Rev. Lejeune Lewis
Rev. Lejeune Lewis, age 89, of Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Serenity Care Home. He was born December 22, 1923 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Carl Raymond and Gladys Perry Lewis. On August 24, 1947 he married Gail Wilfong who preceded him in death on July 15, 2004. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Perry Carl Pug Lewis and one sister, Betty Ann Lewis. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Smith and husband Gregory of Montrose, WV; one son, David Lewis and wife Pam of Eleanor, WV; one granddaughter, Michelle Lewis and friend Jerry Crawford of Groveport, OH; two grandsons, Stephen Lewis and wife Olivia of Clarksburg, WV and David Califf, II and wife Teea of Pottsville, PA; three great granddaughters, Makayla Smith and Mariyah Crawford both of Groveport and Hailey Califf of Pottsville; three great grandsons, Jeremiah Lewis of Clarksburg, Logan Califf of Pottsville and Jerelle Crawford of Groveport; one step grandson, Todd Slack and wife Barbie of Charleston, WV; three step granddaughters, Micah Moore and husband Jody of Red House, WV, Lauren Evans and husband Derek of Bridgeport, WV and Christina Smith of Morgantown, WV; several step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Lewis was a member and chaplain of American Legion Post # 44 of Philippi, WV. He was associated with Boy Scouts of America since 1936 and was an Eagle Scout. He attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and served in the US Navy during WWII. Rev. Lewis graduated from WVWC in 1949 and United Theological Seminary in 1952 and received his Master of Divinity Degree in 1972. He was a member of the WV Conference of the United Methodist Church from 1948 to present and served as Pastor for numerous churches. He also served in many civic organizations. There was no one that Lejeune didnt love or care about. Friends will be received Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley and Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Shreve officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 and # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Annabell Florence Lipps
Annabell Florence Lipps, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her home while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. She was born August 1, 1929 in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Virgil Jay and Ora Wilmoth Spore. On March 25, 1953 she married Riley Blaine Mutt Lipps, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 22, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Riffle and Daniel Joseph Lipps; two daughters, Barbara Cottrill and Annamae Lipps; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Raymond Spore and two sisters, Rita Lowther and Mabel Lough. She is survived by six sons, Virgil Daniel Lipps, Riley Lipps, Jr., Bernie Lipps and wife Mary and Woody Riffle and wife Barbara all of Buckhannon, Ernest Lipps of Gassaway, WV and Riley Roscoe Eugene Crow Lipps and wife Deborah of Century, WV; two daughters, Mary Perrine and husband Jack of Century and Faye Zirkle and husband Sam of Beverly, WV; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-eight great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Jay Bud Spore of Hackers Creek, WV; one sister, Virgie Landers of Buckhannon and special friends, Leona Smith and James Wilmoth both of Buckhannon. Mrs. Lipps worked at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Housekeeping. She was Pentecostal by faith and was a student of the literacy volunteer. Friends will be received Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterson Cemetery in Weston, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Virginia Linger
Ida Virginia Linger, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born June 26, 1922 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude Canfield Wheeler. On December 15, 1956 she married William H. Linger who preceded her in death on November 14, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Noel and Robert Wheeler. She is survived by one daughter, Rosemary Huffman and husband Gary Crites of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Huffman and wife Jennifer of Burleson, TX; one great granddaughter, Hannah Bell of Burleson and three great grandsons, A.J., Koby and Guerlain Huffman all of Burleson. Mrs. Linger was an Operator for B & O and C & O Railroads and had done volunteer work at the St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 10-11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Phyllis Jane Linger
Phyllis Jane Linger, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her home. She was born May 9, 1938 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Boyd and Sarah Ramsey Alkire. On June 10, 1959 she married Edward L. Linger who survives. Also surviving is one son, Eddie Phillip Linger and wife Crystal of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Harley and Presley Linger both of Buckhannon; two brothers, Boyd Alkire, Jr. of NC and Dallas Alkire of Harrisonburg, VA and special caregiver, Shelli Burnside of French Creek, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Long and two brothers, Eugene and Denzil Alkire. Mrs. Linger was born in Upshur County and raised in Lorentz, WV. She worked at Central National Bank for 18 years and was Vice President of Linger Trucking. She was a member of the Lorentz United Methodist Church and attended Light Chapel Church. Friends will be received Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgetown Church Cemetery in Georgetown, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret Jane 'Peggy' Loudin
Margaret Jane 'Peggy' Loudin, age 69, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born April 24, 1944 in Brownsville, PA, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Dryburgh Palmer. On May 1, 1965 she married Jerry L. Loudin who preceded her in death on January 6, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Pete Palmer. She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Loudin of Buckhannon; two sons, Jerry L. Loudin, Jr. and wife Erin of Weston, WV and Joe Loudin of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Sara and Samantha Loudin and Isabella Posey, all of Weston, Leah Wolfe of Buckhannon and McKenzie Loudin of Charlotte, NC; four grandsons, Seth Posey of Weston, Jacob and Josh Loudin and Edward Jace Griffith, Jr., all of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Gavin Wolfe of Buckhannon and Christopher Mason Woody of Weston; one great-granddaughter, Maggie Jane Woody of Weston and one sister, Patricia Priloh of Brownsville, PA. Peggy was a secretary for the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598. She was a member of Women of the Moose. Friends will be received Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Waldeck Cemetery at Pricetown, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Edith Logsdon
Edith Logsdon, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born November 12, 1929. She was a descendant of pioneer families in Marshall County, the daughter of the late Harry and Olive Campbell Logsdon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Virginia and foster parents, Dr. Ralph G. Cutright, MD and wife Byrd Rohrbough Cutright. She is survived by many cousins. Edith had careers in education, banking and social services, mainly in Florida. She was a graduate of Moundsville High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College, a post graduate of Florida State University and the University of Florida. She traveled extensively and enjoyed family, friends, gardening and many hobbies. Edith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, Circle 2, Buckhannon Women's Club and The Fostoria Glass Society of America. She was also a former secretary of WV Wesleyan Emeritus Club, President of the College Club and Vice President of Teter C.E.O.S. There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the discretion of the family with a burial at the Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave, WV.

