Jean Madelene Cline, 53, of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Monday, October 6, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.
Born on November 24, 1954, at Welch, she was the loving daughter of the late Dave and Marybell (Ellis) Lester.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her brother, Bobby Davis; her grandson, Travis Cline; and a special friend, Linda Lester.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jean are: her husband, Rush Cline of Wharncliffe; her beloved son, Jonathan (Rita) Cline of Wharncliffe; her two loving daughters: Denise (Randall) Hatfield of Varney and Misty (Shawn) Lee of Hanover; her two grandsons: Jarrett Cline and Troy Lee; her two great grandchildren: Corey and Zachary Sammons; her brother, Roger Davis of Virginia; her two sisters: Ruby Lester of Coal Mountain and Emma Steele of Monroe County WV; her special friends: Sherry Hill, Joyce Messer, and Melba Dotson; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Wednesday, October 8th after 6 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 9th at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Danny Ward and the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial followed in the Cline cemetery at Spring Fork of Wharncliffe.
Pallbearers were: Eddie Cline, Randy Hatfield, Teddy Cline, Gregory Dotson, Carson Lester, Ferlin Christian, and Bart Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers: Jonathan Cline, Edgar Cline, Dallas Cline, and Doug Hawkins.

Helen Pauline Trent, 71, of Gilbert, departed this life on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan WV.
Born on October 4, 1937, at Phelps KY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Claude and Bertha (Maynard) Charles.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: George Jackson and Joe Pyszkowski.
Helen was a graduate of Phelps High School in 1956 and attended Pikeville Cosmetology School. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lotus Chapter # 80 Iaeger, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride, joy, and her life; they brought so much love and joy into her life and were such a blessing to her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Helen are: her loving husband of 52 years, Hassel M. Trent of Baisden; her three sons and their wives: Eddie Mack and Yvonne (VanNatter) Trent, Jeffery M. and Tinamarie (Twardy) Trent, and Brian D. and Irena Jo (Roberts) Trent, all of Gilbert; her five grandchildren: Jessica N. (Trent) and husband Robbie Ruiz of Madison, Joshua R. Trent and Kendra M. Trent both of Gilbert, and Brian Lee Austin Trent and Erica Hayley Trent both of Wharncliffe; her two great grandchildren: Alexis and Colton Ruiz of Madison; her three sisters: Monica Jackson and Claudette Pyszkowski both of Williamson, and Bonetta and her husband Tommy Ray McClanahan of Phelps KY; her three brothers and their wives : Danny and Lucille (Dotson) Charles of Rutledge TN, Sam and Arlene (Prater) Charles and Stanley and Debbie (Adkins) Charles both of Phelps KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other dear family, and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, October 15th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 16th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Nagy officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden. Grandsons, nephews, and friends of the family served as pallbearers.

Ranice Dale Cline, 55, of Justice, departed this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
Born on September 20, 1953, at Justice, he was the beloved son of the late Albert P. and Mary H. (Browning) Cline.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: four sisters: Mary Spratt, Janice Toler, Helen Cline, and Corine Cline; and three brothers: Konnie, Wonnie, and Winston Cline.
Ranice was disabled and of the Pentecostal faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Ranice are: his three brothers: Tommy (Geneva) Cline of Verner, David (Shirley) Cline of Bluefield, and Albert (Brenda) Cline, Jr., of Amherstdale; his three sisters: Josephine (Ronnie) Blankenship of High Point NC, Zelda (Kennis) Justice of Justice, and Crystal Shannon of Bluefield; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, October 16th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 17th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cresong officiating. Burial followed in the Davis cemetery at Justice. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Brenda Lee Stafford, 60, of Douglasville GA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, after fighting a 3 and a half year battle with cancer.
Born on September 22, 1948, at Matewan, she was the loving daughter of Deanie Sipple and the late Jim Sipple. Living most of her life in this area, she made many friends, who she always cherished. Brenda moved to Douglasville, Georgia, and became a member of the Powder Springs Church of God in Powder Springs, Georgia. Some of Brenda's hobbies included shopping, dinners out, getting manicures and pedicures, watching movies, spending time and attending gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and other family members. We will remember her best for sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and a smoke (as she called it) as she waited for the time to start the next load of laundry while watching Jerry Springer.
Preceding her in death was her father, Jim Sipple of Matewan, and her brother, Larry Sipple of Roanoke VA.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Brenda are: her mother, Deanie Sipple of Varney; her five brothers: Roger (Betty) Sipple of Dandridge TN, Gary Sipple, Neil (Judy) Sipple, and Blake Sipple all of Matewan, and Freddie (Lora) Sipple of Varney; and sister, Lana Duty of Minnesota; her beloved children: Denna (John) Perry of Douglasville GA, James 'JB' (Deanna) Stafford of Belo, and Wayne (Elaine) Stafford of Delbarton; and her five grandchildren: Nettie Stafford of Belo, Kayla Perry of Delbarton, Morgan Perry of Douglasville GA, Benjamin Stafford of Delbarton, and Miranda Perry of Douglasville GA; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the House of Prayer Church at Varney on Saturday, October 18th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 19th at 11:00 am at the House of Prayer Church with Pastor Sammy 'Bo' Stafford officiating. Burial followed in the Stafford cemetery at Belo.
Pallbearers were: Roger, Gary, Neil, Blake, and Freddie Sipple, and Reggie Adkins. Honorary pallbearers were: Rush and Paul Perry, Kenny Newsome, Adam Stanley, and Tyrone Wilder.

