Roger Dale Fortney
Roger Dale Fortney, age 60, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born November 30, 1949 in Kesling Mill, WV, a son of the late John Dale and Delores Josephine Wright Fortney. On June 14, 1969 Roger was married to Dorris Renee Williams who survives. Also surviving are a son, Roger Dale Fortney, Jr. of Buckhannon; a step mother, Portia M. Fortney of Buckhannon and three sisters, Shirley Jo Gassnola of Alum Bridge, WV and Alice Charlene Malcolm and Sharon Ann Stackpole both of Buckhannon. Roger was a foreman for J B Energy, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and attended Kesling Mill United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Froggatt, IV
Joseph Froggatt, IV, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born December 8, 1951 in East Orange, NJ and was raised in West Orange, NJ, a son of the late Joseph Froggatt, III and Elizabeth Ann Wyllie Froggatt. On October 8, 1977 he married Mary-Jane Kuhl who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Froggatt, V and fianc, Amie Nicole Starliper of Buckhannon, WV; two daughters, Mary-Elizabeth (Froggatt) Phillips and fianc, Paul A. Bolton of Buckhannon and Megan Christine Froggatt and fianc John A. Lawrence, Jr. of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Shaleia R. Phillips of Buckhannon; one grandson, Landin G. Lawrence of Buckhannon; two sisters, Jean Adele Froggatt and Deborah Ann Rolli both of West Orange, NJ; two nephews, Michael Shawn and John Anthony Rolli of West Orange; one great-nephew, John Anthony Rolli, Jr. of West Orange and one great-niece, Giuliana Marie Rolli of West Orange. Mr. Froggatt was manager with Edison Parking Authority in N.J. and a Presbyterian by faith. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Salvation Army of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the family. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna M. Lee
Donna M. Lee of Norvell Drive, Buckhannon, WV passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins, WV after a long battle with cancer, a daughter of the late Denzil and Mildred Westfall Jack. She is survived by her 2nd husband, James Lee of Buckhannon; three sons, John Moore, Joseph Moore and wife Anita and Chris Lee and wife Jennifer all of Buckhannon; three sisters, Barbara Alkire of Buckhannon, Sharon Clevidence and Ann Henry both Uniontown, KY; three granddaughters, Moriah and Leah Moore and Marana Lee; five grandsons, Codey Pancake, Isaiah Moore, Branson and Ilias Lee and Joseph Huddleston and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, John B. Moore; one daughter, Virginia Jean Moore; five sisters, Doris Jack, Betty Alvis, Mary Fracassi, Helen Gibson and Charlene Chanceler and two brothers, George and Joseph Jack. Mrs. Lee was a homemaker and a Chrisitan by faith. She was the Vice President of WV Auto Center in Buckhannon. She also was a Pittsburgh Pirates Fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends will be received Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Vegan, WV. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and the Hospice ICU. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Upshur Relay for Life in Buckhannon or Hospice Care IPU, 169 Diamond Ave. Elkins, WV 26241. Laura T. Fowler (born Twana Rae Robinson)
FAIRLAWN, OHIO - On Friday, April 22, 2011, Laura T. Fowler, 72, following a courageous nine year battle with lung cancer, passed away at home with family members by her side.
She was born in Buckhannon, WV on October 24, 1938, she graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and then from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Following college graduation she accepted a position with the Akron, Ohio Public Schools as an English teacher. Laura taught English and other subjects there for 15 years, leaving only after she applied for, and was awarded a two-year fellowship by Kent State University that allowed her to obtain a Masters Degree in English. And, in turn, the Masters degree gave her credential to be employed as an adjunct professor at Kent State University (and then the University of Akron) teaching courses in English composition and grammar. Laura loved many things, first her family; Grandchildren, brothers, nephews, nieces, aunts uncles; Gourmet cooking (she compiled new recipes by researching her 98 plus cookbooks); Reading historical novels, Who-Done-Its and the biographies of famous chefs. And finally, on the national level, following, Democratic party politics; (She never failed to mention, over-and-over, that during college she was a volunteer in John F. Kennedys campaign). Already, she is sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Elizabeth Robinson of Buckhannon and her former husband, Michael George. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Robert Fowler of Fairlawn, OH; her son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Nancy George of Dover, Ohio and her grandchildren Alexandria and Lili George also of Dover, Ohio; her brother and his wife, Larry and Nancy Robinson of Akron, Ohio; brothers Gary Robinson and wife Barbara and Dr. Kenneth Robinson and wife Carolyn both of Buckhannon; her Aunt and Uncle, Hilda and Alex More of Canal Fulton, Ohio; her niece Beth Chidister and husband Tim Chidister of Buckhannon, and her nephews, David Robinson of Buckhannon, and Kenneth Paul Robinson, II and his wife Jade and their son, Kenneth Paul III of Des Moines, Iowa as well as other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Shreve officiating. Interment will follow in the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rodney Junior Kelley
Rodney Junior Kelley, age 51, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, August 14, 2009 as a result of a work related auto accident on the Tallmansville, Rd.. He was born October 17, 1957 in Upshur County, WV a son of Junior and Jane Marsh Kelley. On July 17, 1992 he married Linda Herron who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Roy Kelley of Lumberton, NC and Michael Courtney of Morgantown, WV; four daughters, Melissa Smith and husband Paul of Buckhannon, Brandi Locklear and husband Melvin of Penbroke, NC and twin daughters, Kristy and Krystal Kelley of Penbroke; ten grandchildren; one brother, Randy Pork Kelley and wife Phyllis of Buckhannon; one sister, Cathy Tallman and husband Tom of Queens, WV; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Rodney was a Sergent with the 82nd Airborne Division Ft. Bragg, NC. He has been working at Alcon as a cement truck driver for 15 years. He was a member of a bowling league at Buckhannon Lanes and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. His joys of life were hunting, fishing, bowling and his family. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Monday, August 17, 2009 from 11 AM-2 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. T. J. Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery at Queens, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 and # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald R. 'Potts' Keaveny, Jr.
