Crystal Canterbury
Crystal Bell Canterbury, 84, of Delbarton, W. Va., passed away Friday, January 28, 2005, at the Logan Park Nursing Home.
She was born April 11, 1920, at Bias, W. Va., the daughter of the late Walter and Janie Dempsey White.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Monroe Clennon Canterbury; a daughter, Thelma Robinette; brothers, Earl, Jack and Fred White; sisters, Holly Dempsey and Della Harrison; and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: son, Lewis jack (Carol) Canterbury of Wylie, Tex.; daughters, Karen Fraley of Matewan, W. Va. and Della Lea (Harrison) Runyon of Logan, W. Va.; brother, Zan (Christine) White of Laurel Creek, W. Va.; sister, Edna Albright of Flint, Mich.; her long time companion, Ralph Brewster; and a very special friend, Wilma Carol Brewster; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Monday, January 31, 2005, at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Curry cemetery at Elk Creek, W. Va.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 - 9 p.m. Sunday evening.

Vera Murphy
Vera Murphy, 77, of Red Jacket, W. Va., died Saturday, January 8, 2005, in Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
Born November 30, 1927, at Alumwick, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Earl C. Johnson and Lula Roberts Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Murphy; brothers, Earnest "Popeye" S. Johnson, Clarence Earl Johnson, and Franklin Dee Johnson.
She was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church at Lando, W. Va., and a homemaker.
Her survivors include brother, Boyd "Eddie" Orrell of Portsmouth, Ohio; sisters, Estelene Prater and Shirley Ferrell, both of Red Jacket. Laurette Cisco of Beech Creek. W. Va., Juanita DeHart of Matewan, W. Va., Margaret Byus, Betty Mounts, Lula Gallimore and Ellen Blackburn, all of Hillsboro, Ohio; she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at the Chambers Funeral Home Chapel in Matewan with the Revs. Jimmy Copley and Jimmy Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, W. Va.
Visitation will begin from 6-9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home with services held nightly at 7 p.m.

Columbia Hartley
Columbia Endicott Hartley, 89, of Red Jacket, W. Va., passed away Monday, February 28, 2005, at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Healthcare.
Born May 28, 1915, in Goodman, W. Va., to the late James Zenith Endicott and Eunice Fannin Endicott, she was a homemaker. She was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Hartley; two sons, William Dallas Hartley and David Allen Hartley; four brothers, Earnest, Earl, David and Emory Endicott; two sisters, Ella Blackburn and Marie Jarrell; and daughter-in-law Maggie Hartley.
Surviving are her sons, Connard Hartley of Elyria, Ohio, Zenith Joe "Pete" (Linda) Hartley of Grafton, Ohio, John (Sally) Hartley of Sheffield Village, Ohio and James (Elease) Hartley of Red Jacket, W. Va.; daughters, Anita (James) Colman of Elyria, Ohio, Willow (Thomas) Hackett of Plymouth, Mich. and Sandra Kay (David) Goad of Meador, W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005, 1 p.m., at Chambers Funeral Services' Chapel with Rev. Arnold Mollette officiating.
Burial will follow at #6 cemetery at Red Jacket. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
A private family visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2005, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the chapel.
Public visitation will then be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the chapel.

Okey Richardson
Okey Richardson, 65, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W. Va.
Born January 13, 1940, in Crum, W. Va., to the late Sherman and Ethel Richardson, he was retired from the Ford Motor Company.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Ronnie Richardson and Donnie Richardosn.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ernestine Parsley Richardson of Kermit, W. Va.; sons, Barry (Adalene) Richardson of Kermit, W. Va., Donald Gene Richardson of Kermit, W. Va., Jerry (Joann) Richardson of Kermit, W. Va. and Ronnie Glenn Richardson of Kermit, W. Va.; daughter, Sherry (Jessie) Maynard of Kermit, W. Va., ; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; 13 brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; and one very special family member, Larry David Parsley of Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, 1 p.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Ky. with William Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at the Richardson cemetery, Crum, W. Va.
Visitation will be held at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday evenings with services at 7 p.m. each night.

Nelma Newsome
Nelma Newsome, 70, of Kermit, W. Va., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
She was born January 20, 1935 in Mingo County, W. Va., to the late Edna Hannah and Mark Hannah, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold and Howard.
Surviving are her husband, Milton Newsome of Crum, W. Va.; sons, Milton Lester Newsome of Kermit, W. Va. and Bryan Newsome of Calhoun, Ga.; daughters, Grethal Blankenship of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Sherry (and her husband Andy) Louvins of Crum, W. Va.; four grandchildren, Tyler Newsome and Locasta Newsome and Breanna and Christian; brothers, Mark, Clifford, Samuel and William Newsome; sisters, Beatrice Baisden, Margie Brewer, Normie Sartin and Floria Davis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, 12 noon, at Neeley Branch United Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Ridge cemetery, Lenore, W. Va.
Visitation will be at Neeley Branch United Baptist Church beginning at 5 p.m. Friday.

