George Bertsil Hawkins
George Bertsil Hawkins, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home. He was born August 6, 1926 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Denzil Luther and Dolly Belle Tenney Hawkins. On July 2, 1944 he married Marguerite Kimble who preceded him in death on October 1, 2005. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Landis; one great granddaughter, Haley Durham and three sisters, Wilda Kimble, Wanda Tenney and Tina Hawkins. Surviving are three sons, Kevin Hawkins and wife Vicky and Randy Hawkins and wife Mary all of Buckhannon and Eugene Hawkins and wife Linda Dianne of Stanley, NC; one grandson whom he raised as a son, Michael Joseph Joey Landis of Buckhannon; two daughters, Lenora Gifford and husband Ron of Buckhannon and Karen Day of West Jefferson, NC; one son-in-law, Tom Landis of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Christopher Gifford and wife Pam of Thomasville, PA, Timothy Hawkins and wife Evelyn of Charlotte, NC, Nicholas Hawkins and wife Letetia of Buckhannon, David Hawkins and wife Lee of Hickory, NC, Charlie Landis and wife Addie of Hodgesville, WV, Dustin Quick of West Jefferson and Daniel Rogers of Clover, SC; seven granddaughters, Michele Iglesias and husband Andy of Greenville, NC, Samantha Wilfong and husband Nicholas of French Creek, WV, Stephanie Hawkins, Danielle Bennett and Abbie Bennett-Hawkins all of Buckhannon and Tabitha Taylor of Stanley and Crystal Davis of Charlotte and one special friend June Augustine Schafers of Buckhannon. Mr. Hawkins was a Foreman for the DOH. He was a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church and the Odd Fellows. George was a long tie vendor at the Farmers Market. Friends will be received Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Khlar E. Harper
Khlar E. Harper, age 95, of Elkins, WV died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Nellas Nursing Home in Elkins. He was born December 29, 1919 in Harman, WV, a son of the late Fred and Cynthia Judy Harper. On April 28, 1946 he married Opal Russell who preceded him in death on October 20, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Wade and one brother, Carl Harper. He is survived by two sons, David Harper and wife Linda of Elkins and Ron Harper and wife Hope of Buckhannon, WV; two grandsons, Bryant Harper of Petersburg, WV and Steven Harper of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Julie Bennett of Buckhannon and Amy Wamsley and husband Jerry of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Madison Wamsley of Buckhannon and Darby Harper of Davisville, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harper worked on the Railroad as a Lineman and was a Christian by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Frank W. Harper
Frank W. Harper, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born September 23, 1944 in Buckhannon, the son of the late Charles W. and Ruby Alkire Harper. Mr. Harper is survived by his two sons Mike and Chuck. Frank was a lifelong member of the Childers Run Community. He retired from Patriot Coal and prior to that he worked at Moore Business Forms. Mr. Harper was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #598. Frank was an avid football fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Harper loved to bowl and won the Senior State Championship for WV. He was an active member of the Sand Run Baptist Church. Friends will be received Friday, June 26, 2015 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service for the family at the Mt. Hermon Church Cemetery with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dewey Ron Hamilton
Dewey Ron Hamilton, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his home. He was born March 23, 1941 in Northfork, WV, a son of the late Hubert and Argie Clark Hamilton. On January 12, 1963 he married Barbara Gooden who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Hamilton and Matt Shepherd of Leonardtown, MD and Jennifer Keehlwetter and husband Michael of Darien, CT; one grandson, Seth Keehlwetter of Darien; three granddaughters, Lily, Anna and Elsa Keehlwetter all of Darien; three brothers, Clinton Hamilton and wife Linda and Vinton Hamilton and wife Donna all of Pineville, WV and Rodney Hamilton and wife Drema of Beckley, WV; five sisters, Darisue Gilmore of Florence, KY, Edna Maxine White of Cincinnati, OH, Delores Prichard of Johns Island, SC, Debbie Jones and husband Bill of Ronceverte, WV and Darlene Tilley and husband Bobby of Castlewood, VA and several nieces and nephews. Ron was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon. He loved to sing and he belonged to the Barber Shop Chorus in Sebring, FL. Mr. Hamilton was retired from the FBI. Friends will be received Monday, August 17, 2015 from 10 AM 1 PM at the First Baptist Church where a funeral service will be at 1 PM with Pastor Jay Teodoro and the Rev. Dr. Stanley Keehlwetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.stjude.org. in memory of Ron. Pamela Kay 'Buckshot' Hayes
