Brenda Joyce Shelton Weaver

Brenda Joyce Shelton Weaver, 56, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away May 5, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 24, 1952, a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Peggy Elswick Shelton.

Brenda graduated from Martinsburg High School. Following high school, Brenda relocated to the Parkersburg area where several of her relatives resided, including her Aunt Shirley and her Uncle Scholl. She received her registered nurse degree from West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She started her nursing career at St. Joseph's Hospital in pediatrics and most recently was Director of Nursing at ResCare in Parkersburg. She was Director of Nursing at Camp Echo, was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Parkersburg and was a member of the Blennerhassett Church of Nazarene. Brenda loved to play bingo, traveling in her and her husband's RV and loved her four Shihtzu dogs.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Samuel I. Weaver; one daughter, Kimberly Roucke and her husband, Aaron; one son, Samuel L. Weaver "Little Sam"; one brother, Larry H. Shelton and his wife, Terry, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Trace, Trenton and Georgia.

Brenda was proud to be the niece of Baseball Legend, Lou Burdette, who was a former Big League Pitcher with the Milwaukee Braves, who pitched in the 1957 World Series.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Robert Kniley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Hoyt Ellison

William Hoyt Ellison, 79, formerly of Washington, W.Va., passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, at River Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Virginia Beach, Va.

Born Nov. 30, 1929, in Milo, Calhoun County, W.Va., Hoyt was the oldest son of the late Rastus and Dola Jarvis Ellison.

Hoyt retired from DuPont Washington Works in 1985 with 30 years service. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Dorothy Jean Trissler Ellison; sons, William (Bill) Ellison Jr. and wife, Karen, of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Daniel Ellison of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughters, Charlette Wolfe and husband, David, of Grandy, N.C., and Peggy Ellison of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Ellison and Richard Ellison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Buell Ellison and Harold (Jack) Ellison.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with the Rev. Michael Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be by American Legion Post 15 Parkersburg. Friends and family may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Janet Lynn Duncan Wilt

Janet Lynn Duncan Wilt, 51, of Davisville, W.Va. went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2009, in Charleston, W.Va.

She was born Aug. 4, 1957, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of Blanche Conley Tabor and the late Jesse F. Duncan Sr.

Janet was a homemaker and a homecare provider. She bowled in the Special Olympics and loved to read her Bible. She was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother; her husband, Loren "Frank" Wilt; one son, Frank L. Wilt of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Debra A. "Debbie" Duncan of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three brothers, Jesse F.(Gwen) Duncan Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Jim Duncan (Brenda) of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Clinton R. Duncan of Phoenix, Ariz.; one grandson, Evan Loren Wilt of Weirton, W.Va.; two stepsisters, Sharon (Bob) Hinton of Belpre, Ohio and Maryann Tabor of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two stepbrothers, Roger (Judy) Tabor of Meadsville, W.Va., and Ray Tabor of Parkersburg, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several step nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Tabor; and one stepbrother, Ron Tabor.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Don E. Brandeberry

Don E. Brandeberry, 74, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Arbors of Marietta, Ohio.

He was born April 25, 1935, at Frost, Ohio, a son of the late Thomas and Alice Grubb Brandeberry.

Don was a graduate of Belpre High School with the class of 1954. He served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1957-1959. He had been employed with Marbon and Borg Warner Chemical Plants and retired in January 1991 from G.E. Plastics at Washington, W.Va.

Don was a member of the Mullen Memorial Baptist Church, Belpre, and a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge 609.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren during extra sports and school activities. He also enjoyed attending different auctions and flea markets.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Busch Brandeberry; daughters, Sherry L. McMullen and husband, Pete, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Sonja L. Butcher and husband, Gary, of Lubeck, W.Va.; grandson, Blaine Butcher; granddaughter, Amber McMullen; one brother, Larry T. Brandeberry of Belpre, Ohio; nephew, Tom Brandeberry; and nieces, Jennie Cox Dillon and Maria Orndoff Lones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Brandeberry Orndoff and husband, Todd, and Joan Brandeberry Cox and husband, Rusty.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at e Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Veto Cemetery, Veto, Ohio, with military honors by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Belpre Masonic Lodge 609 will conduct Masonic services at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

David E. Roberts

David E. Roberts, 80, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away April 4, 2009.

David was a World War II veteran. He worked as a pipefitter. He was a kind and loving man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janette Roberts; his two daughters, Linda Roberts and Christina Roberts; and his brother, Richard.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy and her husband, Speedy, of Florida; his daughters, Nancy and husband, Tim Yelton, of Sevierville, Tenn., Sharon Hair and her husband of Washington, D.C., and Donna Roberts; and close family and friends, Carolyn Stephens, Irene Stephens and Chuck Stephens all of Belpre, Ohio.

Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre, was in charge of arrangements.

Roger D. Miller Sr.

Roger D. Miller Sr., 62, of Parkersburg, W.Va. died May 2, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cynthia L. Helman

Cynthia Lynn Somerville Helman, 50, of Elizabeth, W.Va. passed away April 27, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, with all of her dreams fulfilled, in Jacksonville, N.C. at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 15, 1958, a daughter of the late David Milton Somerville and Cisley Irene Melrose Somerville of Elizabeth.

