Gary W. Marple
Gary W. Marple, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born March 8, 1950 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Henry L. and Mary Lee Reed Marple. He is survived by a sister, Pamela Barcus and husband Tom of Mt. Clare, WV; nephew, Ryan Radtka and wife Susan of Morgantown; a great niece, Zoey Radtka of Morgantown and a cousin, Barbara Coombs of Buckhannon. Gary was a civil engineer and an ordained minister. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dennie Woody Gregory
Dennie Woody Gregory, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home. He was born September 28, 1938 in Gaines, WV, a son of the late Troy and Lovie Anderson Gregory. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and infant twin brothers. He is survived by three daughters, Loretta McCartney and husband John of Crawford, WV, Donna Gregory of Walkersville, WV and Karren Tucker and husband Tracy of Wilson, NC; three sons, Troy Gregory of Bristolville, OH, Bryan Gregory of Walkersville and Daniel Gregory and wife Dawnna of Buckhannon; one sister Nina Bacorn of Akron, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gregory was the founder and owner of Woodys Music until 1998. He was a Christian by faith and loved playing music and building or repairing instruments. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstlcair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Patricia L. McKnight
Patricia L. McKnight, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, May 2, 2008 her home. She was born August 1, 1932 in Copen, WV, a daughter of the late Archie and Naomi Davis Kuhl. On September 10, 1951 she married William E. McKnight who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Debra Hupp and husband Tom of Buckhannon, Aleece Williams and husband Dale of Buckhannon, Twila Heffelfinger and husband Rich of Charleston, WV and Marsha Gregory and husband Ron of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Tiffany Kitzmiller of Baltimore, MD, Samantha Gregory of Buckhannon and Heather Earl of Charleston; four grandsons, Justin Williams of Buckhannon, Brock and Blake Heffelfinger, both of Charleston and Jamison Hupp of Knoxville, TN; one sister Wanda Pratt and husband Kenneth of Richmond, VA; two brothers, David Kuhl and wife Marge of OH and Harold Kuhl and wife Vicki of OH; brother in law, Byron McKnight and wife Deloris of OH and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Brooks and one brother, Duaine Kuhl. Mrs. McKnight was a homemaker, a Baptist by faith, a member of the First Nighters Bowling League, Buckhannon Jay-cettes and Senior Center Bridge Club. Friends will be received Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens at Heaters, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Vada Ruth Lesure Giles
Vada Ruth Lesure Giles, age 91 of Buckhannon, WV passed away December 18, 2012 at Holbrook on the Hill, after an extended illness with Cancer. Ruth spent most of her years farming on her parents or uncles farm outside of Buckhannon at Mt. Nebo or working at Moore Papers check printing center. Her last 5 years were spent on Dover Street in downtown Buckhannon. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, John William Lesure; mother, Ada Debarr Lesure; husband, Robert L. Giles and brother, Verlin W. Lesure. She leaves behind daughter, Tawana Linger; granddaughter, Crystal Linger and three great-grandsons, Benjamin Joseph Anderson, Sebastian Lee Anderson and Matthew Ray Kincaid. A celebration of life service is being held at The Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church at 2 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2013 with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. The church is about 1 mile North of Route 33 on Mt. Nebo Road. Stay on the main road and take a right at the stop sign as you get close to the church. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Leila Joy Ours
Leila Joy Ours, age 98, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Victoria Manor of Buckhannon. She was born on June 3, 1909 at Tallmansville, WV a daughter of the late Samuel B and Nora (Butcher) Tenney. In 1930 she married Mayford Thaddeus Ours who preceded her in death October 1, 1989. Mrs. Ours is survived by one son, Bruce Our and wife Tina of Seabrook, MD; one foster son, Edward Martin and wife Kathy of OH; four daughters, Marette Sue Martin of Redding, CA, Marian L. Ours of Vacaville, CA, Shelia Markins of Huntington, WV, and Pricilla Clark and husband Quincy of Charlotte, NC, 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great- grandchildren, one sister Hilton (Tenney) Mason of Buckhannon; and caregivers, Donna and Della Hoover and families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Samuel W. Ours; three sisters, Flora Riggs, Lula Reed and Zona Carter; and one brother, Lloyd