Randall David Queen
Randall David Queen, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home. He was born June 3, 1940 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late William Kenneth and Nellie B. Waugaman Queen. On November 10, 1984 he married Loretta Woody who survives. Also surviving are one son, David Queen and wife Dee of Williamstown, WV; one step daughter, Carla Campbell and husband Jimmy of French Creek, WV; one grandson, Kage Queen and wife Kelsey of Middletown, DE; one granddaughter, Mahkayla Queen of Williamstown; one brother, Lowell Queen and wife Anita of Buckhannon; one sister, Carol Jean Walton of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and numerousfriends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Louise Wilt. Mr. Queen served in the WV National Guard for over 39 years and retired as a Sgt. Major. Randall was a truck driver for the USPFO and retired after 35 years of service. He attended and played piano at the Lorentz UMC and the South Buckhannon Mission Church. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 2-8 PM at the South Buckhannon Mission Church. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the church with Pastor Ed Lowther and Pastor Steve Hinerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ada Mae Riley
Ada Mae Riley, age 75 of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, October 07, 2007 at her home. She was born on January 15, 1932 at Shinnston, WV a daughter of the late Tom and Opal (Eskew) Teets. On May 18, 1950 she married Richard J. Riley who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Smith and husband Burl of Buckhannon, and Regina Bertsch and husband Kerry of Broussard, LA; two sons, Richard Riley, II and wife Cheryl of French Creek, and Tom Riley and wife Annie of Kesling Mill, WV 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great- grandchild, one sister June Patterson of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Kaull, two sons, Rodney and Terry Riley; two sisters, Ester Adams and Kathleen Kohli; and one brother, Darrell Teets. Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and attended Liberty Baptist Church. Friends will be received 4-8 PM, Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Reverend Beryl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow at the Bailey Cemetery on Bailey Ridge. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Roberta Anne Roberts Risinger
Roberta Anne Roberts Risinger, age 85, of Raleigh, NC and formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007. She was born August 4, 1921 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Dr. Lakin Fiske and Roberta Anne Reger Roberts. She grew up in Buckhannon, WV and later enrolled at West Virginia Wesleyan College. During her first year there she met her future husband Rev. Melvin Smith Risinger of Moundsville, WV who preceded her in death. They both graduated in 1943. He went to Duke Divinity School and she began her career teaching Physical Education in Weston, WV. They were married June 1, 1946 in her grandfathers home in Buckhannon. Thus began a life together of service to others through their joint ministry in the United Methodist Churches in the West Virginia Conference. Roberta was an active Participant in every church her husband served. She taught Sunday School most especially enjoying the pre-schoolers, helped with Vacation Bible School, sang alto in the church choirs, and was an instrumental part of the Food Ministry in her husbands last church in Parkersburg. She loved to garden and shared her green thumb with many who were fortunate enough to receive a rose from her garden or a bundle of herbs for cooking. She entertained many guests in the parsonages where she lived using recipes her mother had handed down to her. She will be remembered for her wonderful pies and homemade bread. Painting with watercolors was a hobby Roberta enjoyed in later life using the flowers in her garden as a focus for her canvas. Country churches that she remembered from her childhood was another object of her work. Roberta delighted in listening to and attending opera functions. She was active in the Methodist Ministers Wives Fellowship of the West Virginia Conference even serving as their President. She was also a fifty-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood of which she joined as a student at Wesleyan. She most especially loved children, volunteering at local schools as a tutor to help students with reading. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart planning activities and games making them her priority when they visited together. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Harriet Roberts McChesney and a brother, Dr. Robert Abram Roberts. Surviving are two daughters, Anne Koebley and husband Kevin of Smithfield, NC, and Meg Risinger of Raleigh; a son George Risinger and wife Nikki of Raleigh; five granddaughters, Meghan Koebley, Amy Risinger Cagle, Jessica Risinger Bell, Meredith Koebley and Lenneka DeWitt and two grandsons, David Koebley and Martin DeWitt. The family request that memorial gifts be made to the West Virginia Wesleyan College office of Advancement, General Scholarship Fund, Campus Box, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.

