William Harold 'Bill' White
William Harold 'Bill' White, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice in Buckhannon. He was born May 15, 1943 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Dory and Daisy Smith White. On April 30, 1972 he married Fern Sipes White who preceded him in death on November 8, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by six sisters, Betty Smith, Nellie Edwards, Virginia Ruggles, Geneva Canfield, Avis McClead and Ruth White. He is survived by a special niece, Mary Harper and husband Robert of French Creek, WV; special caregiver, Juanita Andrews of Buckhannon; a nephew, Eddie McClead of Morgantown and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. White worked in construction as a roofer. At his request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice D. Williams
Alice D. Williams, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born May 5, 1922 in DuBois, PA, a daughter of the late Merle B. and Isabelle Bleakney Dunlap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Rush. She is survived by two daughters, Amy Tenney and husband Edward of Buckhannon and Jean Anne LaRosa of Fort Myers, FL; one son, John M. Williams and wife Patty of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Stephanie Finn and husband Travis of Edenboro, PA and Morgan Jane LaRosa of Fort Myers; two grandsons, Phillip J. Williams and wife Kelly of Honolulu, HI and David John LaRosa of Fort Myers; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Finn of Edenboro and one great-grandson, Levi Finn of Edenboro. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon. A charter member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Aux., the Buckhannon Womens Club. She ran the YWCA Budget Shop for 30 years and received the Athenian Award for her volunteerism. Friends will be received Friday, January 31, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Bohman officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Aux. Scholarship Fund c/o Carol Ralston, 1 Amalia Drive Buckhannon, WV 26201 or Literacy Volunteers, 34 W. Lincoln Street, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Maxine Edna Wood
Maxine Edna Wood, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born February 15, 1926 in Murphys Station, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest L. Murphy and Edna B. Harris Murphy House. On November 15, 1954 she married Kenneth O. Wood, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L., Junior L. and Wilbur T. Murphy. She is survived by one brother, Kermit House and wife Jackie of Warrenton, GA; one sister, Margaret Scherer and husband Donald of Akron, OH and very special friends, William Jack McClain and wife Brenda of Newton Falls, OH and Sharron Sherry Miller and husband Cecil of Buckhannon. Mrs. Wood was a House Parent for Boys Village. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 122 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Mausoleum. Frederick A. Williams
Frederick Arden Williams, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. He was born May 2, 1927 in Upshur Co., WV, a son of the late Gilbert and Izetta Cowger Williams. On May 23, 1948 he married Maxine Cutright who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kay Wamsley and husband Chet of Buckhannon and Lynda Bowers and husband Bob of French Creek, WV; three sons, Frederick Allen Williams and wife Linda of Parkersburg, WV, Steve Williams and wife Betty Jo of Fitzgerald, GA and Randy Williams and wife Amy of Nolensville, TN; three granddaughters; five grandsons; eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and four brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the DAV. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Thomas Gerald 'Tom' Woofter
Thomas Gerald 'Tom' Woofter, age 62, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, May 9, 2014. He was born August 1, 1951 in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Robert and Rosetta Ware Woofter. On October 3, 1975 he married Patty Ann Wilson who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Tommy Woofter and wife Ashlee and Shaun Woofter and wife Caryn both of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Sierra, Electa and Addison Woofter all of Buckhannon; four brothers, Fred Woofter and wife Shirley, Mike Woofter and wife Karen and Dave Woofter and wife Wendy all of Buckhannon and Steve Woofter and wife Florida of Weston, WV and three sisters, Linda Honaker of Amma, WV, Donna Wimer of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Woods and husband Rod of Buckhannon. Mr. Woofter retired from Weyerhaeuser. Friends will be received Monday, May 12, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Kesling Mill Cemetery at Kesling Mill, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cecil N. Williams
Cecil N. Williams, age 60, of French Creek, WV died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home. He was born August 18, 1953 in Randolph County, WV, a son of the late James and Eula Chidester Williams. On June 6, 1980 he married Judi Roby who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Jamie L. Williams and wife Kristen of Cleveland, OH, Corey N. Williams and fiance Carrie Winters of French Creek and Aaron T. Williams and girlfriend Brooke of FL; one granddaughter, Sarah M. Williams of Cleveland; three brothers, three sisters; several nieces and nephews and beloved dogs, Spooky and Lucy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Mr. Williams was a train engineer. Friends will be received Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckwheat Cemetery in Pickens, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ina Maxine Williams
Ina Maxine Williams, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born January 6, 1929 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Ina Ida Hamilton Cutright. On May 23, 1948 she married Frederick Arden Williams who preceded her in death on April 27, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three half- sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Wamsley and husband Chet of Buckhannon and Lynda Bowers and husband Bob of French Creek, WV; three sons, Frederick Allen Williams and wife Linda of Parkersburg, WV, Steve Williams and wife Betty Jo of Fitzgerald, GA and Randy Williams and wife Amy of Nolensville, TN; three granddaughters, five grandsons; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister and one half-sister. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a member of the D.A.V. Ladies Aux. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Milton Eugene (Gene) Westfall
Milton Eugene Gene Westfall, 86, of Buckhannon passed away November 28, 2014, at St. Joseph hospital in Buckhannon. He was the son of the late Arthur and Mimi Effie Westfall, both deceased. Surviving are a son, Wesley Westfall, and wife, Marilyn, of Huntington Beach, California. Daughter, Nancy Bramitt, son, Robin Westfall, one brother, Wendell Westfall of Costa Mesa, California. One sister, Bette Zollver of Bakersfield, California. A very close 1st Cousin and close companion Mona Anglin of Buckhannon. Gene was a retired school district employee in California. Who moved back to Buckhannon from California years ago. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. He was an avid student of religion, and had a special love for his granddaughter, Hannah Westfall of Huntington Beach California. Memorial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.

