Debra "Debbie" D. Watts

Debra "Debbie" D. Watts, 51, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of Vida May (Hamilton) Watts Florence Williamson of Parkersburg and the late Don Watts.

She was a 1976 graduate of Parkersburg High School, worked at the Foodland store on Plum Street and was active with the March of Dimes.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Robert Florence of Parkersburg, W.Va.; her niece and nephew, Breanna and R.J. Florence; her best friend and sister, Sylvia Diann "DiDi" Morehead-Ellison and Richard Chipps and his sons, Josh and Cody.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents, Ted and Oleta Hamilton.

Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor John Longfellow officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home for donations to help Debra's family with final expenses.

Austin E. Stoops

Austin E. Stoops, 63, of Cumberland, Ohio, formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

He was born March 25, 1947, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph and Violet Buckley Stoops. He was a retired roofer with Local #242 of Parkersburg. His life revolved around his family and his love for fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carla McDonald Stoops; four daughters, Shelly Yerian (Rick) of McConnelsville, Ohio, Missy Wendenoja (Denny) of Cumberland, Ohio, Mica Krigbaum (Kris) of McConnelsville, Ohio, and Alicia Wolfe and Mike Deal of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Austin Edward Stoops of England; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Lutz (Fred) of Vienna, W.Va., and Geraldine Dornick (Bill) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two brothers, William Darrell Stoops (Mary) of North Carolina and Eugene Stoops (Debbie) of Coolville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin David Stoops; and a special uncle, Billie Jo Stoops.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Tom Frye and Jerry Alawat officiating. Burial will be in Lytlesburg Cemetery in Cumberland, Ohio. Visitation will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

John Robert "Bob" Russell

John Robert (Bob) Russell, 82, of Parkersburg, celebrated resurrection April 25, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 3, 1927, in Putnan Texas, the youngest son of the late Neil M. Sr. and Lura Lea Russell.

He is survived by one brother, Neil M. Russell Jr. of Parkersburg; son, John A. Russell and wife Nancy; daughter, Evelyn S. Stephens and husband Russell Thomas; seven grandchildren, David Russell of Charleston, W.Va., Ronald Sams and wife Lisa of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Aimee Beth Russell of Marietta, OH, Christopher Russell and wife Jaimie of Morgantown, W.Va., Samuel Sams and wife Kristi of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Scott Gossert and wife Yang of Sterling, VA, and Jason Stephens and wife Sonya of Belleville, W.Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Grossclose, Amber Russell, Kyle Sams, Drew Sams, Paige Sams, Alec Russell, Edan Russell, Adam Sams, and Benjamin Gossert; and also surviving is his special 'buddy', Charlotte Deem.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Amy Rose Burrows Russell; one brother, Beryl Russell; and four sisters, Virginia Browning, Sara Pickens, Georgia Robinson, and Jean Carr.

He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum with fifteen years of service and was a member of the Union Steelworkers Union Local 5668.

He was also a member of the South Parkersburg United Methodist Church.

He was drafted during high school into the Infantry of the United States Army in 1945, transferred to the United States Army Air Corp in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1947.

He received his West Virginia State High School Equivalent Diploma through the Armed Forces. On January 23, 2001, he was very proud to receive his high school diploma for Parkersburg High School at a Wood County Board of Education through the West Virginia Veterans Affairs Office 'Operation Recognition' program for WWII veterans.

John R. (Bob) was a machinist by trade and had been employed by the Acme Fishing Tool Company, Amax Specialty Metals Company, Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel in Columbia, SC, Riverton Lime Company in Riverton, VA, O. Ames Company, Carl E. Smith Pipeline Construction Company of Sandyville, WV, and retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV, in 1998.

He was a member of the Wood County Flywheelers Association Club and enjoyed traveling to engine shows in Portland, IN, and Sistersville, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8PM on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday April 28, 2010, at the funeral home.

Bessie Waggoner Hawkins

Bessie Waggoner Hawkins

After 99 years a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and 'Grandma Bessie' has earned her rest. She was a kind, gentle, helpful person, always active and fun, who will be missed very much by her loving family. Bessie passed away Friday April 23, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Vienna W.Va. She was born in Iris, W.Va. a daughter of the late Robert Clark and Artie Bush Waggoner.

She was a homemaker, lived for many years in Pennsboro, W.Va. prior to moving to Vienna, W.Va, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna and was also an active member of the Pennsboro United Methodist Church for many years; member of Eastern Star in Pennsboro for more than 50 years, where she was Secretary-Treasurer for many years. She was always active with all of the activities of her children; sports, music, school, camping, Boy Scouts and other organizations and was an avid scrapbooker.

