Wilda Diana Wright
Wilda Diana Wright, age 50, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. She was born January 25, 1962 in Buckhannon, a daughter of Elizabeth Shreve Fortney of Buckhannon and the late James Oscar Fortney. In addition to her mother also surviving are her husband, David Dink Wright of Buckhannon; two sons, David Allen Wright Jr., and wife Becky of Buckhannon and Rusty Lee Wright and wife Elizabeth of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Kylie and Taylor Wright both of Buckhannon; two brothers, Robert Fortney and wife Naomi and Ronald Fortney all of Buckhannon; four sisters, Mary Chandler, Pam Landis and husband Jim, Junie Trainer and husband Fred and Bonnie Tenney and husband Roger all of Buckhannon; one half-brother, James Fortney and wife Stella of Buckhannon; one half-sister Josephine Simms of NC, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Fortney and three half-sisters, Joann Wilson, Norma Jean Coleman and Ruthie Eckess. Mrs. Wright was a waitress at Country Time Cooking. At the request of Mrs. Wright her body will be cremated and a private family service will be held. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert L. Wharton
Mr. Robert L. Wharton passed away peacefully on November 15, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. Mr. Wharton was born on September 12, 1921 in Elba, Ohio, to Clarence and Mollie Wharton and was the seventh of eight children. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Wharton and daughter Lisa Wharton, of Buckhannon, West Virginia; brother William Wharton and his wife Mary Wharton of Marietta, Ohio; Nieces: Betty June Huck of Marietta, Ohio: Thurma Thomas of Davenport, Florida; JaneAnn Lutz of Lewis Center, Ohio; Beverly Dennis of Massilon, Ohio, Marilee Walker of Terrace, California, and Sherry Arnoth of Santee, California; Nephews: Jim and Tim McKee of Zanesville, Ohio, Mark Wharton of Marietta, Ohio, Craig Wharton of Crownsville, Maryland, Paul Wharton of Coppell, Texas, Keith Wharton of Hollister, California and Jim Wharton of Miami;, Florida and many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Wharton had worked in the oil and gas industry in West Virginia for the past 60 years. He was the President of R. L. Wharton Enterprises and partner in Ross and Wharton Gas Company. He served as a sergeant in the 169th Engineer Combat Battalion in the United States Army during World War II. During the war, he was a heavy equipment operator in northern Africa and Italy and was involved in several battles including the battles of Po Valley, Naples-Fossin, Rome-Arno and North Appenines. He was awarded the Theater Ribbon with Four Bronze stars and the Good Conduct Ribbon for his service. Mr. Wharton contributed to many non-profit organizations throughout the community and served on the board of directors of the West Virginia University Hospital and the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Buckhannon, the Aurelius Masonic Lodge #308 in Macksburg, Ohio, the Knights Templar of Washington, Pennsylvania, and the Moose Lodge 1344 in Mannington, WV. He enjoyed traveling with a special affection for train travel, loved animals, music and the theater, was a great storyteller and always welcomed friend and visitors. He was a loving a husband, wonderful father and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Buckhannon Church of Christ or St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. Friends will be received Monday, November 19, 2012 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Evang. Darell Toothman officiating. A graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the Lower Salem Cemetery in Lower Salem, OH with Roger Rush officiating. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Richard 'Charlie' Wilfong
Charles Richard Charlie Wilfong, departed this life Monday, November 18, 2012. He was born July 7, 1943 at Holly Grove, WV to the late Hoy and Wilda Gillum Wilfong of Selbyville, WV. Charlie is survived by his fiance Levera Hosaflook of Selbyville; one son, Charles James Jim Wilfong and wife Susan Hinzman Wilfong of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Jaime Wilfong and one grandson, Thomas Wilfong, both of Martinsburg, WV; five sisters, Madeline and husband James Barrett of Mauk, GA, Lovern and husband Bennie Campbell of Stonewood, WV, Josephine Smith of French Creek, WV, Jean Corbin of Naples, FL and Linda Wilfong of Chidester, AR and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Wilfong and Hoy Junior Wilfong and five sisters, Irene Wilfong, Marie Murphy, Maxine Wilfong, Arnetta Chance and Annetta Powers. Charlie was a member of the Rock Cave Lodge # 81 AF & AM and a lifetime member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army having been disabled while serving his country and was a retired coal miner from Bass Energy in Buckhannon. He was a born again Christian and loved God with all his heart. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Peoples Hospice, United Hospital Center, 327 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330. At the request of Mr. Wilfong he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Misty Anne Woodyard