Tenney. Leila was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She was an elementary school teacher and principal in Braxton, Upshur, Webster, and Kanawha Counties. She attended Glenville State College and received a bachelors Degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a Masters Degree from West Virginia University. She belonged to the American Assoc. of University Women, WSCS, Homemakers Club of Tallmansville, 4-H Leader and Pioneer, WVEA, NEA, Retired Teachers Assoc of Kanawha and Upshur Counties. Friends will be received from 4-9 PM, Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Poling-St Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday at the funeral home with the Reverends Billee Scott Mick and John Allan Mason. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville. Flowers are appreciated, however in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, c/o Patty Strader, 44 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201. Rev. Robert 'Bob' Lee Poling
Rev. Robert 'Bob' Lee Poling, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. He was born February 8, 1932 in Cubana, WV, a son of the late Herbert and Hazel Simmons Poling. On April 27, 1957 he married Lois Yvonne Dean who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert Holt Poling and wife Mary Alice of Buckhannon and J.D. Poling and wife Stella of Weston, WV; one daughter, Amy Toothman and husband Daniel of Fairmont, WV; one granddaughter, Brittany Danielle Poling and special friend Matt Alden of Bridgeport, WV; six grandsons, Cory Seth Poling of Morgantown, WV, Robert C. Poling and fiance Kendra Bowen of Buckhannon, Ean Shae DeBarr of Fairmont, Daniel Toothman Jr. of Salem, WV, Eric Sherrard and wife Sarah and Ryan Sherrard and fiance Lori Suttle all of Weston; one great granddaughter, April Sherrard of Weston; three great grandsons, Zach, Aaron and Wesley Sherrard all of Weston; three brothers, Lawrence Poling and wife Doris of Warren, OH, Arden Poling of Barberton, OH and Archie Poling and wife Renna of Buckhannon; three sisters, Wilda Slaughter of Buckhannon, Lucille Gillespie of Niles, OH and Freeda Murphy and husband Jim of Morgantown; one sister-in-law, Kathy Poling of Buckhannon; one brother-in-law, John C. Dean and wife Sue of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilmer, Howard and Elmer Poling; one sister, Kathleen Bailey; several nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephew. Rev. Poling served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Buckhannon and he attended the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. He was a former member of the Kesling Mill Lions Club. He graduated from the University of Hard Knocks in 1998, was a Lay Speaker for the Frenchton United Methodist Charge for nine months and was a full time Baptist Minister for 42 years. He retired from Moore Business Forms in 1990. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his dogs Scooter, Chloe and Macie, hunting, WVU football and basketball, his many Christian friends and most of all the Lord for whom he continually served, ministered and witnessed until his last few hours. Friends will be received 2- 8 PM Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack M. Bohman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers may do so to C/O Mt. Hermon Cemetery Fund 10 King School Rd. Patrick C. Guth
Patrick C. Guth, age 54, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born April 8, 1959 in Upshur Co., WV, a son of the late Joseph Max and Nellie Warner Guth. He is survived by two sisters, Frances Rohr and husband Rodney and Kathleen Mick all of Buckhannon; two brothers, Joseph Max Guth Jr. of Pennsboro, WV and Michael J. Guth and wife Melinda of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Guth enjoyed camping and fishing. Friends will be received Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 1-3 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Upshur County Honor Guard at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruthine Taylor Gee
Ruthine Taylor Gee, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born February 20, 1941 in Upper Tract, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Don Clifford and Ruth Wamsley Taylor. On March 28, 1964 she married Lee D. Gee, Jr., who preceded her in death on August 16, 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Keturah Frye and husband Ron and Lelah Heater and husband Robert both of Buckhannon; one son, Gerd Khnen and his wife and daughter of Germany; four grandsons, Corey Frye, Shane Frye and fiance Destiny Arey, Sean Frye and Darren Darnall all of Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Kari Quesenberry and husband Jeff of Weston, WV, and Rashelle Heater, Taylor Darnall and Nikki Wilkins all of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Kal Osburn of Buckhannon and Preston Quesenberry of Weston; two great-granddaughters, Gracelyn Sheets of Buckhannon and Tatiana Frye of Oceanside, CA; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; a special cousin, Darlene Pillz of Buckhannon and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Gee was a School Teacher and Librarian for the Upshur County Board of Education. