Marie Foit
Marie C. Foit, 83, of Williamson, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002 at the Skilled Nursing Facility of the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.

Born June 29, 1919 in Huddy, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Issac Plymale and Margaret Lamb Plymale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Foit; a brother, Dave Plymale; and a sister, Lucille Pinson.

Mrs. Foit was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

A long standing member of the Elizabeth Chapter 37 Order of the Eastern Star, she served as past Worthy Matron, Secretary and Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls. She was also a member of Mizpah White Shrine.

A master of crochet and knitting, she taught the art through the Continuing Education Department of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.

Survivors include daughters Margaret Redwine of Williamson, Willa Jo (Bill) Evans of Hampton, Va., and Sandra (Randolph) White of Salem, Va.; a brother, Paul Plymale of Huddy, Ky.; a sister, Frances McNeely of Lavalette; six grandchildren, Amber Dawn Ross, Todd Michael Wilson, Karen Jewell, Mark Redwine, Jean Marie Parra and Catrina Marie Thompson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at Weaver Mortuary with the Revs. Allen Shouse and John Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Redwine, Todd Wilson and Gary Jewell, Randy Thompson, Dennis Ross, Larry Rosen and Bill Ball.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Weaver Mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson.

Nancy Noe
Nancy J. (Pertee) Noe, 59, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Aug. 14, 2002.

She was employed by Fazoli's for one year. Prior to that, she worked for ISI as a factory worker for seven years. She was a member of the Windsor Village Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters Dora J. Noe and Charlotte I. Elliott; brother Thomas F. Pertee; and sisters Mary Dianne Ooten and Golda J. Taylor.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Co. Guardians Home or Indianapolis Police Department.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shirley Brothers Mortuaries, Indianapolis, Ind.

Alberta Riddle
Alberta Booton Riddle, 78, of Beckley, died at her residence Saturday, August 3, of natural causes. Born March 19, 1924 in Huntington, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Va and Addie Kaufman Booton of Williamson, W. Va.

Mrs. Riddle was a member of the United Methodist Temple in Beckley and was a retired employee of AEP with 43 years of service. She was an avid square dancer and had been an active member of Calico and Jeans Square Dance Club in Beckley since 1980. Mrs. Riddle had been a resident of Beckley since 1970, having relocated from Williamson, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her first husband, C.D. DeWese Jr.; second husband, William Russell Shelton; two sisters, Mrs. Grover C. (Margaret) Meek and Mrs. George (Lillian) Harmon; and by two infant brothers.

Survivors include her husband Jack Riddle of Beckley; two nephews, William Va Harmon of Williamson and Larry Brant Meek of Austin, Texas; stepdaughter Sue Ellen Sexton of Tampa, Fla.; stepson Charles Jackson Riddle of Columbus, Ohio; step grandchild Sarah Sexton of Tampa, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Following her wishes her body was cremated. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel B. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. in the family plot in the Fairview Cemetery in Williamson. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Temple, 3871 Robert C. Byrd Dr., Beckley, W. Va., 25801.

Ruth Moorer
Ruth Van Hampton Moorer, 79, of Williamson, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born April 28, 1923 in Williamson, she was a daughter of the late Will and Minnie (Wilson) Hampton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

A homemaker, Mrs. Moorer was a member of the St. James AME.

Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Moorer of Williamson; three sons, Bruce Moorer of Williamson, Barry Moorer and Donald Moorer, both of Youngstown, Ohio; three daughters, Yvonne Southers of El Paso, Texas, Yolanda Singleton of Akron, Ohio, and Daphne Moorer of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 at Rogers Funeral Home with Thomas Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.

Sarah Chapman
Sarah E. Chapman, 91, of Chesterfield Township, Mich., formerly of the Pond Creek area, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in the Presbyterian Village East Hospital in Chesterfield Township, Mich.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.

Mary Richardson
Mary B. Richardson, 83, of Williamson, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002 at the J.J. Jordan Nursing Home, Louisa, Ky.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson.

Robert Cline
Robert E. Cline, 69, of Hanover, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2002 at Logan General Hospital.

Born Dec. 7, 1932 at North Spring, he was a son of the late Lonnie B. and Bertha Alice Davis Cline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gerald "Tuke" Cline; three brothers, Sherman Cline, Noah Cline and Tony Cline; and one sister, Lexie Justice.

