Helen Ruth Wagner
Helen Ruth Wagner, age 82, Of Camden Avenue, Buckhannon, WV died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Nellas Nursing Home in Crystal Springs, WV. Helen was born December 12, 1924 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Coleman C. and Freda Day Oldaker. On July 4, 1944 she married Robert Stanley Wagner who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Lynn Wagner Vaughan and husband Dennis of Buckhannon and a sister, Dorothy Hill of Marietta, GA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Jean Wagner; a brother, Burton Oldaker and two sisters, Augustine Green and Violet Thomas. Helen was a homemaker, a member of Buckhannon Union Mission Church and a member and Past President of Mt. Olivet WSCS. Friends will be received Monday, March 5, 2007 from 6-8PM at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet Arlene Wamsley
Violet Arlene Wamsley, age 76, of Buckhannon, WV died Friday, December 1, 2006 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born November 8, 1930 in Hall, WV, a daughter of the late Charlie Smith and Ada Matilda Sothen Campbell. On August 10, 1968 she married James Ray Wamsley who preceded her in death on March 6, 1986. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Forest Campbell and Charlie Smith Campbell, Jr. and three sisters, Louise Walton, Beda Queen and Rosie Gibson. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Wilbert Campbell and wife Roslynn of Garrettsville, OH and Lafie Campbell and wife Norma of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and three sisters, Judy Beer and husband Ed of Buckhannon, Juanita Adams and husband Charlie of Buckhannon and Hazel Walton of Buckhannon. Mrs. Wamsley was a homemaker. She was a Methodist by faith and was involved with the Upshur County Humane Society. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Retha B. Waugh
Retha B. Waugh, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, December 18, 2006 at her home under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice of Buckhannon. She was born March 17, 1921 in Webster Springs, WV, a daughter of the late Oley and Donna Sears Williams. On July 10, 1948 she married John C. Waugh who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Shirley Hudak of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Paul Hudak of Buckhannon; one brother, Eugene Williams of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Corbet Williams. Mrs. Waugh was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Friday, December 22, 2006 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Beryl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery at Selbyville, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

John Carl Waugh
John Carl Waugh, age 86, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his home. He was born March 20, 1920 in Sago, WV, a son of the late Dewey and Georgia Crites Waugh. On July 10, 1948 he married Retha B. Williams who preceded him in death on December 18, 2006. John was also preceded in death by a brother, Lee Waugh. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Hudak of Buckhannon; a grandson, John Paul Hudak of Buckhannon; a sister, Sue Douglas of Freedom, PA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Waugh was a retired steel worker for the American Bridge Company, served in the US Army in World War II, was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor and was a member of Buckhannon VFW Post #3663. Friends will be received Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 12 to 2:00 PM at the Poling- St.Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Beryl McKisic officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery at Selbyville, WV. VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, and DAV chapters #5 and #36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Franklin McCoy Walls
Franklin McCoy Walls, age 86, of 11 Shumaker Rd., Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at his home while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. He was born November 17, 1920 in Gladesville, WV, a son of the late Phillip Wesley and Arzella Mae McCoy Walls. On June 29, 1951 he married Tressie Lee Scott who preceded him in death March 3, 2001. He is survived by one son, Larry Franklin Walls of Buckhannon; one daughter, Cassandra L. Martin and husband Howard of Volga, WV; one brother, John W. Walls of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Kathleen Cleavenger of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, April Heintz of Aylett, VA; one grandson, Michael Childers of Elmendorf AFB, AK; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Childers of Aylett and Mackenzie Childers of Elkins, WV; a special nephew, Carl D. Walls of Dayton, OH, and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Walls was a clerk for the Selective Service Administration. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the 30th Infantry 119 Regiment Co. G. He was in Normandy, St. Leo and wounded in Northern France. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Europe, Africa-Middle East Ribbon, 2 Bronze Stars, American Campaign Medal, WW II Occupation Medal, Army Victory Medal WW II, Army Good Conduct Medal and France Liberation Medal. He was a charter member of the Hodgesville Lions Club and a member of Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Pringle Tree Chapter # 5 DAV, Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Tuesday, March 13, from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 14 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Margaret I. (Moss) Wamsley
Margaret I. Wamsley, of Route 2, Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday 19 April 2007, at Memorial HospitalCharleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV.
She was born 11 March 1920, at Sand Run, Upshur County, WV, the daughter of the late John W. Moss and Eda S. Lantz Moss. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59-years, Winston Wendell Wamsley: Additionally, she was preceded in death by a son, Autry Wendell Wamsley; grandson, Kurt Wendell Fumerola; and three brothers: Victor Moss, C. Ishmael Moss, and L. Lairl Moss.
With a great dedication to civic duty and strong devotion to ecclesiastical service, Mrs. Wamsley demonstrated a long and altruistic record. At 73-years, she was the longest member of Nays Chapel United Methodist Church, Ellamore Charge, where she held various offices and positions. She served as representative to district (Wesleyan) and Annual Conferences (WV) of the (United) Methodist Church. In Nays Chapel, she served as vacation Bible school director, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday School Convention officer.
