Paul Herman Stewart
Paul H. Stewart, formerly of Summersville, WV, passed away on August 30, 2010 at Victoria Manor Assisted Living in Buckhannon, WV. He was a retired coal mining trucker in Nicholas County for many years. He was born September 27, 1921 at Lost Creek, WV to the late Frank Herman and Frankie ODell Stewart. He married Roberta Tinney, who preceded him in death. Also predeceasing Paul were brothers, Robert Stanford, Val Clifford and Daniel Lee Stewart (in infancy). A 1940 graduate of Clear Fork High School in Raleigh County, Paul was a proud member of the football team. He served our country during World War II as a supply trucker in the 142nd Antiaircraft Battalion in England, France and Germany, (and also drove a truck on the Red Ball Express) following Basic Training in Fort Bliss, TX. Surviving are brothers John D. Stewart and wife Mary of Fairplain, WV, Douglas M. Stewart and wife Yvonne of Buckhannon and sister Vera Stewart Neal of Buckhannon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. There will be no funeral service. A private family interment is planned at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dewey Junior Stone
Dewey Junior Stone, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his home. He was born November 28, 1923 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Dewey Dale and Ilene Carrie Warner Stone. On February 2, 1946 he married Betty Lee Queen who survives. Also surviving are one son, Dale Eugene Stone and wife Janet Kay of Poway, CA; one daughter, Judy White and husband Calvin of Buckhannon; five granddaughters, Misty Stone of Whippany, NJ, Tiffany Reed and husband Patrick of Randolph, NJ, Whitney Stone of Walnut Creek, CA, Christine Knibloe and husband Jim of Tucson, AZ and Leslie White of Amherst, VA and two great-grandsons, Kaiden Reed of Randolph and Elliott Knibloe of Tucson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Billie and Paul Stone. Mr. Stone was a carpenter and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Guyda Ernestine Stone
Guyda Ernestine Stone, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hospice In-Patient Center in Elkins, WV. She was born May 29, 1927 in Upshur Co, WV, a daughter of the late Ovid and Ocie Strader Queen. On February 4, 1946 she married Billy G. Stone who preceded her in death on May 19, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Angeline Marple and Omagene Smith. She is survived by two sons, Billy Stone and wife Paula and Lindon Stone and wife Sue; two grandsons, Lindon Lenny Stone, II and Hunter Stone all of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Tammy Chidester of Abbott, WV; two great granddaughters; one great grandson and one sister, Geraldine Stump of Logan, OH. Mrs. Stone was a school teacher. She was a member of the Reger Chapel United Methodist Church in Buckhannon, Reger Chapel United Methodist WSCS and Extension Homemakers. Friends will be received Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Burial will follow in the Reger Chapel Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lula Eileen Sue Tallman Williams
Lula Eileen Sue Tallman Williams, age 81, of Tallmansville, WV died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. She was born February 9, 1927 in Ten Mile, WV, a daughter of the late Moffett Edgar and Mayme Coral Beer Tallman. On February 2, 1946 she married Claude Earl Williams who survives. Also, surviving are four daughters, Susan Petree and husband Pete of Ten Mile, Marcia Cross and husband Albie of Fairmont, WV, Jenelda Puzzo and husband Dan of Woodstock, IL and Sandy Carney and husband Ed of Abingdon, VA; one son, Mark Williams and wife Twila of Tallmansville; one brother, Victor Tallman of Buckhannon, WV; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Earl Williams; three brothers, Kenneth, Glen and Roger Tallman and one sister, June Larosa Peluso. Mrs. Williams was a Secretary for FMC Corporation. She was a member of the Ten Mile United Methodist Church, Ten Mile CEOs, Tennerton Lions Club, American Legion Aux., Upshur County Class of 1945 Treasure, 1996 Miss Upshur County Belle, Past Matron Nitro Order Eastern Star and Past President of Nitro Womens Club. Friends will be received Friday, August 1, 2008 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, at the funeral home with Daniel A. Puzzo officiating. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery at Ten Mile. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505. Betty L. Flanagan Spencer
Betty L. Flanagan Spencer, age 75, of Elkins, WV and formerly of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Hospice Care In-Patient Center of Elkins. She was born on August 9, 1937 in Lantz, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence and Rosie Hamilton Flanagan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Cecil and Richard Kisner; six brothers, Clarence Junior, Paul, Amos, Roger, Stanley and Earl Flanagan and one sister, Helen Flanagan. She is survived by four daughters, Connie Elmore and husband Timothy of Norton, WV, Brenda L. Stout and husband Douglas, Melissa Anderson and husband Roger all of Buckhannon and Rebecca Spencer of Elkins; two sons, Larry Steven Kisner of Morgantown, WV and Kenneth E. Spencer and wife Kathy of Buckhannon; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Ray Flanagan of Kingsville, WV and Herbert Bud Flanagan of Belington, WV and three sisters, Lucille Spencer of Junior, WV, Louise Esposito of Belington and Mae Chapman of Melbourne, FL. Mrs. Spencer was a homemaker and a Christian by faith. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and the Upshur Parish House. Friends will be received Monday, January 21, 2013 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bobbie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillips Chapel Cemetery in Jimstown, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Irene E. Tyre
Died, Irene E. Tyre, of 3 East Lincoln St. Buckhannon, WV, after a prolonged illness at the age of 92 on Oct. 9, 2006. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon. She is survived by her daughter, Loraine L. Tyre, MD. Of Morgantown, WV; two sisters, Inez Woodford of Bridgeport, WV and Matilda Klow of Virginia Beach, VA; and two brothers, George Woodford of Elkins, WV and Riley Woodford of Martinsburg, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond B. Tyre; a son Robert B. Tyre; one sister Loraine Fest; two brothers William Woodford and John Woodford; her two parents, Lena Woodford and John Harvey Woodford. Friends and family may call at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Kanawha St. in Buckhannon, from 6-8 PM on Wednesday. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 8462, Chicago, IL 60680-8462.

