Sarah Lorena McMasters
Sarah Lorena McMasters, age 75, of French Creek, WV died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born June 18, 1932 in French Creek, a daughter of the late Tom and Ora Reynolds McQuain. On February 14, 1959 she married Benjamin H. Benny McMasters who preceded her in death on April 10, 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James McQuain. She is survived by one son, Robert H. McMasters of French Creek; one sister, Lucile Slaton and husband James of Boaz, AL; one brother, French McQuain and wife Betty of French Creek; one sister-in-law, Tootie McMasters of Youngstown, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Cave Baptist Church. Sarah Lorena will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her loving family and friends. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Jesse officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Erma Jordan
Erma Jordan, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 9, 1933 in Webster County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Gertie Ware Berry. On December 29, 1949 she married Mason Jordan who preceded her in death on September 4, 1968. She is survived by one son, Rick Jordan and wife Donna of Harrogate, TN; three daughters, Sandra Fisher and husband Danny of Hobbs, NM, Delma Hiner and husband Robert of Buckhannon and Jill Jordan of Leesburg, VA; four grandsons, Chad Clem of Buckhannon, Logan Clem of Leesburg, VA, Tony Fisher and wife of Texarkana, AR and Eric Hiner and wife Cathy of Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Melanie Stimeling and husband Travis of Morgantown, WV, Jenny Jordan of Buckhannon, Krista Sappey and husband Chris of Buckhannon and Amy Fisher of Hobbs, NM; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Laura Trudy Claypool and husband Raymond of Mt. Claire, WV. Mrs. Jordan was a former member of the Women of the Moose. She was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 8 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Cecil Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Replete, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jeffrey Dale Lawrence
Jeffrey Dale Lawrence met his Lord and Savior on February 25, 2013, at the age of 43. Jeff leaves his loving wife, Patricia. He was the proud father of Savannah, Sydney, Garrett, Ethan, Connor, and Chloe. Jeff also leaves parents Ronnie and Kathy Lawrence, two siblings Brent (Melissa) Lawrence and Jennifer (Greg) Cook all of Gleason, TN. Jeff is the pastor of Grace Landmark Baptist Church in Buckhannon. Jeff served previously as a missionary in Australia for 8 years. Jeff proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. He was a member of Buckhannon VFW post #3663, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy of TN, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Visitation for Jeff will be Thursday, Feb 28, 2013 at Grace Landmark Baptist Church, in Buckhannon, from 6-8 PM with funeral immediately following. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason, TN. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

D. Ward Eakin
Doran Ward Eakin, 90, formerly of Buckhannon, WV, began his eternal life on Friday, December 29, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a US Marine Corps Major-retired and a December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor survivor who served with distinction throughout the WW II Pacific Campaign. He was the eldest child of Peter Evard and Elizabeth Woods Eakin, and was born January 4, 1916, in Skyles, WV. Ward is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Peter, sister Helen Eakin Dias, sister Mary Eakin Fitzwater, and his own daughter Susan Virginia Eakin. Ward attended Weston High School and later graduated in 1939 from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Growing up he worked numerous jobs at the family owned Eakin Lumber Company of central West Virginia. Following WW II, on June 7, 1947 he married Margaret Jane Carpenter of Buckhannon. He had a long career as an electronics-manufacturing manager retiring from Xerox Corporation in 1982. He later moved to Fairport, NY and resided there at his death but never forgot his beloved West Virginia. Ward is survived by Margaret, his wife of 59 years and sons Paul and wife (Barbara) of Webster, NY; Thomas and wife (Meghan) of Pittsford, NY; and James and wife (Linda) of Fairport, NY along with grandchildren Andrew, Lauren, and Alex. He also has several surviving nieces and nephews. Always the reliable family leader, Wards love of nature and life left lasting impressions on those who knew him and joy to those who loved him. He will be missed but will continue to guide us through our cherished memories of him. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Karl Ray Ellison
