Cornell Lester, 57, of Baisden, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Born May 7, 1950, at Baisden, he was the son of the late Ermel and Addie Cline Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Cornell Lester, Jr.
Mr. Lester was a retired coal miner and of the Baptist faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Cornell are his daughter, Twila Smith; his grandson, Dustin Smith; both of Baisden; his granddaughter, Karissa Lester of Verner; his loving ex-wife, Debbie Lester of Bluefield; his two sisters: Marilyn Daniels of Max Meadows, VA, and Ginger McArthur of West Salem, WI; his aunts and uncles: Don (Julie) Lester, Mary Cline, Martha Cline, Floyd Lester and Gladys Rutledge; his loving nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Cline and the Rev. Billy Beheler officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Log cemetery at Baisden. Pallbearers were: Dexter Bailey, Johnson Bailey, Jordan Cline, Ermon Cline, Joe Daniels, Jason Saunders, Brad Birchfield, Jimmy Cline, and Sidney Lane.

Terry 'Rat' Wayne Mounts, 49, of Kistler, departed this life on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical, Logan, WV.
Born, July 31, 1958, at Welch, he was the beloved son of Boyd and Barbara Mounts of Browning Fork section of Gilbert.
Terry was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Boyd Mounts, his Maternal Grandparents, Kelly and Ettie (Harrison) Hatfield; and his Paternal Grandparents, Floyd and Lilly Mounts.
He was a disabled coal miner and of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Terry are his loving wife of 13 years, Kristi Michelle Mounts; his two sons: Tyler Wayne Mounts and Jeremy Shane Grimmett both of the home; his three sisters: Benita (Joe) Blankenship and Tonya (Roger) Hatfield, both of Browning Fork; and Tammy (Brad) Fenster of Lexington, KY; his niece, Amy Leigh Fenster of Lexington, KY; his nephew, Adam Brewster of Browning Fork; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tim Robertson of Groveport, OH; his mother-in-law, Norma Jean Grimmett of Accoville; and a host of friends.
Friends may call at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden, on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 6 to 10 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer, with the Rev. Diamond Carter and the Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery, Pecks Mill. Pallbearers will be: Tim Robertson, Shaun Grimmett, Rick Hatfield, Curtis Hatfield, Lanny Hatfield, Aaron Brown, Adam Brewster, and Kenny Cline.

Hazel O'Neil (Toler) Christian, 82, of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 1, 2007 at her residence.
Born, December 30, 1924, at Kistler, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Florence M. (Burgess) Toler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Christian; 1 daughter, Tressa Fay Toler; 6 sisters: Mable Hilbert, Melva Toler, Messel Toler, Edith Toler, Millie Toler, and Ivy Pauline Mitchell; and 2 brothers: Roy and Dolliver O. Toler. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, a retired restaurant cook, a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith, and a member of the Woodmen Lodge No. 334.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Hazel are her children: Mickey (Roy) Goff, Orville (Alafair) Christian, Audrey (Pete) Cline, and Drewey Christian, all of Gilbert; and Midge (Chris) Rowe of Christiansburg, VA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Alta Waters; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter, Rev. Barry Brooks, and the Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial follow ed in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Michael Cline,

Nancy Marie Blankenship, 25, of Baisden, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at her residence.
Born, November 10, 1981, at Man, she was the daughter of the late Audrey Blankenship who passed away September 21, 2003.
Survivors include special friends: Carlos Cline, David Ratcliff, Jerry (Happy) Blankenship, Iven and Geraldine Blankenship, Jessica Whitt, Sonja Brown, Virginia Blankenship and a host of family and friends.
She will be missed by all who knew her, her family, classmates, friends and neighbors.
There were no visitation or funeral services for Ms. Blankenship.
Final resting place is the Rufus Blankenship cemetery, Mud Lick Hollow, Baisden, WV.