Maurice G. Robinson
Maurice G. Robinson entered into rest Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007, at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman, OH, after a short illness. He was born August 14, 1920, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Nelson and Evalena Preisse Robinson. During World War II Mr. Robinson was employed at the Ravenna Arsenal. After the war he was employed by American Standard and Mullins Manufacturing, until each plant closed. He retired from Copperweld Steel after working 19 years, where he was affectionately known as Curly. Mr. Robinson was a race car enthusiast, and, in his younger years, competed in car racing at the Canfield Race Track. He enjoyed hunting and was the proud owner of a gun collection. In his later years he enjoyed watching sporting events on TV, especially his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest love was his family. He loved to tell everyone about his five daughters and how very proud he was of his family. He never met a stranger, and anyone who knew him loved him. He made many friends throughout his life, and his friendships continued during his residence at Shepherd of the Valley. Mr. Robinsons family will be eternally grateful and blessed by the loving care, friendship and devotion given him during his stay at Shepherd of the Valley. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle and friend; an all around great guy who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by five daughters, Conet Hawes, Judy Culp, Beverly Lee, Joyce Malagisi and Debra Sudon, a sister, Ruth Montgomery, a brother, Charles Watts, eleven grandchildren (including his beloved grandson, Evan), many great grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, many extended family members and friends. He was blessed to have many friends at Nays Chapel in Buckhannon, all of whom kept in touch with loving cards and prayers. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Aerouana Mae and Vera Maxine and four brothers, Boots, Darrell and Kenna Robinson and Zeno Watts Jr. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Vickie Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, 7148 West Blvd., Boardman, OH 44512. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty J. Riffle
Betty J. Riffle, age 65, of Weston, WV, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. She was born June 16, 1942 in Barbour County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Reva Robinson Beckner. On July 27, 1990 she married Paul James Riffle who survives. Also, surviving are three daughters, Mary Alkire and husband Lloyd of Weston, Tammy Rosenberger and husband Mike of Lansdale, PA and Sandra Alkire of Weston; two sons, Charles Timothy Beckner and wife Diana of Weston and James Edward Riffle of Weston; three brothers, Danny Beckner of Buckhannon, Jim Beckner of Hodgesville, WV and David Beckner of Buckhannon; seven sisters, Connie Canter of Hodgesville, Nancy Durant of Buckhannon, Sherry Posey of Ohio, Linda Mealey of Buckhannon, Karen Nethken of Beverly, WV, Hazel Whitley of Ohio and Rita Buss of Martinsburg, WV; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ricky, Billy and Leonard Beckner and one sister, Dorothy Beckner. Mrs. Riffle was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Assembly of God. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Anderson and the Rev. Mike Riffle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Garnet Irene Roberts
Garnet Irene Roberts, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Holbrook's Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born October 13, 1925 in Frenchton, WV, a daughter of the late Ira and Edna Tolliver Heavner. On October 29, 1946 she married Ira Pearl Roberts who preceded her in death on March 18, 1963. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Heavner, Basil Heavner, Burton Heavner and three sisters, Pearl Heavner, Billie Gregory and Avis Brimlow. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Roberts of San Diego, CA; one son, Raymond Roberts of Polk City, FL; two grandchildren; two brothers, Faye Heavner of Ireland, WV and Thomas Heavner of Diamond, OH; and two sisters, Cletus Marsh of Akron, OH and Juanita Nuzum of Buckhannon. She was a waitress and a Methodist by Faith. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Friday March 7, 2008 from 10 AM-12 PM the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Woodsdale Cemetery at Grafton, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lindsey Jennell Rose
Lindsey Jennell Rose, age 19, of French Creek, WV died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Eden, WV. She was born October 5, 1988 in Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of Robert James Rose of French Creek, WV and Cristina Crites Reger of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Ashley Michell Rose of Buckhannon; one brother, Richard James Koch of Fairmont, WV; two step brothers, Erick John Miller of Fort Myers, FL and Jeremy Reger of New Mexico; a step sister, Stasha Kucel of Texas; paternal grandmother, June B. Powell of Fairmont; maternal grandfather, Russell Crites of Buckhannon; maternal grandmother, Cristine Crites of Buckhannon; several aunts and uncles, several cousins and several nieces and nephews. Lindsey was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Robert J. Rose, Sr. Lindsey was a student at Fairmont State College studying to be a lawyer. She was a lover of life, was active in cheerleading, dance and the princess court. She attended New Life Tabernacle. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 4-9 PM at the New Life Tabernacle. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the church with Rev. Jeff Cochran and Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marjorie V. Robinson