Cynthia was an RN with 30 years of service, having spent the majority of her career in the Emergency Department at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed going to the beach, crocheting and crafts; having helped with the clothing for all of her nieces' weddings. She was Methodist by faith.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Teresa Marie Walters and husband, Ryan, of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sisters, Kathy Ann Shriver of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Karen Sue Powell and husband, Mark, of Palestine, W.Va. and Barbara Jean McVey and husband, Mike, of Wadesville, W.Va.; two grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jacob and Dylan Walters; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Michael Somerville.

The family will receive friends for fellowship from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, W.Va.

Howard Lee Dicken

Howard Lee Dicken, 51, of Little Hocking, Ohio passed away April 28, 2009 after a short illness.

< He was born in Mason, W.Va., a son of the late Howard W. and Betty L. Baker Dicken. He worked for L.A. Pipeline as a truck driver, was a 1976 graduate of Warren High School and Washington State Community College. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Door of Hope Fellowship Church. Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and golf.

Lee is survived by his wife Carol Carson Dicken; one daughter, Mary Ann Hanson (Earl); one son, Jason Lee Dicken all of Little Hocking, Ohio; three brothers Bill Bobo (Nancy) of Hockingport, Ohio, John Bobo of Reedsville, Ohio and Chris Dicken (Judy) of Little Hocking, Ohio; five grandchildren: Carrie, Joshua, Aleesha, Deven and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Eugene Bobo; mother and father- in- law, Doris and Harold Carson; and one grandson, David Hanson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Gerald Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Torch Cemetery. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Richard D. Taylor

Richard D. 'RV' Taylor, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away on June 28, 2009 at Eagle Pointe.

He was born June 27, 1925, in Parkersburg, W.Va. son of the late James E. and Mae Vickers Taylor.

Richard was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of January 1943. He was a WWII veteran having served with the 3164th Signal Service Battalion on Guam. He retired after 32 years with Union Carbide Gulf Oil Company and Chevron Chemical Company. He later became an amateur radio operator, call sign K8HYE.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Lynn Taylor of Pretoria, South Africa and Cheryl Jo Schaetzle of Copley, Ohio; one son, Mark E. Taylor of Moncure, N.C.; one sister, Claradell Smith of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, JoAnn Marks Taylor and his third wife, Mary Jane Taylor; three brothers, James R. Taylor, Robert E. Taylor and William E. Taylor.

Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Seventh Street United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, W.Va, with Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Arrangements by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg.

Marjorie Ellen King

Marjorie Ellen Mullins King, 75, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on June 27, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing Home, North Olmsted, Ohio.

She was born May 30, 1934, in Parkersburg, W.Va. a daughter of the late Carl and Edna Shawver Mullins.

Marjorie was a 1952 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a homemaker, was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, loved being with her children and grandchildren and was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by one daughter, Taunia Bowman (Kirk) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Gregory King (Eileen) of North Olmsted, Ohio; two sisters, Elaine Wallace of Marietta, Ohio and Eileen Tarkett of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, William Mullins of Reno, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Wilkens, Steffanie Wilkens, Ashley Wilkens, Erin King, Christine Ribblett, Daniel Bowman and William Bowman; and five great-grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Isaac, Maxwell and Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Phillips; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Scott Morehead officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Keith Allen Loscar

Keith Allen Loscar, 46, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on June 27, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1963, in Parkersburg, a son of Marilyn Newlon Boyles of Davisville, W.Va., and the late Leo Loscar.

Keith worked as a carpenter for over 33 years for various construction companies and loved woodworking. He loved children, music and had a big heart which carried through with him coaching Colt and Mustang Baseball for eight years.

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Loretta Martin Loscar; one daughter, Danielle Loscar of Davisville, W.Va.; one son, Victor Loscar of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Kimberly Loscar of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one stepsister, Vickie; two brothers, Kevin Loscar and Karl Loscar, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five stepbrothers, Gene, Arley, Cole, Derek and Tommy; three grandchildren, Joshua, Skylar and Izabella; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Bob Long officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Edna Lourie Lowe

Edna Lourie Lowe, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va. (Beechwood), passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Sunbridge Care Parkersburg.

She was born Dec. 7, 1921 in Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey A. and Marjorie Eddy Linch.

Mrs. Lowe was formerly employed at Dudley's Florist and Mister Bee Potato Chip Company. She loved gardening and enjoyed flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Allman and Judy Gibson and her husband, Larry all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Mark Massey, Tim Massey, and Tessa Miller all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Michael Massey of Myrtle Beach, SC, Matt Massey of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Josh Hays of Vienna, W.Va.; one great-great-grandchild, Hayley; and one brother, Ray Linch of Vienna, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. 'Tobe' Lowe in 1990; one son-in-law, William V. 'Bill' Allman Jr.; and two brothers, Delbert Linch and Dan Mollohan.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating. Services will conclude with interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
