Angel Faith Davis
Angel Faith Davis, newborn daughter of Robert and Kristi Parks Davis of Bridgeport, WV, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Alexander Davis of Bridgeport; paternal grandmother, Judith Davis of Simpsonville, SC; paternal grandfather, Robert Davis and wife Kathy of Port Saint Lucie, FL; maternal grandmother, Carol Parks of Buckhannon, WV; and maternal grandfather, Pete Parks and wife Bea of Buckhannon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM on Monday, March 28, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport with Father Harry Cramer as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Beechtown Cemetery in Frenchton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Glenn Thomas "Tom' Dye
Glenn Thomas "Tom" Dye, 79, died Friday, Dec. 17 at his home in Bushland, Texas. He had lived in Tallahassee, Fla. and in West Virginia for most of his life. Tom was born May 11, 1931 in Frenchton, W.Va. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1950, became a sergeant shortly afterward and continued his tour of duty until 1953. He fought in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart after being critically wounded in battle. In 1957, he graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics from West Virginia Wesleyan College. He was a member of the Masons. During his career, Tom was an investigator with the U.S. Civil Service Commission (later renamed the Office of Personnel Management). He retired in 1986 after 30 years of service. Tom enjoyed RV travel/camping, reading, fishing, deer hunting and tinkering in his garage. He could make, build or repair almost anything. He loved his family, and he loved life. Preceding Tom in death were his first wife and the mother of his children, Betty Jean Ours Dye; his second wife, Betty Lee Hyre Dye; his parents, Fleda Watson Dye and James Glenn Dye; and his brother, John Durward Dye. Cherishing Tom's life and love are his daughter, Suellen Dye Wilkins and her husband, Randy; son, James Thomas Dye and his wife, Lisa; three grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Dye, Benjamin Hal Wilkins and Brooke Ellen Wilkins; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, W.Va. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project online at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Caroldeen Belle Dean
Caroldeen Belle Dean, age 80, a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Belington, WV, departed this life July 2, 2011. She had been in declining health. Caroldeen was born July 15, 1930 in Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Jay and Mildred Thornhill Chenoweth. On November 11, 1947 she married Howard D. Dean who preceded her in death on March 21, 2006. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Shirley J. Jeannie Gainer. She is survived by one son, Howard J. Buddy Dean of Buckhannon; three daughters, Sherry L. Powers and husband Gary, Shelia A. Barkley and husband Chuck and Sandra K. LaRosa and husband Virgil all of Buckhannon; nine grandchildren, Aaron Gainer, David Powers, Michael Barkley, Leslie Houghton, Allison LaRosa, Patrick LaRosa, Howie Dean, Joshua Dean, and Shania Lewis; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Deans request for cremation was honored. In her memory a private gathering of family will be conducted at a later date. The family expresses their gratitude to the Good Samaritan Society of Belington and Mountain Hospice of Belington for their loving care and kindness given to Mrs. Dean and her family. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Colton Douglas Dean
Colton Douglas Dean, age 11, of Mt. Nebo Community, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was born June 9, 2000 in Buckhannon, a son of Douglas M. and Lori L. Sanders Dean of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Samantha Dean of Buckhannon; maternal grandparents, Gary F. and Coda L. Sanders of Buckhannon; paternal grandmother, L. Darlene Dean of Buckhannon; aunts and uncles, Dexter and Lisa Bever; Tim Sanders and girlfriend Kay Brown and Darren and Shirley Dean all of Buckhannon; cousins, Lindsay, Nick and Emily Bever, Karl and Erika Kolenich and Iris Kolenich all of Buckhannon, several extended family members; special dog, Shiloh and two cats Fidgy and Peppy. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Ralph M. Dean. Colton was a student at Union Elementary School and a member of the Way of Holiness Church. He was an honorary Jr. Fireman for the Ellamore Fire Department and was in the Kindness Club at Union Elementary. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, fishing, Pokemon and DS games. Friends will be received Thursday August 18, 2011 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM at the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kesling Cemetery in Kesling Mill, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard O. Davis
Richard O. Davis, 75 of Casey Key, Florida and Buckhannon, formerly of Malvern, PA. died in an accident Friday, August 26. He was the beloved husband of Constance Hake Davis for 52 years. He was a generous man whose greatest joy was his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Heather Davis Thomas, West Chester, PA; Glenn Richardson Davis and wife, Kimberly Farry of Buckhannon; Alexandra Davis Kolodziej and husband Joseph of Bridgeport and five grandchildren: Andrew and Lindsey Thomas, Dakota Richard Davis, and Jacob and John Kolodziej. He is also survived by a brother, Gary Davis and wife Nancy of Vestal, New York and nephews Steven and Scott Davis and niece Allison Griffin of Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and received a commission in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1958. He served as a technical operations research officer at Ft. Belvoir, Va. during the Cold War. He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration.degree at Drexel. He was a senior project manager for Frank W. Hake, Inc. and Noell-KRC Energy Technology (Babcock Noell GmbH) on major engineering and construction projects in the nuclear and international environmental and power generation industry. Always active in his community, he was a member of the Great Valley School Board in Malvern, serving three terms as president. