Shelah Earl Lester, Jr., 65, of Verner, beloved husband, father, and papaw, is now present with the Lord. His spirit left his earthly body on June 25, 2007, at his home in Verner, surrounded by his family. Born, June 12, 1947, at Emmett, WV, he was the eldest son of the late, Shelah and Vernice (Cline) Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: one niece, Aimee Bryant; Brother-in-law, Tommy Paynter; and best friend, James "Jim" Lester. Earl was an avid Bible scholar who truly loved the Lord. He was a member, Deacon and teacher at the Verner Community Church. His favorite scripture was 1 Peter 2:24. He was a 1959, graduate of Gilbert High School, a proud US Army Veteran, a former Scout Master of Troop 423 of Verner, and past secretary of the Gilbert Full Gospel Association. Those left to cherish and love the memory of Earl, are his loving wife, Nellie (Baisden) Lester of Verner, his daughter, Carolyn "Pring" (Orville) Gibson of Verner; two honorary daughters: Kathy Baisden (Kenneth) Williams of Man, and Tara Monroe (Steve) Krumm of Montana; Grandson, Jordan Earl Gibson of Verner; two honorary grandsons: Kenny (Katrina) Williams of Charleston, and Kris John Williams of Man; his sister, Joan (Vaughn) Queen of Justice; his three brothers: Thomas (Donna) Lester of Verner, Curtis (Flo) Lester of Gilbert, and Miles Duane (Carolyn) Lester of North Carolina; his Baisden girls: Patricia Baisden, Shirley (Larry) Barrett, and Dolly (Vic) Ellis all of Virginia, Debbie (Fred) Thompson of Neibert, Sherry (Tony) Bryant of St. Albans, Letha (Tommy) Paynter of Oceana, and Kathy (Kenny) Williams of Man. Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Robinett and Rev. Walter Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning/Dye cemetery at Verner, WV. Active Pallbearers are: Kevin and Jason Thompson, Thomas and Timothy Paynter, Duane Lester, Wesley Queen, Verlin Harper, and Jim McNeely. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Melissa D. Lester (niece and favorite Doctor), Dr. Kelli J. Dumm (Family Doctor), RN--Nancy Bryant, Barbie Johnson Lester, Sam Walker, Fern Ruiz, Bob Griffith, Randy Dye, Todd Dye, Gary Cline, and Phillip Robinson.

Kathleen "Kat" (Beanblossom) Perry, 81, of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Carolyn's Care Center at Verner. Born, March 5, 1926, at Mallory, she was the daughter of the late William F. "Bill" Beanblossom and the late Polly (Miller) Beanblossom Newman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Troy Edward Perry and her two brothers: William Beanblossom, Jr., and Robert Beanblossom. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was of the Baptist faith. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Kathleen are her two sons: Jimmy Dale (Lois) Perry of Dallas, Texas and William E. "Eddie" Perry of Gilbert, her granddaughter, Octavia (Chris) Chapline of Gainesville, Florida; and a host of family and friends. Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert, WV, on Sunday, June 24, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 25, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arville Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Godby Heights, Peck Mill. Active Pallbearers are: Jason Keyser, Travis Love, Donny Boren, Ricky Hatfield, Randy Livingood and Tom White. Honorary Pallbearers are James H. "Buck" Harless and Amos Hatfield.

