Geraldine Marie Bryant
Geraldine Marie Bryant, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born June 14, 1941 in Flatwoods, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Martha Blankenship Kniceley. On May 14, 1959 she married Howard Bryant who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Peggy Judson and husband John of Cochran, GA, Helen Whitcomb and husband Carl of Lancaster, SC, Donna Knight of York, SC and Janet Bryant of Buckhannon; five sons, Joe Bryant and wife Angela, Mitchell Bryant and wife Robin and Robert Bryant all of Monroe, NC, Donald Bryant of Jane Lew, WV and Scottie Bryant and wife Rebekah of Weston, WV; two sisters, Mildred McCoy of Buckhannon and Betty Williams of Jane Lew; four brothers, Ralph and James Knicly both of Buckhannon, Charles Knicly of Jane Lew, WV and Olney Knicly of Lexington, OH and eleven grandchildren. Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and attended Nays Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Langevin officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty June Bailey
Betty June Bailey, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, May 21, 2010 at St. Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born December 29, 1925 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Oma Cochran Strader. On November 10, 1949 she married Calvin A. Bailey who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Connie Gregory and husband Larry of Buckhannon; one grandson, Shawn Hanifan and wife Ris of Buckhannon; one sister, Patty Stalnaker and husband Forrest of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Chapter # 18 Order Eastern Star and the Upshur County Shrine Aux. Friends will be received Monday, May 24, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Shreve officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dailey Ankney Blank
Dailey Ankney Blank, age 84, of Rock Cave, WV died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born February 26, 1926 in Prestonsburg, KY, a daughter of the late James and Rhoda Shephard. On May 3, 1946 she married Paul Ankney, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 20, 1976. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Ankney, Jr. and Daniel Ankney; three brothers, Floyd, Thomas and Diamond Shephard and one son in law, Chris Rutter. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Rutter of Rock Cave; one son, Clayton Ankney, Sr. and wife Judy of Elkins, WV; two sisters, Darcus Wynn and Mazel Miley both of Mansfield, OH; three brothers, William Shephard and wife Juanita, Riley Shephard and Dial Shephard and wife Betty all of Mansfield and nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Blank was a homemaker and a Pentecostal by faith. Friends will be received Monday, July 19, 2010 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Ridge Church Cemetery in Rock Cave. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruth Plaisted Baker
Ruth Plaisted Baker, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Elkins Regional Convalescent Center in Elkins, WV. She was born August 28, 1921 in Sunapee, NH a daughter of the late Dora V. Reed Plaisted. On August 15, 1942 she married Nicholas Baker who preceded her in death on September 16, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one half brother, Preston Reed and one half sister, Ruby Shaw. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Porter and husband Dennis of Buckhannon; one son, Peter M. Baker of Southington, CT; three granddaughters, Kristen Porter of High Point, NC, Lara Porter of Monaca, PA and Heather Porter of Columbia, SC; two brothers in law, Mitchell Baker and wife Ruth of Toms River, NJ and Ed Provost of Claremont, NH. Mrs. Baker was a Secretary. She was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, loved playing the piano, baking, handcrafts especially quilting, traveling and time with her granddaughters. Private family services and burial will be in Claremont, NH. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Judith Ann Bennett
Judith Ann Bennett, age 61, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, August 5, 2010 at St. Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born May 7, 1949 at Horner, WV, daughter of the late Floyd and Zeta Shoulders Lantz. On June 29, 1973 she married Marty Bennett who preceded her in death on January 2, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Bean, Helen Stalnaker and Alice Lantz. She is survived by one son, Russell Martin Bennett and wife Bobby Jo of Buckhannon; four sisters, Freda Nardella and husband Jack of Clarksburg, WV, Pamela Campbell of Horner, WV, Vicki Sharp and husband Kevin of Buckhannon and Debbie Lantz of Inwood, WV; two brothers, Samuel Lantz and wife Judy of Buckhannon Run Road and Russell Lantz and wife Lena of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bennett was a former employee of Rescare. She was an avid supporter of St. Judes Childrens Hospital. She enjoyed camping, four-wheeling and working in her gardens. But her biggest enjoyment came while spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Bennett was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery in Horner, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary Blanche Hinkle Bailey
