Charles Heckert
Charles Heckert, age 90, of Clarksburg, WV died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at WV Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg, WV. He was born June 26, 1924 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Guy Stacy and Vera Law Heckert. On November 27, 1982 he married Marjorie A. Palmer who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Michael Heckert and wife Melanie of Clarksburg; two daughters, Annette LePlante and husband Richard of Inverness, FL and Charlene LeClair and husband Norman of ME; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchilddren and three sisters, Maxine, Wilda and Barbara. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Charles Heckert and Darrel Heckert and one sister, Ruth. Mr. Heckert was a school teacher. He was a member of the St. Johannes Lutheran Church of St. Clair, WV. He served in the US Air Force and the US Navy during WW II & Korean War. Mr. Heckert was a member of the Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663 and Frank B. Barlett Post # 7 American Legion. He belonged to the Thomas Shryock Lodge # 223 AF & AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Heckert was a member of the Adler Society, Lions Club, American Historical Society, Augustin Society- O.A.A., Steuben Society of America, D.A.N.K., the West Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, American College of Heraldry, and the Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller (International). He received his higher education from WV Wesleyan College, Fairmont State College, WVU and Marshall University. Friends will be received Monday, December 8, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery in Lorentz, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside. Franklin Lodge # 7 AF & AM will conduct Masonic graveside rites. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John Brooks Hinkle
John Brooks Hinkle, age 64, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, February 9, 2015 at his home in Buckhannon. He was born February 17, 1950 in Buckhannon, a son of the late James Douglas Hinkle, Jr. and Maxine Fleming Hinkle of Buckhannon. On June 30, 1986 he married Verr Mullooly who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joshua Jackson Hinkle and wife Sabrina of Weston, WV; three daughters, Erin Brooke Oleksa and husband Cory of Morgantown, WV, Veronica Ann Pinch and husband Mark and Erica Dawn Nolan and husband Todd all of Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Jackson Brooks Hinkle of Weston and Owen Mark Pinch and Brody Todd Nolan both of Charlotte; five granddaughters, Paelyn Jaye Hinkle of Weston, Carson Brooke and Claire Morgan Oleksa both of Morgantown and Emmi Laine Pinch and Lila Brooke Nolan both of Charlotte; four brothers, James Douglas Hinkle III and wife Cheryl of Rocky Mount, VA, Jeffrey Craig Hinkle and fiance Annie Stimson, Michael Max Waldo and wife Ann and Mark Lee Waldo and wife Carla all of Buckhannon; one sister, Jill Ann Cable and husband Bob of Buckhannon; his maternal step grandmother, Winifred Foster Fleming of Harrisville, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Ellyn Hinkle. John was self-employed at Brooks & Co. LLC and was a licensed underground storage tank specialist. He was a Methodist by faith. John was on the City of Buckhannon Waste Dept. Board for 35 years. He was born and raised in Buckhannon and had been involved with multiple businesses. John was a genuine, honest, kind and generous man who was dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and his hometown of Buckhannon. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time on their farm with friends, family and grandchildren. He cherished time with his grandchildren, especially playing, swimming and fishing with them on the farm. Friends will be received Thursday, February, 12, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11 AM at Chapel Hill UMC with the Rev. Helen Oates officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Upshur Co. Humane Society PO Box 2292 Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Janie Lanham
Ida Janie Lanham, age 101, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, June 06, 2007 at the St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born May 21, 1906 in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Jacob and Effie Pritt Beckner. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Lanham; one step son, Charles Lanham; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Margie Zickefoose and husband Robert of Alliance, OH and Norma Lloyd and husband Charles of Buckhannon; one son, Edward Gibson and wife Lela of Alliance; one step daughter, Frances Chidester of Gaines, WV; three step sons, William Lanham and wife Sandy of Texas, Donald Lanham and wife Frances of Homeworth, OH and Ivan Eugene Lanham and wife Linda of Minerva, OH; one sister, Mattie Canter of Reidsville, NC; 170 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren and great- great- great grandchildren. Mrs. Lanham was a homemaker. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday, June 8, 2007 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 9 at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hodgesville. Margarete R. Hiner
