for 10 years and loved every minute of the work. He also loved his golf buddies, owners and workers at Worthington Golf Course. An avid sports fan, Bill enjoyed Ohio State University Football, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.

Bill is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Shirley Hale; two daughters, Tracy Tennant of Phoenix, Arizona and Teresa Atchison of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Audrey Touvell of Zanesville, Ohio and Barbara McArthur of Las Vegas, Nevada; two children he considered family, Teah Strohl and husband, Jim of McConnelsville, Ohio and Art Hale and wife, Shavonne of Charleston, W.Va.; his grandchildren, Jessica, Bobby and Ryan Atchison, Leslie and Lanie Hale and a very special granddaughter, Erin Hale; great-grandchildren, Eli, Eddie and Arliss Ponchak; and several nieces and nephews. Bill also remained very close to his lifelong buddies, Bob Bland of Columbus, Ohio, Ronald Curry of Melbourne, Florida, and George Davis of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In addition to his parents he preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Corson.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at The Celebration Center, 1944 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Rob Clegg officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Celebration Center Church at the above address. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. is serving the Tennant family.

Randal Calvin Greiner

Randal Calvin Greiner, 51 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away May 16, 2009 at the St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born May 2, 1958 in Parkersburg the son of the late Donald E. Greiner and Loretta Starr Greiner Anderson of Belpre, Ohio. He was a carpenter by trade, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his mother he is survived by two sons, Justin D. Greiner of Delaware, Ohio and Jeremy S. Greiner of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, Brian E. Carpenter of Colonial Heights, Virginia; and three sisters, Janice White of Davisville, W.Va., Michelle Rodriguez of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Tonya Wynch of Marietta, Ohio.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va.

Ronald Lee Dixon, Sr.

Ronald Lee Dixon, Sr., 61, of Davisville, W.Va., passed away on May 17, 2009 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 9, 1947 in Fayetteville, W.Va., a son of Sara Faye Sweet Dixon of Ames Heights, W.Va. and the late Charles Randolph Dixon.

Ronald was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army with the 196th LIB, F Troop, and an over-the-road truck driver for companies such as Henderson Trucking. His handle was 'Droopy'. He was a member of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church where he served as a United Methodist Lay Speaker and was a two time trophy winner of their Chili Cook-Off. Ron loved his church and was known by the youth as 'Mr. Ron'.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Donna Elaine Biles Dixon; two daughters, Tanya Eldridge and her fiancé, Eric Driggs of Sardis, Ohio, Christie Michelle Ball and her husband, Chad of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sons, Ronald Dixon Jr. and his wife, Alissa of Washington, W.Va., Charles R. Dixon of Ansted, W.Va.; one step-daughter, Cristine Occhiuzzi and her husband, Joseph of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Tammy Ford and Betsy Lesher (Dennis) both of Ames Heights, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Casey, Steven and Austin Eldridge, and Cody, Hunter and Justin Ball, and Andrew (Tara) Florence of Westerville, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Avery James and Everett Michael Florence; several nieces and nephews; his two dogs, Sarge and Blackey; and his extended church family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Monty Dixon.

A Memorial service to celebrate Ronald's life will be Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, Williamstown, W.Va. with Dr. Gary E. Nelson officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-7 at the church. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, will be assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, 1295 River Road; Williamstown WV 26187.
