Dianna Lynn Lockard, 48, of Varney, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 31, 2008, from Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
Born on August 25, 1960, at Wyandotte, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Keister and Shirley (Smith) Lockard.
Dianna was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents: Arthur and Dorothy Smith; her Paternal Grandparents: Noah and Mary Lockard; and her Uncle: Marvin Smith.
She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, those left to love and to cherish the memory of Dianna are: her brothers: Keister Lockard Jr., John (Billie) Lockard of Varney, and Steven Lockard of Wharncliffe; her sisters: Janice Aldrich of Michigan, Nancy (James) Dempsey of Belo, And Brenda (Jimmy) Cisco of Meador; and a host of family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, November 1st, 2008, from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bo Starr and Brother John Lockard officiating. Burial followed in the Browning cemetery at Wharncliffe. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Vicie Lester Salmons, 81, of Baisden, went home to be with the Lord and her precious mother, on Monday, November 3, 2008, from Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan.
Born on September 14, 1927, at Baisden, she was the beloved daughter of the late Tyce Lester and the late Effie (Glanden) Lester Ward.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Salmons; her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Clifton and Sylvia Salmons; her precious daughters: Ethel and infant Peggy Sue Salmons; four brothers: Roscoe, Lloyd, Wesley, and Tom Lester; her three sisters: Ellie Chaney, Martha Lester, and Emma Harvey.
Vicie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jesus Name Church at Baisden.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Vicie are: her eight beloved sons: Era Junior (Eleanor), Benny Ray, and Ronald Dale (Mary) Salmons all of Monroe, James Harold (Lana), Arthur (Rose), Terry (Carmella), and Walter Lee (Jenny) Salmons all of Baisden, and Steve (Patricia) Salmons of Varney; her precious daughter, whom she made her home with, Abigail (Dale) Bailey of Baisden; her brother, Calvin Lester of Florida; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; two very special and cherished friends who loved her dearly, Scottie and Linda Cline of Baisden; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, November 6th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 7th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rocky Morgan and the Rev. John Stafford officiating. Burial followed in the Glanden cemetery at Baisden. Grandson served as pallbearers.

Grant Doyle Walls, 73, of Roanoke VA, formerly of Logan County, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from Roanoke.
Born on May 27, 1935 at Leatherwood, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Wilson and Minnie Walls.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Doyle Walls; 4 brothers: Edward, Albert, Lee, and Joseph Harley Walls, Sr.; 9 sisters: Lena Hatfield, Dorothy Mitchell, Fannie Carter, Eva Lester, Belva White, Rita Jean Fortner, Betty, Lennie and Blanche Walls.
Grant was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a retired coal miner and truck driver and of the Baptist Faith. He will be greatly miss by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Grant are his and Vonnie's children: Joyce (Dave) Bastin of Jacksonville FL, Viola (Jeff) Ward of Hanover, Lisa Noble of May Port FL, Marlena (Filex) Leon of Seattle WA; and Joseph Walls of Jacksonville FL; 13 grandchildren; his 4 sisters: Sue Davis of Fairport NY, Zetta Lester of Gilbert, Naomi Reichert of Fairport NY, Lessie Dietrich of Fairport NY; his 2 brothers: Dewey Walls of Verner and David Walls of Coal Mountain; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A memorial services was held on Sunday, November 9, 2008, at the Promise Christian Fellowship Church at Horsepen starting at 3:00 pm.

Dora Jane (Nelson) Cantrell, 67, of Christian, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2008, from her residence.
Born on September 12, 1941 at Stowe, she was the beloved daughter of the late Woots and Virginia (VanDevander) Nelson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eddie Gene Cantrell; a son, David Linton Cantrell; a daughter, Donna Jean Cantrell; two brothers: James Charles and Carlos Edward Nelson; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth.
Jane was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jane are: her four beloved sons: Rev. Billy (Gondy) Cantrell of Christian, Dennis (Jessica) Cantrell of Bruno, Phillip (Sherry) Cantrell of Springlake NC, and Michael (Crystal) Cantrell of Hurricane; her four loving daughters: Terri (Ronald) Lambert of Christian, Paula (Norman II) Harvey of Kistler, Jean Ann (Jackie II) Evans of Earling, and Pamela (Robert) Holland of Beaumont TX; her 20 precious grandchildren: David (Vickie), Eddie (April), Billy II, Daniel (Savanna), Brittany, Adriana, Paul, Amanda, Joshua, Trevor, and Christian Cantrell, Christina (David) Riley, Dalina (Chris) Blankenship, Raymond & Joseph Lambert, Jackie III, Mark and Matthew Evans, and Michael and Jenny Bowers; her 13 precious great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters: Corrina (John) BoCook, Russell (Mary Lou) Nelson, Maggie (Ranny) Gibson, Anna (Steve) Dick, and Michael (Drema) Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, whom she dearly loved. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to their parents' home health care nurse and special friend Nancy Bryant.
Friends called at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church at Bruno on Monday, November 10th after 6 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11th at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Benny Blankenship and the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Christian Community cemetery at Christian. Grandson served as pallbearers.