WILLIAM F. 'FRANK' WILFONG
William F. 'Frank' Wilfong, 87, of Buckhannon, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27 at his home, surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Buckhannon, WV on December 6, 1927. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Everett and Beatrice Wilfong, his brothers, Charles, Junior Wilfong and Donald Don Wilfong, his sister, Helen Virginia Dean and a brother and sister deceased at birth. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Vera Mae George Wilfong, son, Ron Wilfong and wife Diana of Moundsville, WV; daughter, Debbie Green and husband, Larry of Buckhannon and Grandsons, Jonathan Wilfong and wife, Stephanie of Purcellville, VA, Aaron Wilfong and wife, Michelle of Cloquet, MN; Jeremy Green and wife, Erica of Hampton, VA and Nathan Green of Clarksburg, WV. Also surviving are 3 great-grandsons, Hunter and Colton Wilfong and Channing Green and one great-granddaughter, Peyton Green. Also surviving is one brother, Glenn Wilfong and wife, Vivian of Pinson, AL and one sister, Bonnie Hardman and husband, Rev. Ed of Buckhannon, WV. He is also survived by several in-laws and nieces and nephews. Frank served our country in the US Air force for 8 years during World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired school bus driver, auto body repairman, and mechanic. He served as the Pastor at the Nutter Fort Union Mission and Summit Park Union Mission in Clarksburg, WV and attended the Buckhannon Union Mission Church. When he prayed, the presence of the Lord would fill the building. We will greatly miss him, but we know he is in the presence of the Lord, awaiting all his family and friends. Friends will be received at the Buckhannon Union Mission Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM and a service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Margaret J. Wass Wilson
Margaret J. Wass Wilson, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home while under the care of Peoples Hospice. She was born January 10, 1937 in Harrisville, WV, a daughter of the late Dewey S. and Dorsie B. Hamrick Wass. On December 26, 1958 she married Aubry Angell Wilson who preceded her in death on July 11, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband a she was preceded in death by one brother, William Ballard Wass. Surviving are one daughter, Theresa A. Wilson of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons, David Allen Wilson and wife Barbette Shannon of Buckhannon and Daniel Schley Wilson and wife Sarah Young of Morgantown, WV; four grandsons, Liam Connor Wilson of Buckhannon, Duncan Schley Wilson of Morgantown and Cameron and Casey Hefner both of Fairmont, WV; three granddaughters, Aryanna Wilson of Buckhannon and Brigid Wilson and Cayla Hefner both of Morgantown; one great granddaughter, Phoebe Tamzin Hefner of Fairmont and two sisters, Arlene McGinnis of Hickory, NC and Patricia Sue Ploehn and husband Harry of Dallas, TX. Mrs. Wilson was a Registered Nurse and attended the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Margaret was a member of the Eastern Star Harrisville Chapter #29, Daughters of the American Revolution and Holbrooks Nursing Home Aux. She graduated from the Ohio Valley General Hospital School for Nurses. Margaret started her career in nursing as a Public Health Nurse for Ritchie County, WV and the last 25 years of her career she was a nurse at Holbrooks on the Hill in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Meadows and the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ritchie County 4-H Fund 3U086% WVU Foundation 1 Waterfront Place 7th Floor P.O. Box 1650 Morgantown, WV 26507. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert L. Wright
Robert L. Wright, 84, died May 7, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born in Buckhannon, WV September 7, 1930 and had lived in the Akron area since 1968. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. After his service, he was employed as a research chemist for the Monsanto Co. at their Nitro, WV and Akron locations, where he retired in 1993 after 41 years. After retirement, he enjoyed teaching computer classes at several area senior retirement centers. He was a member of Montrose Zion United Methodist Church and American Chemical Society. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Jeffrey (Meg) and grandson, Trevor all of Fairview Park, OH; cousin, Loren Brake of Delaware; several sisters and brothers in law. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road with Rev. Dr. Walter S. Chisholm officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Monday, May 11, 2015 at Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Ohio, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. #260, Independence, OH 44131. Archie Dale White
Archie Dale White, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, June 8, 2015 at his home. He was born April 7, 1921 in Peel Tree, WV, a son of the late Avril Ray and Ethel Cutright White. On July 25, 1938 he married Alice Deeds Queen who preceded him in death on July 2, 2005. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his children Bernard and Shelia White; three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by one son, Stephen M. White and wife Ruth of Grafton, WV; one daughter, Cindy R. Gooden and husband Darrel of Buckhannon; nephew, Kenneth D. Rice (whom he raised) and wife Debbie of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren; seven-teen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Izabell Nutter of Elkins, WV, Izola Marple of Buckhannon, Minitta Lewis and husband Wayne of Lost Creek, WV and Shirley Ann Helmick of Blairesville, GA; one brother, Curtis White and wife Thelma of Volga, WV and a sister in law, Ginny White of Buckhannon. Mr. White served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a carpenter and farmer. Archie was a member of the Mt. Hermon UMC, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local # 476 in Clarksburg, WV and the WV Farm Bureau. For over 30 years Archie never missed church on Sunday. He was an active participant at the Senior Center. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack M. Bohman officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Hermon UMC c/o Susie Campbell 42 Aphem Drive Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