Mary Blanche went to be with her Lord on August 25th, 2010 at 12:15 AM after a short illness. She was residing at Sweet Briar Assisted Living in Dunbar, WV. Mary Blanche was the daughter of the late W.O. and Alpha Smith Hinkle of Buckhannon. She was born on March 23, 1924, preceded in death by her sister Maxine Hinkle Clark of Ashtabula, OH and survived by her sister Charlotte Joan Hinkle of Dunbar, WV. Mary was married for 55 years to her high school sweetheart, the late Carleton R. Bailey. Surviving are two sons, Gary and wife Percilla of Eleanor, WV, Phillip and Cynthia of Newton, NJ and a daughter Carol Hoernle and husband Erich of Lafayette, NJ as well as four grandchildren, Aaron, Travis, Ryan and Monica and two great-grandchildren, Turner Bailey of Milton, WV son of Travis and Bonnie Bailey and Jocelyn Bailey of Andover, NJ daughter of Ryan Bailey and Kara Post. Mary is a member of the First Baptist Church in Buckhannon and for fifteen years prior was a member the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale, NJ. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 7 Auxiliary of Buckhannon, County Extension Homemakers Club and the Elizabeth Zane Chapter of the WV Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary was a welder (Rosie Riveter) in the Camden Ship Yards of Baltimore during WWII along with her husband Carleton who later entered the Air Force and flew in B-17s as a ball turret gunner. Mary, during her 86 years of life was an active community member and helped in such ways as Den Mother in Cub Scouts. She was also a Home Room mother at Mound School in Dunbar, WV and PTA mother that helped conduct school fundraisers. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 11 AM until 2 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Cyril Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Memory of Mary. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorris Junior Bonner
Dorris Junior Bonner, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his home in Buckhannon. He was born September 5, 1942 in Buckhannon a son of the late Charles Morgan and Lola Dove Wilfong Bonner. Mr. Bonner is survived by three daughters, Frankie Bonner Chewning of Buckhannon; Melissa Thompson and husband Lewis of Virginia and Sabrina Mathes and husband Mike of Rock Cave, WV, four sons, Kenneth Bonner and wife Cathy of French Creek, WV, Donnie Bonner and wife Debbie of Adrian, WV, Lonnie Bonner of Adrian and Joseph Bonner and wife Janet of Frenchton, WV; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild two brothers, Darrell Bonner and wife Marie of Buckhanonn, William Bonner and wife Steffie of Middleburg, Fl; one sister, Helen Mullens of Zanesville, OH; companion and caregiver Trudy Crislip of Buckhannon, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Lola Norman and Janice Campbell and one granddaughter, Nikita Bonner. Mr. Bonner was a security guard for the prison system and attended the New Life Tabernacle Church. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 12-1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Bonner officiating. Burial will follow at the Bailey Cemetery. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys G. Bond
Gladys G. Bond, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her home. She was born April 2, 1918 at Knawls Creek, WV a daughter of the late Robert L. and Nona D. Taylor Cayton. On February 21, 1943 she married Benjamin H. Bond who preceded her in death on February 8, 1998. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Wayne, Warren and infant brother Robert Cayton; one infant sister, Evelyn Cayton and a son-in-law, Charles W. Casto. She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia G. Casto of Buckhannon and Sharon K. Ours and husband Robert of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Melissa K. Stone and husband Mark; two great granddaughters, Diane and Angie Stone; one great great grandson, Landon Stone; one step granddaughter, Suzanne; one step grandson, Bobby; two step great granddaughters, Shanli and Shayla; and one sister, Sadie P. Lesure of Lodi, OH. Gladys attended Glenville State Teachers College and graduated from WVWC. She taught school in a one room schoolhouse at Lorentz, WV and Swamp Run, WV and retired from WV DHHR as a Social Worker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dora Maxine Bailey
Dora Maxine Bailey, 82, of Pinch, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010, at Thomas Memorial Hospital. She was born October 26, 1927, in Buckhannon, daughter of the late Everett and Virgie Smith. In 1945 she married Harold Burton Bailey who preceded her in death in 1987. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Charles Marsh, and granddaughter, Denise Lawrence. Dora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and flea marketing. She and her husband operated a restaurant and dance hall in Buckhannon, but most of all she loved being with her family. Dora was known and loved by so many who simply knew her as Granny. She is survived by her sister, Delena Smith of Buckhannon; daughters Judith Peck of South Charleston, Ponda Kryzak and her husband Kenny, of Charleston; son, Toby Bailey and companion, Susie Stevens of Pinch; seven grandchildren, Melissa Kryzak, Samantha Kryzak, Raymond Kryzak, Christy McQuerry, April Hall, Eddie Peck and MaKayla Bailey; nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth McQuerry, Constance McQuerry, Daniel McQuerry, Kellie Hayes, Davey Hayes, Cody Hall, Chance Peck, Christian Salisbury, and Joey Pennington. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon, with the Reverend Donald Butcher officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff on the 4th floor of Thomas Memorial Hospital, and all her doctors, friends and neighbors that assisted in her care.

