Geraldine E. Emerick

Geraldine E. "Gerrie" Fury Emerick, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Friday, July 24, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Wood County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Frank and Emily Winans Fury.

Gerrie was a graduate of Parkersburg High School; was a homemaker; belonged to the Pioneer Antique Auto Club; and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel L. Emerick and wife, Joann, of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Thomas L. Emerick and wife, Robin, of Washington, W.Va.; two daughters, Rebecca J. Gardner and husband, Larry, of Deerwalk, W.Va. and Ruth A. Leach and husband, Mike, of Williamstown, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Greg Emerick and Lisa Burge of Parkersburg, W.Va., Christopher Emerick of Mosier, Ore., Eric Evans of Morgantown, W.Va., Amy Conto of Woodbury, Conn., and Brett Leach of Williamstown, W.Va.; and five great-grandchildren, Mason and Andrew Conto, Will and Sophia Burge and Armani Evans.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Lester" Emerick, in 2002.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with the Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Robert E. Brown

Robert E. "Bob" Brown, 61, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Deloris Brooks Brown of Williamstown and the late Carl E. Brown. Robert worked for the U.S. Government as an inspector, was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Williamstown, Moose Legion, Moose Lodge of Marietta and attended the Boaz Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Jennie Sue Ankrom, and one brother, Harold E. Brown, both of Williamstown, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with the Rev. Robert Alfred officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

May Juanita Redding

May Juanita Lucas Redding, 92, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away July 23, 2009, at Ohio Valley Healthcare.

She was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Pike Community, Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late William O. and Alice Martin Lucas.

May retired from the Food Workers Union of Baltimore, Md. She was a member of the Wesleyan United Methodist Church, Vienna.

She is survived by one son, Curtis Lucas and wife Linda of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one grandson, Christopher Lucas and wife Whitney of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Colton Lucas, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and one brother, William Ed Lucas of Pennsboro, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll Dovell; her second husband, James Redding; and one sister, Oleta Haynes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W, Va., with Pastor Dan Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Earl Lee Koon

Earl Lee Koon, 81, formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away at his home in Belpre, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 22, 2009.

He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Belpre, one of eight children of the late John and Abby Knotts Koon.

Earl served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952 with duty in the Philippines, Japan, Hawaii, Guam and Korea. Upon his return home, he started working at Penn Metal, later Keane Corporation, in Vienna, W.Va., and remained with the company until his retirement in 1990.

He also worked part time at Cobb's Drive Thru on Seventh Street in Parkersburg and assisted Gerald Boone on his Little Debbie cookie delivery route.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Lorene Grogg; a daughter, Jill LeBrasseur (Daniel), of Newark Del.; and two brothers, John Koon and Roscoe Koon of the Cleveland, Ohio, area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn P. Simons Koon in 2004; two sisters, Annie Stevens and Clara Kirkpatrick; and three brothers, Howard Koon, Herman Koon and Harold Koon.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio, with Jim Lynch officiating. American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg will conduct full military honors at the funeral home on Saturday. Services will conclude with interment in the Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery in Ritchie County, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Dolores M. Taylor

Dolores M. Taylor, 65, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away July 22, 2009 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Henry L. and Nola M. Matheson Taylor.

Dolores retired in 2000 after 34 years of service with the Bureau of Public Debt.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Matthew Craig and Patrisha Ann Taylor of Ft. Meade, Maryland; three sisters, Margaret F. Wilson of Parkersburg, W.Va., Patricia A. Taylor of Vienna, W.Va., and Barbara S. Coleman of Texas; and one brother, Robert L. Taylor of Vienna, W.Va.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, James W. Taylor.

Cremation services have been entrusted to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave Vienna, W.Va.

Dolores was a lover of animals and the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, 29th & Poplar Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Penny Lorain Wilson Law

Penny Lorain Wilson Law, 31, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away July 20, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 26, 1978, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Daniel L. and Mary E. Boyce Wilson of Mineral Wells. Penny was employed in Same Day Care at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital as a patient care technician. She was a 1996 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, was a member of the International Bowhunting Organization (IBO) and the Archery Shooters Association (ASA), was a staff shooter for the Darton Bow Company, had won the world archery championship and state archery championships numerous times and won various other archery competitions. Penny was a Notary Public and attended the Grace Gospel Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Richard B. Law; two sons, Darton Lamont and Easton Layne Roupe, both of the home; three sisters, Alisa (Rick) Crispen of Newark, W.Va., Melissa Wilson of Parkersburg and Melinda (Bill) Michaels of Henrietta, Mo.; four brothers, Mark (Melinda) Wilson of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Allen (Kelli) Wilson of Lubeck, W.Va., Chad (Rachel) Harrison of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Daniel (Elizabeth) Wilson of Parkersburg, W.Va.; her mother and father-in-law, Richard and Louise Law of Williamstown, W.Va.; and her brother-in-law, Tom (Gloria) Law of Virginia.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Helen Middleton Ryan

Helen Middleton Ryan, age 79, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Monday July 20, 2009 at Worthington Manor.

She was born in the Coldwater Community in Doddridge, County, W.Va. a daughter of the late H. Brooks and Mildred Wade Middleton.