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Ruthine grew up in Marlinton and called Marlinton and Buckhannon her home. She was a very active participant in Harvest Time in the Hills and was a member of the Tennerton Community Council and WVEA. Friends will be received Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5-8 PM at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Upshur County Parish House 68 College Ave Buckhannon, WV 26201. Lorenza Jack Goff Goldsmith
Lorenza Jack Goff Goldsmith, age 80, of Pennsboro, WV died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Fairmont Regional Medical Center in Fairmont, WV. He was born October 17, 1935 in Weston, WV, a son of the late Luther and Dolly Mae Donaldson Goldsmith. On May 31, 1958 he married Laura Kathryn Dowell who preceded him in death on February 14, 2013. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Bud and Dana Howard Goldsmith; six sisters, Edna Spaur, Mabel Straley, Lorain Ducky McCutcheon, Hazel Barker, Geneva Jenny Montgomery and Thelma Hitt and step father, Ernie Edwards. He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Goldsmith of Greenwood, WV; one son, Michael Goldsmith of Greenwood; two grandsons, Jason Michael Goldsmith of Greenwood and Jonathan Andrew Goldsmith of Rolling Hills Estate, CA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Goldsmith was a Mechanic, an avid camper and a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Reger Chapel Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. Francis I. Oldaker
Francis I. Oldaker age 96 of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born December 5, 1910 in Upshur County a son of the late Henry and Naeoma Everson Oldaker who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Chloe Suder Oldaker, a son, Kenneth Oldaker, a sister Opal Edwards and 7 brothers, Robert, Henry, Emil, James, Richard, Jake and Frank Oldaker. He is survived by his second wife, Ocie Sothen Wright Oldaker of Buckhannon, a daughter Ruby Armstrong and husband Marvin of Monaca, PA, a step son, Carl Sothen and wife Carol of Buckhannon, a granddaughter, Debbie Cichoski of Monaca, PA and three grandsons, Roger Armastrong of El Paso, TX, David Armstrong of Monaca, PA and Randy Armstrong of Oakdale, PA. Mr. Oldaker was a steel worker for J& L Steel and a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Kesling Mill, WV. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbour County Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Holbrook's Nursing Home for five years of care and compassion.

Dorothy Ellen Walls Gaston
Dorothy Ellen Walls Gaston, age 81, of Morgantown, WV died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown. She was born September 30, 1934 in Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late William Walls and Dorothy Ramsey Pollock. In the spring of 1953, her journey with James Edward Gaston started and on December 27, 1953 she married James who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William Harvey Gaston and wife Diane, Raymond Parrish Gaston and wife Pamela and Paul Rollins Gaston and wife Angela all of Morgantown; one daughter, Lou Ellen Goodwin and husband Douglas of Morgantown; two grandsons, Paul Crumrine of Morgantown and Benjamin Gaston of Bruceton Mills, WV; two granddaughters, Bridgette Crumrine of New Martinsville, WV and Natasha Goodwin of Morgantown and one great-granddaughter, Molly Crumrine of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Belinda DAnne Morlock and one brother, Marshal Gordon Walls. Dottie loved spending time with her family and was a huge Mountaineer Fan and thoroughly enjoyed the WVU Band. She was one of the original merge organizers of the Black Diamond Girl Scout Council. Dottie was the greatest of homemakers, a professional bridal consultant, an accomplished seamstress and many will remember her talents from Unique Crafts and Landscapes Unlimited. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Roy Jones
Roy Jones, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born June 3, 1929 in Russellville, WV, a son of the late Clyde Alexander and Laura Edith Wright Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John H. and Clyde Jones; one half-brother, Robert Toney and one half-sister, Bernice Osborne. He is survived by one brother, James L. Jones of Buckhannon. Mr. Jones was a Lumberman. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Bethel Cemetery in Corlis, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
