Cornell Lester, 57, of Baisden, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Born May 7, 1950, at Baisden, he was the son of the late Ermel and Addie Cline Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Cornell Lester, Jr.
Mr. Lester was a retired coal miner and of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Cline and the Rev. Billy Beheler officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Log cemetery at Baisden. Terry 'Rat' Wayne Mounts, 49, of Kistler, departed this life on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical, Logan, WV.
Born, July 31, 1958, at Welch, he was the beloved son of Boyd and Barbara Mounts of Browning Fork section of Gilbert.
Terry was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Boyd Mounts, his Maternal Grandparents, Kelly and Ettie (Harrison) Hatfield; and his Paternal Grandparents, Floyd and Lilly Mounts.
He was a disabled coal miner and of the Baptist Faith.

Hazel O'Neil (Toler) Christian, 82, of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 1, 2007 at her residence.
Born, December 30, 1924, at Kistler, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Florence M. (Burgess) Toler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Christian; 1 daughter, Tressa Fay Toler; 6 sisters: Mable Hilbert, Melva Toler, Messel Toler, Edith Toler, Millie Toler, and Ivy Pauline Mitchell; and 2 brothers: Roy and Dolliver O. Toler. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, a retired restaurant cook, a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith, and a member of the Woodmen Lodge No. 334.

Nancy Marie Blankenship, 25, of Baisden, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at her residence.
Born, November 10, 1981, at Man, she was the daughter of the late Audrey Blankenship who passed away September 21, 2003.
Survivors include special friends: Carlos Cline, David Ratcliff, Jerry (Happy) Blankenship, Iven and Geraldine Blankenship, Jessica Whitt, Sonja Brown, Virginia Blankenship and a host of family and friends.
She will be missed by all who knew her, her family, classmates, friends and neighbors.
There were no visitation or funeral services for Ms. Blankenship.
Final resting place is the Rufus Blankenship cemetery, Mud Lick Hollow, Baisden, WV.
Leona Dotson Ellis, 85, of Columbus, OH, departed this life on September 21, 2007 at her residence. Born January 1, 1922, at Glen Alum, she was the daughter of the late Roby and Becky (Ward) Dotson.
Leona was a retired general laborer for the Simmons Mattress Company, and of the Holiness Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank Ellis, Sr.; her son, Frank Ellis, Jr.; one sister, Jane Dotson; and three brothers: Hiarm, Walt, and Ray Dotson.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Leona are her daughter, Betty (Rayburn) Blankenship of Delbarton; her two sons: Douglas (Jennifer) Ellis of Columbus, OH, and Elmer (Nita) Ellis of Shelbyville, TN; her sister, Sally Jessie of Oceana; her brother, Charlie Dotson of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; and a very special pet, Tammy.

Gerald Stafford, 49, of Hanover, departed this life on Friday, September 21, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV, after a brief illness.
Born, October 22, 1957, he was the son of IvaLee Adkins of Lenoir, NC, and the late Arlan "Little Boy" Stafford of Hanover. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by a nephew, Heath Arlan Stafford. He was a member of the Hanover House of Faith.

Onnie Mitchell, 94, of Gilbert, where he made his home for the last 87 years, departed this life on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Carthage Tennessee.
For the past several months he had been living with his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Dale Mitchell and his son Rodger L. Mitchell both of Tennessee. Born, March 19, 1913, at Emmett, WV, Logan County, he was the son of the late Micajah G. Mitchell, born September 24, 1842 and died March 1929, and Cora (Toler) Mitchell, born 1880 and died 1930. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Hattie (Cline) Mitchell; a son, Onnie Edward Mitchell; a grandson, Casey Mitchell; 3 borthers: fraternal twin brother, Connie Mitchell; Cager "Little Cage" Mitchell; and Johnny Mitchell; 2 sisters: Rindy (Mitchell) Browning and Lula Mitchell; 6 half brothers and 5 half sisters.
Onnie was something of a rarity he was what was known as a real son of a Civil War soldier. His father was a soldier in the American Civil War.

Tonya Lea Keene, 33, of Accoville, departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at her residence. Born, December 10, 1973, at Man, she was the daughter of Rita (Keene) Rowe and James Johnston. Tonya was a homemaker and a member of the Crown Greater Vision Church of God. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sampy and Pearl Keene, paternal grandparents, David and Freda M. Johnston, and her future husband, Harold Mike Denham.

Oliver S. 'Junebug' Stanley Jr., 41, of P.O. Box 170, Premier, WV 24878, departed this life suddenly on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
Born May 29, 1966, at Welch, WV, Junebug was the son of the late Sherry L. Roberts and Dennis Roberts of Avondale, and Oliver S. Stanley of Avondale.
Junebug's career has been in trucking, either employed or self-employed. He was most recently disabled.
Survivors include many family and friends but we mention: one son Brandon Allen Stanley of Panther, WV, fiancée April Roberts, of the home in Premier WV, one brother Timothy Roberts and wife Tonya Roberts of Rock, WV, sister, Sabrina Mullins, and husband Charles Mullins of Avondale, WV, step brothers and sisters were the late Rodney Rutherford, Terry Graham and husband and Eddie Riffe and family.
Nieces and nephews: Alyssa Brown, Farrah Mullins, J. T. Roberts, Katelyn Roberts, Rodney and Shane Graham, and a special niece Sasha Muncy.

Junebug often talked about his family and friends and how much he treasured each moment he spent with them. He loved having family and friends around.
