Anneta Lynn Landis
Anneta Lynn Landis, age 66, of Ellamore, WV died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, WV. She was born April 12, 1944 in Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of the late Paul and Velma Irene Griffith Deuley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kevin and Roger Dale Deuley. She is survived by three daughters, Annett Lynn Herron, Marie Ann Conley and Loretta Kay Flowers and husband Samuel all of Buckhannon; two sons, Ronnie Junior Landis and wife Angel and Robert Landis all of Buckhannon; four sisters, Opal Clauss and husband Tuley, Pauline Wilfong all of Buckhannon, Judy Farley and husband Jeff of Chowtah, OK and Brenda Cheeks and husband Willy of Charleston, WV; five brothers, Russel Deuley and wife Jeannie, Ervin Deuley and wife Ellen and Ronald Deuley all of Buckhannon, Denver Deuley and wife Linda of Ohio and David Deuley of Oklahoma; twenty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Landis was a homemaker. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 12 Noon until 2 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Deuley Family Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul Joseph Hodyas
Paul Joseph Hodyas, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on Oct. 13, 1937 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Paul and Rose Cermak Hodyas. Paul attended high school and graduated from the Linsly Military Institute in 1956. He graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV, with a degree in Economics in 1960. Paul was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps for whom he served a total of 12 years in active duty and as a reserve achieving the rank of Captain prior to his discharge in 1973. Paul was employed by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand and Ohio Lime Companies during his professional career as a sales manager prior to retiring in 2003. Paul was a devoted family man with an infectious personality, charm and sense of humor. Raised a catholic, he found our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his faith at the Bethany Baptist Church along the banks of the Buckhannon River in Hall, WV. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara A. Hall Hodyas of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; his son Michael Hodyas and his wife Lisa of Canton, MI; his granddaughter Dasha of Canton; his sisters, Rosemarie Bursee and husband Charles and Elizabeth (Betty) Curtis; his brother-in-law, Larry Hall and his wife, Nancy, of Bridgeport, WV and numerous other family members including nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family members in Germany and Poland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jerry Hall, of Havre de Grace, MD. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home from 6-9 PM. He will lie in state from 10-11 AM Friday the funeral hour at the Bethany Baptist Church in Hall. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Cemetery on the hill overlooking Hall. May Paul rest in peace. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Karen Kay Hull
Karen Kay Hull, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home. She was born October 25, 1954 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Waugh H. and Eva Ruth Cogar Hoffman. On March 25, 1989 she married Virgil K. Hull who survives. Also surviving is one step-son, Michael Eugene Hull of Beckley, WV. Karen worked as an LPN at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon for 26 years. Friends will be received Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Cemetery in Excelsior, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Marie Lantz
Dorothy Marie Lantz, age 82, of Annapolis, MD died on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. She was born August 19, 1929 in Moundsville, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur Wilbert and Isabelle Sarah Crangle Earnest. In 1952 she married Leon Lantz, who preceded her in death in 1996 and in 2004 she married Robert Papp who preceded her in death in 2011. She is survived by three sons, Leon Butch Lantz, II and wife Marsha Marie of Sykesville, MD, Lynn E. Lantz and wife Rebecca Louise of Sykesville, and Larry Michael Lantz and Kathy Giacalone of Kensington, MD; one grandson, David Lantz of West Minster, MD; three granddaughters, Sarah Marie Lantz of Columbia, MD, Rebecca Lantz of Laurel, MD and Madison Lantz of Sykesville; one step grandson, Robert Anthony of Baltimore, MD; one step granddaughter, Erica Canada of Baltimore and one sister, Norma Lee Walters of Huntsville, AL. Mrs. Lantz was an art educator in the Upshur County Schools starting in 1962; Chairman of the Art Department in Buckhannon Upshur Middle School starting in 1977; art educator at WVWC; member staff development council