Sharon Kay Shreve Campbell
Sharon Kay Shreve Campbell, age 50 of Weston, WV died Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born August 29, 1960 in Buckhannon, WV a daughter of Betty Harris Shreve of Buckhannon and the late Kenneth Stafford Shreve. On February 9, 1983 she married Larry Campbell who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Shawna Rena Moff and Perry of Alliance, OH and Alicia Ann Campbell and Eddie Lewis of Akron, OH; one son Richard Mealey and Katie of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Katie Moff of Alliance, Savana Lewis of Akron, Coralee and Kenzie Mealey both of Buckhannon and Roxanne Radcliff and husband Phillip of Weston; six grandsons, Derrick Moff of Alliance, Kenneth Campbell and Vincent Lewis both of Akron, Mike, Chris and Garth Moff all of Edinburg, OH; one brother, Kyle Dean of VA; three sisters Peggy McCowan of VA, Patti Edwards of Buckhannon and Penny Dessoffy of Ravenna, OH; special niece, Nicola Strother of Beloit, OH; special mother in law and father in law, Ruth and Martin Campbell of Buckhannon; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many friends. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Forest Lewis Shreve and two brothers, Steven Dean and Douglas Strother. Mrs. Campbell was a manager for Circle K convenience store having worked with the company for 17 years. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Kesling Cemetery in Kesling Mill, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Jean Carpenter
Alice Jean Carpenter, age 77, of the Tallmansville Rd. in Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, December 02, 2010 at the home of her daughter in the Excelsior Community. She was born on May 5, 1933 in Crawford, WV a daughter of the late Bernard Wilson and Mary Marie Lane Claypool. On February 24, 1951 she married Olen Lawson Carpenter who preceded her in death on July 15, 2010. She is survived by one son, Manus W. Carpenter and wife Roxanna of Tallmansville Rd.; one daughter Jewell Cutright and husband John R. of Excelsior Community; three granddaughters, Heather Goodwin of Weston, WV, Jennifer Bickel of Salem Ridge, WV and Jessica Carpenter of Tallmansville Rd.; three grandsons, Dustin Davis and Brian Carpenter both of Tallmansville Rd, and Craig Zirkle of Buckhannon; one step grandson, Gerald Zirkle of Abbott, WV; three great grandsons, Alex Goodwin of Weston, Thoryn and Titan Davis both of Tallmansville, Rd.; one great granddaughter, Brooklynn Sessions of Weston and two sisters, Mary Frances DeBarr of Parkersburg and Pauline Irene Forinash of MI. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Loyal Wilson Claypool, Charles Glen Claypool, Sr. and Junior Harrison Claypool. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker, a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church and the Rebekah lodge. Friends will be received Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday at the Church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dana Marlin (Rohrbough) Carr
Dana Marlin (Rohrbough) Carr, age 44, of Fenwick, WV died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at his home. He was born February 27, 1966 in N. Miami Beach, FL, a son of Robert Madison and Sharon Godwin Carr of Buckhannon, WV. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by one daughter, Sierra Brooke Carr of Craigsville, WV; two brothers, Kenneth Carr and wife Eden of Ellenville, NY and Robert Carr of Harman, WV; two sisters, Patricia Talbott of Buckhannon and Trisha Citrone and husband Gene of Cranberry Township, PA; maternal grandparents, Rev. Dr. Charles Godwin and wife Wilda of Buckhannon; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Dana was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Madison Carr and wife Virginia. He was a coal miner. Friends will be received Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. He will lie in state Friday from 10 11 AM the funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery at Excelsior, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Ann Cole
Hazel Ann Cole, age 90, of Galion, Ohio died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Galion Pointe Nursing Home in Galion. She was born May 20, 1920 in Upshur County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Perry Hoover and Luella (Clingman) Hoover Mc Cann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cole; four daughters, Coleretta Buchanan, Betty Wingfield, Mazie Cole and Annetta Cole; two sons, Ronnie and Terry Cole; four brothers, Charlie, Acie, Liege and Oscar and four sisters, Edith, Eunice, Goldie and Violet. She is survived by two daughters; Roberta Futrell of Galion, Ohio and Wilma Cobb of Crestline, Ohio; three sons, John Cole and wife Marlene of Buckhannon and Jim and Bill Cole both of Mansfield, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 12-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Darell Lee Crites