Eloise Virginia Starkey
Eloise Virginia Starkey, age 98, formerly of Buckhannon, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her home in Nutter Fort, WV. She was born March 18, 1914 in McCoole, MD, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Ella Biser Thorpe. On February 7, 1936 she married Amos Garland Starkey, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1978. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her step mother, Nan Hamilton Thorpe; three sisters, Florine Thorpe, Charlotte Russell and Evelyn Cherry; one brother, Oscar Thorpe and one half-sister, Wanda Thorpe. She is survived by one special son, Dennis Ray Starkey of Nutter Fort, WV; one daughter, Sandra Tookie Moscar and husband Teddy of Nutter Fort; one granddaughter, Michelle Bennett of Lumberport, WV; two grandsons, Teddy Moscar II of Stems, NC and Shawn Moscar of Clarksburg, WV; five great granddaughters, Brandy Bell of Bridgeport, WV, Kara Augone of Richmond, VA, Lauren Moscar of Orlando, FL, Laken Thomas and Dusty Moscar both of Clarksburg; two great grandsons, Matthew Moscar of Stems and Jenson Moscar of Clarksburg; two great great granddaughters, Olivia Bell of Bridgeport and Kyri Thomas of Clarksburg; one great great grandson, Andrew Bell of Bridgeport. Mrs. Starkey worked for the Upshur Co. Board of Education as a Cook. She attended the West Buckhannon United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 3-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard L. Tinney, II
Richard L. Tinney, II age 18, of Buckhannon, WV died as a result of complications of cystic fibrosis on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1990 in Weston, WV a son of Richard Tinney of Buckhannon and Shirley Howes Tinney of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Reanna Casto and husband K.C. of Crosslanes, WV and Veronica Tinney and fianc Michael Hinchman of Buckhannon; two special brothers Scott Henry of Uniontown, PA and Raymond Tinney of Buckhannon; two nephews Alex Casto of Crosslanes and Leeland Hinchman of Buckhannon; one niece Kaylee Weaver of Buckhannon; maternal grandparents Franklin and Virginia Howes of French Creek, WV; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Connie Tinney of Fairmont, WV and paternal grandmother Clara Parsons of Fairmont. Richard was a student at Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was a champion child for the Children's Miracle Network in 2005. Friends will be received Friday, April 24, 2009 from 10-11 AM the funeral hour at the Way Of Holiness Church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Betty Lee Stone
Betty Lee Stone, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, February 22 in Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV, as a result of complications from a recent surgery. She was born July 31, 1926 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Elsie White Queen. On February 2, 1946 she married Dewey Junior Stone who preceded her in death on March 6, 2011. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Dean. She is survived by one daughter, Judy A. White and husband Calvin of Buckhannon; one son, Dale E. Stone and wife Kay of Poway, CA; five granddaughters, Misty Stone of Poway, Tiffany Reed of Randolph, NJ, Christine Knibloe of Tucson, AZ, Whitney Stevenson of Walnut Creek, CA and Leslie Petty of Lynchburg, VA; two great grandsons, Kaiden Reed of Randolph and Elliott Knibloe of Tucson; one great granddaughter, Ryan Reed of Randolph; one step great granddaughter, Ivy Petty of Tucson and one sister, Kenna Sutton of Buckhannon. Betty was a graduate of the West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg . She retired from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1997 as the Custodial Supervisor for Wesleyans facilities. Betty was very devoted to her family and took great pride and joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, February 28, between the hours of 5 and 8 PM at the Poling St. Clair funeral home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Oneta Mae Stone
Oneta Mae Stone, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Roger Howard, while surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Audra and Nora Belle Riggleman Wilt. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell C. Pritt, and her second husband, Charles A. Stone. Also preceding her in death were one infant sister; three brothers, Jack, Junior and Robert Wilt and one son, John D. Wilt. Mrs. Stone was a lifelong resident of Upshur County and a longtime member of the Sand Run Baptist Church. She was a member of the Heavner Grove CEOs and a longtime devoted volunteer of the Parish House Clothes Closet. Mrs. Stone is survived by her two daughters, Betty Beeson and husband Joe of South Charleston, WV and Jean Howard and husband Roger of Buckhannon; one step-son, Gary Stone and wife Pat of Buckhannon; special grandchildren, John Wilt Jr. and wife Crystal of Ellamore, WV and Craig Beeson and wife Natalie of South Charleston, Lea Anne Yates and husband Rodney of Clarksburg, WV, Cristina Dillon and husband Chad of Fairmont, WV and Andrea Beeson of South Charleston. She is also survived by four precious great-grandchildren, Lilly and Gabriel Dillon both of Fairmont, Benjamin Beeson of South Charleston and Sarah Bender and husband Anthony of Ellamore; several much loved cousins, nieces, nephews and her faithful dog, Spencer. Friends will be received Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Timothy Alan Stump
Timothy Alan Stump, age 52, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at United Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born January 16, 1961 in Weymouth, MA, a son of Gene and Mary Ann Casella Stump of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sweetheart, Marsha Lantz of Buckhannon; proud Daddy of Nina Katherine Stump of Buckhannon; one sister, Deborah Stump of Gulf Breeze, FL; three brothers, Tony Stump and wife Martha of Marietta, OH, David Stump of Ellamore, WV and Tom Stump and wife Gail of Napier, WV and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. Timothy was a Superintendent for Breckenridge Construction. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Friends will be received Friday, January 10, 2014 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1 PM Saturday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Ron Nikodem, S.M. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park at Tennerton, WV.