Pamela Kay 'Buckshot' Hayes, age 44, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born June 18, 1971 in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of Madeline Gould Arbogast Peyatt of French Creek, WV and the late Charles Ray Arbogast. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her step father, Orval Peyatt of French Creek; friend, Debra Dillow and husband Walter of Buckhannon; three sons, Shawn Michael Watson and fiance, Amanda Kyle of Elkins, WV, Mark Watson and wife Dawna of Huttonsville, WV and Kevin Watson and wife Ashley of Mill Creek, WV; one daughter, Erica Watson of Hagerstown, MD; six grandsons, John Pritt of WV, Drayden Watson of Elkins, Julius Watson of Mill Creek, WV, Brentley Watson of Huttonsville, Jordan Watson of WV and Peyton Watson of Mill Creek; four granddaughters, Kylie Watson of Huttonsville, Destinee and Desiree Watson both of Elkins and Layla Watson of Mill Creek; three brothers, Charles Arbogast, Jr. and wife Tina of TN, Homer Peyatt of French Creek, Jonathan Peyatt and wife Kathy of Buckhannon; four sisters, Cathy Arbogast of OH, Helen Arbogast, Judy MacMaster and husband Robert and Ivy Smith and husband Ron all of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Pamela was a homemaker. Friends will be received Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Bessie Virginia Kimble
Bessie Virginia Kimble, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born November 20, 1917 in Landis, WV, a daughter of the late Kenny and Etta Lambert Alt. On December 24, 1938 she married Herman L. Kimble who preceded her in death on January 18, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Albert Alt. She is survived by three sons, Wayne Kimble and wife Diane, Jerry Kimble and wife Patty and William Kimble and wife Sharon all of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Rodney Kimble of Philippi, WV and J.B. Kimble and Jimmy Kimble both of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Becky Rowan and Anna Leigh Rice both of Buckhannon and Laura Chenoweth of Beverly, WV; one great-grandson, Isaac; five great-granddaughters, Emily, Desiree, Kassidy, Taylor and Jansen and one sister, Elsie Hedrick of Petersburg, WV. Mrs. Kimble was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 50 Year Member of United Methodist Women and former Treasurer of AARP for several years. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Also Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens in Petersburg. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Irene G. Lemley
Irene G. Lemley, age 93, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born January 29, 1918 in Webster County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Cora Belle Sparks Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Kermon Lemley who died on December 27, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Carlos Brown. She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Snyder and husband Richard of Charlotte, NC, Sandra Sue Boni and husband Terrence of Charleroi, PA, Karon King and husband Ross L. of Buckhannon and Lynelle Marie Lemley of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Lisa Dawn Snyder of Charlotte, Leah Boni of Greensburg, PA, Robin Nicodemus of Monessen, PA, Debora Lynn Foster of Buckhannon and Vickie Rae Mason and husband Todd of Fincastle, VA; one grandson, David King and wife Anita of Buckhannon and three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters. Mrs. Lemley was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. David Lee Ingram
David Lee Ingram, age 60, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his home. He was born September 29, 1955 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of Freeman and Margie Hyre Ingram of Clarksburg. On January 1, 2010 he married Cathy Bennett who survives. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by one son, David Ingram and wife Melissa of Clarksburg; one daughter, Stacy Prescott and husband Trevor of Vero Beach, FL; two step daughters, Vanessa Perkins and husband Jeffrey and Heather Wilkins and husband Mike all of Buckhannon; six grandsons, Nicholas Anderson, Gage Raschella, Hunter Wilkins and Hayes Perkins all of Buckhannon and Braiden Ingram and Gage Hardman both of Clarksburg; six granddaughters, Destenee Wilkins, Adalyn Perkins and Kati Boone and husband Jared all of Buckhannon and Emily, Alexandra and Brooklyn Prescott all of Vero Beach; one great-grandson, Colton Boone of Buckhannon; one brother, Richard Ingram and wife Stephanie of Vero Beach and two nieces both of Vero Beach. Mr. Ingram was a retired US Postal Service Worker and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Clarksburg. Friends will be received Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Plum officiating. Burial will in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Carole June Melton Klosterboer
