Willia Stuart
Willia E. Stuart, 90, of Huntington, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Graveside service will be conducted as 12 noon on Friday, November 5, 2004, at Mountain View memory Gardens at Maher, W. Va. by Pastor Greg Blair.

She was born November 3, 1913 to the late Richard S. and Louisa Jane Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband C. Harold Stuart and daughter Judith A. Stuart Osborne. She was a member of Westmoreland Woman's Club, VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1064, and was a volunteer at the VA Hospital for 28 years.

She is survived by one son, Richard P. Stuart Sr. of Huntington, W. Va.; four grandchildren, Terri L. Haynes of Columbus, Ohio, Richard P. Stuart and wife Elizabeth of Surfside Beach, S.C., Joseph H. Stuart and wife Sherry of Columbus, Ohio and Michael K. Start and wife Rebecca of Columbus, Ohio; eight great grandchildren, Kara Hayes, Brandon Hayes, Tyler Stuart, Tanner Stuart, Katyln Stuart all of Columbus, Ohio, Shane Stuart, Troy Stuart of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Renae Stuart of Ashland, Ky.; brother, Conley Lowe of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; two sisters, Goldie Oliver of Chesapeake, Va. and Patsy Scarberry of Turkey Creek, Ky.; and special friend Sharon Houchin of Shoals, W. Va.

There will be no visitation.

Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline Mills

Pauline Evelyn Mills was born on September 24, 1920, to Emma and Arthur Wright of Borderland, W. Va. She died on November 18, 2004, in Seattle, Wa. after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by two sons, William R. Mills of Charlotte, N.C. and Kenneth G. Mills of Seattle, Wa.; two sisters, Carol Miller and Patricia Shiflett of Buchanon, Va.; and daughter-in-law, Thoa Mills of Seattle, Wa.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Magdalene Varney and Helen Boggs; and a brother, William Wright.

She has four grandchildren, April Diehl, Dana Wade Lee and Channing Mills, all of Charlotte, N.C. and Loan Chan of Seattle, Wa.; and five great grandchildren, Devon Wade, Lindsey Lee, Madison Lee, Alexia and Ana Chan.

She will also be sadly missed by Christine Gilstrap, daughter-in-law and her beloved niece, Marsha Boggs, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she will be missed and remembered.

Pauline lived in the Williamson area all her life until recent years. She retired from Food City as assistant manager and was an active member of the East Williamson Baptist Church. For many years she served as chaperone for the Tri-Hi-Y Club on their annual summer outings to Myrtle Beach, S.C. She attended Chattaroy High School and was a member of the basketball team and various social clubs.

Pauline started work as a clerk at the old Company Store in Borderland and later worked at the Falls Branch Market before joining the old Piggly-Wiggly store on Fourth Avenue and, later, in South Williamson, eventually ending her career at Food City.

Pauline was an elegant dresser with a flair for fashion. Devoted to family and friends, she was a generous soul with an infectious laugh and gentle demeanor. During several years of declining health, she bore her travail with patient acceptance. She will be missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004, 10 a.m., at Weaver Mortuary with burial following at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Maher, W. Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 6 - 9 p.m., at the mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson, W. Va.

Melissa Hayton

Melissa "Emogene" Hayton, 77, of Varney, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004, in the Appalachian Regional Health Care facility.

She was born January 18, 1927, at Red Jacket, W. Va., the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Clay Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hayton Sr.; a daughter, Willie Edwards; a grandson, David Estep; six brothers, Curtis, Lewis, Howard, James, Rudolph and Charles Edwards; and two sisters, Myrtle Burke and Kathryn Sykes.