Mr. Cline was a retired coal miner and member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean Cline of Hanover; two sons, Greg (Kim) Cline of North Spring and Anthony (Becky) Cline of Hanover; two daughters, Regina Wilson of Hanover and Diana (Scotty) Farr of Lester; two brothers, Russell Cline of Beckley and Ray Cline of Fortuna, Calif.; three sisters, Norma Thornsbury of Lynco, Georgia Beach of Sacramento, Calif., and Mila Traicoff of Wakeman, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Jerry Cline, Heather Cline, Stephanie Cline, Jeremy Wilson (and girlfriend Cindy Hatfield), Brittany Bryant, Scott Farr, Beth Farr, Robert Cline, Ashley Cline and Angie Cline; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at North Spring Independent Baptist Church with the Revs. Jackie Lester and Ronnie Lester officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Family Cemetery at Joe Point, Hanover.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Lester, Darrell Justice, Todd Hamrick, Gregory (Reco) Blankenship, Johnny Bryant and Larry Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Kerns, Clifford Hatfield and Fred Hatfield.

Friends may call at North Spring Independent Baptist Church at North Spring on Thursday from 6 to 11 p.m.

Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Davis
Evelyn Sue Davis, 81, of Lenore, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 24, 2001, in Mingo County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earn Davis; and three sons, Earn Davis, Jr.; Roger Lee Davis; and Lewis Davis.

A homemaker, Mrs. Davis was a member of the Nolan Church of God, Nolan,

Survivors include three sons, Simon Davis of East Kermit.; Homer Davis of Nolan; and Curt Davis of Dunlow; two daughters, Helen Blevins of Lenore; and Maggie Marcum of Pilgrim; 28 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 at the Breeden Church of Christ with Haskel Fields officiating. Visitation will be held after 11 a.m., Saturday and all day Sunday at the church.

Burial will follow in the Crabtree Cemetery at Belo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home.

Virginia Estep
Virginia Estep, 60, of Ypsilanti, Mich., died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002.

She was born March 11, 1942 in Bassfield, Miss., a daughter of the late Monroe and Aetamichia Richards Dyess.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Estep was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Lamkin; a son, Randy Estep; a sister, Ruth Shoemake; and a great-granddaughter, Molly F. Marvin.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo Estep, of Ypsilanti, formerly of Jamboree, Ky.; a daughter, Carla Lamkin (Mark) Marvin of East Jordan; a son, Jason Estep (Leslie Collins) of Ypsilanti; two bothers, James Dyess and Johnnie Ray (Jean) Dyess; one sister, Lois Hood; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 19, 2002 between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. at R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002 at the Jamboree Church of God with the Rev. Willie Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Jamboree.

Arrangements are under the direction of R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home.

Larry Walker
Larry Gene Walker, 55, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Christian, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 in Detroit.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002 at Pathway Church of God at Christian with the Revs. Harrison Williamson and Lowell Walls officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Community Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Pathway Church of God.

James Doss Jr.
James B. Doss Jr., 76, of Washington Court House, Ohio, formerly of Carroll, Ohio, and Wilburn, W. Va., died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002 at his residence.

Born Oct. 15, 1925 in Milburn, he was a son of the late James B. and Virginia (Baldwin) Doss. He was retired from the Diamond Power Co. in Lancaster, Ohio, and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Doss was a member of New Life Chapel Leesburg Church of God in Washington Court House.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary; children Dinah (John) Hill, South Bloomingville, Ohio, Linda Doss, Lancaster, Ohio, Michael (Rena) Doss, Kansas City, Kan., Jeanie Doss, Sugar Grove, Ohio, Tim Doss, Carroll, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Ohio, where funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

Birdie Muncy
Birdie Muncy, 73, of Kermit, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002.

Survivors include sons Jessie Muncy, Don Muncy, Billy Lee Muncy, Crit Muncy, Ronnie Muncy and Darrell Muncy, all of Kermit; daughters Kathern Muncy, Barbara Muncy, Vada Ann Justice and Junnie Mae Spaulding, all of Kermit, and Florence Chapman of Warfield, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at Walnut Grove Church of Christ.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Inez, Ky.
