Grover Thomas, 84, of Gilbert, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Born, June 11, 1923, at Hanover, Wyoming County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Mary (Mullins) Thomas. He was a retired timber man and of the Freewill Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Blankenship) Thomas. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Grover are his three sons: Larry (Tammy) Thomas, Robert (Michelle) Thomas and Charles Thomas, all of Gilbert; two daughters: Wanda Bentley and Gloria (Randy) Poe of Gilbert; one brother, Woodrow Thomas of Gilbert; seven grandchildren: Angela, Joshua, Larry Thomas, II, and Juston Thomas all of Gilbert, Shawn Clay of Girffithville, WV, Melissa Wiley of Oceana, Ruby and Phillip Lewis a great grand son-in-law of Winfield. Additional survivors include, five great grandchildren: Terri Nichole, Rebecca Leann, and Melody Renea, all of Griffithville, WV, Michael and Christopher Wiley of Oceana. Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, August 4, 2007 from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denny May and the Rev. Tommy Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Memorial cemetery at Riverview, Gilbert. Pallbearers will be Junior Hatfield, Chris Stevens, Leslie Clay, Mike Wiley, Kevin Blankenship, Doyle Richards, David Richards, Jason Ball, Larry Hatfield, and Danny Ray Ball II. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV. 25702.

Jerry Mangus, 64 of Ocala, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, in The Legacy House following a long illness. Born on April 7, 1943, in Man, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Millard and Sybil Mangus. He was a retired coal miner. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Ella Mae (Trent) Mangus; three daughters, Sherry Mangus Rogers (Daren Williams), Jennifer (Scott) Stewart, and Trish (Mike) Eubanks; one son, Eugene (Jan) Ellis, all of Ocala, Florida; two brothers, Jack (Brenda) Mangus of Huddleston, Virginia, and Robert (Margeret) Mangus of Blountville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Dakota Rogers, Hallie Linville, Courtney Eubanks, Jerrid Mangus, Christopher Linville, Derrick Linville, and Anthony Ellis; five step grandchildren: Kortnee Eubanks, Brian Stewart, Robert Stewart, Josh Parrish and Jason Parrish; one cousin, Helen Mangus Green of South Dakota, and a host of nieces and nephews. Additional survivors are his special friends: David & Lisa Lowman, Shane & Sabrina Campbell, Wayne & Letha Slayton, Bill Boothby, Donna Sturgill, Elmer & Dorothy Trent, Jim & Beverly Conway, Merial & Bill Thomas, Roger & Louise Muncy, Kay Williams, and many other friends and family that meant so very much to Jerry. Friends may call at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden, WV, on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Full Gospel Church of God with the Rev. Jonas Trent and the Rev. Clifford Trent officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV. Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Donnie Ray Cline, 29, of Baisden, departed this life on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born, October 9, 1977, at Man, he was the beloved son of Danny and Orangie (Lester) Cline.
Donnie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill & Magoline Cline and his maternal grandfather, Hilden Lester.
In addition to his parents those left to love and cherish the memory of Donnie are his sister, Valerie (Jamey) Lester; and his niece, Hailey Lester, all of Baisden; his maternal grandmother, Lula Lester of Mallory; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden, on Tuesday, July 24, 2007, from 6 to 10 PM. Funeral services were held at the Full Gospel Church of God on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jonas Trent and the Rev. Learmon Mounts officiating. Burial followed in the Cline cemetery at Baisden. Pallbearers were : Dustin Smith, Nixon Cline, Rex Cline, Jamey Lester, Bill Ellis, Jimmy Keith West, Peanut Cline and Brian Keith Lester. Honorary pallbearers were: Johnson Bailey, Brandon, Ricky Lester, Richard Smith and Gary Wayne Blankenship.