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts After moving to Sarasota County, Florida, was a director, and then president, of the Casey Key Association. At the time of his death, he was a director of the Casey Key Foundation. He was also a member of the Upshur County CERT team. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Buckhannon Fire Company, the S.J.I. Sisters of Immaculate Conception Church, Clarksburg, for the orphanage in Gweru, Zimbabwe, or the Casey Key Foundation, P.O. Box 211, Nokomis, FL 34274-0211. Friends will be received Tuesday, August 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m.Wednesday at the funeral home by Father Casey Mahone of Immaculate Conception Parish, Clarksburg. A memorial service honoring his life will be held in Florida at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard Jonathan Dowell
Howard Jonathan Dowell, age 93 of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born September 22, 1918 in Buckhannon a son of the late William Lewis and Bessie Jane Corathers Dowell. On November 23, 1946 he married Geneva Rebecca Hinzman who preceded him in death on May 29, 1987. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers William Myers Page Chrisman, Robert James and Roy Keith Dowell; two sisters, Nora Virginia Smith and Dorothy Lee Sowder. Mr. Dowell is survived by one sister Laura Katherine Goldsmith and husband Jack of Greenwood, WV; two sister-in-law Mary Lou Dowell of Buckhannon and Evelyn Dowell and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dowell worked in the maintenance department for the Upshur Co. Board of Education. He was a life member of the Buckhannon VFW Post #3663 and the Buckhannon Moose Lodge #598. Friends will be received Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 and #36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Frederick Brian Daugherty
Frederick Brian Daugherty, age 51, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home under the care of St. Josephs Hospice. He was born August 24, 1960 in Brookville, PA, a son of John Daugherty Sr. of Buckhannon and the late Mary B. Himes Collins. On April 16, 1994 he married June Conley Daugherty who survives. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by one son, Kody Daugherty of Buckhannon; one step son, David Dewey of Weston, WV; two step daughters, Tiffany Alfred of Pittsburg, PA and Kelsey Merriman of Weston; four grandchildren; three brothers, John Daugherty, Jr., and wife Diane of Buckhannon; Vernon Daugherty and wife Sue Ellen of Buckhannon and Jim Daugherty and wife Kelly of Buckhannon; two sisters, Mary Biser and husband Ted of Lorentz, WV and Suz Daugherty of Weston; several nieces and nephews; one step brother, Dave Collins and wife Joyce of Weston; two step sisters, Loretta Jane Watson and husband Eric of GA and Dawn Workman of Buckhannon; step mother, June Daugherty of Buckhannon and adopted sister, Janan Hamilton of Beverly, WV. He began his work in the oil fields with Alamco followed by Columbia Gas and S.W. Jack and was currently working for Chesapeake Midstream. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his kids and grandkids. He was also a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clevie Davidson
Clevie Davidson, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born September 1, 1930 in Pickens, WV, a daughter of the late William E. and Cleva C. Wilson Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Carl, Dana, Arthur, Woodroe, Delbert and Vorse Davidson and three sisters, Glenna Davidson, Tressie and Anna Wilson. Clevie worked at the Senior Center with the meals on wheels program. She wrote a lot of poetry, some of which was published. She was a Sunday School Teacher at the Way Of Holiness Church for over 40 years. She had worked at Ames, F.W. Woolworth and Wal-Mart as a sales clerk. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Way Of Holiness Church. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pickens, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas B. Dunn
Thomas B. Dunn, age 69, of Naples, FL, died Tuesday April 24, 2012 at the Avow Hospice House in Naples. He was born January 22, 1943 in Washington, PA, a son of the late James Lincoln and Lucille Babbitt Dunn. On July 11, 1964 he married Carol Jean Campbell who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy Cunningham and husband Mark and Jennifer Fluke and husband Eric all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Carson Cunningham and Caroline Fluke both of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Grant Cunningham and Bryson Fluke both of Buckhannon; his precious Bichon, Lilly; one brother, Joseph L. Dunn of Washington, PA; one sister, Ann Bridges and husband Cliff of Greensboro, NC and several nieces and nephews. He was an exceptional leader and mentor to many in the community and oil & gas industry. Most of all, he was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family more than anything. He was respected and loved by many. Mr. Dunn graduated from Trinity High School, Washington, PA, Class of 1960 and West Virginia Wesleyan College with B.A. Degree, Class of 1964. He was the Third generation in the oil and gas business. In his early years he worked in the field for Union Drilling, Inc., a Drilling Contractor and Producer in the Appalachian Basin. After graduation from WVWC, he worked full-time at Union Drilling, Inc. in Buckhannon, as Lease and Right-of-Way Agent, eventually working into the supervision of well completion. He became President of Union Drilling, Inc. in 1972, and held the Position until 1987; founded D-Aspen, Inc. in 1986 and served as President from 1986-1996; founded Tuscany Gas, LLC in 1996 serves as member; co-founded Phoenix Diversified Ventures, Inc. in 1987 and served as President; co-founded Phoenix Energy Sales Company in 1995 and served as president; co-founded T & F Operating, Inc. in 1998 and serves as President; co-founded T & F Exploration, LP in 1998 and served as Limited Partner. He presently holds