Nathanial 'Nathan' James Loar, age 32, of Moatsville, WV died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Grafton City Hospital in Grafton, WV. He was born July 25, 1983 in Elkins, WV a son of James Loar of Charleston, WV and Mabel Spore of Buckhannon, WV. On October 24, 2009 he married Victoria Hamner who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Makayla Mae Robinson of Moatsville; maternal grandmother, Josephene Fitzgerald of Buckhannon; father-in-law, Richard Hamner of Rock Cave, WV; mother-in-law, Judy Conley and husband David of Buckhannon, grandmother-in-law, Waneta Hamner of Rock Cave; sister-in-law, Samantha Hamner of Buckhannon; eight uncles, Kevin Loar and wife Rose of Akron, OH, Howard Loar of Moatsville and David E. Fitzgerald and wife Tracy and Calvin Lee Spore all of Buckhannon and Stanley Hamner and wife Janie and Stephen, Allan and Paul Hamner all of Rock Cave; eight aunts, Jean Moser and husband Van of Charlotte, NC; Cathy Loar Weast and husband L.C. of Fort Worth, TX, Mary Alice McHenry and husband Jimmy of Spencer, WV, Neva Workman and husband Roy of Grafton; Melva Teter and husband Harold of Braxton County, WV, Deann Alexander of French Creek, WV and Julia Hamner and Lisa Prine and husband Richard all of Rock Cave and several cousins. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Robert Spore, step grandfather, Vernon Fitzgerald, paternal grandparents, Dorsey and Erma Jean Loar and one uncle, Bob Ray Loar. Nathan was a mechanic and a Pentecostal by faith. Friends will be received Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 5 to 9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Ridge Church Cemetery in Gaines, WV. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard W. McKinney
Coach Richard W. McKinney, age 94, of Myrna St., Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born October 25, 1912 in Burnsville, WV, a son of the late Dr. Lloyd Lee and Anna Kidd McKinney. On June 2, 1938 he married Margaret Katherine Marshall who preceded him in death on November 2, 1992. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles F. McKinney; four brothers, Ralph H., Robert L., Robley L. and Randall H. McKinney and two sisters Mary E. McVaney and Anna L. Mills.Mr. McKinney is survived by a son, Richard M. McKinney and wife Judith of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Richard T. McKinney of Waynesburg, PA and Michael McKinney of Lexington, KY; four granddaughters, Kelley Sheckell of Farmington Hills, MI, Molly McKinney Fulton of Louisville, KY, Kristy McKinney of Columbus, OH and Sara Beth Thomas of Hickory, PA and seven great grandchildren, Drew and Sam Sheckell, Abby and Phoebe Fulton and Myles, Syndney and Lou McKinney. Mr. McKinney coached at Burnsville HS (1935-1942), Lumberport HS (1944), Philippi HS (1945-1955), Weston HS (1955-1961) and Buckhannon-Upshur High Schools and Buckhannon Junior High HS (1961-1974). Coach McKinney taught mathematics and coached (1935-1974). He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon and also the Kiwanis and Moose Lodge #598. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 4 to 9 PM at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Billy Scott Mick and Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Poling-St.Clair Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Jean Lowe
Barbara Jean Lowe, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her home. She was born January 20, 1938 in Elizabeth, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Freida Terrell Lowe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Belt. Surviving are five sons, Todd Lowe and wife Stephanie of Mocksville, NC, Buddy Belt of UT, Randy Belt of Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Alexander of Navarre, OH and Gary Alexander of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Georgeanna Voulgaras of Massillon, OH; several grandchildren and a special friend, Lenny Evans and wife Sharon of Buckhannon. Mrs. Lowe was a homemaker. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Elva Marie Lloyd
Elva Marie Lloyd, age 99, of Helvetia, WV died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Paulas Home Care in Buckhannon, WV with her family by her side. She was born July 29, 1916 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Eli and Gertrude Tenney Carpenter. On June 9, 1936 she married George Dude Lloyd who preceded her in death on December 12, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Hoy, Frank, Kessler, Sullie and Holland Carpenter; five sisters, Lola Burr, Mellie and Nellie Tenney, Northa Carpenter and Oneta Hoover and one infant sister. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lloyd was a homemaker. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Hemlock, WV with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Thelma Marie McCauley Nutter
Mrs. Thelma Marie McCauley Nutter of Buckhannon, WV and formerly of Bridgeport, WV passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon in the arms of her daughter. She was born May 3, 1927 to Christopher Columbus McCauley and Ada Right McCauley near Belington, WV. Her mother died shortly after her birth and she was raised by her father and Gladys Phares McCauley, who was truly a mother to her. She was married to Judge Carol Richard C.R. Nutter in November 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1983. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jan Marie Craig and Harry Layman Butch Craig of Buckhannon; her brother James and wife Avonelle McCauley of Grafton, a sister-in-law Melva Freeze of Philippi, WV, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also blessed to have a special young man in Buckhannon, Austin James Shaffer who loving called her Grandmother Nutter. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Opal Shaffer, brother Maynard Fid McCauley and two infant brothers. Thelma attended the schools of Barbour and Randolph County and was a proud graduate and valedictorian of the Belington High School Class of 1944. Following graduation she worked at the Myers Clinic while attending Alderson Broaddus College to earn a degree as a Medical Technologist. She later earned a Masters Degree from West Virginia University. Teaching was her gift. She taught at Morris Harvey College, Elk Garden School, Salem College, Bridgeport High School, and Johnson Elementary School; however, the longest time was spent at Simpson Elementary School in Bridgeport as a Kindergarten Teacher. Other than caring for her family, this was her true calling and love. Mrs. Nutter was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served in various roles within the church. She was a former President of the Governor Johnson Garden Club, Harrison County Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and Simpson School PTA. She was also a member of the Harrison County Association of Retired School Employees. Being named Harrison County Teacher of the Year in 1988 was one of the highlights of her career. In 2004 she was again blessed to be named a Benedum Fellow in recognition of her volunteer work for the city of Bridgeport. She enjoyed traveling and had visited each of the 50 United States along with traveling abroad. Faith and love played a huge role in Thelmas life. She fulfilled the purpose for which God called her by being a wonderful mother, wife, teacher and friend to many. Her legacy will live on through her family, her students, and those who knew her. The family would like to give a huge thank you to her second family at Serenity Care Home where she resided for the past six years. They loved and cared for her with the greatest dignity. Friends will be received Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 4 to 7 P at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Mrs. Nutter will lie in state from 11 AM to 1 PM the funeral hour Wednesday at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, WV with the Rev. Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

LouAnna Loudin
LouAnna Loudin, age 78 of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at her daughters home in Buckhannon. She was born November 14, 1937 in Oberlin, LA, a daughter of the late Alfin and Callie Sonnier Young. On June 11, 1956, she married Clifford Loudin who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Gail Yoakum and husband Gary of Buckhannon and Melinda Ball of Stevens City, VA; one son, Clifford Loudin Jr. and wife Kathy of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Loudin was a homemaker and attended the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior, WV. Friends will be received Friday, January 22, 2016 from 12 Noon to 1 PM the funeral hour at the Sand Run Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery in Excelsior. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Imogene Phillips Lemons
Imogene Phillips Lemons, age 93, of French Creek, WV, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at her home. She was born October 3, 1913 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Ord and Mamie Cutright Crites. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Joseph Phillips who died 1980; one son, Darrell Phillips; one granddaughter, Tanisha Robinson; four sisters, Mary Zickefoose, Blanch Sipes, Orphy Allender and Irene Crites and four brothers, Dennis, Paul, Audry and Billy Crites. She is survived by her 2nd husband, Cletus Lemons. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Melissa McGee and husband Kenny of French Creek and Arlene Phillips of Rock Cave, WV; one grandson, Randy Phillips and wife Paula of Rock Cave; one brother, Donald Crites of Buckhannon; one daughter in law, Sue Phillips of French Creek; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lemons was a homemaker. She attended the Sago Baptist Church and was a member of Gould Church. Friends will be received Sunday, July 22, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Church Cemetery in French Creek. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Wilda Louise Landis
Wilda Louise Landis, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born November 30, 1929 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Riley and Alice Lettie Cutright Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James William Cobb and Ward F. Landis; two sons, James and Ralph Edward Cobb; one brother, Haymon Smith and one sister, Rita Burr. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Alice Hadsock and husband Arthur of Ellamore, WV; two sons, Erwin Butch Cobb of Arizona and Ronald Stephen Cobb; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Wildas name. Gerald Dale Lance
Gerald Dale Lance, age 68, of French Creek, WV died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born May 26, 1939 in Crystal, MI a son of the late Dale R. and Hazel Jones Lance. On March 8, 1961 he married Carolyn Kay Beavers who survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Ruby Fowler and husband Dale of North Pole, AK, Jeri Lynne Long and husband Perry of Ellamore, WV, Jennifer Lee and Junior Kenney of Buckhannon, WV, Rebecca L. McCartney of Buckhannon, Lynda Garcia and husband Eric of Buckhannon and Cassie Hamner and husband Chris of French Creek; a granddaughter, Amie Conner of Andrews AFB, MD; seven grandsons, Perry Dale Long of Ellamore, Jamie Keys of Minot, ND, Eric McCartney of Buckhannon, Brandon Lee of Buckhannon, Caleb Hamner of French Creek, Cory Hamner of French Creek, and Liam Garcia of Buckhannon, three great-granddaughters; Rachel, Brooklyn and Emma Rose, three brothers, Larry Lance of Crystal, Gary Lance of Coppell, TX and Dennis Lance of Carson City, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Anita Lance. Mr. Lance was a tool pusher for S.W. Jack Drilling. Friends will be received 5-8 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Homer Phillip 'Dode' Lemons
Homer Phillip 'Dode' Lemons, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center of Clarksburg, WV. He was born September 19, 1917 in French Creek, WV, a son of the late Lyda Oscar and Lillie Mae Phillips Lemons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Hobert, Herald, Hartsel and Howard Lemons and four sisters, Brenners Becroft, Wilma Smallridge, Hazel Casto and Ruth Wassel. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Stuart and husband Cecil of Philippi, WV and Patty Timm and husband Paul of Roseville, MI; two sons, William Fitzgerald and wife Rose of N. Fort Myers, FL and Terry Lemons of High Point, NC; three grandsons, William and John Fitzgerald and Paul Timm; three granddaughters, Tonya Mitchell, Tracie Corder and Dawn Timm; four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Lemons was a school bus driver for the Upshur County Board of Education. He was a member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, Buckhannon Elks Lodge # 1736 and Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 14, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerome Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Laurel Fork Church Cemetery at French Creek, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Bill Mason, Jr.
William Bill Mason, Jr., age 49, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born September 28, 1959 in Atlantic City, NJ, a son of Lottie Tharp Mason of Buckhannon and the late William Mason, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, William Albert Mason, III and Jonathan Mason both of NJ; one granddaughter, Emily Mason of NJ; one brother, Jeffrey Mason of Buckhannon; one sister, Janet Anderson of Myrtle Beach, SC and former wife, Kathy Miller of Mays Landing, NJ. Bill was a welder and he was a faithful member of AA. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 10-11 AM the funeral hour at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses.