Misty Anne Woodyard, age 57, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at her home. She was born August 3, 1955 in Weston, WV, a daughter of the late Bill and Ethel Sprouse Woodyard. Surviving are two sons, Shaun Moyers of Morgantown, WV and Shane Moyers of Buckhannon; one daughter Misty Montalvo and fianc Randy Post of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Kris and Austin Lanham and Aaron Montalvo all of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Alyssa Godwin of Buckhannon; one sister, Terri Lilly and husband Dennis of Rock, WV and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Woodyard was a truck driver. She loved to go to the Gibson Library. At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gibson Library at 105 East Main St. Buckhannon, WV 26201 or to The Parish House 68 College Ave. Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Patty Jo Wimer
Patty Jo Wimer, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV. She was born September 23, 1929 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Grant K. Crites and Madge C. Crites Crites VanGilder. On June 6, 1948 she married William Willard Wimer who preceded her in death on September 14, 1990. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, William Robert and William Russell Wimer; a brother, Jimmie Crites; a sister, Mary Louise Williamson and a step father, Estel C. VanGilder. Surviving are two sons, William W. Wimer, II of Buckhannon and Thomas C. Wimer and wife Michelle of Harrisville, NY; two grandsons, Thorne Thomas Wimer and Griffin Sovay both of Harrisville; a granddaughter, Bianca Sovay of Harrisville and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wimer was a cashier for Alladin Food Service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, a long-time member of United Methodist Women, a member of the Upshur County Livestock Association, a member of the Upshur County Farm Bureau, a life-time member of Oletha Chapter 82 Order of Eastern Star and the last surviving member of her bridge club. Friends will be received Monday, January 7, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM with an Eastern Star Service to be held at 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick and the Rev. Dr. Harold Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John D. Wilt
John D. Wilt, age 71, of Ellamore, WV, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home. He was born September 16, 1941 in Upshur Co., WV a son of Oneta Wilt Stone of Buckhannon, WV. On December 23, 1961 he married Judy Elaine ODell who preceded him in death on April 22, 2010. In addition to his mother he is survived by one son, John D. Wilt, Jr. and wife Crystal of Ellamore; one granddaughter, Sarah Bender and husband Anthony of Ellamore; two sisters, Jean Howard and husband Roger of Buckhannon and Betty Beeson and husband Joe of Charleston, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wilt was a Parts Man for the WV Department of Highways and a member of the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior, WV. Friends will be received Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Sand Run Baptist Church in Excelsior. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the church with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbra H. White
Barbra H. White, age 73, of Fishing Camp, WV died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at her home. She was born October 7, 1939 in Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of the late Benjamin I. and Jessie Rowan Hornbeck. On January 29, 1961 she married Allen Scott White, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Franklin D. Hornbeck. She is survived by three sons, Douglas White and wife Linda and Bruce White, all of Fishing Camp and Stan White and wife Karen of Barbour County, WV; two grandsons, Levi and Spencer White, both of Fishing Camp; four granddaughters, Devin and Chantel White, both of Fishing Camp and Amanda and Ashley White, both of Barbour County and one sister, Helen Suder and husband Alva of Minerva, OH. Mrs. White was a homemaker, a past member of the Upshur Co. Livestock Assoc., the Farm Bureau and TTT Camper Club and an active member of the Teter CEOs. During hay season she enjoyed cooking for the men who worked in the fields. She enjoyed club meetings and dinners and she really enjoyed game night with the grandkids. Friends will be received from 5-9 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM, Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jane O. Wollaber