Monique Faith (Cline) May, 41, of Baisden, departed this life on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born March 20, 1966, at Welch, she was the daughter of Butch and Kathy (Shull) Cline of Hanover.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: J Cline and Jequetta Cline of Hampden and Gretta and Frank Shull of Verner; one nephew, Todd Hatfield; and one cousin Randy J. Cline, both of Hampden.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Gregory May; one son, Gregory May II; one daughter, Tristan May, all of Baisden; two sisters: Cindy (Cline) Maynard of Pigeon Creek, and Lana "Sam" (Cline) Chapman of Baisden; one brother, Freddie J. Cline of Hanover; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, on Friday, July 13, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will he held at 1:00 pm on July 14, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Butch White officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden. Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Joe Trent, Ethan Browning, Keith Yates, BoBo Ferrell, Ronald Ellis, Donny Cyrus, Michael Cline and Johnson Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gary May, Gregory Taylor and Fred Dean.

Lee Lester, Jr., 60, of Baisden, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 9, 2007, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.
Born, July 3, 1947, at Baisden, he was the son of the late Lee and Pearl (Murphy) Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elma Lester and Thelma Cline and 3 brothers, Parker, Elner, and Eckle Lester.
Lee was a retired coal miner and a member of The Light House Church at Baisden.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lee are his loving wife of 15 years, Mable (Collins) Lester, one sister, Alma (Thomas Ray) Trent, and one brother, Dexter (Christine) Lester.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, and The Light House Church at Baisden, on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm each evening. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, 1:00 pm, at The Light House Church at Baisden, with the Rev. Winfred Bradford, Rev. Lowell Smith and the Rev. Jonathan Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in the Lester cemetery, Baisden, WV.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Angeline Morgan, 75, of Ned's Branch section of Gilbert, departed this life on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at her residence.
Born April 2, 1932, at Simon, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin & Emmaline (Harper) Huff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Alex Ted (A.R.) Morgan; one daughter, Patricia Toler; six brothers: McKinley, Gede, Ford, Henry, Ernest & Orville "Buck" Huff and one infant brother and one infant sister. Mrs. Morgan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed her family and friends, and was of the Holiness Faith.
Survivors include three sons, Judge Morgan of North Springs, Earnest "Ray" (Angie) Morgan and Jeff (Katrina) Morgan all of Ned's Branch; four daughters, Sandra (Bill) Simon of Charleston, Kay (Lloyd) Cline of Simon, Tamra (Joey) Holzapfel of North Springs, and Brenda (Mark) Stanley of Wharncliffe; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Friends may call at the Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church at Sprattsville on Sunday, July 8th and Monday, July 9, 2007 from 6 to 11 pm each evening.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at the Sprattsville Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Stanley and the Rev. Matthew Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at the Huff Family cemetery at Neds Branch section of Gilbert.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Virgil Larry Hatfield, 56, of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, departed this life on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Born March 8, 1951, at Browning Fork, he was the beloved son of the late Jesse and Mary (Hatfield) Hatfield.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa (Hatfield) Hatfield, his beloved son, Virgil Hatfield, Jr., four brothers and four sisters.
Virgil was a disabled rock driller and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his companion of eleven years, Donna Mounts; a special person he called his daughter, Rachel Mounts; 3 brothers, Arnold (Betty) Hatfield, Arvil (Rita) Hatfield, and Layton (Crystal) Hatfield; 3 sisters, Juanita (Rush) Carter, Izetta (Douglas) Collins, and Immogene (Roby) Hatfield, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer, Hampden, on Friday, July 6, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Jonas Trent officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter cemetery, Browning Fork.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Brookie (Hatfield) Cline, 92, of Coal Mountain, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Brookie loved to sew and make quilts. Born March 16, 1915, at Coal Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Rinne (Toler) Hatfield . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Virgil Cline, eight brothers: Troy, Virgil, Frank, Lonnie, Elmer, Lessie, Alvin and Luther Hatfield, and two sisters: Goldie and Cora Hatfield. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Brookie are her four sisters: Georgie Hatfield and Arlene Wallace, both of Coal Mountain, Virginia (Mervin) Fraley of Morehead KY, and Zettie Brown of Cyclone.
