Franklin Herbert Evans, Sr., 61, of Brooksville, Florida, departed this life December 3, 2008.
Born September 24, 1947 at Justice, he was the son of Naomi June (Smith) White, and the late Alvin Walter Evans.
In addition to his father, Franklin was preceded in death by one brother: Michael Evans.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Franklin, in addition to his mother, is his wife: Laura Evans of Flint, MI; his son: Franklin (Kim) Evans, Jr., of Flint, MI; his daughter: Sylvia (William) Eplett Jr., of Durand, MI; his brothers: Rod (Pam) Evans of Charleston, WV; and John David Walker, of WV; his sisters: Linda (Sam) Houston of Reynoldsburg, OH.; and Jackie Holcomb of Hanover; his granddaughters: Michelle Hoffa of Flint, MI; and Amber Eplett of Durand, MI.; his Grandsons: Franklin Evans of Flint, MI, William (Scooter) Eplett, and Christopher Eplett, both of Durand, MI.; his lifelong friend, Thurman (Sue) Stacy of Flint, MI. who felt like a brother to him. Franklin was a retired crane operator from General Motors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel Monday, December 8th, 2008 from 4 to 9 pm.
A celebration of his life was held at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Dennis Adkins officiating.
To honor his wishes he was cremated.

Maple Mae 'Squirt' (Hunt) Chapman, 78, of Beckley, formerly of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 7, 2008, from Bowers Hospice House at Beckley.
Born on December 9, 1929, at Biggs Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late William J. and Betty (Pugh) Hunt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Squirt, as she was known to all, was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a lovely smile for everyone she met. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Gilbert. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Squirt are: her loving husband of 61 years, Montana 'Junior' Chapman, Jr. of Baisden; her two beloved sons: Eddie (Gay) Chapman of Baisden and Ricky Joe (Debbie) Chapman of Oceana; her beloved daughter, Sheila Chapman of Beckley; her six precious grandchildren: Victoria C. (Warren) Brown, Douglas (Sam) Chapman, Melissa Chapman (Dwayne) Cline, Amanda J. Chapman, Ashley Chapman, and Erick (Greta) Cline; her five precious great grandchildren: Andreau Chapman Morgan, Joshua Chapman, Madison Chapman Brown, Sarah Chapman, and Ranse Cline; her sister, Berchie Slone of Pals Creek KY; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the First Missionary Baptist Church at Gilbert on Tuesday, December 9th from 6 to 9 pm.
A celebration of her life was held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10th at the First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Lester and the Rev. Mason Perry officiating.
Burial followed in the Chapman cemetery at Baisden.
She was carried to her final resting place by her grandsons, great grandsons, Warren Brown, and Dwayne Cline.
Honorary pallbearers were: Harold Noe, Ronnie Mounts, Arthur, Arthur Jr., Doug, and Jessie Ellis.

Carl Philip Stapleton, 67, of Gilbert, departed this life on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at CAMC-Memorial Division, Charleston, WV.
Born on August 8, 1941, at Raisell, he was the beloved son of the late Emery and Mabel Virginia (Buchanon) Stapleton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Carl was a retired machinist with Piston Coal Company, and was currently employed with Wackenhut Security, a member of the United Mine Workers Association and the Upper Laurel Fire Department, and he was of the Church of God Faith.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Carl are: his four brothers: Charles Edward (Josephine) Stapleton of Taylor Michigan, Camel Jewel Stapleton of Clarksville, Tennessee, Colen (Anita) Stapleton of Beckley, and Wiley Kent (Audrey) Stapleton of Clarksville, Tennessee; his sister, Bobbie Jean (Dennis) Wilson of Beckley; his fiancé, Bonnie Lou Collins of Gilbert; his step children: Janet (Ricky) Blankenship of Gilbert, Charles (Donna) Dotson of Senoia, Georgia, Janice (Ricky) Toler of Gilbert, Rabon (Ann) Dotson of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, and Wanda (Danny) Walls of Davin; his two nieces; his six nephews; his nine step grandchildren; his five step great grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, December 12th from 6 pm to 9 pm.
A celebration of his life was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 13th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Stapleton officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park at Beckley with a graveside service at 2:00 pm in the Mausoleum at the cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jamie Stapleton, Ricky Blankenship, Charles Dotson, Rabon Dotson, Danny Walls, and Jeremy Walls.

Jesse Lee Adams, 74, departed this life on Thursday, December 11, 2008.
Born on March 1, 1934, at Baileysville, he was the beloved son of the late King and Brooke (Bailey) Adams.
Jesse was a retired staff sergeant in the US Air Force.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Jesse are: his loving wife, Shirley F. Adams, his two sons: Curtis Adams and David Hatch; his daughter-in-law, Delores Hatch; his four grandchildren: Chris, Jesse, Brandy Hatch and Michelle Morrison; his four great grandchildren; his two nephews: Nick and Jack Hanks; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A celebration of his life was held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 14th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert. Burial followed in the Adams cemetery at Hanover.