Della Virginia Bickel Brown
Della Virginia Bickel Brown, age 71, of Rock Cave, WV died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 21, 1939 in Ten Mile, WV, a daughter of the late Henry C. and Rosella Payne Talbott. She is survived by her 2nd husband, Oliver D. Brown of Rock Cave; two sons, David W. Bickel and wife Linda of Huttonsville, WV and Clyde C. Bickel and wife Edith of Rock Cave; one granddaughter, Sarah Darnall and husband John of Buckhannon; three grandsons, David W. Bickel, II and wife Jennifer of Rock Cave, Michael C. Bickel and fianc Amy Saunders of Buckhannon and Christopher B. Bickel of Clarksburg, WV; four step daughters; two step sons; three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Maurice W. Bickel; two brothers, Oran and Doy Talbott and one sister, Opal Rash. Mrs. Brown was a Nurses Aide for St. Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon and a member of the Canaan Community Church. Friends will be received Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 69 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rock Cave. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Daniel Wayne Beckner
Daniel Wayne Beckner, age 56, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV following an unforeseen illness. He was born February 17, 1954 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Charles Samuel and Reva Mae Robinson Beckner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Beckner, Betty Riffle and Karen Nethken; and four brothers, Leonard, William and Richard Beckner and one infant brother. He is survived by two daughters, Dana Adkins and husband Don and DeeAnn Pulliam and husband Chad all of Buckhannon; a nephew like a son, Tony Durant of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Nicholas Zickefoose, Brant Mullins and Keegan Adkins all of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Chelsey Isner, Kara Zickefoose and Arianna Pulliam all of Buckhannon; six sisters, Hazel Witley and Sherry Posey and husband Jerry all of Painesville, OH, Connie Canter of Volga, WV, Nancy Durant and Linda Mealy both of Buckhannon and Rita Buss of Martinsburg, WV; two brothers, David and James Beckner both of Buckhannon; beloved dog, Buddy and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Beckner worked at Feolas Flowers for 15 years and was a beloved employee of Wal-Mart. Friends will be received Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. Betty Ann Morrison Barker
Betty Ann Morrison Barker, age 62, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born July 15, 1948 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Forman Andrew and Margaret Irene Brown Morrison. On September 1, 2001 she married Scott Barker who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Benjamin Turner Queen, II and wife Lara of Pittsburgh, PA, Bruce Timothy Queen and Darryl Watanabe of Falls Church, VA, Douglas Terence Queen and wife Melissa of Donalds, SC and Matthew Travis Queen and girlfriend Wendy Waggoner of Buckhannon; one daughter, Nichole Ann Frazier and husband Steven of Mt. Claire, WV; two step daughters, Rebecca McDaniels and husband Matthew of Inman, SC and Heather Pitzer and husband Rich of Clarksburg, WV; grandchildren, Turner, Zach, Andy, Stevie, Sophie, Shelby, Brody and Gabby; two brothers, Johnny A. and Forman Ray Morrison both of Buckhannon; six sisters, Sylvia Rowan and husband Steven, Karen Zorik and husband John, Joyce Carpenter and husband David, Vera and Margaret Bennett all of Buckhannon and Helen Curkendall of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Linda Thompson of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Buck and Gary Smarr. Mrs. Barker was an Administrative Assistant at Toothman and Rice and a member of the Reger United Methodist Church. She was a Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be sadly missed by her family, friends and co-workers. Friends will be received Monday, November 8, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow the Reger Cemetery at Teter, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
