Ella Mae Lester, 60, of Hanover, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 11, 2007, at the Golden Harvest Nursing Home at Welch following a long illness.
Born on December 2, 1946, at her home in North Spring, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Tessie (Thornsburry) Porter of North Spring. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Lee and Cleve Porter. Ella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and a member of the Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Ella are: her loving husband of 41 years, Hassel Lester, Sr. of Hanover; her two sons: Mark Lester of Hanover, and Hassel (Kaylah) Lester, Jr. of Gilbert; her two grandchildren: Morgan Tyler Lester of Sun Hill, and Addison Elle Lester of Gilbert; her two sisters: Juanita Trent and Barbara Shupe; her six brothers: Steve, Doug, Charles Jr., Joey, Edgar, and Timmy Porter; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert with the Rev. Dennis Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Cline cemetery at North Spring. Friends and neighbors served as pallbearers.

Howard Slone, 74, of Isaban, departed this life on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at his residence.
Born on February 18, 1933 at Trace Fork, he was the son of the late Jim and Hattie (Fields) Slone.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kelsey Slone and nine brothers and sisters.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Howard are: his brother, William (Goldie) Slone of Tennessee; his three sisters: Liza Mcfaddin, Lola May (Harvey) Yoder, and Faye Wilson, all of Ohio; his best friends: Dott Justice of Isaban and Dustin Vanover of Iaeger; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him greatly.
Friends called at the Isaban Church of God at Isaban on Sunday, November 11th after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Isaban Church of God with the Rev. Tom Fife officiating. Burial followed in the Four Pole cemetery at Mohawk.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mary Alice Allen, 76, of Justice, departed this life on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the John Peter Smith Cancer Center.
Born on March 10, 1931 at Stopover, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Florence (Ferrell) Robinett.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Rickey Allen, and two brothers: Charlie and Lincoln Robinett.
Mary Alice was a beautician who owned and operated Alice's Beauty Shop, she also owned and operated several restaurants in the Gilbert area and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Mary Alice are: her two sons: Rocky Michael (Tammy) Allen of Crestwood, KY, and Jon Paul Allen of Justice; her four daughters: Ginn Allen Cline and Terri (Carl) Fuller, both of Justice, Debs (Herb) Hatfield of Delbarton, and Penny Meade of Gilbert; her eleven grandchildren: Scott Cline, April Toler, Cami Layne, Travas Hatfield, Rocky Davis, Bridgett Sandusky, Crystal Dugan, Matthew Meade, Rickey Allen, Jonnah Browning, and Joshua Allen; her six great grandchildren: Savannah Cline, Mason and Kagan Layne, Ashton Davis, Kingston Dugan, and Haley Toler; her brother, Frank Robinett of Stopover, KY; her two sisters: Betty Pascute of Warren, OH, and beloved sister Nellie Trent of Justice; and a host of family and friends who will miss her greatly.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, November 11th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Evangelist Wayne Justice officiating. Burial followed in the Justice Community cemetery at Justice. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Travas Hatfield, Rocky Davis, Matthew Meade, Scott Cline, Rickey Allen, and Joshua Allen.

Naomi Laura Morgan, 86, of Brenton, when home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Appalachian Regional Hospital at Beckley.
Born on June 10, 1921, at Coal Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Light and Fleety Ann (Toler) Hatfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Morgan, Jr.; her sisters: Belva Phillips and Shirley Vint; and her brothers: Howard, Bernie and Robert 'Buster' Hatfield.
Naomi was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Naomi are: her daughter, Betty (Mack) Fortner of Brenton; her two grandsons: David (Patricia) Fortner of Rhodell, and Stephen (Christy) Fortner of Oceana; her granddaughter, Anita (Kelly) Hatfield of Marianna; her great grandchildren: Brandy Hatfield and Cody and Faith Nicole Fortner; her brother, Eugene Hatfield of Coal Mountain; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church at Coal Mountain, on Friday, November 2nd from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Hatfield officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Coal Mountain. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Rosa Lee Dean, 75, of Riverview section of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at Logan Regional Hospital.
Born on May 28, 1932, at Mud Fork section of Logan, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Ruby (Wimmer) Stevens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Saul 'Buster' Dean; one son, Larry Joe Dean; her Maternal Grandmother, Annie Robinson; her brothers: Gordon and Lee Robinson; her granddaughter, Michelle Browning; and several other family members and friends.
Rosa was a homemaker and a member of the Riverview Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Rosa are: her five sons: Bobby (Linda) Dean of Medical Lake, WA, Tommy (Ruth) Dean of Bruno, Johnny (Dianna) Dean of Verner, Pete (Sandra) Dean and Billy Joe (Dee) Dean all of Riverview; her six daughters: Loretta (Chris) Toler of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Evelyn (Enos) Blankenship, Jeannie (Drewey) Wolford, and Lisa (Michael) Browning, all of Riverview, Belinda (Darryl) Dye of Douglasville, Georgia, and Phyllis (Dennis) Miller of Winston, Georgia; her eight grandsons: Joey Browning of Brunswick, Georgia, Eric Dean of Medical Lake, WA, Luke (Kim) Dean of Baisden, Jeffery Wolford, Nicholas and Joshua Dean all of Riverview, Matthew Dye of Douglasville, Georgia, and Austin Miller of Winston, Georgia; her four granddaughters: Katrina Dean (Matt Sinner) of Prosser, WA, Hope (Brian) Browning of Bolt, Rose (JR) Salmons of Riverview, and Katherine Dye of Douglasville, Georgia; her seven great grandchildren: Jared and Rylee Browning of Bolt, and Gina and Richie Smith of Baisden, Brooke, Shelby and Jessie Nicholas of Savannah, Georgia; her brother, Buddy (Pam) Robinson; her four sisters: Geraldine Huddleston of Waynesboro, Georgia, Zola (Eugene) Toler of Palestine, Melvie (Tom) Cline of Verner, and Jo Ann (J. B.) Sowders of Tennessee; and a great host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, November 2nd from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Grimmett and Brother Gary Browning officiating. Burial followed in the Hollywood cemetery at Gilbert.
Active Pallbearers were her Grandsons and Family.
Honorary pallbearers were: Bobby Dean, Tommy Dean, Johnny Dean, Pete Dean, Billy Joe Dean, Enos Blankenship, Michael Browning, Drewey Wolford, Darryl Dye, Dennis Miller, Danny Ball, and Jerry Grimmett.