She was a homemaker and a retired custodian for the Mingo County Board of Education. She was also a member of the Varney Church of God for more than 38 years.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph "RL" Hayton Sr., Melvin (Lori) Hayton, Brian (Michelle) Hayton and Anthony Collins, all of Varney, W. Va.; daughters, Ruby (Kenneth) Ball of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Susie (Dallas) Estep of North Matewan, W. Va.; two brothers, Richard Edwards of Applegrove, W. Va. and Vern Edwards of Ragland, W. Va.; two sisters, Dimple Hartley and Beaulah Cantrell, both of Varney, W. Va.; a grandson who resided with her, Brodie Epling Hayton; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She will be loved and missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Varney Church of God Friday, November 26, 2004, 1 p.m., with the Rev. Gary "Bo" Starr, Rev. Gary Starr, and Rev. David Fergusson officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards-Justice cemetery at Varney, W. Va.

Visitation will be from 6 - 10 p.m. at the church Wednesday and Thursday nights with special services starting at 7 p.m. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chafin Funeral Home, Delbarton, W. Va.

Basil Parsley

Basil Parsley, 91, of Crum, W. Va., passed away Monday, November 22, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born April 17, 1913, to the late Jesse and Florence Parsley, he was a logger and a member of Riverbend Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Parsley; and sons, John Jr. Parsley and Jesse Parsley.

Surviving are his sons, James (Net) Parsley of Breeden, W. Va., Greenway (Delores) Parsley of Ft. Gay, W. Va., and Charles (Kathy) Parsley of Trent, Ohio; daughters, Gladys (Lee) Edington of Hudson, Fla., Masil (Jobie) McCoy of Port Orange, FLa., Mary (Carl) Marcum of Columbus, Ohio, Carol (Ervin) Maynard of Grove City, Ohio, Daleana Howell of Columbus, Ohio, Garnet (Cleve) Johnson of Kermit, W. Va., Grace (Gary) Kiser of Amanda, Ohio and Florence (Glen) Stepp of Grove City, Ohio; brother, Birdie Parsley; sisters, Edith Williams and Marybelle Muncy; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 25, 2004, 1 p.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel, with Luther Dingess officiating.

Burial will follow at the Parsley cemetery, Cottonhill Road, Crum, W. Va.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2004, 6 - 9 p.m. at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Ky.

Fayetta Zeek
Fayetta Zeek, 59, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at her residence.

She was born April 22, 1945, in Logan, W. Va. to the late Walter and Dove Brewer Smith.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Everett Zeek Jr. of the home; son, Clarence (Chuck) Zeek of Kermit, W. Va.; daughters, Angie (Bill) Moore of Kermit, W. Va., Tammy (Tim) Evans of Kermit, W. Va. and Tina (Kevin) Parsley of Kermit, W. Va.; five grandchildren, Samantha Preece, Colby Moore, BJ Moore, Chase Parsley and Brooklyn Evans, all of Kermit, W. Va.; brothers, Earl (Irene) Smith of Kermit, W. Va., Bruce (Ruth) Smith of Kermit, W. Va., Eddie (Pam) Smith of Kermit, W. Va. and Walter (Patricia) Smith of Dunlow, W. Va.; sisters, Sylvia Stepp of Kermit, W. Va., Bonnie (Ralph) May of Kermit, W. Va., Joyce (bill) Marcum of McArthur, Ohio and Bobbie (George) Marcum of Stepptown, W. Va.; and her faithful pet and companion, Sassy Zeek.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2004, 12 noon, at Cornerstone Church, Dingess, W. Va. with Lonnie Smith and Keith Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Smith cemetery, Marrowbone, W. Va.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2004, at Cornerstone Church, Dingess, W. Va.

Angie Walls
Angie Browning Walls, 26, of North Spring, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, W. Va.

She was born March 4, 1978, in Beckley, W. Va., to Alvin O. and Merry M. Wicker Browning of North Spring, W. Va.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2004, 11 a.m., at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert, W. Va. with Rev. Alvin Browning and Rev. Rogers Browning officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W. Va.

Friends may call the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert, W. Va., Friday, November 5, 2004, 6 - 9 p.m.

Stella Adkins
Stella Parker Adkins, 80, a resident of Raven, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at her residence.