Leona Dotson Ellis, 85, of Columbus, OH, departed this life on September 21, 2007 at her residence. Born January 1, 1922, at Glen Alum, she was the daughter of the late Roby and Becky (Ward) Dotson.
Leona was a retired general laborer for the Simmons Mattress Company, and of the Holiness Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Ellis, Sr.; her son, Frank Ellis, Jr.; one sister, Jane Dotson; and three brothers: Hiarm, Walt, and Ray Dotson.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Leona are her daughter, Betty (Rayburn) Blankenship of Delbarton; her two sons: Douglas (Jennifer) Ellis of Columbus, OH, and Elmer (Nita) Ellis of Shelbyville, TN; her sister, Sally Jessie of Oceana; her brother, Charlie Dotson of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; and a very special pet, Tammy.
Friends called at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Monday, September 24, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Carl Wolford and the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Fork cemetery at Wharncliffe. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Gerald Stafford, 49, of Hanover, departed this life on Friday, September 21, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV, after a brief illness.
Born, October 22, 1957, he was the son of IvaLee Adkins of Lenoir, NC, and the late Arlan "Little Boy" Stafford of Hanover. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by a nephew, Heath Arlan Stafford. He was a member of the Hanover House of Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Gerald are his mother, IvaLee Adkins of Lenoir, NC; his son, Roland Jerald Stafford of Hanover; his daughter, Amy Lynn Stafford of Hanover; his sister, Yavonne (Kip) Little of Lenoir, NC; his step-mother, Delores Stafford of Hanover; his 3 half-sisters: Terena (Tony) Hatfield of Coal Mountain, Arlena (Pedro) Reyes of South Hill, VA, and Tonya (Curtis) Lowman; his 2 nieces: Madison Hatfield of Coal Mountain, and Chelsie Reyes of South Hill, VA; his nephew, Robert Reyes of South Hill, VA; a special friend, Bonnie Godfrey of Hanover, and a host of family and friends.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert on Sunday, September 23, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the West & Morgan cemetery at Josh's Fork, Simon, WV. Pallbearers were: Kevin & Edward Daniels, Robert & Pedro Reyes, and Christopher Stafford.

Onnie Mitchell, 94, of Gilbert, where he made his home for the last 87 years, departed this life on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Carthage Tennessee.
For the past several months he had been living with his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Dale Mitchell and his son Rodger L. Mitchell both of Tennessee. Born, March 19, 1913, at Emmett, WV, Logan County, he was the son of the late Micajah G. Mitchell, born September 24, 1842 and died March 1929, and Cora (Toler) Mitchell, born 1880 and died 1930. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Hattie (Cline) Mitchell; a son, Onnie Edward Mitchell; a grandson, Casey Mitchell; 3 borthers: fraternal twin brother, Connie Mitchell; Cager "Little Cage" Mitchell; and Johnny Mitchell; 2 sisters: Rindy (Mitchell) Browning and Lula Mitchell; 6 half brothers and 5 half sisters.
Onnie was something of a rarity he was what was known as a real son of a Civil War soldier. His father was a soldier in the American Civil War.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Onnie are his dear children: Shirley (Paul) Shrewsberry of Mooresville, NC; Rodger L. Mitchell and Beverly Churchill of Lebanon, TN; Bonnie Mitchell of Gilbert; Reuben (Robin) Mitchell of Baisden, WV; Dr. Elizabeth Dale Mitchell and Randy Tarpley of Brush Creek, TN; and Debbie (Kenny) Mitchell of Chandler AZ; his 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, Ana Renee Hernandez; 2 special nieces: Linda Blankenship and Roxanna Sloan; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cresong officiating. Burial followed in the Justice cemetery, Justice WV. Pallbearers were: Shane Mitchell, Cody Mitchell, Kenny Mitchell, Mack Blankenship, Keith Mitchell and Jeff Pierson.

