Daniel Ralph Hanline
Daniel Ralph Hanline, age 25, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on September 4, 1983 the son of George Hanline of Buckhannon and Donna Orsburn of French Creek, WV who survive. In addition to his parents he is survived by aunts and uncles, Diana Dee and Denzil Hanline of Volga, WV, Philip and Erma Hanline of French Creek, Stanley and Faye Hanline of French Creek, Joyce and Ruben Wilfong of Buckhannon, Bob and Nellie Orsburn of Shinnston, WV, and Linda and Denzil Frederick of Volga; best friend Robert Snyder of Buckhannon and several cousins. Mr. Hanline was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ralph and Wilma Jean Orsburn; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Carrie Hanline and aunt and uncle, Sue and Larry Bailey. He was a caregiver for Res Care and was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed all outdoor activities. Friends will be received Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow at the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Edna Iona Harris
Edna Iona Harris, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born November 23, 1937 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Ancil C. and Edna R. Fortney Kesling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George V. Harris who died on July 9, 2002 and one brother, Raymond Kesling. She is survived by four sons, Brad Kesling and wife Sandy of Jane Lew, WV, George B. Harris, David Harris and wife Lori and Kevin Harris all of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Jimmie Kesling of Buckhannon and Brad Kesling of Jane Lew; five granddaughters, Tommie Loudin of Seneca, WV, Iona Squeek Harris, Stormy Harris, Autumn Harris and Georgeanna Harris all of Buckhannon; great grandsons, Christian, Dameon, Doniven, Zebulan and Luke; great granddaughters, Zoe, Jade, Laiken and Halley; one brother, Ancil Junior Kesling and wife Wanda of Buckhannon; sisters, Twila Hume and husband Charles of Buckhannon and Helen Davis and husband Art of Brunswick, OH and brother in law, Raymond Vawter of Moundsville, WV. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a United Brethren by faith. Friends will be received Friday, February 13, 2009 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Kesling Cemetery at Kesling Mill, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Clinton Lynn Mick
Clinton Lynn Mick, age 65, of Hackers Creek Road, Buckhannon, WV departed this life November 26, 2014. Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hicks Mick. They celebrated 30 years of marriage. He was born January 7, 1949 on Hackers Creek to the late Felton Scott and Dorsey Hinkle Mick. Clint is survived by three sons, Ronnie, Stewart Mullens and Robert Bobby Rogers all of Hackers Creek; one daughter, Linda Rogers Arbogast and husband Roger of Horner, WV; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Caroline Fern Jones of New Philadelphia, OH and Shirley Messenger and husband Jim of Berlin, WV; one brother, Rev. Billee Scott Mick of Buckhannon; Brothers-in-law, Larry Furr of Hackers Creek, James Steve Hicks of Volga, WV, Mike and wife Yukie Hicks of Jane Lew, WV and Robert Bud Hicks and wife Barbara of Grottoes, VA; sisters-in-law, Carol Annie Higgins and husband George of FL, Carolyn Susie Campbell and husband Steve of Buckhannon, Margie Mick, Spartanburg, SC, Lumina Mick, Perry Hall of Maryland, Linda Mick Chapman of Hackers Creek. In addition to his wife Alice, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Lea Rogers Howard; his brothers, George O. Mick, Felton Jr. Skip Mick, Thomas O. Mick and infant brother, Jesse A. Mick and his sisters, Millie Adams, Betty M. Furr and one sister-in-law, Oleta Mick, one nephew, Christopher Mick and brother-in-laws, Donald Lynn Hicks, Franklin Eugene Hicks and William Whimpy Hicks. Clint served 13 months in the Vietnam War as a rifleman with the First Cavalry Division (air mobile) in 1969. He was in many major battles there and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed at Corhart Refactories in Buckhannon until he retired after 30 plus years of service. He was faithful and active member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Hackers Creek where he served on the board of trustees as Financial Secretary for many years. Clint was a great story teller and will long be remembered by his family and friends for his stories. He often acted out as he told them, especially the ones of Vietnam. He was also known for his very dry wit. Clint was always ready and willing to give a helping hand to his family, friends, neighbors or anyone in need. He lived his Christian Faith. He loved his family, friends, dogs, horses, muscle cars, working, reading and visiting friends and family and he loved to work on his farm. Clint also loved and took exceptional care of his wife before her passing but mostly Clint will be remembered for being the Dad he didnt have to be. We are all so blessed to have had him for his 65 years. Friends will be received Friday, May 29, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald C. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the McVaney Cemetery in Hackers Creek. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside. Anyone wishing to make donations in memory of Clint can do so to the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon or to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in c/o Julia Marple. Virginia Ann Hall