Darell Lee Crites, age 83, of Inwood, WV died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at his home. He was born June 15, 1927 in Gould, WV, a son of the late Raymond and Ruth Lee Lewis Crites. On June 18, 1949 he married Betty Jo Blake who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda Joyce (Crites) Mohile and husband David of Leesburg, VA and Myra Kay (Crites) Roberts and husband Richard Rick of Inwood; one grandson, Patrick Lee Mohile and companion Pam of Edgewater, FL; one granddaughter, Crystal Leigh (Roberts) Zacharias and husband Larry of Inwood; one great-grandson, Austin Cory Zacharias of Inwood; two great-granddaughters, Allyson Michelle Zacharias of Inwood and Emily Rae Ashton of Sterling, VA; one brother, Carroll Crites of Buckhannon and sisters, Ruth Mildred Tenney and husband Charles of Virginia Beach, VA and Patty Jean Mayo and husband Robert of Williamstown, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Cory Raymond Roberts. Mr. Crites was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of the Beech Mountain Sportsmans Club. He worked for the Dept. Of Defense and CIA. He was an avid gardening, hunter and outdoorsman. Friends will be received Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Bend Church Cemetery at Sago, WV. Dale H. Conner
Dale H. Conner, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home. He was born September 29, 1920 in Pickens, WV, a son of the late Bruce W. and Alma Shock Conner. On August 1, 2009 he married Letta Gray Westfall who survives. Also, surviving are four step daughters, Joan Hymes Cramer of Silver Spring, MD, Karla Cayton and husband William L. of Fayetteville, WV, Sherri Page and husband Richard of Buckhannon and Joyce Cross of Philippi, WV; one step son, Daniel Gregory and wife Dawnna of Buckhannon; one brother, Howard Conner and wife Sue of Shelbyville, TN; one sister, Mildred Carpenter and husband Doyle of Belington, WV; step grandchildren, Dr. Selena Lantry and husband Kevin of Glendale, CA, Joni Lynn Cramer of Germantown, MD, Agatha Oliverio and husband Ralph of Loa Linda, CA and Milva McCallam of Brookville, MD; six grandchildren by his second marriage and seven step great-grandchildren and his church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Viola H. Conner; two brothers, Carl and Kyle Conner and one sister, Jessie Elmer. Mr. Conner was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church which he loved and was very active. He helped raise the money for the new Adventist Church, Book and Bible House manager for WV and Potomac Conferences. Friends will be received Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 7-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating. Burial will follow beside his 1st wife, of 59 years in the Talbott Cemetery in Talbott, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Myrna Jo Cowgar
Myrna Jo Cowgar, age 62, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her home under Peoples Hospice of Clarksburg, WV. She was born in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph Albert and Elanor Dodd Himes. On May 3, 1969 she married Gary C. Cowgar who survives. Also surviving is her stepmother, Patricia Snider Himes of West Milford, WV; one son, Gary Lynn Cowgar of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Aliyah Cowgar of Ortonville, MI and two grandsons, Logan Cowgar of Ortonville and Justin Cowgar of Steubenville, OH. Mrs. Cowgar was a beautician and secretary. She was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and attended the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Beryl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lois Cutright
Lois Cutright, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011 surrounded by her loving husband, daughter and son-in-law. She was born July 9, 1938 to the late William Stanton and Mary Viola Payne Mundy. She is survived by her soul mate, best friend and husband, Clyde E. Cutright whom she married September 7, 1956. Also surviving is one daughter, Sheliy Bennett and husband Jeffery; five grandchildren, Edward, Megyn, Joseph, Kameron and Ethan and one great grandson, Wyatt; several step-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Keller; one brother, William L. Mundy and wife Edna Mae; two sisters-in-law Marg Mundy and Willivene Fitzgerald and husband Don along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Clem LaValle and one brother, John E. Mundy. Lois was an active member of North Buckhannon United Methodist Church for many years. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be missed deeply. Friends will be received 6-9 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecelia Marie Curry
