Nesbith Goff Hankins

Beloved mother of Cornelius (Corney) Hankins of Charlotte, N.C., Sharline Grubb of Lady Lake, Fla. and Ernestine Runyon of Barberton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord May 31, 2004 at the age of 97 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home, Huntersville, N.C..

Mrs. Hankins was preceded in death by parents William (Tom) Goff and Nancy Rutherford Goff; husband, Estill Hankins; daughter, Sharline Horn Grubb; grandsons, Larry Horn, Terry Horn, Kenneth Runyon; great grandson, Clifton Andrew Anderson; great granddaughter Teresa Horn; and two sisters, Plumen and Eliza at a young age.

Mrs. Hankins was born April 18, 1907 at Williamson, W. Va. After three years, she and her family moved to Goody, Ky. She resided in the Pond Creek area until 1996. She then resided with her son and daughter-in-law, Corney and Jodi Hankins of Charlotte, N.C..

Mrs. Hankins retired some years ago from the Belfry High School cafeteria. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was known for her cooking and baking, also her loving care whenever a neighbor or relative needed her help. Because of poor eyesight and ill health, she missed her sewing and making handicrafts. She loved her Bible and was faithful to her Lord. One thing she really missed was her church. She had membership in the Old Regular Baptist Church at Goody, Ky.

She was the loving grandmother of Larry Horn, Terry Horn, David Runyon, Marge (Runyon) Anderson, Suzanne (Runyon) Snyder, Darlene and Sandra Hankins. Mrs. Hankins had ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