Carole June Melton Klosterboer, 66, of Escondido, California, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at her home. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia in Kanawha County, on April 26, 1941, a daughter of the late Mont Clarence Melton, Jr., and Ruth Cutright Melton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl David Melton. She is survived by her two sons, James Grey Klosterboer and wife Elizabeth, of Miamisburg, Ohio and David Charles Klosterboer of Escondido, and a special friend, Colleen. Two sisters, Barbara Teets of San Marcos, Texas, and Dr. Ragina Copeland of Powhatan, Virginia and a special cousin, Dr. Lynn Cartwright of Grafton, also survive. Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews survive as well. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the class of 1959. Sometime later, she enjoyed participating as a princess in the Strawberry Festival Parade and festivities. She was a homemaker whose home was open to family and friends. She delighted in taking visitors on sight-seeing tours in the Escondido and San Diego area. She was loved by the young children for whom she cared in her home, when their parents were away. She will be missed by her friends in a sewing circle she attended, and others with whom she associated. She also spent a great deal of time visiting and seeing to the needs of special friends in nursing homes. On Thursday, January 17, 2008, friends will be received for a viewing in Escondido. On Sunday, January 20, 2008, 11:00 is a tentative time for friends to be received for a viewing at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM with the Doctor Lynn Cartwright officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Pleasant Dale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to West Virginia University Parkersburg Foundation designated for the Ruth Melton Scholarship Fund, 300 Campus Drive, Parkersburg, WV 26104, in memory of Carole.

Willard L. 'Bill' Kelley
Willard L. 'Bill' Kelley, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV, was in failing health but death was unexpected, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at his home. He was born July 19, 1927 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Clarence and Beatrice White Kelley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step father, Lewis Barrickman and sisters, Norma Wamsley, Shirley Zavatsky, Bernedine Feathers and Emmett Barrickman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; step son, Donnie Ross & wife Cathy; step daughter, Melanie Wells and husband Jim; daughters, Kathy Elliott and Patricia Peno; step granddaughters and grandchildren. Bill was a member of Masonic Temple, Buckhannon Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, First United Methodist Church, Buckhannon Housing Authority of which he was a founding member, a member of the WV Auto Dealers Association, a member of St. Joseph's Hospital board of directors, Lions Club and many civic organizations and a former member of the Upshur Development Authority. He was a former co-owner with Bill McKnight of an ice cream store and mobile home sales. Mr. Kelley owned and operated Bill Kelley Chevrolet on Main St. Buckhannon for many years and recently Kelley Motors in Elkins, WV. Friends will be received Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon from 4-9 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes and the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. State Memorial Gardens in Elkins, Monday at 2 PM. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bud Knight
Bud Knight, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born January 30, 1934 in Braxton County, WV, a son of the late Glen Wesley and Mamie Mae Fisher Knight. On August 12, 1995 he married Joan E. Clatterbuck who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his first wife, Sheril Casto Knight Chavis of Buckhannon; two sons, Buddy Knight of Fairmont, WV and David Vincent Knight and wife Rebecca of Elkins, WV; one step-son, Michael McCardle and wife Amy of Buckhannon; one step-daughter, Joan Travis of Buckhannon; four brothers, Charles Knight of Colton, CA, Dale Knight and wife Rose of Buckhannon, Gale Knight of Garrettsville, OH and Gilbert Knight of Buckhannon; three sisters, Virginia Moore of Greenville, TX, Elsie Smith and husband Paul of Buckhannon and Myrtle Shipman and husband John of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Autumn Knight and Katie Knight both of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Brandon Knight of Buckhannon and Sylas Knight of Fairmont, WV; one grandchild and one great-grandchild on the way; three step-grandsons, Michael Woodruff, John Perrine and Rascal McCardle all of Buckhannon and four step-granddaughters, Brook McCardle, Nichole Perrine and Elizabeth Woodruff all of Buckhannon and Courtnie Ross of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one stepson, Steven R. McCardle; two brothers, James and Kenneth Knight and four sisters, Susie Goodwin, Hazel Knight, Mildred Knight and Judy K. Heater. Mr. Knight was a laborer for Harmon George Electric. He was baptized on March 20, 2005 and was a member of the Way of Holiness Church and the Christian Motorcycle Association. Friends will be received Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 1:30 to 3 PM at the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Sunday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
