William Joel Brewer Jr., 43, of Naugatuck, died on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1960, in Williamson, a son of William "Joe" and Martha Davis Sr. He was of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by four infant children; maternal grandparents, Wallace and Dora Davis Brewer; paternal grandparents, James and Solady Brewer; and father-in-law, Jack Jarvis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Wilma Brewer; one son, William Joel Brewer III, of the home; maternal grandmother, Mattie Howze of Naugatuck; five brothers, James (Deloris) Brewer of Lenore; Ronnie (Tammy) Brewer of Chapmanville, W. Va.; Sam (Paula) Brewer of Inez, Ky., David Brewer and Jerry Brewer both of Naugatuck; five sisters, Helen (Dale) Gore of Lenore, and Sharon (Allen) Jarvis, Judy (Cazzie) Brewer, Marty Brewer and Mary Brewer, all of Naugatuck; mother-in-law, Dorothy Jarvis; a host of nieces and nephews; seven sisters-in-law; and six brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at the Naugatuck Church of God with the Rev. Edsel Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery in Naugatuck .
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 5, at the church.

Marvin Ferrell
Marvin Devett "Red" Ferrell, 70, of Kerr Road, Portsmouth, R.I., and Bidwell, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I.
He was the born in Delbarton on Aug. 16, 1933, the son of the late Thomas and Elitha Curry Ferrell. He worked at Raytheon for 16 years, retiring in 1977 in the maintenance department. After his discharge from the military in 1955, he worked in Connecticut and Ohio. He returned to Portsmouth in 1964 and worked for Seliga Fence Company and then at Raytheon until his retirement.
He then purchased the family farm in Bidwell. He was a member of the 32nd degree, member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge in Portsmouth. He was also a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club and the Portuguese American Citizens Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia Ferrell of Portsmouth; four sons, Marvin D. Ferrell Jr. of Middletown, R.I., Gary D. Ferrell of Little Compton, R.I., Roy Ferrell and John Ferrell, both of Tiverton, R.I.; two daughters, Carolann Silvia and Veronica Ferrell-Bellivue, both of Portsmouth; six brothers, Thomas Ferrell of Delbarton, Samuel Ferrell the Rev. Clyde Ferrell, Herve Ferrell and Cloyde Ferrell, all of Bidwell, and Bernard Ferrell of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Phlorine Campbell of Charleston, W. Va., Velma Russell of Bidwell, and Lucinda White of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in the Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.

Helen Bragg
Helen Faye Bragg, 66, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away at St. Mary's Hospital
Born July 22, 1937, in Wayne County, W. Va., she was the daughter of Pete Justice and Rosie Justice. She was a homemaker and a member of Perry Point Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Justice, Robert Lee Justice, and Ronald Justice; and sister, Katerine Garvin.
Surviving are her husband, Ray J. Bragg of Kermit, W. Va.; sons, Jennings Bragg on Stonecoal and Travis Bragg of Jennies Creek; daughters, Arlene Meddings of Crum, W. Va., Patricia Chaffin of Ft. Gay, W. Va. and Darlene Davis of Cathan, Va.; brothers, Pete Justice Jr. of Ohio, John Justice of Kentucky, Donald Justice of Fort Gay; sisters, Bertha Fluty of Lavalette, W. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2004, 1 p.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel, with Bobby Perry and Jesse Stroud officiating. Burial will follow at the Bragg Family Cemetery, fives miles up Jennies Creek.
Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Ky., family at 5 p.m. and public at 6 p.m.

Levi Ingersoll
Levi Ingersoll, 74, of Red Jacket, W. Va., passed away Monday, January 12, 2004, at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born April 30, 1929, in McDowell County, W. Va., to the late Levi Ingersoll and Lora Blackburn Ingersoll, he was a retired coal miner. Mr. Ingersoll was a member of the Faith Mission Church at McCarr, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Ingersoll, Ellen Ingersoll New and Norma Lea Ingersoll Thacker.

Maggie Coleman Mullins, 58, of Red Jacket, W. Va., passed away Friday, January 23, 2004, at her home.
Born July 13, 1945, in Pike County, Ky., to Virgie Wolford Coleman of North Matewan, W. Va. and the late Anthony Coleman, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Mullins was of the Pentecostal faith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Mahon.
Surviving are her husband, Chester Mullins of Red Jacket, W. Va.; sons, Robert, Anthony and Willis Mullins all of Red Jacket, W. Va.; daughter, Mary Beth Hatfield of Newtown, W. Va.; brother, Harold Coleman of North Matewan, W. Va.; and sisters, Jenette Collins of Matewan, W. Va. and Marie Ferrell of North Matewan, W. Va.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mary Jane Hobbs Murphy, 67, of South Hill, Va. died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at her residence.
She was a desk clerk at Comfort Inn and is survived by her husband, Billy O. Murphy, a daughter, Deborah M. Burch, a son, Audie Murphy, a granddaughter she raised, Billie Jo Gwaltney, all of South Hill; three sisters, Bea Kaiser of Circleville, OH, Virginia Ferrell of Mechanicsville, and Deanna Hite of South Hill; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home.

Brandon Blake Conn
Brandon Blake Conn, 17, of Simon, WV. died Saturday, January 3, 2004 as the result of injuries sustained from an ATV accident at Long Branch Road, Simon WV.
Born February 1, 1986 at Man, WV, he was the son of Joseph "Joe B." and Hazel Freeman Conn of Simon, WV.
He was a member of the Senior Class at Westside High School at Clear Fork, WV.
Other survivors besides his parents are four sisters, Analeah Conn, Salisbury, NC, Sabrina Geter, Salisbury, NC, Shannon and husband (Timothy) Keneda, Hanover, WV, and Valeria Pennybaker, Newark, Ohio; a niece, Tiarra Geter of Salisbury, NC; a nephew, Isaac Keneda, Hanover, WV; three special friends, Farrah Toler, Brandon Vinson and Brian Toler.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2003 at Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church at Simon, WV with Rev. Lonnie Blankenship and Rev. Larry Morgan officiating.

Joseph Donald, 85, of Williamson, widower of Eunice "Saunders" Donald was called to be with the Lord January 11, 2004 in the Logan Center, Logan, W. Va.
He was born April 30, 1918 in Abbyville, S.C., a son of the late Will and Armie "Martin" Donald.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Huntington, W. Va., with Rev. Evertt Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Huntington.
Donald retired from N&W Railroad and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntington for many years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Eileen and David Bell of Williamson, W. Va.; one sister, Lois Hargo of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. at the church until service time.
