Jimmy Darrell Justice
Jimmy Darrell Justice, 46, of Hanover, W. Va., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born July 14, 1958 at Welch, W. Va., he was a son of the late Nathan Justice Sr. and Lake Browning Justice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Alisha Justice; an infant sister, a brother, Nathan "J.R." Justice Jr.; and a special dog, Killer.

He was a disabled coal miner and attended the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden, W. Va.

Survivors include: his wife, Tammy Lester Justice; two daughters, Tiffany (Reco) Blankenship of Hanover, W. Va. and Amanda Justice of the home; a brother, Charles (Marlyn) Justice of Justice, W. Va.; four sisters, Maxine (David) Vest and Delennia (Edward) Ellis, both of Justice, W. Va.; Rayvene (Willie) Cline of Brenton, W. Va. and Carol Blankenship of Randleman, N.C.; one granddaughter, Makayleigh Cheyenne Blankenship; eight nieces; 17 nephews; a future son-in-law, Christopher L. Lester of Verner, W. Va.; very special friends, Mervin and Virginia Deskins of Rockhouse, W. Va. and Dallas "Dorty" Lester of Hanover, W. Va.; sister-in-law, Rhodella Justice Toler of Justice, W. Va. and a special dog, Precious.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with Rev. Carl "Cab" Wolford, Rev. Ronnie Lester and Rev. Roger Endicott officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Family cemetery located at Joe Point, Hanover, W. Va.

Active pallbearers will be James Bailey, Scotty Kennedy, Charis Ward, Ethan Browning, Brad Kennedy, Kevin Lester, Keith Godfrey and Chris Endicott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Bailey, Ronald Ellis, Dorty Lester, Doug Lester, Chassie Cline, John White, Zane Perry and Rev. Roger Endicott.

Friends may call at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2004.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mounts Funeral Home, Gilbert, W. Va.

Ellen Hatfield
Ellen Alma Hatfield, 96, of Hampden, W. Va., died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born October 18, 1908 in Gilbert, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Anna Hatfield Harrison.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by her husband, Chess Hatfield; two sons, Carl Hatfield and Ralph Hatfield; one grandson, Jefferey Hatfield; four brothers, Ken Harrison, Julius Harrison, Joe Harrison and Ferrell Harrison and four sisters, Etta Hatfield, Verdie Elkins, Octavia Browning and Zanie Harrison.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one son, Joe (Burma) Hatfield of Gilbert, W. Va.; one daughter, Janice (Larry) Radford of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, LaDonna Auvil; Valice Jo Hatfield; Jane Ann Mitchell; Scott Hatfield and Larry Todd Radford; seven great-grandchildren, Dani Lynn Auvil; Kendra Jo Hatfield; Kristina Hatfield; Mandy Hatfield; Jeff Hatfield; Nathaniel Mitchell and Nicholas Mitchell and a special caregiver, Joyce Hatfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Mounts Funeral Home chapel, Gilbert, W. Va., with Rev. Arville Cline officiating.

Burial will follow in the Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, W. Va.

Active pallbearers will be Ronnie "Buck" Hatfield, Bennie Joe Thompson, Larkin Harrison, Curt Lester, Roger Endicott and Phillip Robinson.

Friends may call 6 p.m. ­ 9 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Mounts Funeral Home chapel.

The family wishes to specially thank Carolyn's Home Care at Verner, W. Va. for their special care.

Arthur Thomas
Arthur Thomas, 63, of Genoa, W. Va., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W. Va.

He was born April 3, 1941, in Mingo County, W. Va., the son of the late Burdage and Betty Ann Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was disabled and was a member of the Little Darcus Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Ellen Thomas of Genoa, W. Va.; three step-sons, Timothy, Michael and Brandon Justice, all of Genoa, W. Va.; two daughters, Hellen Denise Block of Kermit, W. Va., and Barbara Ann Ferguson of Dunlow, W. Va.; two step-daughters, Beltrina Justice of Genoa, W. Va., and Rhonda Browning of Barboursville, W. Va.; one brother, Walter Johnson of Dunlow, W. Va.; one sister, Oretha Marcum of Kermit, W. Va.; five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at the Little Darcus Freewill Baptist Church with Minister Haskel Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Spaulding cemetery at Jennies Creek, W. Va.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at the church and until time of services on Wednesday.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, Ky.

Johnny Montgomery
Johnny Dean Montgomery, 74, of Delbarton, W. Va., passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

He was born April 4, 1930, in Delbarton, W. Va., the son of the late Chareak and Nettie Lockard Montgomery.

Mr. Montgomery was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Chester Montgomery; three sisters, Charlotte Lawson, Eula Lockard and Ruth Novatter; one granddaughter, Sierra Nicole Montgomery.

He was a tradesman and of the Jesus Only Faith.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Peggy Montgomery Griffey; one son, Johnathon Montgomery of Ragland, W. Va.; seven daughters, Shirley Jones and Cathy Payne, both of Delbarton, W. Va., Margie Parsley, Sandy Star, Darlean Lashley, Carol Todd and Brenda Montgomery, all of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Jimmy Montgomery of Ohio; one sister, Mabel Martin of Westerville, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, W. Va., with the Rev. Bud Baisden and Jimmy Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Stafford cemetery at Delbarton, W. Va.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service Tuesday.