Karl Ray Ellison, age 50, of Columbus, OH, died Friday, November 3, 2006 at his home. He was born March 5, 1956 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late George William and Leona Virginia (Walton) Ellison. Mr. Ellison is survived by one son, Eli Ellison; four sisters, Patricia Mills and husband Macky of Buckhannon, Joetta Burroughs and husband Gary of Buckhannon, Mary Ervin and husband Bill of Buckhannon, Vickie Harris of Grafton, OH; one brother Ricky Ellison of Clarksburg, WV. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Living Word Church of God. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Living Word Church of God, with the Rev. Frank Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Helen Marie Elmer
Helen Marie Elmer, age 78, of Jane Lew, WV died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Rosewood Extended Care in Grafton, WV. She was born November 6, 1928 in Jane Lew, a daughter of the late Warren L. and Ruth Summers Elmer. She is survived by one brother, James E. Elmer and wife Delma of Jane Lew; two nieces, Susan G. Silski and husband Timothy of Fairmont, WV and Linda J. Elmer of Fairmont; two nephews, Warren L. Elmer and wife Rhonda of Elkins, WV and James Christopher (Chris) Elmer and wife Kristen of Bunker Hill, WV and six great nieces and nephews. She taught school for the Lewis County Board of Education for forty-three years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the Fairview United Methodist Church at Jane Lew where she played the piano for many years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger McKee officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery at Lorentz, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lena Ruth Ours Martin
Lena Ruth Ours Martin, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, September 22, 2008 at St. Joseph's NCF of Buckhannon. She was born August 31, 1913 in Falls Mill, WV, a daughter of the late Frantz and Luverna Cobb Veith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Parley Ours who died on November 22, 1950 and 2nd husband, Maurice Martin who died on March 3, 1988; one son, John Mack Ours; one daughter, Betty Jean Dye; five brothers, Oliver, Okey, Ray, Fred and Grant Veith and three sisters, Nora Black, Rosa Knicely and Vergie Hamilton. She is survived by two grandsons, Jon Nicholas Ours of Clarksburg, WV and James Thomas Dye and wife Lisa of Bushland, TX; two granddaughters, Kathryn Ann Lucente and husband Tony of Clarksburg, WV and Suellen Dye Wilkins and husband Randy of Tallahassee, FL; three great-grandsons, Jonathan Carpenter of Clarksburg, Joshua Dye of Bushland and Benjamin Wilkins of Tallahassee; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Wilkins of Tallahassee; one great-great-granddaughter, Aberielle Carpenter of Clarksburg; two sisters, Naomi Harlow of Adrian, WV and Emma Tenney of Buckhannon and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Martin was a bank teller for Central National Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Friends will be received Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Willard Joseph 'Bill' Ervin
Willard Joseph 'Bill' Ervin, age 69, of Buckhannon, WV, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 07, 2007. He was born April 17, 1938 in Buckhannon, WV a son of the late Willard and Opal Shreves Ervin. On February, 12, 1994 he married Mary Ellen Ellison, his wife and best friend, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Kenneth Ervin & wife of Morgantown, WV; one brother, Steve Ervin & wife Wilma of Kansas City, KS; two step daughters, Kelli Dean & husband Mike of Buckhannon and Cindy Kotol & husband Tom of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Payton Kotol of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Tommy Kotol, Camron Dean, Jordan Dean and Joseph Dean all of Buckhannon. Mr. Ervin was a 1956 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Served in the US Marine Corp, was a member of the Buckhannon Elks Lodge # 1736, Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598 & the Buckhannon Country Club. He was a Master Barber & Pawn Broker and owned the Golden Razor and E-Z Pawn. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Monday, October 8, 2007 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Cancer Center, Harrison Ave., Elkins, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements

Paul 'Pap' L. Everett