Virginia Ann Hall, age 81, of the Hall Road, Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi, WV. She was born August 15, 1927 in Ambridge, PA, a daughter of the late Stephen and Teresa Radabaugh Miller. On April 8, 1943 she married Joseph L. Hall who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joseph S. Hall and wife Janet of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Ellen Foster and husband Travis of Barboursville, WV; one grandson, Jacob Hall of Buckhannon and one brother, John Miller of Ambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Markle and Betty Hoffman and one brother, Robert Miller. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker, a member of VFW Post #3663 Ladies Auxiliary and a Lutheran by faith. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Vernon Monroe Hart
Vernon Monroe Hart, age 66, of Lost Creek, WV died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born December 16, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Grover and Beulah Rucker Hart. He is survived by a daughter, Carrie Dawn Hart and fiance Chris Cox of Nutter Fort, WV; a son, Robert Monroe Hart of Lost Creek; a grandson, Christopher LaDainian Cox of Nutter Fort; a brother, Thomas Hart and wife Marie of Morgantown; a sister, Shirley Bunner and husband Hobert of Bridgeport, WV; three aunts Willa Jean Caynor of Buckhannon, WV, Lou Hart of Elkins, WV and Willa Waybright of Baltimore and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a school teacher in Harrison County, WV and was awarded membership in the National Leadership Honor Society Omicron Delta Kappa from WV Wesleyan College. He graduated from Wesleyan with a Bachelors Degree in English and received a Masters Degree Plus 30 in English from WV University. A graveside service will be conducted 2 PM Monday, May 25, 2009 by Rev. Donald Butcher at the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior, WV. Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna Fay Landis
Donna Fay Landis, age 55, of Volga, WV, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born June 30, 1957, a daughter of the late Arlene Coberly. On March 10, 1986 she married Robert Landis, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Angel Howell of Volga and Elizabeth Tincher of WV; one son, Robert Landis, Jr. of Elkins, WV; two granddaughters, Seneca and Charnai Howell, both of Volga; one grandson, Hunter Howell of Volga; three sisters, Linda Hisson and husband Dave of Randolph Co., WV and Nancy and Hilda and one brother, Johnny Coberly and wife Elaine of Jimtown, WV. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tim Finchman and Robin Landis. Mrs. Landis was a homemaker. Friends will be received from 12-2 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses. Betty Lee McCray
Betty Lee McCray, age 64, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born September 5, 1943 in Fenton, DE, a daughter of the late Laverne Hickman. On April 8, 1961 she married Robert McCray who survives. In addition to her husband she is survived by one uncle, Charles Erlenmeyer & wife Joan of Spring Hope, NC and several cousins. Mrs. McCray was a cook at the Senior Center and a member of the Buckhannon Congregation Jehovahs Witnesses. Memorial Services will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Buckhannon Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses with the Brother Gary Pyles officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Bell Hamner
Anna Bell Hamner, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born September 15, 1937 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Clyde Burton and Stella Katherine Wilfong Casto. On April 6, 1957 she married Donald Ray Hamner who preceded her in death on October 8, 1969. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sue Farnsworth and Donna Lower; an infant son; three grandsons, Scotty and Doug Farnsworth and Titus Hamner; one sister, Ellie Burr; three brothers, Dennis, James Homer and Robert Dode Casto and Tony Willis fianc of Shirley Hamner. She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Loudin and husband Ted of Buckhannon, Kathy Brewer and husband Greg of Catlettsburg, KY and Shirley Hamner of Anchorage, AK; two sons, Randy Hamner of Buckhannon and Steve Hamner and wife Kimberly of Buckhannon; two sisters, Rosie Love and husband Maynard of OH and Betty Reeves of VA; one brother, Bill Casto and wife Creola of Painesville, OH; two son in laws, Ed Farnsworth and Ed Lower both of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Shawn and Jamie Farnsworth both of Buckhannon, Shannon Loudin and wife Sabrina of Buckhannon, Dusty Loudin and wife Missy of Buckhannon, Scott Brewer and fiance Kristen Duty of Catlettsburg, Tyler Brewer of Catlettsburg and Tyson Hamner of Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Sherry Claypool and husband Benji of Buckhannon, Tiffany Hamner of Buckhannon, Latisha Tenney and husband Jason of Buckhannon and Tabitha Hamner and fianc Brian Phillips of Buckhannon and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hamner was a homemaker and a Baptist by Faith. She loved her family. Friends will be received Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Elbon Cemetery at Sago, WV. Mabel Ellenor Martin
Mabel Ellenor Martin, age 96, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, November 3, 2008 at Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, WV. She was born May 20, 1912 in Holly Grove, WV, a daughter of the late William Brown and Lucretia Curry Sayre. On February 6, 1938 she married Orza J. Martin who preceded her in death on December 20, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Brooks Sayre and one sister, Cozbi Chandler. She is survived by one son, David Martin and wife Barbara of Emmitsburg, MD; two daughters, Linda Martin of Lake Placid, FL and Lois Chichester of Vienna, WV; one grandson, Scott Chichester of Vienna; four granddaughters, Pamela Travis of Mineral Wells, WV, Brenda Wix of Vienna, Marianne Kreiner of Germantown, MD and Aimee Martin of Emmitsburg; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Juanita Linger of Frederick, MD. Mrs. Martin was a school teacher for the Upshur County Board of Education. She was a member of the Upshur County retired school employees, the Upshur County Historical Society, a former homemaker extension worker and helped establish 4H Clubs and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Friends will be received Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Point Pleasant Church Cemetery at Abbott, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Opal Harper
Opal Harper, age 87, of Norton, WV and more recently Elkins Regional Convalescent Center in Elkins, WV died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She was born May 29, 1922 in Ten Mile, WV, a daughter of the late William and Frances Tenney Russell. On April 28, 1946 she married Khlar Harper who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David L. Harper and wife Linda of Elkins and Ron Harper and wife Hope of Buckhannon, WV; two grandsons, Bryant T. Harper of Elkins and Steven Harper of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Julie Bennett of Buckhannon and Amy Wamsley and husband Jerry of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Madison Wamsley of Buckhannon and Darby Harper of Dailey, WV; three sisters, Myrtle Kelley and Dellia Hoover both of Tallmansville, WV and Evelyn Winkler of Buckhannon; three brothers, Garnet Russell and wife Madeline of Ellamore, WV, Grover Russell and wife Etta Jo of Tallmansville and Nelson Russell and wife Mary of Tallmansville; a sister in law, Eva Russell of Buckhannon and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Reta Zirkle and Adeline Russell and two brothers, Bradford Abe Russell and Daniel Russell. Mrs. Harper was an Inspector of Reidbords Brothers and was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park at Tennerton, WV. Rev. Marianna Harr
Rev. Marianna Harr, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at her home. She was born September 5, 1926 at Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Brooks F. and Hallie Mae Malone Harr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Smith, Marjorie Miles and Jean Hobbs; a special niece, Sylvia Summerfield and a niece, Eleanor Menendez. She is survived by a special niece, Mary Foppiano of Clarksburg; two nieces, Margie Schoenauer of Saint Petersburg, FL and Sylvia Holloway of Inverness, FL and five nephews, Joseph, Tom and Bill Hobbs all of Ft. Wayne, IN, Dennis Cunningham of Atlanta, GA and Butch Smith of Lost Creek, WV. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon. She taught the Wesley Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Early Birds Prayer Circle. She worked as a Payroll Clerk for Pittston Coal Company and worked for the Buckhannon Housing Authority. She also served as a local pastor in several churches in Upshur County. Friends will be received Monday, November 23, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hill Memorial Gardens at Quiet Dell, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