She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Class of 1938. In civic life, she was a founding member of the local Chapter of the Crippled Children's Association (now renamed); member of the Upshur County Republican Executive Committee; Strawberry Festival Planning Committee (during the 1950s); participant in Womens Christian Temperance Union activities; member of the Upshur County Election Poll Board; and employee of the Nutrition Service for Upshur County Board of Education.
She had fond conviction for the goals, mission, and teachings of 4-H and Boy Scouts of America. She served as both 4-H Leader and Upshur County Camp Advisor and was 4-H Charter and All-Star Member. She further served as a Boy Scout Den Mother.
Mrs. Wamsley is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Sandra W. and husband Raymond C. Kesling, of Buckhannon, WV; Mrs. Karen L. and husband JR Fumerola, of Farmdale, Ohio; and Mrs. C. Mateal and husband Matthew G. Poling, of Buckhannon, WV. She is survived also by son, Mr. Eric W. Wamsley, of Buckhannon, WV, and sister, Susan J. Osborn, of Elkins, WV. She is survived by one grandson, Kevin Q. Fumerola, of Farmdale; four granddaughters: Mikaela Irrissia, Mikenze W., and Mikinna S. Poling, all of Buckhannon. Alaina Keeney resides in Cortland, OH. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Nathaniel, Liam, Cecilia Keeney all of Cortland
Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Friday, 20 April 2007, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon. The funeral will be held 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Neal pastor of Troy United Methodist Charge, WV. Burial will follow at Mt. Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Union, Upshur County, WV. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Marie Westfall
Alice Marie Westfall, age 69, of 8 Scenic Woods Dr. Morgantown, WV died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. She was born January 5, 1938 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of the late Hubert James and Twila Pettrey Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Butch Hawkins and Jimmy Hawkins; one sister, Margaret Kahler and one niece, Amber Canter. She is survived by her husband Bennie H. Westfall whom she married on June 20, 1980. Also surviving are one daughter, Andrea Lynn Drapela and husband Larry of Leechburg, PA; three step sons, Rev. Mike Westfall and wife Libby of Buckhannon, WV, Mark Westfall and wife Theresa of Buckhannon and Brad Westfall and wife Jodie of Grafton, WV; five granddaughters, Whitney Westfall of Buckhannon, Jenna Westfall of Grafton, Sidney Westfall of Grafton, Jennifer Westfall of Buckhannon and Jaeneka Westfall of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Jason Westfall of Buckhannon, Josh Westfall of Buckhannon, Jordon Westfall of Buckhannon and Dalton Westfall of Buckhannon; two sisters, Jane Canter and husband Jim of Buckhannon and Mary Stalnaker and husband Barrett of North Carolina and several nieces. Mrs. Westfall was a Nursing Home Administrator for Heartland Nursing Home and was a member of the Pierpont Church Of The Nazarene. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tommy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Matthew Heston Wagner
Matthew Heston Wagner, age 26, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at his home. He was born September 6, 1980 in Natchitoches, LA. Matt is the son of Walter A. and Victoria Paige Spear Wagner of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sons, Austin Gage Wagner of Pineville, LA and Zaden Lane Wagner of Buckhannon and a sister Kate Elizabeth Wagner of Buckhannon. In addition to his two wonderful sons, loving sister and proud parents he is also survived by numerous friends and family members coast to coast. Matt was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Matthew was a sweet person and also a pain, are written by "Matt's little sister" but then again he is my brother, said Kate. There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Robert Stanley Wagner
Robert Stanley Wagner, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at his home. He was born December 4, 1922 in Buckhannon, WV a son of the late William Wesley and Lavina Dade Harris Wagner. On July 4, 1944, he married Helen Ruth Oldaker who preceded him in death on March 2, 2007. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lynn Vaughan and husband Dennis of Buckhannon and two sisters, Kathleen Aul of St. Augustine, FL and Betty Pierce of Hastings, FL. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Jean Wagner, three brothers, Clifford, Wilbert Boots, and Raymond Wagner; Three sisters, Marie Wright, Jo Ann Thompson, Wanda Bennett. Robert was owner/operator of Robert Stanley Wagner Contracting and built over 85 homes in Upshur County. He was a member of the Buckhannon Union Mission Church and past member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Navy in WW II and is a lifetime member of the DAV. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow at the Heavner Cemetery. VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7, DAV Chapters # 5 and # 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. James Russell Warner
James Russell Warner, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. He was born November 25, 1936 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Amos and Georgia Nora Lanham Warner. On August 26, 1967 he married Judith Ann Leonard who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Christy L. Collins and husband Andrew of Salisbury and Heather L. Warner of Buckhannon; one son, Eugene Beaver Warner and wife Kimberly of Wheeling, WV; four granddaughters, Abigail, Alyssa and Elizabeth Collins all of Salisbury and Stephanie Warner of Wheeling; three grandsons, Michael James Collins of Salisbury, C.J. and Sean Warner both of Wheeling and four brothers, Denzel Warner of Dallas, WV, Richard Warner of Wheeling, Eugene Warner of Panama City, FL and Paul Farnsworth of Wheeling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Warner. Mr. Warner was a former coal miner and a truck driver for Premier Tank Lines. He was a Christian by Faith. Friends will be received Monday, July 23, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