Donald Kennedy, 44, of Hanover, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 20, 2007, at his residence.
Born, February 6, 1963, at Welch, he was the son of the late Buster and Shelby (Suttles) Kennedy.
Donald attended several churches and had been a Christian throughout his entire life.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Donald are his brother and sisters: Donna Newsome of Ikes Fork; Richard (Melissa) Kennedy of Gilbert; Mary Rhodes of Trenton, NC; Scotty (Janet) Kennedy of Onieda, TN; Bradley (Pamela) Kennedy of Hanover; Dani (James) Baker of Simon; Michael (Vickie) Sammons of Hampden; and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Newsome of Oceana.
Friends called at the Old Pathway Church at Johnny Cake, WV, on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm at the Old Pathway Church with the Rev. James Cline, Rev. Kent Browning and the Rev. Barry Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the Kennedy cemetery at Long Branch, Simon, WV.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Danny Ross Cline, 58 years old, of Maxwelton, WV, formerly of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12 2007, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Greenbrier, WV. Born September 19, 1948, at Gilbert, he was the son of Marie (Holbrook) Cline and the late Bert Mason Cline. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Cline. Danny was a 1967 graduate of Gilbert High School, a Veteran of the US Army, a disabled coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and of the Protestant Faith. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Danny are his mother, Marie Cline, of Gilbert; his daughter, Lena (Barry) Shandor of Nitro; two granddaughters: Kierra and Michaela; his sister, Barbara (David) Ward of Gilbert; his two brothers: Terry (Judy) Cline of Lancaster, Ohio, and Doyle (Pinky) Cline of Varney; his nephew; his four nieces; and a host of family and friends. Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Thursday, June 21, 2007, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 22, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Log cemetery at Baisden, WV. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Mounts Funeral Home, Inc., of Gilbert is in charge of the arrangements.

Lana Kay Mitchell, 36, of Logan, departed this life on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at her residence. Born, April 19, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Linda (Blankenship) Kazee McCoy of Madison and the late, Earl Kazee.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, John Mitchell of Ohio, two sons: Hunter and Camron Paul Mitchell and one daughter, Savanna Mitchell, all of Ohio; and one brother, Earl Kazee, Jr., of Garfield Heights, Ohio.
As requested the body was cremated.

Ann Lee (Noe) Ellis, 63, of Pecks Mill, WV, departed this life on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born, February 19, 1944, at Mallory, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William and Martery (Whitaker) Noe.
Anna was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and a retired factory worker, having worked for T. I. Industries.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Ralph Mitchell; 2 brothers: Hurston and Franklin Noe; Mothers-in-law: Lula Mitchell and Brook Ellis; and 2 sisters-in-law: Irene and Shirley Noe.
Survivors include her husband, James O. Ellis of Pecks Mill; 2 daughters: Debra (Casper) Andrews of San Diego, California, and Kimberly (Thomas) Risko of Pecks Mill; 2 step-daughters: Cherie (Tim) Beheler of Gilbert and Belinda Blankenship of Virginia.
Additional survivors include: 2 sisters: Pauline (Tennis) Hatfield of Gilbert, and Carol (Don) Roberts of Santa Clara, Utah; 2 brothers: Charles and Harold Noe of Gilbert; and a very special friend, Toby.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Lester and Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial followed in the Hollywood cemetery, Gilbert. Pallbearers were: Tim Beheler, Tim Beheler, Jr., Casey Beheler, Billy (BJ) Beheler, Gary Hatfield and R. L. Cash.

Eddie Gene Cantrell 69 of Christian, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 31, 2008, from his residence.
He was born on May 7, 1939 at Lackey KY, he was the son of the late Rufus Edgar and Geneva Gaye (Leedy) Cantrell.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by : one son, David Linton Cantrell; one daughter, Donna Jean Cantrell; one brother, Ronyall Cantrell; and one sister, Taleda Cantrell.
Eddie was a disabled state road employee. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio, collecting CB radios and working on old cars. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Eddie are: his loving wife of 51 years, Dora Jane (Nelson) Cantrell of Christian; his four sons: Billy (Gondy) Cantrell of Christian, Dennis (Jessica) Cantrell of Bruno, Phillip (Sherry) Cantrell of Springlake NC, and Michael (Crystal) Cantrell of Hurricane; his four daughters: Terri (Ronald) Lambert of Christian, Paula (Norman) Harvey of Kistler, Jean Ann (Jackie) Evans of Earling, and Pamela (Bobby) Holland of Beaumont TX; his 20 grandchildren; his 13 great grandchildren; his sister, Nyokia Sue Sparkman of Pippa Passes KY; his brother, Terry Don Cantrell of Lumberton NC; and his step-sister, Tina Faye Broyles of Bluefield. Eddie will be sadly missed by a host of family and friends who knew and loved him.
Friends called at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno, on Wednesday, June 4th after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 5th at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. David Campbell and the Rev. Harrison Williamson officiating. Burial followed in the Christian Community cemetery at Christian. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Edward C. Ferrell 85 of Gilbert, departed this life on Friday, May 30, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on September 25, 1922 at Gilbert to the late Edward Lee and Sadie (Trent) Ferrell.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Thelma Ferrell; his son, Dennis E. Ferrell; his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Brooke Ferrell; his maternal grandparents, Ballard and Laura Trent; his aunt, Laura Grose; and one cousin, Walter 'Wimpie' Grose.
Edward was the owner and operator of Ed's Place in Gilbert for 55 1/2 years. He enjoyed being in the store everyday, spending time with his wife and son, who he was very proud of, and fishing. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Edward are: his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Jesse Albright (who were his caregivers); his cousins: Hubert (Clearisa) Trent, Earl (Doris) Trent, Harry (Ilene) Trent, Guy Lee (Delores) Trent, Mary (Chilton) Hatfield, Kenton Price, and Clifton Price; and a host of family and friends. Edward will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 2nd, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Endicott and the Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Hollywood cemetery at Gilbert. Pallbearers were: Vincent Clay, Randy Livingood, Mike Fox, Keevin Walls, and Joey Walls. Honorary pallbearers were: Eugene Hurley, James 'Buck' Harless, Guy Trent, Jr., and the late Edward Clay.