Upshur County Board of Education in 1977, county advisory council in 1986 and county art coordinator in 1986. She was on the Board Directors of the American Red Cross of Upshur County from 1960-1961; a director of the Strawberry Festival Pre-preview in Buckhannon, WV 1961-62, a member International Society Of Artists, American Association of University Women, Professional Educators Association, National Education Association (del. to national convention), West Virginia Education Association, Upshur County Education Association (past president), Delta Kappa Gamma (past president) and General Federation Women's Club (junior department, past president, state secretary). Friends will be received Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sharon Lea Howard
Sharon Lea Howard, age 46, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her home. She was born September 6, 1967 in Weston, WV, a daughter of the late Robert L. Rogers and Alice L. Hicks Rogers Mick. On April 29, 2007 she married Chris Howard who survives. Also surviving is one son, Tyson Tomey of Buckhannon; three daughters, Shasta Kelley and husband Robert of Tennerton, WV, Crystal Blankenship and Chelsea Cox both of Buckhannon; one step son, Christopher Howard, Jr.; three brothers, Bobby Rogers and Ronnie and Stewart Mullens all of Buckhannon; one sister, Linda Arbogast of Vandalia, WV; several nieces and nephews and step father, Clint Mick of Hackers Creek, WV. Sharon was a homemaker and worked at the Quality Inn in Weston. A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the Pleasant Valley Church on Hackers Creek. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tyson Tomey or Chelsea Cox in c/o Premier Bank. Poling-St. Clair Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

Francis 'Frank' Lee Hoover
Francis 'Frank' Lee Hoover, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born March 17, 1941 in Big Bend, WV, a son of the late Charles and Margaret Posey Hoover. He is survived by his companion, Brenda Thompson and grandson, Ronin Copning of Buckhannon; two sons, Charles Lee Hoover of Akron, OH and Francis Kirk Hoover and wife Andrea Joanne of Buckhannon; one daughter, Christina Hoover Carr and husband Terry of Ludington, MI; and one step daughter, Janella Cochran and husband Randall; twelve grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Nick, and Bethany Carr, and Rochelle, Sydney, Casey, Rhianna and Rhaegan Hoover, and Levi, Cain and Shania Cochran and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilford Hoover of Dover, OH, Kenneth Hoover of Narasse, OH and Woodrow McCutcheon of Deland, FL and two sisters, Charlotte Lewis of Buckhannon and Linda Sue Tinsley of Allgood, TN. Mr. Hoover was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He was a member of Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663. He retired from the US Army after 21 years of service, having served three tours in Korea, one tour in Germany and one tour in Panama. Friends will be received Monday, February 3, 2014 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with Bishop Steven Linger officiating. Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. Virgil Gary Koon
Virgil Gary Koon, age 66, of Ellamore, WV died Monday, October 4, 2010 in Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born January 9, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, a son of Edna I. Booth Koon of Ellamore and the late Virgil Herman Koon. In addition to his mother he is survived by one son, Hunter Koon of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Ashley Koon of Anchorage, AK; one granddaughter, Lynn of Anchorage and two brothers, Danny L. Koon and wife Beverly of Slaughters, KY and Michael Koon and wife Kirtha of Elkview, WV. Mr. Koon was a retired Realtor. He was a member of the Nay Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a Vietnam Combat Veteran having served with Naval Aviation VP8 Air Squad. He was a member of the Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM, BPOE Lodge # 1736, Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, VFW Post # 3663 and the Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion. Friends will be received Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with Elk Memorial Service at 7:45 PM. He will lie in state from 9 AM until 10 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin at 10 AM with the Rev. Harold Langevin, Jr. and the Rev. James Arbogast officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM will conduct Masonic Honors at the graveside. Eva Lea Houdeyshell