Patty Marie Warrix Cline Bishop, 81, of Ikes Fork, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, October 19, 2008, from Welch Community Hospital at Welch.
Born on February 21, 1927, at Iaeger, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alex and Margaret (Lester) Warrix.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husbands: Aldie Cline and Lacy Bishop; her children: Okie Dean, Roy Rondle, Georgia Belcher, Lacine Lester, and Alex (Pedro) Cline; her sisters: Vivian and Audrey Lester; and her brothers: Preston, John, James, Gary, and Doug Warrix.
Marie was a wonderful and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved cooking, camping, and going to church and being with her family. She was owner and operator of the Pioneer Restaurant, The Gidget, and Marie's Dinette. She will be remembered for the fine food that was served at the restaurants she owned and operated, where no one every left hungry. She was a member of the Church of Zion at Ikes Fork. She was a true warrior for the Lord and had been saved for 64 years.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Marie are: her loving children: Margaret Lester of Baisden, Judy (Bill) Hammitt of Welch, Imogene (Jason) Lester of Baisden, Kathryn (Raymond) Bowels of Williamsburg VA, Oley (Ruth) Bishop of Iaeger, Ed (Jean) Bishop of Manchester GA, Kathy (Danny) Baize of Varney, Lacy (Elaine) Bishop, Jr., of Baileysville, and Nanna (Charles) Stewart of Baileysville; her daughters-in-law: Etta Jean Bishop of Steels, Debbie Cline of Princeton, and Julie Cline of Ikes Fork; her caregiver, Retha Blankenship, her three sisters: Ethelene Roberts of Brenton, Truby Whitt of Ikes Fork, and Hulda Oyler of Ikes Fork; her three brothers: Bob Warrix of Martinsville IN, Ronnie 'Bubba' Warrix and Jerry Warrix both of Ikes Fork; her 32 grandchildren; her several great and great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Church of Zion at Ikes Fork on Wednesday, October 22nd after 6:00 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 23rd at the Church of Zion with the Rev. James Cline, Rev. Elzie Blankenship, and the Rev. Jonas Trent officiating. Burial followed in the Paris Lester cemetery at Ikes Fork. Pallbearers were: Peter and Patrick Cline, Brian, Steve, and Denny Lester, and Steven Daugherty.

James 'Jimmie' I. Elkins, 80, of Lynco, departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Bowers Hospice House at Beckley.
Born on February 16, 1928, at Gilbert, he was the beloved son of the late Johnny and Verdie (Harrison) Elkins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Betty L. (Shull) Elkins; his sister, Syvilla Elkins; and his two brothers: John Junior and Boyd Elkins.
Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was co-owner of Oceana Surplus Store at Oceana and owner/operator of Jimmy's Market at Oceana, Jesse, and Lynco. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jimmie are: his beloved son, James S. (Evealene) Elkins of Oceana; his beloved daughter, Deborah (David) Endicott of Gilbert; his two sisters: Macie Harless of Oceana and Millie (Dewey) Glover of Groveport OH; his three grandsons: David J. 'DJ' (Debbie) Endicott, James Steve (Missy) Elkins II, and Adam Ray (Juanita) Elkins; his granddaughter, Alicia Gay (Jimmy) New; his five great grandchildren: Dakota James Endicott, Brianna New, Katie, Alisha, and Andy Elkins; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, October 23rd from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 24th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating. Burial followed in the Family Memorial Gardens at Madison. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Louie Carl Dunigan, 60, of Brandywine, formerly of Upper Marlboro MD, departed this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville VA.
Born on October 28, 1947, at Iaeger, he was the beloved son of the late Riley and Pricie (Vance) Dunigan.
Louie was a 1967 graduate of Baileysville High School. He was a retired locksmith for the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and of the Baptist Faith. He loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, and the Washington Red Skins. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Louis are: his two sister: Delena Vanover of Hanover and Virginia 'Peggy' Scott of Palm Coast FL; his five brothers: Earnest Ray Dunigan of Coal City, Roy Dunigan of North Spring, Lonnie Dunigan of Millville NJ, Ronnie Dunigan of Hanover, and Clayton Dunigan of Simon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert on Saturday, October 25th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 26th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Johnson officiating. To honor his wishes he was cremated.

Loraine (Thompson) Kennedy, 60, of Rocky Gap VA, formerly of Wyoming County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from Carilion Clinic-Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke VA.
Born on August 1, 1948, at Simon, she was the beloved daughter of Andrew Thompson and the late Reba (Kennedy) Thompson.
In addition to her mother she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Alex Kennedy.
Loraine was formerly a resident of Wyoming County where she lived for 59 years, moving to Rocky Gap VA a year ago. She was a homemaker, of the Jesus Name Faith for 46 years and was a member of the Upper Room Jesus Name Church at Simon. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Loraine are: her loving husband of 37 1/2 years, Alvin A. Kennedy, Sr., of Rocky Gap VA; her two beloved daughters: Pamela (Jamie) Tucker of Bluefield and Jennifer Rose (Michael) Brown of Roanoke VA; her beloved son, Jay (Tonya) Kennedy of Bluefield; her precious granddaughter, Hailey Clemson; her precious grandson, Jacob Brown; her father, Andrew (Coriene) Thompson of Simon; her brothers and sisters: Lucille (Marvin) Blackburn, Coriene Toler, and Dora (Bradley) Kennedy all of Simon, and Freddie (Rose) Thompson of Sunhill, and Teddy (Kay) Thompson of Rocky Mount VA; her mother-in-law, Maggie Kenneda of Simon; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Upper Room Jesus Name Church at Simon on Friday, October 31st after 6:00 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 1st at the Upper Room Jesus Name Church with the Rev. Ravin Fields, Jr., and the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial followed in the Thompson cemetery at Long Branch of Simon. Nephews served at pallbearers.
