MOLLOHAN, LANTY P.

Lanty P. Mollohan, 103, of Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Nebo, Clay County, a son of the late Anis and Sarah Tanner Mollohan. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are four daughters, Mabel Justice of Reedy, Hallie Cunningham of Burning Springs, Ruth Kun and Bonnie Worstell, both of Marietta; and one son, Arnold Mollohan of Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lura Maude Mollohan; three daughters; and two sons. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Darrell Mollohan officiating. Burial was in Nebo Baptist Church cemetery.

MOORE, CLARENCE A.

Clarence A. Moore, 79, of Chloe, died Friday, July 21, 1995, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Clay County, a son of the late Lee and Carrie Miller Moore. He was a retired coal miner and farmer and was a U.S. veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Martha Tanner Moore; three sons, Roscoe Moore, Mitchell Moore and Roy Jeff Moore, all of Chloe; two daughters, Kathleen Hughes of Spencer and Thelma Carte of Chloe; one brother, Dallas Moore of Duck; two sisters, Nellie Starcher of Duck and Pearl Moore of Nebo; 12 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter and two sons. Services were held at Unity Gospel Tabernacle, Nebo, with Rev. Donald Dawson officiating. Burial was in Coen cemetery, Nebo, with military graveside rites.

MOORE, RICHARD VANCE

Richard (Dick) Vance Moore, 50, died Monday, Jan. 9, 1995, at his home. He was born in Calhoun County, and was Pentecostal by faith. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Lee Moore; three sons, Richard (Bubby) V. Moore, Jr., Delbert (Louie) E. Moore and Joseph V. Moore, all residing at home; three daughters, Melissa L. Cottrill of Calhoun County, Charlotte (Ann) K. Moore of Philippi and Becky A. Ketelsen of Mt. Clare; eight granddaughters and two grandsons. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday, Jan 11. Services will be held Thursday, Jan 12, at Dorsey's Funeral Home, Shinnston, with burial in Mt. Clare cemetery.

MORGAN, RUTH P.

Ruth P. Morgan, 84, of Camp Barbe Road, Wirt County, died Sunday, April 16, 1995, at home, after an extended illness. She was born in Uhrichsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late William L. and Alice May Guthrie Parry. She was a 1928 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and received her teaching certificate from Wirt County Board of Education. She was previously employed as a teacher at Center Valley Elementary in Wirt County, and as a clerk at Sears & Roebuck. She assisted her husband, a former state legislator, in the operation of Lazy River Dairy Farm. In 1980 she was honored as Wirt County Belle at the W. Va. Folk Festival, and in 1983 she was presented with an honorary membership in the Wirt County Fair Association. She was curator of Beauchamp Newman Museum and a 21 year member of Wirt Chapter 113 Order of Eastern Star and Beulah Hill Homemakers Club. She was an active member of Elizabeth Beauchamp Chapter and Daughters of the American Pioneers, having served three terms as regent. She was also a longtime member of Wirt County Farm Bureau and was instrumental in the development of the Wirt County History Book. She served as president of Elizabeth Women's Club from 1955- 1957, and was a member of Beulah-Humble Presbyterian Church, having formerly been a member and organist of Elizabeth Presbyterian Church. She was a columnist in The Parkersburg News for 28 years, entertaining readers with "Ruth's Ramblings." She once said, "I try to do what I can to preserve the country through my column. I try to show people the value of families and nature. I don't suppose there will be anyone else to take up the fight when I'm gone." Surviving in addition to her husband, Raymon, are one son, Lowell P. Morgan of Canton; one daughter, Alice Stanley of Ona; three grandsons, Bruce Stanley of Boaz, Raymond Morgan of Elizabeth and James M. Stanley of Lawton, Okla.; three granddaughters, Rebecca L. Richards, Ruth Anne Full and Marybeth Busch, all of Elizabeth; 13 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Joy Morgan Stevens of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Royal Parry, and one sister, Inez Beltz. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. Robert Stanley and Rev. James O. Richards officiating, and burial in Knights of Pythias cemetery, Elizabeth.

MORRIS, OPAL F.

Opal F. Morris, 88, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, April 13, 1995, at her daughter's residence in Seattle, Wash. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Albert E. and Elizabeth Maze Rice. She had worked at the silk mill and was a homemaker. She was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Helen Muller of Walker and Carolyn Anderson of Seattle; one brother, Harley Rice of Parkersburg; and four grandchildren, Daniel Mullen, Robert Mullen and Crystal Duncan, all of Walker, and Ann Foltman of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Morris, in 1990; two sisters; and two brothers. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at South Parkersburg Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Busch officiating, and burial in Mount Olivet cemetery.

