Maria M. Trimble

Maria Margareta Thaler Trimble, 82 of Parkersburg, W.Va. left this earth to be in the heavenly realms with her Savior Jesus Christ on July 6, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born Feb. 21, 1927 in Wuerzburg, Germany a daughter of the late Georg and Margareta Thaler. And in addition to her mother, she was raised by her stepfather, Eduard 'Vati' Klueber. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a member of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Marietta.

Maria is survived by three daughters, Anna Maria Denison and her husband, Christopher 'Kit' of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Linda Carol Trimble of Philadelphia, PA and Ramona Rosa Balsley and her husband, Randy of Parkersburg, W.Va. Oma is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Boyd Trimble; her son, Wayne Roscoe Trimble; and her sister, Rosa Schmidt.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Marietta, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Westra officiating. Burial will follow at Riverhill Cemetery in Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cartwright, Dr. Edmands, Dr. Gondalia, Dr. Mason and the staff at St. Joseph's SICU and 3 North for their kindness and excellent care.

Russell L. Nichols

Russell L. 'Nick' Nichols, 68, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on July 4, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born April 16, 1941, in Parkersburg, a son of the late William T. and Bernice V. Snider Nichols.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from K-Mart, south Parkersburg and worked for over 20 years at the Parkersburg News and Sentinel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Nick is survived by two daughters, Joyce Nichols and Tammy Nichols, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Russell L. 'Nick' Nichols, Jr. of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Joyce Davidson, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Kenneth Nichols and Gregory Nichols, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Biles.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.

Robert E. Lamb

Robert E. Lamb, 81, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

He was born July 17, 1027, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a son of the late Arnold C. and Ruth Price Lamb.

Robert retired as a machine operator at Marbon/G.E. Plastics. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #169 A.F.&A.M.;, 32nd Scottish Rite, Nemesis Shrine and attended Mineral Wells Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma J. Austin Lamb; one son, Robert Scott (Tammi) Lamb of Thomasville, N.C.; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Gary) Singer of Titusville, Fla. and Teri Logan of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Frances Turner of Weston, W.Va.; and one brother, Jimmy Lamb of Weston, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Mary Beth Ann Layes.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Pastor Don Yeager officiating.

Richard V. Taylor

Richard V. "RV" Taylor, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on June 28, 2009, at Eagle Pointe.

He was born June 27, 1925, in Parkersburg, son of the late James E. and Mae Vickers Taylor.

Richard was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, class of January 1943. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the 3164th Signal Service Battalion on Guam. He retired after 32 years with Union Carbide, Gulf Oil Co. and Chevron Chemical Co. He later became an amateur radio operator, call sign K8HYE.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Lynn Taylor of Pretoria, South Africa, and Cheryl Jo Schaetzle of Copley, Ohio; one son, Mark E. Taylor of Moncure, N.C.; one sister, Claradell Smith of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, JoAnn Marks Taylor; his third wife, Mary Jane Taylor; and three brothers, James R. Taylor, Robert E. Taylor and William E. Taylor.

Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Seventh Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Butler officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va.

William D. Connelly

William 'Bill' D. Connelly, 66, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away June 30, 2009, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 14, 1942, in Monterey, California, a son of Elvin J. Connelly of New Mexico, and the late Bonnie Cross Favinger.

Bill retired as a Data Processing Manager from Alcan Products (the former Kaiser Aluminum). He was a longtime member of the EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association. He also built and flew a RV-6 aircraft. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a Branch President and counselor in the Charleston, West Virginia Stake Presidency.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Lorraine Smith Connelly; his father, Elvin J., and step-mother, Sarah Connelly of New Mexico; two daughters, Carolyn Connelly and Michelle Beal and husband Todd, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sons, Paul W. Connelly and wife Kelly of Columbus, Ohio, and Daniel L. Connelly and wife Patty, also of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Charisse Favinger of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Erin Connelly and husband Don Perea of New Mexico; three brothers, Ronald J. Connelly, James 'Jimmy' Favinger, and Craig Connelly, all of California; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Russell W. Connelly; his mother, Bonnie Cross Favinger, and his step-father, James A. Favinger.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2515 Capital Drive, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Bishop Mark Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, to the Troop of the donor's choice.

Marjorie Ellen King

Marjorie Ellen Mullins King, 75, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on June 27, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing Home, North Olmsted, Ohio.

She was born May 30, 1934, in Parkersburg, W.Va. a daughter of the late Carl and Edna Shawver Mullins.

Marjorie was a 1952 graduate of Parkersburg High School, a homemaker, was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies, loved being with her children and grandchildren and was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by one daughter, Taunia Bowman (Kirk) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Gregory King (Eileen) of North Olmsted, Ohio; two sisters, Elaine Wallace of Marietta, Ohio and Eileen Tarkett of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, William Mullins of Reno, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Wilkens, Steffanie Wilkens, Ashley Wilkens, Erin King, Christine Ribblett, Daniel Bowman and William Bowman; and five great-grandchildren, Jake, Luke, Isaac, Maxwell and Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Phillips; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Scott Morehead officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Keith Allen Loscar

Keith Allen Loscar, 46, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on June 27, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1963, in Parkersburg, a son of Marilyn Newlon Boyles of Davisville, W.Va., and the late Leo Loscar.