Jean Wilson
Jean Carrington Ashley Wilson, 91, of Boone, N.C., passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Watauga Medical Center.
She was born March 18, 1913 in Ashe County, N.C., to the late William Oren Ashley and Bertha Taylor Ashley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lindsey Crawford Wilson; a brother, Paul Ashley; and a sister, Gay Reed.
She was a seven year veteran of the US Army, who served her country in WWII as a nurse. She attended nursing school in Williamson, W. Va.
Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Saunders and husband Jerry of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Bill Ashley of West Jefferson, N.C, David Ashley of Jefferson, N.C. and Charles Ashley of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. Surviving locally is her niece, Sandra Hurley and her husband Will, of Chattaroy, W. Va.
Funeral services were held March 5, 2005, 3 p.m., at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

Lina Mahon, 82, of Beech Creek, W. Va., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.

Margaret Collier
Margaret Ann Collier, 81, of Omar, W. Va., passed away Monday, February 28, 2005, at St. Frances Medical Center in Charleston, W. Va.
She was born February 29, 1924 at Freeman, W. Va., a daughter of the late Aronald and Lou Ann (Johnson) Williamson.
Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call from 6 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel.

Lina Mahon, 82, of Beech Creek, W. Va., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
Born January 20, 1923, in O'Keefe, W. Va., to the late Dock Lee Cisco and Isabelle Ferrell Cisco, she was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Beech Creek Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Mahon Jr.; son, Lonis Mahon; brothers, Barney, Woodrow, Marion, Freeland, Vernie and Perry Cisco; sisters, Alma Kennedy, Allie Hatfield, Louisa Cisco, Elizabeth Daniels and Alta Daniels.
Surviving are her sons, Danny (Lois) Mahon of Wharncliffe, W. Va. and Harley Bruen (Robin) Mahon of Matewan, W. Va.; daughters, Juanita (Don) Palm of Greenville, S.C., Agnes (Fred) Sherburn of Taylor, Mich., Margaret (Carl) Caldwell of Beech Creek, W. Va. and Imajean (Ronnie) Honaker of Beech Creek, W. Va.; sister, Okey Edwards of Iaeger, W. Va., Cora Mabes of Pedro, Ohio and Goldie Hill of Beech Creek, W. Va.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 13, 2005, 2 p.m., at Beech Creek Church of Christ with Evangelist Kevin Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Kennedy cemetery at Beech Creek. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after noon Saturday at the Beech Creek Church of Christ with services at 7 p.m. with Evang. J.D. Mahon officiating.

Elsie Canterbury
Elsie Lee Canterbury, 72, of Right Fork of Laurel Creek, W. Va., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 18, 1932 in Logan County, W. Va., the daughter of the late George Wesley and Pearl Conley Jones.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison Canterbury; two brothers, George Wesley and James R. Jones; and two grandchildren, James Wesley Canterbury and Justin Canterbury.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Harvest Full Gospel Church at Lenore, W. Va. She spent her earlier years devoted to the children at the Mingo Christian School as a cook, bus operator and teacher's aid.
Her survivors include sons, Pastor Tommy and wife Debra Canterbury, James and wife, the late Violet, Canterbury and Gary and wife Rose Canterbury, all of Right Fork of Laurel Creek, W. Va.; one brother, Darrell Jones of Logan, W. Va.; two sisters, Ella Jane Adams or Bellvedere, N.C. and Lillian Ruth Cronalogar of Roseville, Mich.; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the kingdom Harvest Full gospel Church Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. March 13, 2005 with the Rev. Curtis Booth officiating. Burial will follow in the Canterbury cemetery at Right Fork of Laurel Creek, W. Va.
Visitation will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. Special services will be held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Booth officiating.

Gail Kimberlain
Ethel Gail Kimberlain, 56, of Waterville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, Ohio.
Born June 20, 1948, in Williamson, W. Va., to Peggy Davis Paxton of Williamson, W. Va. and the late Hervey Davenport, she was a 1967 honors graduate of Williamson High School. She attended Marshall University where she studied business and computer technology. After college, she resided with her husband in Columbus, Ohio, where she was employed as a secretary at Ohio State University.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Ethel Davis.
Surviving are her husband, Sam Kimberlain of Waterville, Ohio; son, Barry Kimberlain of Bowling Green, Ohio; and her daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Tim Holz of Toledo, Ohio; aunt, Corenia Mayville of Williamson, W. Va.; uncles, Steve Davis, Bill and his wife, Aletha Davis of Williamson, W. Va. and Tom and his wife, Brenda Davis of Williamson, W. Va.; and a host of cousins.
Gail was a loved mother, daughter, wife, cousin and nieces who will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2005, 1 p.m., at Weaver Mortuary with Estil "Breezy" Bevins officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, March 13, 2005, 6 - 9 p.m., at the mortuary.