Ronald R. 'Potts' Keaveny, Jr., age 79, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born August 13, 1931 in Rainelle, WV a son of the late Ronald Ralph Keaveny, Sr. and Maude McClung Keaveny. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Loy and Tommy Keaveny and two sisters, Rebecca Darone and Louella Guy. He is survived by one brother Gene Keaveny and wife Kim of Fayetteville, NC; one sister, Joan Coughlin of Buckhannon; one sister in law Janice Keaveny of Kissimmee, FL; 12 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and great nephews and 6 great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Mr. Keaveny was a groundskeeper at the Rainelle Golf Course and was an avid walker of the Buckhannon River Walk. Friends will be received Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 1-2 PM the funeral hour at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair is in charge of the arrangements.

Janette Joyce Johnson
Janette Joyce Johnson, age 52, of Valley Bend, WV died Friday, December 20, 2013 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born December 22, 1960 in Philippi, WV, a daughter of Patricia Koon Craven who survives of Buckhannon and the late Floyd Wayne Craven. On September 23, 1990 she married Rick Johnson who preceded her in death on February 12, 1994. In addition to her mother she is survived by one brother, Jeffrey Wayne Craven of Clarksburg, WV. Mrs. Johnson worked as an in-store demonstrator for Advantage Sales & Marketing/Integrated and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Monday, December 23, 2013 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jay Teodoro officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard Louis Foglesong
Howard Louis Foglesong, age 84, of Horner, WV, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon, WV. He was born August 13, 1926 in Point Pleasant, WV, a son of the late Charles and Marie Riffle Foglesong. On June 16, 1991 he married Alice Marie Nelson Ervine Foglesong who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Cindy Rock and husband Tim of Buckhannon, one step son, Leigh Ervine and wife Lisa of Martinsburg, WV; one step daughter, Walda Henson and husband Burley of Springfield, MI; three grandsons, Jared, Jason and Justin Rock all of Buckhannon; one step granddaughter, Rebekah Ervine of Martinsburg; one step grandson, David Ervin of Martinsburg and one brother, Earl Ray Foglesong and wife Joyce of Gallispolis Ferry, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Roush and his first wife, Justine Foglesong who died on December 21, 1984. Mr. Foglesong was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He was retired from Appalachian Power Company after 31 years as an Electrical Engineer in Logan, WV. He was a 4-H All Star, active and supportive of the Girl Scouts and active in the Logan Presbyterian Church for 31 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He also served in the US Army as an MP during WWII. Friends will be received Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 2 3 PM at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Shreve officiating. Interment of the cremains will be in the McCue Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Black Diamond Council of the Girl Scouts of America or to an organization of your choice. Gail Gertrude Fox
Gail Gertrude Fox, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born February 15, 1928 in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late Floyd W. and Gertrude Eleanor Case McPherson. On July 23, 1948 she married James E. Fox who preceded her in death on October 7, 2002. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Dale McPherson and four sisters, Muriel Mani, Jeanne Back, Betty Wyant and Hope McPherson. She is survived by three sons, James Fox and wife Shirley of Buckhannon, Bill Fox and wife Sherri of Manchester, OH and Rob Fox and wife Jamie of N. Akron, OH; two daughters, Connie Vaughan and husband Stan of Uniontown, OH and Cassie Schramm and husband Duane of E. Akron, OH and fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fox was a parts stocker for Whallberg-McQuary and a member of the Way of Holiness Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Friday, May 17, 2013 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Way of Holiness. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ethel Lee Hyre Johnston
Ethel Lee Hyre Johnston, age 85, of Rock Cave, WV died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at her home. She was born January 26, 1930 in Frenchton, WV, a daughter of the late Herbert P. and Agnes Virginia McClain Hyre. On December 6, 1949 she married Johnnie Johnston who preceded her in death on October 6, 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Johnston and three brothers, Jack Robert, Charles Edward and Herbert Hyre, Jr. Surviving are three sons, Paul Johnston and wife Debra of Rock Cave, Carl Johnston and wife Tina of Spotsylvania, VA and Mike Johnston and wife Cathy of Buckhannon, WV; three daughters, Karen Wendling and husband Fred and Mary Kay Arey and husband Kevin all of Buckhannon and Jackie Gibson and husband Gene of Wilmington, NC; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Heavner and Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery in Selbyville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jackie L. Ford
Jackie L. Ford, age 76, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at United Hospital Center. He was born September 8, 1936 in Buckhannon a son of the late Hilbert Doc and Ona G. Linger Ford. On April 25, 1959 he married Margie L. Alexander who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah Cvechko and husband Mark of Buckhannon; two sons, Jeffrey C. Ford and wife Susan and Scott Ford, both of Buckhannon; three step granddaughters, Kara Parsons and husband Joe of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kristy Cvechko of Vietnam and Lauren Cvechko of Buckhannon; one step great granddaughter, Natalie Parsons of Ft. Wayne; and one sister, Dorothy Luce and husband Fred of Jefferson, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie LaBelle. Jack served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961. He was a member of the Buckhannon VFD for 25 years, a member of Tallmansville Baptist Church and retired from the City of Buckhannon Water Department after 33 years as a supervisor. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday, June 14, 2013 from 5-9 PM. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
