Jackie Lee Gibson, 69, of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Monday, July 7, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on May 24, 1939 at Logan to the late Dewey and Leslie (Vanover) Gibson.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jackie are: his two sisters: Judy Casto of Columbus OH and Geraldine (Michael) Korim of Cleveland OH; his six brothers: Burgess, William, Troy, Frank, and Dewey Gibson Jr., of Columbus OH and Donald (Patty) Gibson of Galloway OH; his two nephews: Bobby Casto and Richard Gibson both of Columbus OH; his niece, Carmella Brock of Columbus OH; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Church at Wharncliffe on Thursday, July 10th from 11 am to 1 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial followed in the Gibson cemetery at Wharncliffe.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Marvin Alfred 'Marty' Hatfield, 52, of Gilbert, departed this life on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on July 27, 1955 at Welch and was the son of Edna Jo (Blankenship) Hatfield and the late Marvin Hatfield.
Marty was a graduate of Gilbert High School and a stone mason.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Marty are: his two sons: Marty Ray (Lara) Hatfield of Chapmanville and Adam Alex Hatfield of Gilbert; his mother, Edna Jo Hatfield of Gilbert; his two brothers: Gary Glen (Cindy) Hatfield of Man and Billy Joe Hatfield of Gilbert; his nephew, Gary Hatfield, Jr., of Man; and his niece, Shanna Hatfield of Man; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, July 8th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Rawls, Rev. Diamond Carter, and the Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield Family cemetery at Gilbert Terrace, Hampden. Pallbearers were: Keith Blair, Ricky Toler, Norwood Harrison, Jr., Terry Joe Harrison, Greg Gravely, and Josh Duty.

Randy Matney, 52, of Panther went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 30, 2008, from his residence.
Born on December 3, 1955 at Trace Fork of Panther, he was the son of Harless and Freda (Justice) Matney.
Randy was a disabled coal miner who liked to hunt and loved his horses. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Randy are: his parents, Harless and Freda Matney of Trace Fork; his loving wife, Phyllis Ann Matney of Trace Fork; his six children: Randall Lynn, Marty Leon, Janet Marie, and Bobbie Joe Matney all of Trace Fork, Julie Ann (Henry) Dawson of Raysal, and Tabitha (Danny) Lester of Bradshaw; his four brothers: Norman (Wilma) Justice and Steven Lee (Sheila) Matney both of Trace Fork, Bernard Ray (Beverly) Matney of Cub Creek, and Ricky Dale Matney; his sister, Joyce (Mike) Roberts of Pineville; his 33 nieces and nephews; a very special great nephew, Eric Taylor Lester; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Harless and Freda Matney residence on Trace Fork of Panther on Tuesday, July 1st and Wednesday, July 2nd after 6:00 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm at the Harless and Freda Matney residence with the Rev. Jack Cook, Rev. Raymond J. Shrader, Rev. Eddie Cline, and the Rev. Roger Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Justice Family cemetery on Trace Fork of Panther. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Janice Marie (Glandon) Ellis, 76, of Bruno, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 29, 2008, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan WV.
Born on September 15, 1931 at Bruno, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Maude (Carter) Glandon.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Ellis; three brothers: Dale, Earl, and Audrey Glandon; two sisters: Golda Goodman and Odessa Johnson; eight sons: Kager, Charles, Darrell, Zenneth, Ronald, Donzel, Levon, and John Boy Ellis; one daughter, Shirley; and four grandchildren: Angela Kay, Michael, Vada Ann, and Charles Jr.
Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who enjoyed cooking, going to church, and being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Bruno Church of God.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Janice are: her six daughters: Opal Blankenship of Bruno, Barbara (Fred) Newman of Hurricane, Wanda (Larry) Sites of Petersburg, Kaye (Michael) Roberts of Chapmanville, Sandra (Michael 'Cud') Bailey of Accoville, and Sharon (Wade) Hatfield of Virginia; her eight sons: Buddy (Shelby) Ellis, Michael Ellis, and Ricky Ellis, all of Bruno, Danny Ellis, Harold (Lynn) Ellis, both of Accoville, Larry (Martha) Ellis of Largo FL, Jackie (Sue) Ellis of Newark OH, and Harmon Ellis Jr., of Niebert; her son-in-law, Jim Gill; her daughter-in-law, Edna Mae; her brother, Johnie Glandon; her two sisters: Samantha Trent of Man and Josie Estep of Chicago IL; her 44 grandchildren; her 50 great grandchildren; a special friend, Diana Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Friends called at the Bruno Church of God on Tuesday, July 1st after 6:00 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2nd at the Bruno Church of God with the Rev. Bill Cantrell and the Rev. Roger Frye officiating. Burial followed in the Browning and Grimmett cemetery at Bruno. Grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Tiara Jade Stacy, one of Gods sweet little angels, 1 year old of Gilbert, departed this life on June 26, 2008 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 1, 2007 at Charleston, she was the daughter of Ashley Dotson and Ronald Stacy Jr.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfathers: Mack Stacy and Johnny Cline; and her maternal great grandfather, Gordon Grimmett.
In addition to her parents those left to love and cherish the memory of Tiara are her maternal grandparents: Teresa (Larry) Caudill of Gilbert, paternal grand-parents: Ronald (Sandy) Stacy Sr. of Gilbert, and Sherry (Rex) Grubb of Baisden, . Her six aunts:, Rhonda (Scottie) Mullins of Chapmanville, Jessica (Jody) Thomas of Beckley, Tiffany Vinson of Pineville, Keisha Leighann Vinson of Alabama, Lana Bridget Vinson of Delbarton, and Jamie Michelle Davis of Dingess, her three uncles: Ricky Vinson of Delbarton, Corey Patrick of Gilbert and Brandon Patrick of Huntington, Tiara also had a host of family and friends who loved her, and enjoyed the time they had with her.
Friends called at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer on Sunday, June 29th after 6 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Carl Wolford officiating. Burial followed in the Carter cemetery at Browning Fork. Family and Friends served as pallbearers.