Margarete R. Hiner, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born February 19, 1926 in Excelsior, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Ella Mae Cochran Hiner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Clarence and Ray Hiner and sisters, Eva Fallen, Pearl Fallen and Thelma Hiner. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Ann Williams and husband John of Buckhannon and Bonnie Bates and husband Richard of Warren, OH; three grandsons, Robert Stines and wife Kathy of FL, Matthew Lavalliere and wife Tiffany of Warren and Daniel Lavalliere and wife Abby of Warren; three granddaughters, Amber Schreiber and husband Bill of Warren, Lisa Beatty of AL and Cassie Ketterman and husband D.J. of Warren; one step grandson Phillip Williams and wife Kelly of Honolulu, HI; one step granddaughter, Stephanie Finn and husband Travis of Waterford, PA; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Miss Hiner was a seamstress at Reidbord Brothers for over 50 years. Friends will be received Friday 12 Noon until 2 PM the funeral hour at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pauline Laughlin Jones
Pauline Laughlin Jones, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Colonial Place in Elkins, WV. Born November 22, 1914 in Parkersburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Okey J. and Frida Fischer Laughlin. She was preceded in death by one brother, J. Harold Laughlin and one sister, Ann Laughlin Roney. She is survived by her son, J. Brooks Jones and daughter-in-law, Josette Holtzworth Jones of Buckhannon, WV and two sisters, Nancy Laughlin East of Harrisonburg, VA and Alice Laughlin White of Belpre, OH. She is also survived by granddaughter, Jennifer Jones-Ravich and her husband, Vadim, of Clifton, VA; granddaughter, Janice Jones Landshof and her husband, William, of Hilliard, OH and grandson, Jeffrey Laughlin Jones and Rayanne Harris of Breckenridge, CO. Also surviving are four great grandsons; Alexander Landshof, Charles Landshof, Wesley Ravich and Winston Ravich. For many years Mrs. Jones worked as the medical office administrator for Dr. E. C. Hartman in Parkersburg. She retired in 1986 from the Foreign Claims Division of the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD. She was a life-long member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, and was a graduate of Parkersburg High School. She also graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College where she was a member of the Colleges Emeritus Club, the Wesleyan Society and a former member of the West Virginia Wesleyan College Alumni Council. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007at 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon with the Rev. Harold Elmore officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral time. Burial will be in the Lubeck Cemetery in Lubeck, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 19th Street & Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101 or to the Jones and Holtzworth Scholarship Fund at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Jimmy O. Linger
Jimmy O. Linger, age 64, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, March 9, 2007 at Fairmont General Hospital in Fairmont, WV. He was born February 8, 1943 in Lewis County, WV, a son of the late French and Ressie Shoulders Linger. On December 1, 1963 he married Thelma Bennett, who survives. Also surviving are, four sons, French, Isaac and Brian Linger, all of Buckhannon and Jimmy Linger, Jr. of Good Hope, WV; two daughters, Cynthia and Lori Linger, both of Buckhannon; one grandson, Travis Mallett of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Amy and Clarissa Linger, both of Buckhannon and Paris Linger of Lewis County; three brothers, Ralph Linger of Weston, WV, Norman Linger of Buckhannon and Carl Linger of Letter Gap, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Linger and three sisters, Norma Campbell, Joann Starcher and Louise Hefner. Mr. Linger was a Health Service Worker at William R. Sharp Hospital in Weston and a member of the Message of Light Tabernacle in Weston, FOE Lodge # 4357 and Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598. Friends will be received from 4-9 PM, Monday, March 12, 2007 at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Theresa Henline