Marjorie V. Robinson, age 85 of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, June 06, 2008 at the St. Joseph Hospital, in Buckhannon. She was born on January 28, 1923 in Anmoore, WV a daughter of the late Houston Earl and Amanda Alice Kesling. On May 16, 1941 she married Kenna McClain Robinson who preceded her in death on July 26, 2000. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Stanton and husband Carlyle of Buckhannon, Carole Parks of Weston, WV, and Peggy Phillips of Ellamore, WV; one son Kenna McClain Mack Robinson, II of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Mark Stanton and wife Michelle of Norton, WV, Allen Parks and wife Peggy Jo of Weston, Robbie Parks and wife Sherri of Weston, Chad Newcome and wife Sarah of Ellamore, Brian Newcome and wife Lori of Ellamore, Michael Robinson of GA, and David Parks and wife Lisa of Weston; six granddaughters, Pam Sheehan and husband Kevin of Louisville, KY, Angie Sheley and husband Charles of Buckhannon, Michelle Jack and husband Bill of Buckhannon, Tonya Simon and husband Jeff of Burlington, KY, Leah Propts of Buckhannon, Laura Phillips and Fianc Andrew McDaniels of Buckhannon; 17 great-grandchildren, and a special niece Lida Fisher and husband Jennings of Spelter, WV. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Dorsey Kesling and one sister Geneva Rader. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker and a member of the Gertrude Chapel United Methodist Church in Ellamore, WV. She also belonged to the senior center and was active in the CEOs. Friends will be received Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Vicki Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Donna Lee Roby
Donna Lee Roby, age 70, of Orlando, WV died Friday, September 5, 2008 at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born December 23, 1937 in Cleveland, WV, a daughter of the late Oral Eugene and Pearl Herron Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Roby. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Ferguson and Diane Coury both of Wakeman, OH; two sons, Michael Roby of Wakeman and Jim Roby of Berea, KY; two grandsons, Phil and Adam; three granddaughters, Cindy, Jennifer and Jamie; six great-grandchildren and one brother, David Anderson of Kailua, Hawaii. Mrs. Roby was a homemaker. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. She will Lie in State from 10 - 11 AM Wednesday the funeral hour at the Cleveland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. Burial will follow in the Life Cemetery at Cleveland, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Billy Jackson Rogers
Billy Jackson Rogers, age 83, of Leland, NC and formerly of Buckhannon, Clarksburg and Bridgeport, WV passed away September 6, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born September 25, 1924 in Wyndal, WV to Virgie Pritt Rogers and Drury Jackson Rogers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family with brothers Robert (wife Maddie of Maret, WV still survives), Jack (Juanita) and Charles and a sister Rebecca Burroughs (Jack) and his parents preceding him in death. He was a gentle and caring man and lived by the words If you cant say anything nice, say nothing at all. He proudly served his country as a member of the 388th Bombardment Group, Army Air corps. And was honorably discharged in 1945. He retired to the Leland area in 1983 as a former real estate broker with his own agency in WV, Rogers Real Estate. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Berma Dean Rogers, three daughters, Lovell Rogers Phillips (Jim) of Leland, NC; Regenia Rogers Hight (Paul) of Clarksburg, WV; and Marcia Rogers Ball (Terry) of Hampstead, NC and a son, Billy J. Rogers and companion, Curtis Anderson of Leland, NC and a special nieces, JoAnn Dean White (Larry) of Stonewood, WV. He also is survived by grandchildren, Andrea Phillips Garner of Leland, NC; Christina Hight Wolford (Kevin) of Clarksburg, WV; Kathy Hight Badgett of North Olmstead, OH; Erick Hight (Crystal) of Clarksburg, WV and Casey Ball of Wrightsville Beach, NC. He was predeceased by twin grandsons, Jonathan and Donovan Hight. He is survived by ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Poling and the Rev. Richard Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Herman Church Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV. The family requests that flowers be omitted and any and all donations be made either to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and life Care Center, 2222 S. 17th St., Wilmington, NC 28451 or the Mt. Herman Methodist Church Cemetery Upkeep Fund c/o Mary Ryan Rt 4 Box 635 Buckhannon, WV 26201. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
