Corrine Davis, 76, of Coal Mountain, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 19, 2008.
Born on August 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Bertha (Wallace) Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene 'Jeep' Davis; a grandson, Kevin Davis; and her sister, Belva (Kennedy) Stokes.
Corrine left such a sweet legacy, evidenced by the closeness of her family. She was a retired store clerk and a born again Christian.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Corrine are: her five children: Jeanie (Mike) Rhodes of Brenton, Peggy Davis of Northport AL, Butch (Rita) Davis, Donna (Butch) Puett, and Anita (Gene) Mullins, all of Coal Mountain; her 10 grandchildren; her 15 great grandchildren; her three brothers: French L. (Joyce) Kennedy of Raleigh NC, Virgil Kennedy of Coal Mountain, and Berthel Kennedy of Hanover; and a host of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, April 22nd from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Harless and Pastor Patty Morgan officiating. Burial followed in the Coal Mountain Community cemetery at Coal Mountain. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Eddeth Lynn Keene, 44, of Bull Creek, departed this life on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Gilbert.
Born on January 9, 1964 at Iaeger, she was the daughter of Frank Delano Kennedy and Eunice Nadine Henderson.
Eddeth was preceded in death by her husband, William Keene; one son, Charles Dewayne Cline; and her step-father, Clifford Wayne Henderson.
Eddeth was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Eddeth are: her two daughters: Stephanie Marie Cline of Isaban and Jamie Marie Cline of Lewisburg; her two grandchildren: Jordan Chase and Caden Trey Porter both of Isaban; her father, Frank Delano Kennedy of Berwind; her mother, Eunice Nadine Henderson of Bull Creek; her two brothers: Charles and Keith Kennedy of Bull Creek; her four sisters: Tina Davis of Gilbert, Karen Click of Attwell, Terry Newcomb of Iaeger, and Sharon Hunt of Falls Mills VA; her three Nieces; her five Nephews; and other loved ones and cherished friends.
Friends called at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church at Greenbrier on Wednesday, April 9th after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 10th at the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church with the Rev. John R. Justus, Rev. Dave Gibson, Rev Arthur Short, and the Rev. Kermit Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Kennedy cemetery at Bull Creek Mountain, Panther, WV. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Retha Cline Blankenship, 82, of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 7, 2008, at Logan Center/Genesis, Logan, WV.
Born on June 20, 1925 at Baisden, she was the daughter of the late Nat and Vonnie (Carter) Cline.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Blankenship; two brothers: Flemming and Sonny Cline; a grandson, Brian Blankenship; and a son-in-law, Robert Christian.
Retha was a homemaker and a member of the Freedom Full Gospel Church of God and the Browning Fork House of Faith at Browning Fork.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Retha are: her five sons: Homer (Evelyn) Blankenship of Browning Fork, Billy (Karen) Blankenship of Justice, Enos (Evelyn) Blankenship of Riverview, Tony (Wilma) Blankenship of Baisden, and Glennis Blankenship of Baisden; her two daughters: Catherine (Bob) Christian, and Addie (Harold) May both of Browning Fork; her 14 grandchildren; her 22 great grandchildren; her five brothers: Jay (MaryAnn) Cline of South Carolina, Judd (Desi), Rex (Betty), and Denzil (Tina) Cline, all of Baisden, and Tex (Iris) Cline of North Carolina; her four sisters: Zell Lockhart, Mila (Joe) Lester, Vimma Blankenship, all of Baisden, and Evelyn Hatfield of Beckley; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, April 8th from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter and the Rev. Bill Cresong officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden, WV.
Pallbearers were: Audie, Homer Jr., and Chad Blankenship, Robbie and Bobby Christian, and Glenn Rasnick. Honorary pallbearers were: Rodney and Carlos Christian, Harold and Chris May, Billy Ray, Keith, Tony Jr., and Rocky Blankenship.

Jamie Lee Cline, 31, of Coal Mountain, departed this life on Friday, April 4, 2008, at his residence.
Born August 24, 1976 at Man, he was the son of Velma (Toler) Cline and the late Olen Cline.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by: his grandparents: Patrick and Anthymae Cline, and Buddy Toler; and one brother-in-law, Danny Kennedy.
Jamie was a logger and of the Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jamie are: his mother, Velma Cline; his son, Hunter Cline; his daughter, Mackenzie Cline; his brother, Ronald (Katrina) Cline; all of Coal Mountain; his three sisters: Sherry Kennedy and Diana (Mark) Hatfield, both of Coal Mountain, and Amanda (Chester) Bartley of Pikeville KY; his grandmother, Marie Toler of Rockhouse; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends; and special friends who will also serve as pallbearers: Brian Hatfield, Michael 'Skillet' Morgan, B.J. Kennedy, and Michael 'Pebo' Browning.
Friends called at the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, April 7th after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8th at the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ellis officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Coal Mountain.