Sandra D. Blevins, 69, of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Monday, November 10, 2008, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington.
Born on June 19, 1939, at Cole Brook, New Hampshire, she was the beloved daughter of the late Claude and Elmerlene (Brown) French.
Sandra was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a retired school bus driver with the Mingo County Board of Education, and was of the Protestant Faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Sandra are: her three beloved sons: Kenny (Helen) Butcher, Sr., of Delbarton, Chris (Pam) French of Baisden, and Brad (Debbie) Butcher of Hampden; her loving daughter, Kim Blevins New of Baisden; her three precious grandsons: Kenny (Tobi) Butcher, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Nathan Butcher of Hampden, and Cameron Blevins of Wharncliffe; her three precious granddaughters: Tiffanee Butcher of Largo, Florida, Dr. Amanda (John) Pennington of Huntington, and Danielle Butcher of Hampden; her adorable great grandson, Kenneth Edward 'Trey' Butcher III of Orlando, Florida; her sister, Nancy (Larry) Browning of Wharncliffe; her dear and special friend, who she loved as a daughter, Shannon Cantrell Adkins; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Wednesday, November 12th from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 13th at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with the Rev. Carl 'Cab' Wolford and the Rev. Denny May officiating. Burial followed in the Hatfield cemetery at Sharon Heights, Hampden.
Singers were: Trinity and Bessie Blevins and Barb Stanley.
Pallbearers were: Nathan and Kenny Butcher, Jr., Terry England, John Pennington, Paul Browning, and other dear family and friends.

India Lee, 76, of Hanover, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2008, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.
Born on March 27, 1932, at Rose Branch of Hanover, she was the beloved daughter of the late Oma (Lester) and Jesse Vance, and the late Don Stafford.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Lee, Jr., and one sister, Dena Hurley.
India was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ at Iaeger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of India are: her two beloved sons: George 'Poncho' Lee of Hanover and Shawn (Misty) Lee, with whom she made her home, of Hanover; her three loving daughters: Crystal 'Sissie' (David) Towe of Tampa FL, Elizabeth 'Gay' (Dennis 'Dink') Vanover of Iaeger, and Joyce Lowe of Roderfield; her precious grandchildren: Mark Lee (Crystal Hensley), Amanda Fannin, Ryan Towe, Jessica and Michelle Vanover, Garett Lowe, and Troy Lee; her precious great grandchildren: Alanis Riffe and Connor and Brody Lee; her sister, Belva Hawkins of Hanover; her brother, Darrell Stafford of Hanover, her two special aunts: Alpha Riffe and Mable Adams; her special friends: Odis and Dreama Riffe; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 14th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Kevin Blankenship officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Riffe cemetery at Lower Muzzle of Hanover.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Billy Joe Drake, 71, of Panther, departed this life on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center at Huntington.
Born on July 27, 1937, at Charleston, he was the beloved son of the late Howard and Bertha (Kirk) Drake.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a grandson, Brian K. Justice; two sisters: Pearl and Irene Anderson; his maternal grandparents: Fred and Schrilba Lester; and his paternal grandparents.
Billy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved fishing and hunting and being outdoors. He was a retired coal miner and of the Church of God faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish Billy are: his loving wife of 50 years, Murlene J. (Justice) Drake of Panther; his son, Danny Joe (Mary) Drake of North Fork; his three daughters: Chassie (Ricky) Goodman of Hampden, DeeDee Blankenship of Premier, and Patricia Drake of Tampa Florida; his ten grandchildren: Daniel Drake and fiancée Brittany Doss, Heather Burbett, Jimmy Lee Drake, Gabrielle, Joey, and Billy Goodman, Angela and Steven Caskey, Bessie Justus, and Brandy Wilson; his five great grandchildren: Aaron Burbett, Ashley and Brittney Caskey, and Jesse James and Brian K. Justice, Jr.; his two sisters: Betty (John) Strickland of Grafton OH and Doris Cline of Panther; his brother, Buddy Anderson of Indiana; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, November 14th from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 15th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Cline officiating. Burial followed in the Justice cemetery at Bull Creek of Panther. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Helen P. Gross, 66, of Riverview 'Slabtown' section of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2008, from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.
Born on October 11, 1942, in Greenbrier County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest and Bertha (Bryant) Eggleston.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Gross and one brother, Clyde Alfred Eggleston.
Helen was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a nursing secretary at Logan Regional Medical Center, and of the Christian Faith, being affiliated with the Gilbert Church of God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Helen are: her two sons: Terry and John (Sherry) Gross both of Gilbert; her daughter, Connie (James) Riffe of Jefferson, Georgia; her seven grandchildren: Brandon Gross of Logan, Terry Ray 'T.R.' Gross of Gilbert, Victoria Gross of Hanover, James Jr., and Helena Riffe of Jefferson, Georgia, and Nicholas and Shiloh Gross Layne of Verner; her two step-grandchildren: Eddie Riffe of Richlands Virginia and Anthony New of Gilbert; her sister, Dora Long of Loganville, Georgia; her brother, Jimmy Eggleston of White Lake, Michigan; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Gilbert on Sunday, November 16th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 17th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scotty Dingess officiating. Burial followed in the Christian Family cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