Paul 'Pap' L. Everett, age 73, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born May 31, 1934 in Effingham, IL, a son of the late Renes and Louise Gillespie Everett. On May 8, 1957 he married Dorothy A. Anthony, who survives. Also surviving is one son, Kevin D. Everett of Buckhannon; one daughter, Melanie A. Kelley and husband Mike of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Michael Kelley and fianc Carissa Waugaman of Queens, WV and Alexander C. Everett of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Crystal S. Everett of Buckhannon; four brothers, Charles Everett and wife Pauline of Fredricktown, OH, Richard Everett and wife Ruth of Providence, RI, David Everett and wife Nelda of Effingham and Bobby Everett of Wheeler, IL; several nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Sally Tkach and husband Frank of Poland, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul L. Everett, Jr. and one brother, Loren Everett. Mr. Everett was a Roughneck for SW Jack Drilling and was retired from Aristocrat Glass of Buckhannon. He was a Christian by Faith. Dorothy O. Marson
Dorothy O. Marson, age 102 of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born April 14, 1906 at Alexander, WV a daughter of the late Hanson and Ovia Crawford Click. Mrs. Marson married Harry Marson, II who preceded her in death on September 5, 1948. She is survived by one son Jim Marson of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Lattimer and husband Brian of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Harry Marson, IV and Wife Yvonne of Elkins, WV, Randy Marson of Boca Raton, FL, Jimmy and Larry Cottrell both of Houston, TX, two great-grandsons, H.C. Marson, V, Darrick Marson, five great-granddaughters, Ashley, and Serena Marson, Brandi Cottrell, Kayla and Peyton Carlyle; two great-great grandsons Harry Marson, VI and Hank Marson; one great-great granddaughter, Sydney Cottrell; one daughter-in-law Marion Marson of Boca Raton; three nieces, Jill Click Starkey of Fairmont, WV, Mary Jo Harper of Martins Ferry, OH and Marie Click Hill of Elkins, WV; a nephew, Cecil Ray Click of Elkins, WV; step granddaughters, Mary Ann and Chris and one step grandson, Mike. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Harry Marson, III; one daughter, Hilda Cottrell, two grandsons, Michael and Terry Cottrell; four brothers, Cecil, Durwood, James and Roy Click; and one sister, Hazel Click. Mrs. Marson was a private care nurse at St. Joseph's and Leonard Memorial Hospitals. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, Teter CEOs, Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star and Welcome Club. Friends will be received 6 PM to 8PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Cemetery in Beverly. Junior Reese Thomas Evans
Junior Reese Thomas Evans, age 81, of Hodgesville, WV passed away at his home on November 14, 2008. He was born September 29, 1927, a son of the late Rhys Thomas and Elva Sines Evans. He was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Ruby Marple Evans on August 4, 2003. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Delana Harris Evans and three sisters, Jean Hardy, Sarah Campbell and Mable Gillespie. He is survived by one son, Gary W. Evans and wife Inis Simons Evans of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Delana Dee Evans Ryan and husband Bobby of Hodgesville and Jeromy W. Evans and wife Jamie Phillips Evans of Heavner Grove; four great grandchildren, Cody and Cade Garrett and Kaitlyn and Emily Evans; two step great grandchildren, Samuel Ryan and Katlyn Ryan both of Morgantown, WV; one sister, Mildred Ann Carpenter of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Evans was a Christian and attended Good Hope Tabernacle Church. He was one of the owners/bosses of Dexcar Queen Coal Company, Hodgesville Trucking Company and Three Musketeers, Inc. He had the proud heritage of coming from a coal mining family. He owned several rental houses and apartments in the Buckhannon Area. He was blessed to always remain a hard worker, even after retirement. His love of family and numerous friends was always found in his lighthearted, generous, personality. Friends will be received Monday, November 17, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Austin Lee Eagle
Austin Lee Eagle, newborn son of Timothy Michael Eagle and Christina Henline of Century, WV, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Steven and Melinda Henline of Buckhannon; paternal grandfather, Brad Eagle of Buckhannon; paternal grandmother, Donna Eagle of Century, WV; maternal great-grandmother, Deloris Henline of Buckhannon; three aunts, Jennifer Perrine of Buckhannon, Misty Clevenger of Philippi, WV and Jamie Workman of Buckhannon; and two uncles, Brad and Chris Eagle of Buckhannon. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev.