Roy E. Perry, 83, of Gilbert, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 26, 2008, from his residence.
Born on August 24, 1924 at Gilbert, he was the son of the late Bruce B. and Lona (Workman) Perry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Ray, Troy, Hubert, and Junior Perry; two sisters: Marie (Perry) Wilson and Claudia (Perry) Elkins; and man's best friends - Rex and Benji Perry.
Roy was a Corporal in the US Army, serving from 1943 to 1945. He received the following decorations and citations: Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, Service Medal, and the Phillpinex Liberation. Military grave site services will be performed by the Disable American Veterans Chapter #141 Belfrey Kentucky. Roy grew up and spent most of his life at Horsepen. He was very patriotic, an avid fan of WVU Sports, and he loved his animals, he would feed whatever creature would come on his property. He was a retired custodian for the Mingo County Board of Education and was a born again Christian.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Roy are: his sister, Eurydice (Jack) Ferrell of Hampden; his daughter, Diana (Michael) Francis of Hampden; his two sons: Terry (Allison) Perry of Justice and Neil (Lesley) Perry of Hampden; his two granddaughters: Sabrina (Billy) Manuel of Hurricane and Brandy Perry of Bluewell; his grandson, Anthony Perry of Justice; his two step grandchildren: Chasity Morgan and Keisha Carter; his special friends: Janice Gibson and Dewayne and Melissa (Chapman) Cline; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved greatly. He also left behind a host of squirrels, fish, ducks, birds, and a cat who he loved so much.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, June 27th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 28th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Evangelist Billy Manuel officiating. Burial followed in the Hollywood cemetery at Gilbert.
Pallbearers were: Bruce and Jeff Ferrell, Dewayne Cline, Johnny Blankenship, Keith and Jeremy Perry, and Andreau Chapman.
Honorary pallbearers were: Jack Ferrell, Billy Ray Blankenship, Michael Francis, and Larry Watson.