Jane O. Wollaber, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital NCF in Buckhannon. She was born June 15, 1926 in Tonawanda, NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Annie Mileham Rockenbrock. On June 19, 1948 she married Raymond E. Wollaber whom preceded her in death on January 24, 1983. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Carl Rockenbrock. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Wollaber and wife Linda of Scott Depot, WV and Greg P Wollaber of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Janice O. Wollaber of Buckhannon; one grandson, Jared B. Wollaber of Scott Depot; one sister, Lillian Schulte and husband Clyde of Tonawanda; several nieces and nephews and special family friends, Ron and Linda ONeal of Buckhannon. Mrs. Wollaber was a Secretary for West Virginia Wesleyan College and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dolly Almeta Williams
Dolly Almeta Williams, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, July 8, 2013 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born January 2, 1928 in Beans Mill, WV, a daughter of the late Frank M. and Mable O. Lewis Zirkle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene M. Williams who died on December 28, 2012 and also nine siblings. She is survived by one son, Gary Williams of Buckhannon; two daughters, Julia Zickefoose of Auburndale, FL and Sharon Gantt of Hampton, VA; one granddaughter, Cecile Robertson of Winter Haven, FL; one grandson, John M. Gantt of Newport News, VA; special caregiver, Lisa Williams of Rock Cave, WV and special family friend, David Wilfong of French Creek, WV. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, gardening and spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 1-2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2 PM with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Camp Church Cemetery at French Creek, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Beulah Helmick George Whitehair
Beulah Helmick George Whitehair, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born January 30, 1921 in Adamsville, WV, a daughter of the late John Jackson and Dolly Carr Helmick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Veto George, 2nd husband, John Whitehair; two brothers, Dewey and Johnnie Helmick; sister, Ruby Holbert; son-in-law, John N. Boni and grandson-in-law, Rick G. Magrini. She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Boni of Buckhannon; two sons, John N. George of Buckhannon and Victor George and wife Terry of Shinnston, WV; four grandsons, John P. Boni and Cathy Summers of Charlotte, NC, Mark A. and Jason E. George both of Buckhannon and Clint R. George and wife Amanda of Shinnston; four granddaughters, Dawn R. (Boni) Magrini of Orlando, FL, Tonya B. Boni of Buckhannon, Keely A. (George) Tichenor and husband Bill of Wooster, OH and Kristen N. (George) Domas and husband Richard of Clarksburg, WV; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Helmick and wife Delores of Enterprise, WV; two sisters, Alma Amodio of Clarksburg, WV and Wilma Lopez of Falling Waters, WV; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Karen Kesling, Jerry and Doris Greene all of Buckhannon. Mrs. Whitehair was a hairdresser and a Christian by faith. A Special Thanks to the Staff at Holbrooks Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in Shinnston, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul R. White
Paul R. White, 55, of North Buffalo Township, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born December 21, 1957, in Upshur County, WV. Paul was a manager of Sunoco, Pittsburgh, and had formerly managed G.C. Murphy Co., Kittanning, and several Rite Aid and PharMor locations. He liked model trains, and loved the West Virginia Mountaineers.... Surviving are his mother, Mildred (Jack) White of Buckhannon; his wife, Rose (Owings) White of Kittanning; his children, Nicole Dawn (Tim) Coe of French Creek, WV, Jennifer Rose White of Manorville, Danielle Rebecca White of Ford City, and Paul Andrew White, at home; 11 grandchildren; a brother, David (Janice) White of Washington state; and a sister, Mary Jane (Robert) Jack of Buchannon, WV. Paul was preceded in death by father, Paul Andrew White. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, with a memorial service following at 8 p.m., in the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Rev. Thom Bonomo will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1938.