Eva Lea Houdeyshell, age71, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her daughters home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. She was born September 13, 1942 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Wesley and Dora Mae Sipe DeMoss. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Perry and fianc Ricky Teems of Buckhannon; two sons, Samuel Darr and wife Jennifer and John Wesley Darr and wife Sandy all of Valdosta, GA; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Houdeyshell was a QSA Nurse for ResCare in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Kara Phillippi officiating. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV. Audra Armelia Lanham
Audra Armelia Lanham, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born May 31, 1931 in Hall, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey B. and Myrtle Williams Wentz. On November 29, 1953 she married George James Lanham who preceded her in death on October 30, 2013. Surviving are one son, Ross W. Lanham and wife Joy of Elizabeth, WV; one granddaughter, Colleen Lanham of Athens, WV; one step granddaughter, Anessa Dille of Elizabeth; one step grandson, Jason Roberts and fianc Brandy of Elizabeth; six great grandchildren; one sister, Louella Hansford and husband Gary of Buckhannon; two sisters-in-law Tina Lanham of Williamsport, MD and Sylvia Regester and husband Garry of Buckhannon; one brother-in-law, Arthur Lanham of Elkton, MD; several nieces and nephews and her cat, Princess. Mrs. Lanham was a homemaker. Audra was a member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, a charter and honorary member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church Women and of the Mt. Nebo CEOS. Friends will be received Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 3-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon, Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Irving Humphreys
Robert Irving Humphreys, age 76, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his home. He was born December 28, 1936 in Flushing, NY, a son of the late Irving and Anna Humphreys. On September 19, 1964 he married Sheila Griffin who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Michelle Newnham and husband Michael of Lafayette, CO, Lisa Peirce and husband Leonard of Boulder, CO and Suzanne Woody and husband Gary of Morgantown, WV; two grandsons, Matthew Woody of Buckhannon and Robert Newnham of Boulder; four granddaughters, Tilia Kennedy, Jessica Peirce, and Katie Newnham all of Boulder and Natalie Woody of Buckhannon; one great grandson, Jackson Kennedy of Boulder and one sister Ruth Stoeger of Long Island, NY. Mr. Humphreys was a Retired Police Officer. A private service will be held for the family. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sally Dew Huff
Sally Dew Huff, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born January 22, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late John Finley and Betty Beaulieu Jacoby. On January 22, 1946 she married George Edward Huff who preceded her in death on May 29, 1989. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Lorraine Huff. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Creehan and husband Dennis of Buckhannon; one son, Gary D. Huff of Finleyville, PA; two grandsons, Kevin Creehan and wife Kari of Roanoke, VA and Casey Creehan and wife Lori of Winnipeg, Canada; two great grandsons, Ryan and Carson Creehan both of Roanoke and one great granddaughter, Evelyn Creehan of Roanoke. Mrs. Huff was a homemaker, a member of the Mt. Lebanon Christian Church in Pittsburgh, PA and a member of Stage 62 Theater Group. She was graduated from South Hills High School in Pittsburgh. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 23, 2013 at Mt. Lebanon Christian Church in Pittsburgh, PA. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pauline Skip Hodgkiss
Pauline Skip Hodgkiss, age 83, of San Diego, CA, where she had been residing with her son and family for the last 19 years, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Country Hills Nursing Home in San Diego. She was born July 18, 1930 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Paul C. and Hazel Lipscomb Freeman. On June 29, 1950 she married Francis Fran Hodgkiss who preceded her in death on June 28, 1990. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jane Freeman and JoAnne Rill and one brother, Brent Freeman. She is survived by one son, Rick Hodgkiss and wife Carole Beth Chamberlain of San Diego; two granddaughters, Corrin Stevens and husband Gabriel of El Cajon, CA and Tara Fitzpatrick and husband Thomas of San Diego and one great grandson, Jack Stevens of El Cajon. Mrs. Hodgkiss was a Deputy County Clerk in the Upshur County Courthouse. Pauline will be most remembered for her love of family, friends, Gods creation as well as for her unlimited generosity. A Graveside Service will be held 11 AM on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hinkleville, WV with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