Brandon Deem
Brandon Claypool Deem, 3-month-old infant, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 15, 2004, at Fairfield Medical Center.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 24, 2004 to Andrew and Christina Deem of Lancaster, Ohio.

He is survived by his parents, grandparents, Robert and Brenda Deem, Chris and Barbara Claypool; great grandparents, Bob and Ruby Claypool and Norma Mickey; aunts and uncles, Matthew Claypool, Martha Claypool, Robert and Holly Deem, all of Lancaster, Ohio and Rich Sellers of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; cousins, Taylor and Kaitlyn Deem and Ethan Sellers; extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2004, 1:30 p.m. in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, Ohio with Rev. Ralph N. Cordle officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given to the United Way of Fairfield County in memory of Brandon Deem, 115 S. Broad St., Lancaster, OH 43130.

Patricia Crum
Patricia Crum, 61, of Delbarton, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

She was born December 10, 1942, in Sandrock, W. Va., the daughter of the late Evelyn Syplot and the late Paul Long. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Crum of Delbarton, W. Va.; sons, Charles McDonald of Atlanta, Ga., Stephen (Tina) McDonald of Atlanta, Ga., Bubbie of Fairmont, W. Va., and Mark (Yvonne) Crum of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Ladonna of Columbus, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Chafin Funeral Home at 12 noon Friday, November 19, 2004. Officiating will be Rev. Mitchel Bias. Burial will follow at Sparks cemetery in Clifford, Ky. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.

Visitation will follow, from 6 - 9 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2004, at Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton.

Ellen Hatfield
Ellen Alma Hatfield, 96, of Hampden, W. Va., died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Fonnie Workman
Fonnie May Workman, 78, of Meador, W. Va., died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.

Born November 26, 1925 at McAndrews, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Nancy Jane May.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Workman was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Workman; two sons, Ira Charles Workman and David Wayne Workman; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Fannie Casey and one brother, Bobby May.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Workman of Meador, W. Va. and Matthew Workman Jr. of Park City, Ky.; four daughters, Virginia Ann Workman of Mishawaka, Ind.; Flora Jean Keeler of Charleston, W. Va.; Lois Workman of Beech Creek, W. Va. and Helen (John) Cisco of Pigeon Creek, W. Va.; two sisters, Betty Smith of North Matewan, W. Va. and Ann (Mitch) Winters of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; an aunt, Rhoda Hatfield of Taylorville, W. Va.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Beech Creek Church of Christ with Church of Christ ministers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ball cemetery at Thacker #11.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the church with special services at 6 p.m.

Mable Pope

Mable Pope, 93, a lifetime resident of Williamson, died in Rocky Mount, Va., where she ended this journey on earth and began an eternal life in heaven on November 6, 2004.

Born May 24, 1911, to the late Frank Angler and Rosabell Angler, she was a wonderful mother and deeply loved all her children. Mrs. Pope was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Williamson and the Rebekah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had held several offices in the Women of the Moose. She was appointed a Kentucky Colonel and served in the Silver Hair Legislature. She was an employee of Thetford Cleaners for 19 years and Brown's Dress Shop for five years.

On her 80th birthday, the mayor of Williamson proclaimed the day, May 24, 1990, as "Mabel Pope Day" in her honor.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Gilbert Pope; daughters, Pauline and Anita Sue Pope and Mary Rose Sparks; grandchildren, Eric Sparks and Sophie Edmonds; and sister, Ruby Gunn.

Surviving are her son, James Pope and his wife, Sue, of Bedford, Va.; daughters, Jean and her husband Kenneth Bevins of Roanoke, Va., Linda and her husband Charles Staton of Bedford, Va. and Patricia and her husband Larry Hudson of Central, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, Charles and Philip Pope and Julie Pope Upchurch and Mark Pope, Charles, Jim Mac and Bob Sparks, Gina Bevins Wilburn, Anita Bevins, Paige Hudson Bowers and Carrie Hudson Edmonds, James Staton and Sherry Staton Pyszkowski; 19 great grandchildren, Bryan Sparks, Angela and Andrea Sparks, Elizabeth and Jonathan Sparks, Jacob and Jimmy Pope, Eric and Jessica Upchurch, Mary Pope, Grace and Grant Wilburn, Mistie Pyszkowski Suggs and Bradley Staton, Cindy Pyszkowski Horton, Kristy Bennett, Lisa Pyszkowski Estepp, Zoie Bowers and Hudson Edmonds. She is also survived by several great-great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Clyde Childers of Charleston, W. Va.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2004, 11 a.m., at Weaver Mortuary with Revs. Roger Tinnel and Sid Copley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Maher, W. Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9, 6 - 9 p.m., at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Williamson, Fifth Avenue and Harvey Street, Williamson, WV 25661.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Weaver Mortuary, West Williamson, W. Va.

Pete Spano, II, 43, of Chattaroy, W. Va., died Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