Friends may call at the Missionary Baptist Church, Coal Mountain, on Friday, July 6, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at 1:00 pm at the Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield cemetery at Coal Mountain. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers

Lafe B. Stanley, 69, of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Monday, July 2, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV. Born, August 29, 1937, at Wharncliffe, he was the son of the late William J. Stanley and the late Zona (Patrick) Stanley Collins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Uva Voncille Glenn and Violet Gay Taylor, and one brother, Delmer Stanley. Lafe was a Veteran of the US Air Force, a retired coal miner and of the Protestant Faith. Survivors include his wife, Edith "Joe" Stanley of Wharncliffe, his children: Samantha (Billy) Kleinfelder of Florida, Lottie D. (Keith) Scarberry of Gilbert, Brian L. (Melissa) Stanley of Wharncliffe, Lafe B. (Angel) Stanley Jr. of Williamson, Melissa (Leon) Lester of Baisden, Teresa Manuel of Columbus, Ohio, David Yankovich of Wharncliffe, and Darrell Stumbo, Jr of Columbus, Ohio. Additional survivors include: 2 brothers, Everett (Idel) Stanley of Wharncliffe and Pat Stanley of Elk Creek; his sister, Nina Dotson of Columbus, Ohio, 20 Grand Children, 2 Great Grand Children, a host of family and friends, and one special friend, Myrtle Faye Tramel. Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm, with a service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 6, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew Stanley and Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial will follow in the Beach Fork cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV. Active pallbearers will be: Robert Summers, Rainnie Davis, Danny May, Lonnie Patrick, Herbie Wolford, and J R Cline. Delbert E. Simpson, 46, of Justice, departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Born, February 15, 1961, at Welch, he was the beloved son of Charles and Shirley Simpson of Justice.
Survivors include his parents, two sisters, Leslie Ann (Jesse) Hatfield and Sharon Simpson, his brother, Charles E. (Demetra) Simpson, Jr., his nieces and nephews, Rachel (Michael) Galyean, Rustan Christian, Savannah Simpson, Jessica (Andy) Hatfield, Denver (Crystal) Simpson, his two great nieces, Victoria Galyean and Kimberly Toler Simpson, his great nephew, Westan Christian, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, with the Rev. Jess Cline and Rev. Randall Staton officiating. Burial followed at Justice Memorial Gardens, Justice, WV. Pallbearers were: John Harding, Donnie Woodson, Leonard Simpson, Jr., Jackie McBrayer, Andy Hatfield, Denver Simpson, Sammy Cox, Michael Galyean and Rustan Christian. Amos Lewis Belcher, 64, of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston. Born, June 28, 1943, at Gilbert, he was the son of the late Wayne and Mona (Hatfield) Belcher. Amos was a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Amos are his four sisters, Marie (Billy) Lester and Ellen Blankenship of Browning Fork, Alice Hatfield of Coal Mountain, and Florence Allie Belcher of Gilbert; his two brothers, Verlin (Glenda) Belcher and Herman (Diane) Belcher of Browning Fork, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Friends called at the Browning Fork House of Faith, Browning Fork section of Gilbert, on Saturday, June 30, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at the Browning Fork House of Faith with the Rev. Diamond Cater and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Carter cemetery at the Browning Fork section of Gilbert. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Jo Mae Blankenship, 81, of Mallory, departed this life on Monday, June 25, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.
Born, May 30, 1926, at Baileysville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Goldie (Toler) Harding.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Geizel 'GG' (Blankenship) Banks, and six brothers: Jake, Leslie, Troy, Ray, Bob, and Howard Harding.
Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was of the Church of God faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jo are her loving husband of 51 years, L C Blankenship; her four sons: Glenis (Soyla) Blankenship of Houston, TX, L C Blankenship (Gaye) of Kentucky, Donnie Blankenship of Clarksville, TN, and Gary (Robin) Blankenship of Greenvalley; her daughter, Jo Ann Morgan of Greenvalley; her daughter-in-law, Tina Blankenship; her grandchildren: Rebecca, Crystal, Karen, Chad & Kim, Nikki & Mike, Avery, Joshua & Megan, Bryson, Ryan, Little Gary, and Donnie Jr.; her great grandchildren: Braydon Fowler, Alex & Savannah Hatfield, Derrick, Teara, Richard, Kevin, Nikki, and Ronnie; three sisters-in-law: Geneva, Joyce, and Evelyn; and special friends: Belinda Lawrence, Rose Gibson, and Randi Fowler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Mount Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis cemetery at Justice, WV.