Cecelia Marie Curry, age 76, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at her home under the care of Peoples Hospice. She was born February 12, 1935 in Buckhannon a daughter of the late Celia and Thyssia Zickefoose Brown. On May 12, 1956 she married Coleman Curry who survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Jan Pouzenc and husband George of Front Royal, VA; two sons, David Curry and companion Beni Bender and Michael Curry and wife Barbara all of Buckhannon; one grandson, Brandon Curry of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth West, Etta Merle Crumrine and Helen Crumrine. Mrs. Curry was an operator for the Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. and a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Friends will be received 6-8 PM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

David Ingram Cummings
David Ingram Cummings, 73, of Buckhannon, passed away at his home on June 10, 2011. Dave was born February 14, 1938 in Buckhannon, WV, son of the late Harlan S. Cummings and Eleanor Reppert Cummings. He is survived by one daughter Ann Cummings Wolff and husband Jeff of Baltimore, MD; two granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Wolff and Tilli Rose Wolff; cousin John Reppert and wife Mary of St. Albans, WV and dear friend, Pam Martin of Buckhannon, WV. Dave graduated from WVU in 1962 with a degree in Recreation and Parks. He then served in Korea for the US Army 1963-1965. Relocated to Baltimore, MD and worked for Baltimore County Recreation & Parks. Following retirement Dave returned to his home in Buckhannon. Dave enjoyed life to its fullest. He was a very proud father and grandfather cherishing time with family and friends. An avid sports fan he loved his Ravens & Orioles and Mountaineer football and basketball. Yes, he did bleed blue & gold, always to be found tailgating beneath the BU flag in the blue lot. Dave treasured his summer vacations to Nags Head, NC and visits to Grey Rocks. He spent his free time working in his gardens, reading suspense novels and watching various sports. He was especially proud of his home and enjoyed relaxing on his back porch with his pets reading the newspaper. He truly loved life in Buckhannon. Honoring Daves wishes, his body will be cremated and a celebration of Daves life is planned for September 17, 2011 at his home to coincide with the telecast of the WVU @ MD football game. In lieu of flowers, Dave would like donations made to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil E. Chipps
Cecil E. Chipps, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center of Clarksburg, WV. He was born June 10, 1926 in Sutton, WV, a son of the late Belle Bickel Chipps. On October 27, 1957 he married Helen Marie Ward who preceded him in death on September 17, 2006. In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Beulah Belle, Mona Hamrick, Maze Moore, Ursel Newport and Ruby Root and two brothers, Paul and Joseph Chipps. He is survived by one son, David Chipps and wife Cathy of Buckhannon; one daughter, Debbie Sharpiro of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Kim Chipps of Lansing, MI, Kari Park and husband Joe of Charleston, WV and Brittany Shapiro of Buckhannon and one grandson, Chris Chipps of Buckhannon. Mr. Chipps was a Postal Worker for United States Postal Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Buckhannon- Upshur High School Athletic Hall of Fame, a lifetime member of the Football Boosters Foundation and a member of the Monon Valley Beagle Club of Clarksburg. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and enjoyed his mornings at Hardees with his friends. Friends will be received Monday, July 18, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10 AM Tuesday at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Godwin officiating. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cody S. Carr
Cody Shane Carr, age 18 of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home. He was born November 3, 1992 in Weston, WV a son of Walter Glenn and Virginia Rosie Harris Carr. In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother, Phillip Carr and wife Eva, niece, Mackenzie Carr; two nephews, Riley and Landon Carr all of Buckhannon; aunts and uncles, Bryan and Brenda Harris, Carrol and Lois Harris, Roy and Sharon Carr and Keith and Judy Carr all of Buckhannon, Robert and Linda Carr of Harrisonburg, VA, Gene and Naomi Carr of Parkersburg and Dorothy McCormick of Roanoke, VA and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Mary Ellen Carr and Maternal grandparents Ray and Frances Harris. Cody was a graduate of the WV Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy, enjoyed hunting and fishing and worked as a floor hand. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6 to 9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with Youth Pastor David Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kesling Cemetery at Kesling Mill, WV. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral cost. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