Lundy Woosley, 84, of Spencer, departed this life on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center in Pomeroy, OH.
Born October 12, 1923 at Slate Creek, Grundy VA, he was the son of the late Will Woosley and Rosa (Lester) Rife.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: two brothers: Troy and Gus Woosley; four sisters: Delphia Groves, Dorothy Harmond, Viola Woosley, and Lucy Viars; and two grandsons: Christopher Knapp and Jason Mills.
Lundy was a member of the UMWA. He retired from Top Job Mining. He loved to fish, hunt, ramping in the spring, and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lundy are: his loving wife of 45 years, Mary (Blackburn) Woosley of Spencer; his seven daughters: Rosemary (Harry) Knapp of St. Cloud FL, Shirley (Donald) Mills of Carroll OH, Geraldine Thompson of Patasklal OH, Betty (Jim) Wishon of Carroll OH, Dorothy (Darrell) Wilson of Orient OH, Sharon Green of Columbus OH, and Martha Adkins of Lorado WV; his five sons: Billy (Debbie) Woosley of Columbus OH, Rondall Woosley of Zanesville OH, Lundy (Marcia) Woosley, Jr., of Rushville OH, James (Teresa) Canterbury of Morganton NC, and Daniel (Lois) Canterbury of Irwin PA; his three brothers: Hassel Woosley of Richmond VA, Oliver Lester of Fort Payne AL, and Dewey Woosley of New Jersey; his 33 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, April 6th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were conducted at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Danny Mitchell officiating.
Grave side services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 7th at the Lester Family cemetery at Grundy VA.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

June (Gibson) May, 80, of Milton, formerly of Gilbert, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.
Born on October 25, 1927 in Mingo County WV, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lethia (Stanley) Gibson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Greeley May, Jr.; a sister, Thelma Gooch; and four brothers: Bernie, Mack, Albert and Earl Gibson.
June attended the Milton Apostolic Church and was a devout Christian.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of June are: her three sons: Jim (Linda) May of Milton, Bill (Bernice) May of Wasilla AK, and Danny May of Columbus OH; her three brothers: Clarence Jr. Gibson of Gilbert, Neal (Loretta) Gibson of Ballard, and Jack (Lydia) Gibson of Columbus OH; her sister, Sally Smethers of Sunbury OH; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, April 4th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 5th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Norman Stickler and Rev. W. Sizemore officiating. Burial followed in the Beech Fork cemetery at Wharncliffe.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Denver Stacy, Sr., of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV.
Born August 24, 1936, at Panther, WV, he was the son of the late Andy and Bertha (Harless) Stacy.
He was a charter member of the Isaban Baptist Church at Isaban, WV. He accepted the Lord in November of 1949. He remained a pillar of the church throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy & Bertha Stacy; his sisters: Ruby (Oscar) Roberts and Clara Jean (Raymond) Birchfield; and his brother Clyde (LeeEtta) Stacy.
Survivors include his bride of 52 years, Phyllis (Lester) Stacy; his son Denver Dale Stacy II, his pride and joy; his daughter-in-love Lori Stacy, all of Gilbert; and his loving granddaughter Jenna Lynne, his little squirrel of Morgantown; one brother, Quincy (Fannie) Roberts; one sister, Gladys (Theodore) Blankenship; and a host of family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Denver was an encourager to young people and instilled to all of us to have a positive attitude. He attended Iaeger High School and McDowell County Vocational School where he excelled in Engineering. He was in the coal mining business with his life-long friend, the late Charles Icenhour, with I & S Coal Company; Spring Branch Coal Company, and South Fork Resources. He was involved in mining operations in West Virginia, Virginia, and Kentucky. He also worked at River Ridge Coal Company and later retired from Pittston Coal Company. He was also a great asset to his son's many businesses. He was an auxiliary member of the Gilbert Volunteer Fire Department and past member of the Gilbert Kiwanis Club.
A Celebration of Life was conducted at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Jackie Lester and Mason Perry officiating. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens, Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers were: Robert Trent, Joe Birchfield, Zimri Stokley, Steve Roberts, Brian Roberts, Jody Shannon, Donnie Ray Stacy, Carl Waugh, and Charles Lee Icenhour.
Honorary pallbearers included: Raymond Cline, Winston Cline, Larry Icenhour, Amos Hatfield, James H. Harless, James E. Hatfield, Virgil Hatfield, Terry Sammons, Paul Pinson, Forney Shrewsbury, Timer May, Roger Damron, Ralph Trent, Charles (Spade) Sparks, Donald R. Hatfield, Tommy Lester, Lewis (Fred) Cook, Don Arnold, Eddie Chapman, Carlo Gentiletti, and Benny Lester.

Mable Juanita (Toler) Sowards, 65, of Simon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 28, 2008 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 28, 1942 at Neds Branch section of Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late Morris H. and Ocie (Mills) Toler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Venus Sowards, one brother, Garland Toler, and one sister, Correna Perdue.
Mable was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Mable are: her three brothers: Raymond 'Pete' Toler, Randall Toler both of Justice, and Donald Toler of Middleville, Michigan; her three sisters: Oma Vance of Pembroke VA, Emma Jean Walker of Gilbert, and Millie Perry of Justice; her two step-children: Peggy (Posey) Morgan and Patty (John) Quisenberry; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, March 30th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 31st at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter and the Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Davis cemetery at Justice. Pallbearers were: Ron Gupton, Kevin Dunbar, and additional family members and friends. Honorary pallbearers were: Clayton Meade, Leonard Cresong, Joe Morgan, and Seth Kennedy.