She retired after 20 years of service as a sales associate with Sears of Vienna; was a member of Wayside United Methodist Church Vienna, where she attended Fellowship Sunday School Class and was also a member of the Agape Circle at Wayside; a member of the Indian Fork Baptist Church at Coldwater Community, WV, the Order of Eastern Star #51 Vienna chapter and the Doddridge County CEO's.

Helen is survived by her husband Kenneth R. Ryan Sr.; four sons Kenneth R. Jr. of Clarksburg, W.Va., Edward H. (Barbara) of Las Vegas, NV, Michael L. of Hempstead Beach, North Carolina and Ronald S. (Tammy) of Twinsburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren Laura Beth Lloyd (Lyle) of Urbana, Ohio, Jason Ryan Atlanta, Georgia, Tracie Rather (Randy) of Vienna, W.Va., Erin Perez (Alex) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert Ryan (Cheryl) of Roanoke, Virginia, Jamie Oakes (Ryan) of Annapolis, Maryland, Ashley Ryan of Woodbridge, Virginia and Rebecca Ryan of Twinsburg, Ohio; eight great grandchildren Joe Rather, Courtney Rather and Nicole Rather of Vienna, W.Va., Anthony Perez, Kadence Perez of Las Vegas, Nevada and Spencer Malay, Alex Oakes and Conner Oakes of Annapolis, Maryland; one brother Robert Middleton of Parkersburg, W.Va.

Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Middleton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Sandy Runnion, Dan Fisher and Randy Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Amelai (Aurelia) Scotto Di Luzio

Amelia (Aurelia) Scotto Di Luzio, 67, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

She was born in Naples, Italy, a daughter of the late Cipriano and Teresa Lubrano Scotto Rinaldi. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and was a "Mother to Everyone."

Aurelia is survived by three children, Jerry Scotto Di Luzio and his wife, Jeni, and children, Michael and Luca of Vienna, W.Va.; Fabio Scotto Di Luzio and his wife, Annette, of Spring, Texas, and Mena Woodburn and her husband, Zach, of Vienna, W.Va.; one sister, Marrinuccia Scotto Rinaldi of Naples, Italy; and two brothers, Frank Scotto Rinaldi of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Peppe Scotto Rinaldi of Vienna, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michele Scotto Di Luzio on Oct. 3, 2007.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, July 25, 2009 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Eric Hall as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Parkersburg. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., where Wake services will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Helen P. Coe

Helen Pearl Coe, 85 of The Inn at Marietta, Ohio formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away July 18, 2009 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

She was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Doddridge County, WV, a daughter of the late Harley Z. and Alma Merryman Childers. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers and solving puzzles. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church, Pettyville, WV.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Thomas) Decker of Marietta; her grandson, Ian (Debbie) Decker of Marietta; two great-grandchildren, Kyler and Diamond Decker both of Marietta; three sisters, Carrie Starcher of Columbus, Ohio, Atha Dowler of Washington, WV., and Ruby Clevenger of Parkersburg; and three brothers, Glenn Childers of Barrickville, WV., Arthur Childers of Salem, WV, and Cecil Childers of Stonewood, WV.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Brooks Coe on June 13, 2008; five sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Roger Benson officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Monday and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Paul C. McDonald

Paul Carl McDonald age 84 of Leachtown, WV, passed away July 18, 2009 at the Arbors of Marietta, OH.

He was born April 30, 1925 in Wood County, WV a son of the late Nathan F. and Elizabeth Kemmner McDonald. Paul retired from Corning Glass, Parkersburg, WV, in 1983 with over 30 years service and attended the Winding Road Church of Christ, Parkersburg.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Naomi Bell McDonald and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg with Randy VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in the Kanawha Baptist Cemetery, Leachtown. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sandra Virginia Cain

Sandra Virginia Cain age 67 of Davisville, WV, passed away July 17, 2009 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.

She was born June 27, 1942 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Clayton McCrady and Ruby Carpenter Garner.

She had worked at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Dept. and loved being with her family and grandchildren.

Sandra is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Fluharty of Walker, WV. and Kristi Renee Taylor of Parkersburg; two sons, Gerald M. and Jeffrey W. Taylor both of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters; and three brothers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in dearth by her husband, Gerald Taylor, Sr.; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St., Parkersburg with Pastor Chuck Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Monday until time of services at the funeral home.

The family requests that donations be made to the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Sandra's memory.

Winifred "Winnie" Boston

Winifred (Winnie) E. Kuhl Boston, 82 of Parkersburg, WV, passed away July 17, 2009 at the St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.

She was born August 20, 1926 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Arbie H. and Lona Cawthon Kuhl. Winnie was retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company, Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed meeting friends at the Vienna, WV. McDonald's and loved to use her computer and email friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Willis) Hughes of Vienna; one grandson, Roger (Denise) Hughes of Parkersburg; she was known as 'gigi' by her quadruplet great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Ann, Hailey Leigh, Paige Elaine, and Joshua Wayne Hughes; one brother, Bobbie (Donna) Kuhl of Parkersburg ; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar (Ed) Boston; her son, Gary Wayne Eagle; a grandson, Rodney Wayne Hughes; three sisters, Ermal Edwards, Edith Rafferty, and Mary Livingston; and two brothers, Staunton and Kenneth Kuhl.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