Patty Sue Gravley 36 of Verner departed this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Akron General Medical Center, Akron OH, following a long illness.
She was born on November 23, 1971 at Man, WV to the late Franklin Eugene and Corrine (Hatfield) Gravley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Gravley.
Patty was a homemaker and attended the Old Pathway Church.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Patty are: her daughter, Kayla Sue Baisden of Verner; her sister, Donna Gravley; her six brothers: Darnell (Marsha), Joe (Candice), Star, James, and Ronald Gravley all of Verner, Richard (Angie) Gravley of Huff Creek; five nephews; three nieces; nine great nephews; and one great niece; eight very special friends: Shranda Carter, Hope Walker, Mica Walker, Connie Hatfield, Julie Copley, Mona Lester, Renay Grimmett. and Gladys Ellis; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Verner Community Church at Verner on Tuesday, June 3rd after 6:00 pm.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 4th at the Verner Community Church with the Rev. James Cline, Rev. Marshall Martin and Sister Renay Grimmett officiating. Burial followed in the Dye cemetery at Verner.
Pallbearers were: Jesse Gravley, Christopher Gravley, Jake Chapman, Leonard Pack, Gary Miller, Jon Jon Gravley, Larry Brown, and Chris Lester. Honorary pallbearers were: Darnell, Richard, Joe, Star, James, and Ronald Gravley.

Vernie Maud Browning Mitchell, 91 years young, of Gilbert went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 25, 2008, from Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV.
Born at Emmett WV on March 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George Floyd and Lucinda Safronie (Belcher) Browning.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Connie Mitchell; her eight sisters: Hettie Browning, Zettie Browning, Esre Browning, Mamie Fortner, Mona Walls, Eddie Hollingshed, Icy Pearl Blevins, and Cordie Lee Walls; her four brothers: Frank, Theodore, Willie and Homer Browning; her great grandchild, Shawn David Mitchell; and her son-in-law, Douglas Stevens.
Vernie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and member of the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Vernie are: her five daughters: Patricia (James) Bartram of Gilbert, Phyllis (Johnny) Davis of Justice, Sheila (Jim) Curtis of Chaparral NM, Peggy Stevens of Chesapeake VA, and Reba (Aven) Morgan of Nitro; her three sons: Morris (Flo) Mitchell of Gilbert, Ward (Rita) Mitchell of Wharncliffe, and Danny (Rita) Mitchell of Gilbert; her brother, Don Browning of Ikes Fork; her twenty grandchildren; her twenty-four great grand children; her five great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, May 29th from 5:30 to 9 pm.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 30th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Mitchell, Rev. Lanny Mitchell, and the Rev. Clifford Rawls officiating.
Burial followed in the Hollywood cemetery at Gilbert. Pallbearers were grandsons: Lanny, Jarrod, Jason, and David Mitchell, Paul Bartram, and Mike Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were: Vance and Greg Curtis, and Bradley Morgan.