Keith worked as a carpenter for over 33 years for various construction companies and loved woodworking. He loved children, music and had a big heart which carried through with him coaching Colt and Mustang Baseball for eight years.

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Loretta Martin Loscar; one daughter, Danielle Loscar of Davisville, W.Va.; one son, Victor Loscar of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Kimberly Loscar of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one stepsister, Vickie; two brothers, Kevin Loscar and Karl Loscar, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; five stepbrothers, Gene, Arley, Cole, Derek and Tommy; three grandchildren, Joshua, Skylar and Izabella; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Bob Long officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Edna Lourie Lowe

Edna Lourie Lowe, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va. (Beechwood), passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Sunbridge Care Parkersburg.

She was born Dec. 7, 1921 in Ritchie County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey A. and Marjorie Eddy Linch.

Mrs. Lowe was formerly employed at Dudley's Florist and Mister Bee Potato Chip Company. She loved gardening and enjoyed flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Allman and Judy Gibson and her husband, Larry all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Mark Massey, Tim Massey, and Tessa Miller all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Michael Massey of Myrtle Beach, SC, Matt Massey of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Josh Hays of Vienna, W.Va.; one great-great-grandchild, Hayley; and one brother, Ray Linch of Vienna, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. 'Tobe' Lowe in 1990; one son-in-law, William V. 'Bill' Allman Jr.; and two brothers, Delbert Linch and Dan Mollohan.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating. Services will conclude with interment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Shirley Shaffer

Shirley Presley Shaffer, 69, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away June 25, 2009 at the Trinity West Hospital.

She was born April 13, 1940 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert Presley and Fay Rhea Presley Jones. She was a homemaker and was a Lutheran by faith.

She is survived by one son, Glen Justice Jr. of Steubenville, Ohio; one daughter, Jeanette Justice of Mingo Junction, Ohio; two brothers, Ray Presley (Colleen) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Jim Presley (Cheri) of Atwater, Ohio; two sisters, Arlene Hesson of Nashville, Tenn. and Ada Scott of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or services, burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mineral Wells, W.Va. at the convenience of the family.

Christopher Lawrence Dickel

Christopher Lawrence Dickel, 19, of Mineral Wells, went to be with his Lord courageously on September 20, 2009.

He was born January 29, 1990, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Robert 'Sam' Dickel of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Lori Beers Dickel of Vienna, W.Va.

Christopher was formerly employed as a caretaker for disables persons and enjoyed all athletics, including football, baseball, and wrestling. He was a former graduate of Parkersburg South High School and was attending West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Christopher was very active in the W.Va. Youth Diabetic Camps, having been a volunteer and later serving as a youth counselor. He was also a member of Chesterville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Patricia Deem of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Judy Dickel of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his maternal grandparents, Nancy and Ray Clift of Mingus, TX; two sisters, Stephanie Broadwater of Vienna, W.Va. and Brandy Jo Marple of Bridgeport, W.Va.; extended family including three step-brothers, Joshua and Brian Ayers, both of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Jeff Moore and his children Jake and Tabitha of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; aunts and uncles, Amy Beers of St. Petersburg FL, Lynn and Linda Dickel of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Sherry and Doug Cox of Lubeck, W.Va..; extended grandmother, Ruth Self of Elizabeth, W.Va.; numerous cousins including Daniel and Tony Dickel, and Shelby Sommerville of St. Petersburg, FL, and numerous others too many to mention who all will love and miss Chris dearly; and also a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Eugene Jacobson; and his great-grandmother, Loris Jane Carrol.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg, with Pastor Paul Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-8PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

You are here because you were a friend of Chris's. If you knew Chris than you know who I am.

If there is one thing you want to do to honor Chris and his family, you can stop wanting to revenge Chris's death. He would not want anyone of you to get yourself hurt and this would be more tragic than it is.

Please learn from my hurt and loss, that will never go away, and may no other parent face this pain and loss of their child.

Turn to God, not guns for your healing.

William R. Ingram

William R. 'Red' Ingram, 88, passed away at his residence on September 21, 2009.

He was born on June 19, 1921, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late William R. Sr. and Elizabeth Affolter Ingram.

Bill was an Army Veteran of World War II, retired Home Builder and Iron Worker. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and walking.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Etta Thompson Ingram; his three children, Ruth and husband, Tom Johnson of Washington, W.Va., Thomas and wife, Brenda Ingram of Washington, W.Va., and Vicki and husband, Mark Nestor of Elizabeth, W.Va; five grandchildren, Thomas Ingram Jr., Timothy Ingram, Jeffrey Ingram, Jennifer Ingram, MacKenzie Nestor; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Ingram; and three sisters, Emma Beeler, Mary Ingram, and Anna Ingram.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Everett Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, September 23, at the funeral home.