She is survived by two children Joe C. Hawkins Sr. and his wife Joann Hawkins of Katy, TX and Mary K Hanlon and her husband Lewis W. Hanlon of Vienna W.Va.; grandchildren Michael, Terry and Diane Hanlon, Pamela and Rachael Hawkins; great-grandchildren Jana, Jesse, Shane, Amanda, Christopher, Valerie, David, Chris, Lauren, Annie Kate and Clark; great-great-grandchildren Hayden, Tanner, Brianna, Jonah, Landon, Elliana and another one due in May, Aria Kathryn.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alpha E. Hawkins; one brother Kenneth Waggoner, grandsons Joey and Steve and great-granddaughter Michelle.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday April 26, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave Vienna W.Va. with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Bryan officiating. Dorothy "Beulah" Fluharty

Dorothy 'Beulah' Fluharty, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born December 5, 1922 in Wirt County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Hammond N. and Iva Jenkins Dennis.

Beulah was a member of the Camden Temple Church. She retired as a child care provider. She loved singing Gospel Music and working with her flowers. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Dennis Paul Fluharty and wife, Betty of Parkersburg; two daughters, Connie Sue Emrick and husband, Keith of Parkersburg and Carolyn Ray Eakle and husband, Bill of Belpre, Ohio; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Warren Fluharty; and one brother, Denver Dennis.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastors Dean Ash and Randy Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, at the funeral home.

Doris G. Crislip

Doris G. Crislip, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away April 21, 2010, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born August 9, 1935, in Berlin, Germany, a daughter of the late Karl and Gertrude Gross Strampfer.

Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, gardening and especially enjoyed knitting.

Surviving is her loving husband, Roger D. Crislip, whom she married May 3, 1963; two daughters, Christine Crislip and Stephanie Hardman, both of Parkersburg; one son, Steven Crislip of Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers, Armin and Jorg Strampfer, both of Germany; three grandchildren, Cade, Piper and Brandon; and two step-grandchildren, Justin and Jeremy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, April 23, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg.

Paul L. Robinson

Paul L. Robinson, 83, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 29, 1927, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Alpha Arlie and Helen Elizabeth Penn Robinson.

He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg.

Surviving are three daughters, Roxann Robinson and Elizabeth Rader (Ronnie) both of Gassaway, W.Va., and Jane Inghram of Parkersburg; one son, Paul L. Robinson of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Jeremy Rader of Gassaway and Drew Inghram of Vienna, W.Va.; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Inghram of Vienna; one sister, Nancy Dulaney of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olive Bell Lewis Robinson; and two brothers.

There will be no visitation or services.

Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, 400 Green St., Parkersburg will be handling arrangements.

George N. Smith

George N. Smith, 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on April 21, 2010 at his residence.

He was born May 8, 1933, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas E. and Della Pratt Smith.

George was a Korean War veteran having served with the National Guard. He retired after 32 years of service with O'Ames Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belpre, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Smith; one daughter, Tami M. (Wayne) Beverly of Davisville, W.Va.; one son, Thomas B. (Deborah) Smith of Gilmer County, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Craig Beverly of Davisville, Nicole (Keith) Moyers of Gilmer County, Victoria L. (Jacob) Dennison of Braxton County, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Rileigh Dennison and Kaelynn Moyers: and one great-granddaughter on- the-way, Kileigh Dennison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dennis and William Smith; and one infant brother, Thomas Smith.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor David Nutt and Pastor Paul Knierim officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, at the funeral home.

Lewis D. Burdine

Lewis D. Burdine, 81, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed on to Heaven Sunday April 18, 2010 at the Heartland of Marietta, Ohio.

He was born in Smithfield, Wetzel County, W.Va., a son of the late Lewis F. and Lovie May Haught Burdine.

Lewis had been an ironworker since 1958 and was retired from Local Union 549, Wheeling, W.Va.; served in the U.S. Army; was a member of American Legion Post 159, Williamstown and Vienna VFW; was an avid golfer; and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He was a Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lou Allen Burdine; children, Shirley Bays (Michael) of Miami, Fla., Charles Burdine (Linda) of Loganville, Ga., Maura Birney (Nelson) of Cadiz, Ohio, Robert Burdine (Lisa) of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Tara Hale of Shacklefords, Va., Kathy Haley of Middleport, Ohio, Paula Copenhaver of Williamstown, W.Va. and Cheryl Byers (Brian) of Waverly, W.Va. ; one sister, Gladys Vinson of Elyria, Ohio; one brother, Norval Burdine (Lucille) of Shinnston, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Chuck Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown with Military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorotha E. Siegrist Davis Pritchard

Dorotha Pritchard, 93, formally of Parkersburg, West Virginia, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls, PA. She was born on January 5, 1917 in Mason County, WV. Her parents were the late George Siegrist and Millie Sayre Siegrist.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1934. She worked in the personnel office of Corning Glass Works and for the Public Debt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clarence A. Davis of Elizabeth in 1956, her second husband, Howard C. Pritchard, Sr. of West Union in 1997 and her daughter, Melinda Patterson of Vienna in 2005.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Paul Patterson of Vienna and her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Maurice Prendergast of Beaver, PA. Also, surviving are three grandchildren, Emily, Eric and Sarah Prendergast.

She was a kind, patient and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included traveling, crossword puzzles, embroidery, gardening and baking. She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held 11am on Tuesday April 20, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave Vienna with Rev. Dr. Patrick Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from6-8 at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