MORRIS, VELMER R.

Velmer R. Morris, 95, of Glenville, died Friday, Dec. 23, 1994, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Nicholas County, a son of the late Thompson and Mariah Hardway Morris. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a former coal miner. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Keys Morris; two daughters, Helen Yerkey of Glenville and Virginia Morris Jones of Sand Fork; one son, James R. Morris of Front Royal, Va.; three stepsons, Don Metz of Ravenswood, Bill Metz of Jonesboro, Ind., and Harold Metz of Summersville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, one brother, and two sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Moore Family cemetery, Summersville.

MULLEN, REGINA JO

Regina Jo Mulen, 55, of Wooster, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 3, 1995, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born at Stumptown, a daughter of the late Harry "Buck" and Florence Metz Bush and was self-employed, operating a cleaning service. Surviving are two sons, John N. Mullen of Sarasota, Fla., and Robert "Jamie" Mullen of Wooster; one daughter, Tammi Jo Mullen; a grandson, John Ryan Mullen of Wooster and Apple Creek; and numerous other relatives, including an aunt, Ermal Westfall of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Cruise; and three brothers, Gary Bush, Harry Bush, Jr., and Larry W. Bush. Services were held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, with burial in Grafton cemetery, Grafton, Ohio.

MULLINS, RETHA FAYE

Retha Faye Mullins, 84, of Parkersburg, died Friday, May 12, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Alfred and Hettle Wilson Jarvis. She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital in the dietary department and was a member of 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles Mullins of Marietta and Russell Mullins of Parkersburg; one daughter, Pearl Mullins of Cleveland; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mullins; two daughters; one son; two sisters; one brother; one great-grandson; and one great- granddaughter. Services were held at 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church with Rev. Danny Jefferies and Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

MURIN, NICHOLAS U.

Nicholas U. Murin, 75, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Butler, Pa., a son of the late Frank and Julia Korba Murin. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and was a retired professor and head coach at Glenville State College. He was also a former coach and teacher at Calhoun County High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Parkersburg; Eureka Masonic Lodge #40, Grantsville; Retired Teachers of Wood County; American Legion Post 64, Marietta; Ohio-West Virginia Officials Association; and the "Geritol Gang." Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. Hull Murin; one son, William Nicholas Murin of San Mateo, Calif.; three daughters, Julia Lee of Belpre, Marilyn Barnes of Vienna and Mary Baldwin of Las Cruces, N.M.; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Dino of Binghamton, N.Y., Julia Spolsky of Johnson City, N.Y., and Helen Kiser of Welch. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Memorial services were held at First United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, with Rev. William Anderson officiating. The body was donated to the Human Gift Registry at West Virginia University, Morgantown.

MUSIC, THOMAS E.

Thomas E. Music, 68, of Arnoldsburg, died Sunday, Mar. 5, 1995, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division, after an extended illness. He was born in Prestonburg, Ken., a son of the late George and Martha Music. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired coal miner. He was a member of Leatherbark Community Church, Arnoldsburg. Surviving are one son, Charles Music of Williamstown; two daughters, Sharon Golka of Manchester, Mich., and Linda Music of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Charles R. Music of Logan; two half-brothers, Arnold Music and Gordon Music, both of Prestonburg; one half-sister, Bonnie Music of Prestonburg; seven grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Music; one sister; and one half-brother. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home Arnoldsburg, with burial in Minnora cemetery.

NICHOLAS, CHARLES M.

Charles M. Nicholas, 75, of Parkersburg, died Monday, May 15, 1995, at his residence. He was born in Revere, a son of the late Charles M. and Alta Stidd Nicholas. He was a graduate of Wirt County High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1983 from DuPont's Washington Works after 31 years of service, and attended North Parkersburg Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Geraldine Nutter Nicholas; four sons, Richard C. Nicholas of Columbus, Gene A. Bosma of Chambersburg, Pa., Terry L. Bosma of Grand Haven, Mich., and Kem R. Bosma of Parkersburg; two daughters, Susan L. Haught and Alice Lauderman, both of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Nicholas of Grantsville; and one sister, Hazel Kelley of Belpre. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Cunningham Nicholas; five brothers; and three sisters. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating, and burial in Nobe cemetery.