Theresa Henline, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born November 17, 1919 in Century I, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ann DeFrancisco DeRico. On January 2, 1943 she married Earl Franklin Henline who preceded her in death on December 31, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Angelo, Bill, Raymond and Lebro DeRico, also one sister, Edna Coughlin. She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Henline of Buckhannon; one son, John Joseph Henline and wife Janice of New Market, VA; four grandsons, Sean and Little John Henline both of Hagerstown, MD, Michael Reger of Shinnston, WV and Christopher Reger of Morgantown, WV; one granddaughter, April Henline of Burtonsville, MD; four great-grandsons, Christian and Trey Henline both of Hagerstown and Jacob and Dylan Antone both of Burtonsville; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Mikala both of Hagerstown; one sister, Mary Slaughter of Shinnston and two brothers, Guy DeRico of Buckhannon and Leonard J. DeRico of West Farmington, OH and a Special Thank You to Helen Shields. Mrs. Henline was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She worked for C & P Telephone Company in the Maintenance Department. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, WV. Chandler Andrew Oberg
Chandler Andrew Oberg, age 22 months, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born October 26, 2008 in Providence, RI a son of Charles Oberg of Buckhannon. In addition to his father he is survived by one sister Cara Jade Oberg of Buckhannon and paternal grandparents David and Amy Page Oberg of Barrington, RI. Friends will be received Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 10 -11 AM at the Horizons Church in Tennerton, WV. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the church with Pastor Dave Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Ronnie Allan Landis
Ronnie Allan Landis, age 63, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born November 8, 1946 in Randolph, Co., WV a son of the late Sterling Noble and Geneva Dee Bostick Landis. He is survived by three daughters, Annett Lynn Herron, Marie Ann Conley and Loretta Kay Flowers and Husband Samuel all of Buckhannon; two sons, Ronnie Junior Landis and wife Angel and Robert Landis both of Buckhannon; 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; two sisters Weva Lantz and husband Doyle of Buckhannon and June Herron and husband Bill of Tallmansville, WV; one brother, Larry Landis and wife Shirley of Tallmansville, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Helen Corica and five brothers, Gary and Steve Landis, Max, Raymond, and Charles Bostick. Mr. Landis had worked in a sawmill as a laborer. Friends will be received Friday, October 8, 2010 from 1 to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Friday, at the funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Deuley Family Cemetery at Vegan, WV. Boyd "Bill" Willis Herron
Boyd Bill Willis Herron, age 68, Queens, WV, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at his home. He was born September 13, 1946 in Monongah, WV a son of the late Leonard Willis and Teresa Mae Hartley Herron. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Wilkes, sister-in-law, Joann Herron, brother-in-law Rod Kelley. On August 16, 1966 he married Carolyn June Landis Herron who survives. Also surviving are six sons, Ricky Herron and wife Angie of Queens, WV, Timothy Herron and wife Sue of Hemlock, WV, Kenneth Herron and wife Ginny of Queens, Kevin Herron and wife Susie of Buckhannon, WV, Christopher Herron and wife Jamie of French Creek, WV and Billy Herron and wife Erin of Buckhannon; five grandsons, Rick Herron, Ethan and wife Jerika Herron and Andrew Herron all of Queens, WV, Tyler and Jake Summerfield of Philippi, WV; eight granddaughters, Briana Herron, Tonjia Herron, Kaitlyn Herron all of Queens, WV; Miranda Brooks of Hemlock, WV, Brooklyn Herron and Autumn Herron of Beckley, WV, Olivia Herron of French Creek, Elaney Herron of Buckhannon; one great grandson, Briston Herron; three brothers, Eugene Herron, John Herron and significant other Shirley Boman, Dwight Ike Herron all of Buckhannon; five sisters, Mabel and husband Elmer Kelley of Tallmansville, Linda Kelley and Emma Zickefoose and husband Ralph all of Buckhannon, Hilda and husband Charles Wagoner of Queens and Brenda DeMoss and husband Carroll of French Creek. Mr. Herron was retired from the City of Buckhannon Waste Department after 32 years of service. He loved his family, fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 11 AM to 1 PM the funeral hour, with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Cashues 'Cash' Lanham
Cashues 'Cash' Lanham, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice and his loving family. He was born November 9, 1923 in Volga, WV, a son of the late Luther and Edna Skidmore Lanham. On February 2, 1973 he married Carol Ann Williams who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Christine Marie Hull and husband Brian and Cheryl Hoffman all of Buckhannon; grandson, Zachary D. Hull of Buckhannon; one brother, Warren Lanham and wife Sylvia of Philippi, WV; two sisters, Imogene Fleming of Louisville, KY and Dorothy Wagoner of Albuquerque, NM and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Hoffman; six brothers, James, Bernard, Herbert, Okey, Marvin and Carl Lanham and three sisters, Gladys Mauer, Kathleen Casto and Deloris Lanham. Cash was a Master Brick and Stone Mason and a Christian by faith. Memorial service will be held 7 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Full Gospel Church on Island Ave., with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