Tonya Lea Keene, 33, of Accoville, departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at her residence. Born, December 10, 1973, at Man, she was the daughter of Rita (Keene) Rowe and James Johnston. Tonya was a homemaker and a member of the Crown Greater Vision Church of God. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sampy and Pearl Keene, paternal grandparents, David and Freda M. Johnston, and her future husband, Harold Mike Denham.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Tonya are her mother, Rita Rowe, of Lorado; her father, James Johnston of Bruno; her two sons: Zachary May and Micah Denham of Lorado; her sister, Carie Allen of Verdunville; her step-father, Barry Rowe of Lorado, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, family and friends.
Friends may call at the Crown Greater Vision Church of God on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 6 to 10 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at the Crown Greater Vision Church of God with the Rev. Randy Harvey and Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Burial will follow in the Coal Mountain Community cemetery at Coal Mountain.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Keene, Barry Rowe, Sampy Keene, Jr., James Johnston, Kevin Allen, Richie Lester and Cody Allen.

Oliver S. 'Junebug' Stanley Jr., 41, of P.O. Box 170, Premier, WV 24878, departed this life suddenly on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
Born May 29, 1966, at Welch, WV, Junebug was the son of the late Sherry L. Roberts and Dennis Roberts of Avondale, and Oliver S. Stanley of Avondale.
Junebug's career has been in trucking, either employed or self-employed. He was most recently disabled.
Survivors include many family and friends but we mention: one son Brandon Allen Stanley of Panther, WV, fiancée April Roberts, of the home in Premier WV, one brother Timothy Roberts and wife Tonya Roberts of Rock, WV, sister, Sabrina Mullins, and husband Charles Mullins of Avondale, WV, step brothers and sisters were the late Rodney Rutherford, Terry Graham and husband and Eddie Riffe and family.
Nieces and nephews: Alyssa Brown, Farrah Mullins, J. T. Roberts, Katelyn Roberts, Rodney and Shane Graham, and a special niece Sasha Muncy.
Grandparents: Violet Muncy, the late James T. Muncy, Mabel Stanley and the late Burl Stanley, Bessie Addair and the late Luther Roberts.
Aunts and Uncles: Pearl and Freddie Parson, the late Bobbie Smith, Velva Franklin, William and Ruth Muncy, Mary and Otto Bailey, Darrell and Vicki Muncy, Diane and Luther Addair, Julia and Fred Masi, Christine and Joe Jones, Larry and Kay Roberts, the late Debbie Stinson, Esther Roberts, Barbara Roberts, the late Charles Roberts, Eddie and Rebecca Stinson, Hazel and Larry Addair, Roger and Sherry Stanley, Buster and Bernice Stanley, D. C. Stanley, Jimmy and Johnny Mae Stanley, Rex & Rocky Addair, Tootsie Baker, Cricket and John Donnelly with a host of cousins.
Junebug often talked about his family and friends and how much he treasured each moment he spent with them. He loved having family and friends around. Some of his most rewarding times were spent coaching T-ball and little league and times spent playing baseball and football when he was younger. With that in mind we would like to mention a few of his childhood friends and cousins that he has mentioned that they always 'felt like' brothers and sisters: Kevin Lonnie (Jr), Ricky and Carrie Roberts, Scottie, the late T.J., Terry, Brain and Lisa Jones, Gary and Chucky Stinson, Corbot Coleman, Timmy Addair, and the late John Mitchem, Rodney, Dedire and Billy Waldron, Dewayne and Timmy Roberts, Joey, Sandy and Jimmy Smith, Timmy, Kathy, Jimmy, Lynn, Jeff and Tracy Stanley, David and Jeff Hopkins, Dawn and Sandy Parsons, Wayne Jones, Eddie Delp, Homer Baker, Jan & Eric Cooper, Crystal, Kimberly and Steven Jones and others not mentioned.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Independent Church of God at Avondale, at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, with the Rev. Danny Bowles officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Family cemetery at Cotton Branch of Avondale. Active Pallbearers will be Andy Andrigo, Chico Justus, Kevin Roberts, Eddie Delp, Richard Addair, Jeff Hopkins, Homer Baker and other friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy McCoy Sr., Arthur Christian, Shag Addair, Jackie Roberts, Halsey Roberts, Jr., and Billy Roberts.
Friends may call at the Independent Church of God at Avondale, WV, on Monday, September 3, 2007 from 6 to 9 PM.
Mounts Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangement.