Helen Louise Bishop, 83 years old, of Gilbert, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 29, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. Born on March 15, 1924 at Omar, she was the daughter of the late Roy T. and Mary Pearl Arthur Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cush Browning; her second husband, Newman 'Moon' Grant; her third husband, Howard Bishop; and her four brothers: Roy, Raymond, Clifford, and Billy Smith.
Helen was a homemaker and a member of the Verner Community Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Helen are a host of step children, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be help at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Grimmett and the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Bishop, Russell Tiller, Jimmie Tiller, Bob Griffith, Butch Poe, and Junior Browning.

Carlos Dwayne Mounts, of Varney, WV, returned to be with his Lord, Savior, and Creator, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Carlos was the son of William and Tina (Pennington) Mounts.
Those preceding him in death are his great grandmothers: Lois Culver and Jewel LaRue.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Carlos are his parents, William and Tina Mounts; his five brothers: Joshua Cole Mounts, Kenny Mounts, William Mounts, Jr., Gregory Moore, and Zack Pennington; his sister, Samantha Owens; Maternal grandparents, Dwayne and Betty LaRue; Paternal grandparents, Marcella Smith and Carlos Mounts; and paternal great grandmother, Ocie Damron; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lanny Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV.
Pallbearers were: Dolen Trent, Dewey Trent, Davy Trent, Jack Crawford, and Mike Hunter.

Paul Dale Greer, 49 of Justice, WV, departed this life on Sunday, September, 23, 2007, at his residence.
Born on October 9, 1958, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Dale "Bud" and Janet Greer.
Paul graduated from Gilbert High School in 1977. He was a mechanic/truck driver. He was a motor-sports enthusiast and outdoorsman. He loved to 4-wheel, camp and fish. He was an avid sports fan, especially WVU Mountaineers.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Paul are his two brothers: Jim Greer of Kansas City, MO, and George (Pam) Greer of Phoenix, AZ; his three sisters: Margaret (Sonny) Talbert of Summersville, WV, Mary Jo Greer of Phoenix, AZ, and Gloria (Steven) Neuharth of Glendale, AZ; his six nephews and four nieces; and a host of friends.
Paul's passing has left emptiness in our hearts and lives. We will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at the RD Bailey Dam Overlook at Justice, on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of gifts the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association in the name of the Paul.
Burial will be in Nebraska.

Minnie Ree (Dotson) Lockhart Bailey, 58 of Panther, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 19, 2007, at her residence.
Born on December 2, 1948 at Mohawk, she was the daughter of the late Hannibal and Alafair (Coleman) Dotson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver Lockhart, Jr., and one brother, Jinks Dotson.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, and a member of the Greenbrier Freewill Baptist Church at Panther.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Minnie are her husband, Vernon Bailey; her daughter, Sandra (Terry) Blankenship; her grandson, Terry (Santana) Blankenship, all of Panther; her two step daughters: Cathy Lockhart of Panther and Debbie (Garland) Cline of Mohawk; her step son, Larry Bailey of Panther; her two step grandchildren: Gennell Cline of Bluefield and Joshua Cline of Mohawk; her two step great grand children: Kaylee and Caden Cline of Bluefield; her two sisters: Phyllis (Ralph) Riley of Panther and Bonnie (Teddy) Cline of Lincolnton, NC; two special friends and caregivers: Susan Blankenship, Patsy Estep, and Lora Blankenship; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Greenbrier Freewill Baptist Church at Panther on Monday, October 22, 2007, after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at the Greenbrier Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawyer Bailey, Jr., and the Rev. Delbert Hurley. Burial followed in the Blankenship cemetery at Panther. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