Betty Lucille Scarberry, 63, of Gilbert departed this life on Monday, June 23, 2008, at Logan Regional Hospital at Logan.
Born on August 25, 1944, at Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late James and Elva (Ferguson) Harrison.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Howard Scarberry; and her sister, Trilba Perry.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Betty are: her two sons: James Scarberry (Donna Lilly) of Gilbert and Brian (Lottie) Scarberry of Newark OH; her daughter, Sherri (Freddie) Blankenship of Gilbert; her three granddaughters: Emily Blankenship of Gilbert and Ashley and Kimberly Scarberry of Panther; her two brothers: David (Charlotte) Harrison of Wharncliffe and Fred (Oma) Harrison of Brooksville FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In honoring her wishes she was cremated.

James Justice, 67, of Justice went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 22, 2008, from his residence.
Born on May 22, 1941, at Justice, he was the son of Drew Justice and the late Marie Toler Justice.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by one brother, Benny Justice, and one sister, Christine Blankenship.
James was a retired coal truck driver and a member of the Justice Tabernacle and Hanover House of Faith. His favorite things to do were attending church and spending time with his family.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of James are: his loving wife, Ernestine Justice of Justice; his three daughters: Tena Abbott of Oceana, Wanda Justice of Justice, and Jeannie (Jerry) Clay of Cyclone; his step daughter, Betty (Jamie) Cline of Justice; his two step sons: Glenn Rasnick of Browning Fork and Jerry Rasnick of Justice; his four grandchildren; his four step grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his two brothers: Kenneth (Zelda) and Freddy Justice both of Justice, his four sisters: Joyce (Barry) Browning of Wharncliffe, Sereta (Randy) Harvey of Justice, Darlene (Mike) Toler of Cleveland OH, and Karen (Michael) Hall of Justice; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Friends called at the Justice Tabernacle Church at Justice on Wednesday, June 25th after 6 pm, with church services at 7 pm. Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 26th at the Justice Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Randall Staten and the Rev. Larry Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice.
Pallbearers were: Glenn and Jerry Rasnick, Brandon and Jamie Cline, Rustin Christian, Bobby Allen, and Jerry Clay. Honorary pallbearers were: Kenneth and Freddy Justice, Darrell Stafford, and Dewayne Walls.

Thelma Smith Breeding, 'Our Beloved Granny', 82, of Wharncliffe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 22, 2008, from her residence.
Born on January 25, 1926, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Elsie (Nelson) Smith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Elbert Breeding; one granddaughter, Carmella Stanley; one grandson, Ronald Breeding, Jr.; and two sisters: Ruth Smith and Nell Murphy.
Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a retired LPN. She was a member and attended the Wharncliffe Church of God until illness prevented her from attending.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Thelma are: her four sons: Hershel (Linda) Carter of Amherstdale, Jimmy (Candy) Carter of Splendora TX, Ronald (Bonnie) and Joe Breeding both of Wharncliffe; her daughter, Sheila (Harold) Mullins of Wharncliffe; her 12 grandchildren: Lora, Hershel Jr., Gary, Jennifer, and Josh Carter, David, Andrea, Kevin and Kyle Breeding, Christie and Gavin Mounts and Larissa Wolford; her 11 great grandchildren; her four brothers: Virgil, Roscoe, Boyd, and Ivan Jr., Smith; her five sisters: Wanda, Georgia, Katrina, Dovey, and Texanna; her three special care givers: Bonnie Breeding, Pam Brown, and Cindy Mahon, who went above and beyond the description of the job; and a host of family and friends.
Friends call at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Wednesday, June 25th after 6 pm, with church services at 7 pm. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 26th at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Carl Wolford and the Rev. Randall Stacy officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Wharncliffe. Pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were: Gary Carter, James Sparks, Harold Mullins, Mike Spradlin, Russell Hatfield, and Troy Hatfield.
