Phillip Nunley
Phillip Andrew Nunley, 53, of 187 Meadowview Lane, Telford, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. Nunley was a Pike county, Ky. native and had lived in Telford for the past 25 years.
He was a son of the late Kenneth and Edna May Nunley.
Mr. Nunley was a US Marine Vietnam War veteran.
He was the former owner of the Jonesborough Shell Station.
Mr. Nunley was a member of Johnson City Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Collins Nunley; one son, Phillip Channing Nunley, of Telford; one brother, Gary Nunley of Pinsonfork, Ky.; two sisters, Belinda Nunley and Debbie Varney both of Pinsonfork, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Nunley will be conducted at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Johnson City Church of God, with Revs. C. Bryant Collins and Tony L. Collins officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Monday, December 6, 2004, at Fairview cemetery.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and travel in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip C. Nunley, Jamison Swiger, Rusty Lee Collins, Tony Lee Collins, David Nunley, Gary Nunley, Magnum Bradley, and Brad Collins.
Honorary pallbearers include Gary Nunley, James Coley, Harold Swiger, Rocky Collins, Ben Collins, Jody Collins, Kelly Collins, Charles Bradley, and Melvin Willis.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Josephine Gruver
Josephine L. Gruver, 83, Princeton, W. Va., of 2205 New Hope Road "The Havens" Princeton, W. Va. and formerly of Bluefield, W. Va. died Thursday, December 2, 2004, at a Bluefield hospital.
Born September 28, 1921, in Logan, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Edward Eschbach and Anna Heath Eschbach. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and formerly worked for Dr. John Mahood and was past Executive Director of the American Cancer Society and Assistant Executive Director of the American Red Cross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth K. Gruver and a brother, Charles S. Eschbach.
She is survived by her son Robert K. Gruver and his wife, Andrea, of Pickerington, Ohio; grandchildren, Kevin Gruver and Diana Gruver; sisters, Patricia Lisinski and husband, Don, of Brunswick, Ga., Gwendolyn Couch of New Berlin, Wi.; brothers, Pete Lewis of Annandale, Va. and Stephen Lewis of Milwaukee, Wi.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 6, 2004 at the Chapel of Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Brian Checchio officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Princeton, W. Va. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ralph Lynch, Buddy Parker, Larry Mutter, Paul Looney, Chad Hatcher and Doug McDaniel.

Edford Bishop
Edford Bishop, 76, of Varney, W. Va., passed away Saturday, December 4, 2004, in the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born November 11, 1928, at Wise, Va. He was the son of the late Ezra and Maggie Mullins Bishop.
He is survived by two brothers, Donald Bishop of Varney, W. Va. and Bill Bishop of Williamson, W. Va.; sister, Mabel Louise Bishop of Varney, W. Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday, December 5, 2004, at the Allen Mullins cemetery at Clintwood, Va.

Don Runyon
Don Runyon, 84, of Duncan Fork, W. Va., passed away Monday, December 6, 2004, in the Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1920 at Delbarton, W. Va., the son of the late Nicholas and Leta Estep Runyon.
He was also preceded in death by brothers Ed, Isom, Kenny, Alex and Nicholas, Jr.; sisters, Ollie Ooten, Leota Hall and Mabel Gillman.
Mr. Runyon was a retired coal miner for more than 37 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, WWII and a member and deacon of the Duncan Fork United Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Aloma McCoy Runyon; sons, Don Runyon Jr. of Chester, Va., Ronald Runyon of Delbarton, W. Va., David Runyon of Lake, W. Va. and Vernal Runyon of Chapmanville, W. Va.; daughters, Patricia Jackson of Chester, Va. and Tammy Elizabeth Hodge of Delbarton, W. Va.; two sisters, Novella Green of Ironton, Ohio and Nellie Mounts of Delbarton, W. Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Duncan Fork United Baptist Church Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2004, at 1 p.m. with the Elders Eddie Layne, Calvin Copley and Noah Ooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Estep cemetery at Scarlett Road, W. Va.
Visitation will be at the church after 6 p.m. with special services starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

James McClure
James Harry McClure, 67, of Man, W. Va., passed away Monday, December 6, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, W. Va., after a sudden illness.
He was born June 21, 1937, in Omar, W. Va., to the late Columbia Bragg McClure Kegley and the late Andrew McClure.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man, W. Va. with Bishop Anthony Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, W. Va.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6 - 9 p.m., at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Barbara Ann Bowers
Barbara Ann (Runyon) Bowers, age 60, of Decatur, Tenn., formerly of Delbarton, W. Va., went to be with the Lord following a long bout with cancer, Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Life Care Center of Athens.
She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a member of the Meigs County Lions Club.
She was half owner and operator of the Delbarton Clinic with a Johns Hopkins graduate Dr. E.B. Headley for a good number of years.
She was a licensed lab and x-ray technician. She was half owner of Bowers Funeral Home, located in Pikeville, Tenn, until sold and presently half owner of Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur, Tenn., of which she was a licensed Funeral Director and Insurance Agent.
She had a heart of gold, was a good wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Buddy Runyon and son, Scott David Bowers.
She is survived by her husband, James A. (Jim) Bowers, Sr., of Decatur, Tenn.; her son, James Allen Bowers, Jr. of Wartburg, Tenn.; her mother and step-father, Ollie and Hesse Hardin of Decatur, Tenn.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Brenda Runyon of Decatur, Tenn., James and Patricia Runyon of Ragland, W. Va. and Arvil and Emma Runyon of Decatur, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Casie Taylor Bowers of Dayton, Tenn. and Brittany Paris Bowers of Dunlap, Tenn.; one grandson, Braden Bowers of Dunlap, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of brothers and sisters in churches all over the country.
Funeral service will beheld at 2 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2004, in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Gerin, Rev. Max Redman, Rev. Taylor Colbaugh and Rev. Jimmy Maynard officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur City cemetery.