She was born June 22, 1924 at Hurley, Va., the daughter of the late Ray and Ida Justice Parker.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Adkins; children, Billy Sullivan, Johnny Adkins and Joan Sullivan; brothers, Garland and Julius Parker; and sisters, Roxie Bishop and Birdie Justice.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by two brothers, Elwood Parker and Lloyd Parker both of Merrimac, W. Va.; and one sister, Joy Prater of Blackey, Va.

A private burial service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004, 12 noon, at the Parker Family cemetery at Merrimac.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. on Friday at the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Phelps, Ky.

Arrangements are under the direction of R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Phelps, Ky.

Paul G. Brooks
Paul G. "Greg" Brooks, 54, of Ceredo, W. Va., formerly of Williamson, W. Va., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Ceredo.

He was born June 26, 1950, in Williamson, W. Va., the son of the late Lonnie A. Brooks and Odessa Martin Brooks.

"Greg" attended Williamson High School and was a member of the Christ Temple Church in Williamson.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Aaron G. Brooks; and one sister, Carrie Brooks Kennibrew.

Survivors include one sister, Beverly Brooks Wright of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Williamson, W. Va.; and a host of other relatives.

There will be no visitation at the request of the family. The body will be cremated.

Kimberly Gooslin
Kimberly Kay Hamby Gooslin, 44, of Matewan, W. Va., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

She was born Feb. 19, 1960, at Red Jacket, W. Va., the daughter of the late Lonnie and Marie Meade Hamby.

Mrs. Gooslin was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Trent Gooslin of Matewan, W. Va.; two sons, Joshua Dale (Jami) Gooslin of Elkhorn, WI, and Derek Trent Gooslin of Matewan, W. Va.; two daughters, Terena Kaye Gooslin of San Antonio, TX, and Angela Marie Gooslin of Matewan, W. Va.; five brothers, Bill (Mary Ellen) Hamby of Marion, Ohio, Lonnie (Lisa) Hamby and Larry Joe Hamby, both of Matewan, W. Va., Ralph (Sue) Hamby of Newtown, W. Va., and Jimmy Dale (Connie) Hamby of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; two sisters, Louise Akers of Marion, Ohio, and Lois Justice of Matewan, W. Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Chambers Funeral Services' Chapel with the Rev. Dave Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, W. Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at the funeral home.

Earlie Spaulding
Earlie Spaulding, 83, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Kermit, W. Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital.

He was born March 24, 1921, in Mingo County, W. Va., the son of the late Ira and Melinda Dawson Spaulding.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Inez, Ky., with Dr. Bill Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson cemetery at Kermit, W. Va.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Inez, Ky.

Henry C. Justice

Henry C. Justice, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Chapmanville, W. Va., departed this life Saturday, November 13, 2004, at his residence.

He was born January 14, 1911 at Ragland, W. Va., the son of the late Melvin and Betsy Ann (Curry) Justice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl L. Justice; one son, Wallace L. Justice; one sister, Gladys Hunnicut; and four brothers, Jessie, Smith, Elvie, and John B. Justice.

Henry was a graduate of West Virginia University. He was a coach and principal for 38 years in West Virginia, an avid golfer who won his state's amateur golf tournament in 1965. He had 13 holes in one to his record. He was the past president of the Logan County Principals Association in 1966 and president from 1969-1970 of the State Principals Association.

He was a member of the Tallahassee Lions Club, a lifetime member of the National Education Association, the Kiwanis Club of Tallahassee and a member of the Church of Christ. He was also the author of two books, "Published Memories" in 1996 and "The Crooked Finger That Got Things Straight."

He is survived by his wife, Lavalette Justice of Tallahassee; one son, Henry C. Justice Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four sisters, Bertha Curry and Florence Toms both of Hopkinsville, Ky., Marie Ferrell of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Lillie Mae Wood of Morgantown, W. Va. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be conducted on Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home with Eddie Hunter and Greg Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road at Pecks Mill, W. Va.

Friends may call from 6 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at the funeral home.

Friends were received on Monday, November 15, at the Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla.