Lorna Westfall Linger
Lorna Westfall Linger, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born February 5, 1928 in Hampton, WV, a daughter of the late H.S. Westfall and Clarice M. Ireland Westfall Radcliff. On September 24, 1950 she married William J. Butch Linger who preceded her in death on December 29, 2003. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Bessie Westfall and her nephew, Gary Westfall. She is survived by one son, William J. Linger, II and wife Lynn Walton Linger of Buckhannon; two grandsons, William J. Linger, III and wife Skye of Buckhannon and Nathan Gower and wife Melina of Rio Rico, AZ; one granddaughter, Heather Gibson and husband Bo of Fairmont, WV; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Garrett Westfall of McLean, VA; two cousins, Margaret A. Walls and Robert Ireland both of Buckhannon;. Mrs. Linger was chief operator for C&P Telephone Company and a Methodist by faith and she was a 1945 graduate from BUHS. A memorial service will be held 10 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Poling-St. Clair with Rev. Steve Meadow officiating. Burial will be in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Educational Fund at First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St., Buckhannon, WV. 26201 Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bernard Jay 'Bernie' Mac Lipps
Bernard Jay 'Bernie' Mac Lipps, age 48, of Buckhannon, WV went home to be with the Lord while under the care of Peoples Hospice, Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was born August 11, 1965 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Riley and Annabell Spore Lipps. On October 29, 1995 he married Mary Jane Landis who survives. Also surviving are on son, David Lipps of Buckhannon; two step sons, John and Chris Dean of Buckhannon; one grandson, Domanic James Lipps of Weston, WV; one granddaughter, Lillian Paige Lipps of Buckhannon; two sisters, Mary Perrine of Century, WV and Faye Zirkle of Beverly, WV; five brothers, Blaine Lipps of Buckhannon, Ernie Lipps of Gassaway, WV, Woody Riffle of Buckhannon, Dan Lipps of Buckhannon and Riley Lipps of Century; his best friend, Chris Esquer of Buckhannon and a special friend, Erica Wright of Lost Creek, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Lipps, two sisters, Barbara Cottrell and Annamae Lipps also two brothers, Danny Lipps and Delmas Riffle. Bernie was a custodian for WVWC. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 fro 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hodgesville. Lenora Marie Loudin
Lenora Marie Loudin, age 99, of Casselberry, FL died Friday, September 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1915 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Ida Sines Simons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Haze Loudin; one brother, Arlie Sines and four sisters, Elva Evans, Eva Thomas, Pearl Longdon and Elsie Wilde. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Garnett and husband Gregory of Casselberry and Linda Downing of Hutson, FL; two sons, Lonny Loudin and wife Rita of Leesburg, FL and Billy Loudin and wife Anna of Philadelphia, PA; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Loudin was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She made donuts for the Church to raise money to build the church school in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Friday, September 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Kingsley Whitsett officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Melba June Smith Linger
Melba June Smith Linger, age 88, of Bridgeport, WV died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday January, 31, 2015 her 88th birthday at The Heritage in Bridgeport after a long illness. She is a daughter of the late W. Hartsel and Sophronia Elizabeth Phillips Smith. On September 3, 1947 she married Elbert Leon Linger who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Garret Leon Linger and wife Brenda of St. Leonard, MD and Timothy Ross Linger and wife Kathy of Wallace, WV; one daughter, Aletta L. Moffett and husband Robert R. of Fairmont, WV; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; one great grandson; 8 great granddaughters; one brother, William Hartsel Smith, Jr. of Buckhannon; two sisters, Elizabeth Ellen Froggett of Phoenix, AZ and Winona Aylestock of VA and a twin sister, Velma Bennett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Annette Linger. Melba was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. She was a former youth Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Wesley Bible Study Group at First UMC and a member of the Aux. to the Harrison Co. Medical Society. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mrs. Linger will Lie in State from 10-11 AM Wednesday the funeral hour at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Meadows and the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry Lynn Loudin, Jr.
Jerry Lynn Loudin, Jr., age 49, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 11, 2015. He was born December 2, 1965 in Falls Church, VA, a son of the late Jerry Lynn Loudin, Sr. and Margaret Palmer Loudin. He is survived by three daughters, Sara and Samantha Loudin both of Horner, WV and Sheena Jordan and husband Gary of Volga, WV; one granddaughter, Maggie Jane Woody of Horner; two grandsons, Christopher Mason Woody of Horner and Gary Lynn Jordan III of Volga; one sister, Jennifer Loudin of Buckhannon; one brother, Joseph R. Loudin of Buckhannon; one niece, Leah Wolfe of Buckhannon; five nephews, Jacob Guy and Joshua Grant Loudin, Gavin Michael Wolfe and Jace and Will Griffith all of Buckhannon. Mr. Loudin was a contractor, hard worker and a member of the Horner UMC. Jerry was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed taking his grandson fishing. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Waldeck Cemetery in Pricetown, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses in memory of Jerry. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