Alberta Hannah
Alberta M. Hannah, 86, of Ragland, W. Va., went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, December 8, 2004.
She was born June 17, 1918, in Wayne County, W. Va., the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Marcum Meade of Missouri Branch, W. Va. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hayden Hannah; brothers, Alton, Arthur, Solomon and Earl Meade; sisters, Faye Marcum, Arzella Meade, Hessie Nelson, Bessie McCann and Brookie Edwards; and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Breeden United Baptist Church. She always taught her children to trust in the Lord and live their lives accordingly.
Alberta was the much loved mother of her children, Dana (Tennessee) Hannah, Dallas (Cecilia) Hannah and Wanetta (Reather) Marcum, all of Cole Grove, Ohio, Elder Alton (Linda) Hannah, Hayden Jr. (Vanessa) Hannah, Everett (Diann) Hannah and Lonnie (Darlene) Hannah, all of Delbarton, W. Va. and Larry Hannah of Fredericksburg, Va. She is survived by 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
She also has a special brother-in-law Virgil Marcum of Breeden, W. Va., and special caretaker and friend, Nancy Runyon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 1 p.m., at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church at Dingess, W. Va. with the Elders Calvin Copley, Eddie Hatfield and Timmy Layne officiating. Friends may call at the church Saturday morning after 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in the Dillon cemetery at Dingess, W. Va.
Visitation will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. with special services starting at 7 p.m. with Elder Greenway Parsley officiating.

Thelma L. Ferrell, 77, of Gilbert, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, W. Va.
She was born October 12, 1927, in Powellton, W. Va., to the late Arthur and Letha Crowder Osborne.

Jim Pete Kohari
Jim Pete Kohari, 68, of Chattaroy, W. Va., passed away Monday, January 31, 2005, at his residence. Born December 6, 1936, in Borderland, W. Va., he was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Dudash Kohari.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy. Following his duty to the armed services, he was employed by Betsy Ross/Flowers Bakery for 24 years. He was a member of the Chattaroy Missionary Baptist Church for 37 years where he served as deacon for the past two and a half years. His devotion to the church was exemplified by positions he had held both past and presently as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Trustee, Brotherhood Director, Assistant Sunday School Director and Assistant Song Leader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Kohari and Frankie Kohari, and three sisters, Joann Kohari Sweeny, Julia Kohari Gondel and Liza Kohari Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Sammons Kohari of Chattaroy, W. Va.; two sons, Dr. James Timothy (Tomeka) Kohari of Forest Hills, Ky. and Mark (Tracy) Kohari f South Williamson, Ky.; one daughter, Jimetta (Billy) McCoy of Williamson, W. Va.; four brothers, Rev. Mike Kohari of Forest Hills, Ky., Rev. Andy Kohari of Williamson, W. Va., Steve Kohari and Joey Kohari, both of Chattaroy, W. Va.; one sister, Mary Kohari Hedrick of Prestonsburg, Ky.; and six grandchildren, Jaron Devin Kohari, Preston Tyler Kohari, and Trevor Cole Kohari of Forest Hills, Ky., Mallory Michelle and Cameron Parker Kohari of South Williamson, Ky. and Hannah Faith McCoy of Williamson, W. Va.
He also leaves behind his beloved church family and a host of family and friends.

John Jude Jr., 69, of Gilbert (Neds Branch Area), W. Va., passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, W. Va.
Born August 2, 1935, in Switzer, W. Va., to the late John Sr. and Minta Simpson Jude, he was a disabled coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 loving years, Lexie Stanley Jude.
Surviving are his two daughters, Diane (Brian) Frutchey of Pensacola, Fla. and Patsy Jude of Gilbert, W. Va.; three sons, John D. Jude of Gilbert, W. Va., Walter (Carol) Jude of Gilbert, W. Va. and Roy "Bush" (Cheryl) Jude of Gilbert, W. Va.; six brothers, Rex Jude of Parkersburg, W. Va., Jack Jude of Justice, W. Va., Sonny Jude of Justice, W. Va., Denny Jude of Gilbert, W.