membership in: Independent Oil & Gas Association of WV (IOGA WV), Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association (PIOGA), Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), Ohio Oil & Gas Association (OOGA), West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association (WVONGA), Society of Petroleum Engineers, Inc. He served IOGA WV as Past President, as a member of the Board of Directors and a member of various committees. He served IPAA as Regional Governor, Director, Area Vice President, member of Executive Committee, and member of the Board of Governors, Roustabout Club Charter member. Served WVONGA as Past President, currently a member of the Board of Directors. Former Vice President of Virginia Oil & Gas Association; former member of New York State Oil Producers Association, Inc.; actively participated in other states associations. Served Appalachian Energy Group (AEG) as President for several Terms. Member of Board of Directors of St. Josephs Hospital Foundation. Former Member of the Board of Trustees of West Virginia Wesleyan College. Founding member of Naples National Golf Club and The Old Collier Golf Club both in Naples, FL. Involved in Buckhannon/Upshur County, WV civic organizations, including one of the five who arranged initial broad community funding for the current Upshur County Development Authority. Former member of the West Virginia National Guard. Member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity, Instrumental in the Buckhannon Parks & Recreational Complex. Recognition of service to the Industry by Oil & Gas Associations and service to the Community. West Virginia Oil & Gas Man of the Year, 1982. West Virginia Wesleyan College Alumni Award, 1982. Buckhannon Business & Professional Womens Club Outstanding Employer of the Year, 1985. One of the two initial recipients of IOGA WV Distinguished Service Gunslinger Award, 1992. Greeted President George W. Bush upon his arrival at Morgantown Municipal Airport, Morgantown, WV, July 4, 2005. Friends will be received Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 2-8 PM at the Wesley Chapel, West Virginia Wesleyan College. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday at the Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Shreve officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Robert Paul Davis
Robert Paul Davis, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. He was born March 8, 1944 in Elkins, WV, the son of the late Harold Bud and Retha Malcomb Davis. On September 13, 1980 he married M. Gail Suder, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Crystal I. Ballantyne of Elkins and Melissa Stickney Rada and husband Logan of Charleston, SC; four sons, Michael H. Davis and wife Shae of Elkins, Jamie L. Davis of Stow, OH, Eric Stickney of Oceanside, CA, Stacy Stickney of Fredericksburg, VA; two granddaughters, Megan L. Davis of Morgantown, WV and Hanna M. Davis of Elkins; three grandsons, Eric Chandler Stickney of Long Beach, CA, Cole Stickney of Oceanside, CA and Eli Davis Ballantyne of Elkins and one sister, Patti Ware and husband Darrell of Dailey, WV. Mr. Davis was a member of Horizons Church in Buckhannon. He was a proud WV coal miner for 40 years, earning several safety awards. He worked abroad in China for three years training Chinese coal miners in efficiency and safety. He treated his employees with respect and his influence is still felt today. He was a devoted father and husband. Friends will be received Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Hayhurst officiating. Cuba Douglas
Cuba J. Douglas, age 71, of Philippi, WV died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Valentine Assisted Living in Beverly, WV. She was born September 20, 1940 in Frankford, WV, a daughter of the late Havoline and Lucille Perkins Bell. On September 25, 1978 she married Andrew J. Douglas who survives. Also surviving are one brother, Toby Bell of Frankford; one sister, Janice K. Johnson of Frankford and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Douglas was a Methodist by faith. She was a member of the Buckhannon Chapter # 18 Order of Eastern Star and the Professional Business Womens Club of Buckhannon receiving several awards. Cuba loved the outdoors and traveling throughout the US and foreign countries which to mention a few are South America, Greece, the Caribbean, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand and others, New Zealand being her favorite. She enjoyed NASCAR and attended many races. Her favorite driver was Richard Petty. Her employment included the White Sulfur Springs Bank and two major oil and gas companies. In September 1984 she joined her husbands insurance firm which he founded in May 1981, Douglas Insurance Services, Inc. of Buckhannon. Her duties include Agent, Office Manager, Vice President and Secretary and Treasurer. Friends will be received Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Morningside Cemetery in Renick, WV. The Buckhannon Order of the Eastern Star Chapter# 18 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 PM Sunday July 8th at the funeral home. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John I. Dolan
John I. Dolan, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, November16, 2012 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born April 25, 1928 in Seth, WV, a son of the late Lauren and Pearl Behieler Dolan. He is survived by four daughters, Amanda Dolan of Clarksburg, Shelia Crickenberger of TN, Jennifer Dolan of TN and Mary Dolan of OH; two sons, Thomas Dolan of PA and Lawrence Dolan of AL; several grandchildren; one brother, Paul Dolan of Newell, WV; several nieces and nephews and a companion, Linda Reed of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Dolan; one daughter, Tammy Dolan and two brothers, Billy and Charles Dolan. Mr. Dolan was a diesel mechanic. He served in the Korea Conflict. Friends will be received 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home with Chaplain Anthony Herrington officiating. Burial will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV. VFW will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