Harriett Jean Wiley, 47, of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008, from St. Mary's Medical Center at Huntington.
Born on January 26, 1960, at Welch, she was the beloved daughter of Hattie (Poe) Blankenship and the late Harry Roy.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents: William 'Bill' and Josephine (Trent) Poe; her paternal grandparents; and one sister, Abby Dawn Poe.
Harriett was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of God, and a member of the Gilbert Volunteer Fire Department. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Harriett are: her loving husband of 30 years, Timothy Lewis Wiley of Gilbert; her precious mother, Hattie (Poe) Blankenship of Gilbert; her two beloved daughters: Alesha (Stanley) Cook of Hanover and Misty (Leonard) Pack of Gilbert; her beloved son, Dennis (Alisha) Wiley of Wharton; her two darling granddaughters: Molly and Sara Cook of Hanover; her sister, Melissa Poe of Gilbert; her six brothers: Jimmy Poe and companion Gloria, William 'Joe' Poe, Randy (Gloria) Poe, Lovell Keith Poe, all of Gilbert, Eddie Poe and companion Gay of Bruno, and Larry (Tammy) Poe of Dacula, GA; a very special and loving dog, Dakota; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, December 21st from 6 pm to 9 pm.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 22nd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter, Rev. Bill Cresong, and the Rev. Roscoe May officiating.
Burial will follow at the Hollywood cemetery at Gilbert.
She will be carried to her final resting place by members of the Gilbert Volunteer Fire Department and members of the Stafford Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.).

Ernest Lee 'T' Cline, 48, of Baisden, departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at his residence.
Born on November 25, 1960, at Welch, he was the beloved son on Lucille (New) Cline and the late Willie Jean Cline.
T was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a retired coal miner and of the Church of God Faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of T are: his loving mother, Lucille Cline of Gilbert; his beloved son, Josh Cline of Gilbert; his loving daughter, Natasha Cline of Gilbert; his precious granddaughter, Mallory Cline of Gilbert; his two sisters: Beulah (Kent) Bishop of Hanover and Imagene (Roger) Browning of Bristol VA; his two brothers: Terry (Phoebe) Cline, Jr., of Gilbert, and Eugene (Beverly) Cline of Wharncliffe; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may call on Monday, December 22nd from 6 to 9 pm.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 23rd with the Rev. Danny Ward and the Rev. Carl 'Cab' Wolford officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cline cemetery at Spring Fork, Wharncliffe.
He will be carried to his final resting place by: Josh, Timothy, Jeramy, Eugene, Joey, Terry Jo, and Terry Joseph Cline, Walter Bailey, Justin and Terry Likens, Wesley and Chris Sparks, and Robbie Browning.

Barbara E. Cline, 78, of Hanover, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 28, 2008, from Welch Emergency Hospital in Welch.
Born on April 12, 1930, at Iaeger, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Cline) Trent.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Denver 'Pete' Cline; and two brothers: Carl (Pat) Trent and Jack (Thelma) Trent.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Barbara are: her two beloved daughters: Pat (Steven) Cline of Wharncliffe and Pam Harvey and Ken Young of Hanover; her sister, Joann Jackson of Princeton; her brother, Earl (Linda) Trent of Long Pole; her very special grandchildren: Whittney (AJ) Cline of Delbarton, Brittney (Keith) Mitchell of Hanover, and Kaitlyn and Branson Harvey of Hanover; her two precious great grandchildren: Jacob Cline of Delbarton and EmyLeigh Mitchell of Hanover; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, December 30th from 6 pm to 9 pm.
A celebration of her life was held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31st at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Lester and the Rev. Carl 'Cab' Wolford officiating.
Burial followed in the Trent cemetery at Long Pole.
She was carried to her final resting place by: AJ Cline, Keith Mitchell, Jackie, James, and Daniel Jessie, Johnnie, Patrick, Larry, and Rocky Cline, and Carl Cohenour.

Franklin Delano Rogers, 76, of Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, December 28, 2008, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born in Cashiers, North Carolina, on July 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Chris and Helena Rogers.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eula Lee (Pruett) Rogers, one sister and nine brothers.
Franklin accepted the Lord in 1970, and was a member of the Horsepen Baptist Church at Hampden. He loved gardening and sharing his vegetables with others. He was known for his kind spirit and generosity. Franklin served in the Air Force and received an honorable discharge. He supervised a major coal operation in Logan County, and was the owner of Frank Rogers Trucking and Clam Trucking Company, Inc., in Gilbert. He retired in Gilbert, after working in the coal trucking business for most of his life.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Franklin are: his daughter, Carol White and fiancé Eric Powell of Gulfport FL; his three sons: Allen Rogers and wife Penny of Gilbert; Michael Rogers of Logan; and Larry Rogers and wife Michelle of North Augusta SC; his grandson, Randy Dodson of Gulfport FL; his two sisters: Alice Mason of Rushton LA and Christine Lehn of Cashiers NC; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Melton Riddle Funeral Home in Sylva, North Carolina, on Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm with the Rev. Charles Dean officiating.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Melton Riddle Funeral Home. Burial immediately followed at Big Ridge cemetery in Glenville, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Big Ridge cemetery Fund in care of Larry Rogers, P.O. Box 7527, North Augusta, SC. 29861.
Melton Riddle Funeral Home at 59 Cherry Street, Sylva, NC 28779, (828)586-8600, is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be conducted at the Horsepen Baptist Church at Hampden on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Orville Cline officiating.
